Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fine October first reminiscences, and now it is time for you to post until the fine cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROPENSITY!
-
Wordle 1,201 4/6
⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜
🟩⬜⬜🟨⬜
🟩🟨⬜⬜⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
-
Topic of the Day:
Die Hard
Dogma
Galaxy Quest
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Marvin's voice in the motion picture)
Harry Potter and the... (all of them)
Sweeney Todd (didn't love the movie, though)
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was up way too late with the debate, so I did not get enough sleep. To add to my woes,. neither Annabelle nor Thatch ate their breakfast. I hope they're not sick.
-
Did anyone watch the debate? Tim Walz is sincere, but not a good debater. On the other hand, JD Vance was smooth, polished, and slick as a snake oil salesman. Like the Fat Orange Baboon, he lies with ease, "oozing charm from every pore, he oiled his way across the floor."
-
The best moment came early, when Nora O'Donnell caught Vance in a lie about illegal aliens, and Vance panicked "you said you wouldn't fact check!"
-
I'm seeing Joshie today. I think I'm getting "Little Lamb," maybe somkethig else.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
.
-
Produce misting day?
-
That's just silly.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Isn't it Ask BK Day?
-
Just asking.
-
For a friend?
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's a gorgeous crisp sunny October 2nd.
I might do a few things outside, but I'll definitely be working on these two movements from the violin concertos. And that's inside.
And I seem to have jumped a day this week. Yesterday felt like a Monday pretty much all day, and today feels like it really should be a Tuesday.
-
No, not jumped a day. Fell behind a day. And I don't like it when I err in that direction.
-
I often err when eating herring.
-
Whilst wearing an earring.
-
Pretty little picture?
-
James Ensor's "Skeletons Fighting Over a Pickled Herring" (1891)
-
Because that's what skeletons do.
-
One is erring when eating a herring while thinking Heering Cherry Liquer is called Cherry Heering, and especially if they think it's called Cherry Herring.
-
Has a herring ever gotten a fair hearing?
-
Remember that time James Deering was caught leering at a herring?
-
TOD
Sense and Sensibility
-
Two!
-
I could only watch about wo minutes of the debate because Jaydine did nothing but LIE....none of the things he said last night are things he and the other grifter have said during their rallies or interviews.....sometimes just the opposite.
-
TOD.
Die Hard
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Both performances were Oscar-worthy yet neither got him a nomination.
-
J.D. had pretty eyes last night.
I wonder if he can convince Trump to use his guyliner.
-
Just FYI:
The U.S., under Biden, has the highest output in oil production in the world.
The stock market has never been as high.
Unemployment is the lowest it has been in decades.
-
James Ensor's "Skeletons Fighting Over a Pickled Herring" (1891)
LOL!

Happy Erev Rosh Hashanah to those who celebrate.
-
TOD: I haven't seen a lot of his most famous movies, but of the ones I have seen:
Galaxy Quest
Sense and Sensibility
Love Actually
-
For Jewish people already back in the office, today is the workday affectionately nicknamed "Rush-a Home-a" - when you "rush home" from work early to be home in time to be ready for Rosh Hashanah beginning at sundown.

Really good one!

My favorite gas station was open. Cash only with a $30 limit per car.
Filled mine up with a $20! No long lines, but very busy nonetheless.
To restrict to a $30 limit, you have to go in and pay the cashier.
-
I had an odd memory today as I was eating my hot lunch and watching TV:
Friday afternoon, as folks were posting to Facebook about damage and power outages, etc., one lady asked if anyone knew when the power would come back because she had to plan for when to serve her family supper. Her naivete touched me more deeply than I realized.
The most hopeful reply was that it would take a week, maybe two.
Many folks have had power restored, but very rural areas are still dark with another few days to a week or more to wait out.
-
TOD Redux:
Absolutely "Sense and Sensibility"...a very touching performance.
-
I would also choose SAS as the TOD.

