They forgot to put it on their calendar. They decided to go ahead with it. I'm hoping no one shows up; then I can just come home and still feel I have fulfilled my obligation.

Well there are no leaves left on the crabapple tree - they are all on the ground and the deck.

And a lot of leaves were blown off the bush and are in the front yard and on the front porch.

I'm following an auction, the first of which is very rare presidential stuff - several items have crossed the 100K mark. Who has that kind of money to throw around? 130K with buyer's premium, shipping and tax (if there's tax) on top of it. Most items going in the 40 to 60K range. On Invaluable, there are usually twenty to sixty people viewing - this auction? 450.

Melissa Errico sings an early Sondheim song. It was written for Climb High, the last of the four "apprentice" musicals Sondheim wrote per Oscar Hammerstein's instructions--in this case he was meant to write a completely original musical, and not an adaptation. Some have suggested that with the protagonist of the work, Sondheim was influenced by Rodgers/Hammerstein's Allegro (which he was a gofer for, of course) and its story about a hero who is at risk of artistically selling out. And, no, I have no idea what the context of this song is in the show's plot.

Darling Daughter and I did Barone's - she hadn't had the pizza from there since the early 1980s. So, we ordered the medium pepperoni and we split the carbonara - splitting was genius - not too much. Both were great and we both had dinner salads. We gabbed quite a bit.