"Actor John Amos died in August, but his daughter has revealed she only learned about it when his passing was reported by the media on October 1.
Shannon Amos paid tribute to her late father in a video shared on Instagram that showed the two dancing to the song “Dance with My Father” by Luther Vandross.
“I am without words…Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my Dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on August 21st,” Shannon Amos wrote in the caption. “We are devastated and left with many questions about how this happened 45 days ago, learning about it through the media like so many of you.” "

Oh, my goodness! That's so sad. :(
-
Mowed the backyard and trimmed the front. Tomorrow my sister and brother-in-law will bring over the riding mower and trimming equipment.
-
Too much dealing with the estate.
Has it been very complicated?
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
A truly irritating morning and hopefully that will change shortly.
-
Page Three!
-
Haven't stopped since I woke up - first dealing with the irritant, which still isn't resolved - has to do with being overcharged for the second month in a row by the site host - I'm being charged for extra usage when all that is because of their server screw-ups. They admitted that last month and promised it wouldn't happen again - and yet - it did. I keep just enough money in PayPal to cover all the beginning of month Auto Payments. Because they overcharged there wasn't enough in there for the Spectrum autopay. So, had to call Spectrum and deal with all that.
-
Then I had to go to the mail place and then I came right back home.
-
Food arrived - pastrami, coleslaw, and 1000-Island dressing on double baked rye. Best thing of the day so far.
-
Happy New Year to all us Jews.
-
The Pastrami from Langer's was my New Year meal.
-
What is this page three malarkey?
-
Then Doug sends me an email asking if I'd send him the most recent Drat script. I sent it to him on 9/21. He does this ALL the time, then finds it, but never says a peep about that.
-
In a little while, I'm gonna try this Cedars app and see how THAT goes.
-
Hallelujah! Judge Chutkin unsealed Jack Smith's indictment on the Jan. 6 charges. There s much more damning evidence against the Fat orage Baboon than the Jan. 6 commission ever learned. I hope this fries Trump's fat ass.

Extra usage? So are more page-views (like by hundreds of Guests at times) a good thing or a bad thing?
-
Setting up the viral Cedar's visit - fifteen minutes of questions, photos, all that crap. Hopefully, that's a one-time deal. 2:15 is my appointment and hopefully the app will work and I'll be able to get my referral.
-
They're a good thing. The extra usage is them having to constantly reboot their server and fix our issues, which are NOT our fault, but theirs.

That makes sense, that having more visitors to a site would be a good thing.

In the waiting room for my appointment. I don't know if it's just text or visual.

I just don't know.

Guess I'll find out in fourteen minutes.

I just hope this is EASY.

Non irritation and appt. vibes for MR BK.

I just finished Richard Fleischer's book....it was most entertaining.
I first learned about it right here on HHW.

DR George, I didn’t realize how far your commute is for the show. I hope your experience is worth the drive 🙂

That’s mine, I accidentally quote George and being lazy decided to just modify the list instead of retyping but failed to completely edit
-
Yesterday I went to CarnegieHall
-
When I was in seventh or eighth grade, ABC started showing the Dollars Trilogy with Clint Eastwood. I was hooked.
I haven’t seen them since then. Thanks to the bad dubbing, the magic isn’t there anymore in A Fistful of Dollars.
-
The music is brilliant.
-
And while there I got to watch and listen to Graham Nash’s sound check
-
Yesterday I went to CarnegieHall
Did you practice?
-
Then last night I enjoyed them show,Graham Nash with special guest Judy Collins

LOL
-
The first half was Judy telling stories and singing songs, then Graham came out and they did a number together
-
Then Judy finished her set, we had intermission, then Graham came out
-
He also told tales and sang songs
-
I had a wonderful seat, front row in the second tier, just left of center
-
It was sold out, people were standing outside with signs looking for an extra ticket
-
Well I had better get back to what I was doing, getting the house ready for the Florida Vixes
-
How's your shoulder, DR John G.? Any improvement?
Not entirely. But I was told to wait a week.
Vibes you feel greatly improved by that time!
