Well, you've read the notes, the notes were circumcised and had borscht, and now it is time for you to post until the Jewish cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BARUCH!
-
George must have fallen asleep whilst eating borscht.
-
What other explanation could there be?
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And
germs others.
-
.
-
If your boyfriend is a techie, then you're really set to celebrate today.
-
My boyfriend is not a techie.
-
Good mornming, all!

I slept rather well. Stella was a bit of a problem when she decided to sleep next to me around midnight. She settled, she wanted some attention and love, she settled, she decided she needed to look over the bookshelves behind the bed, she settled, she decided she wanted some sttention and love . . .
Thatch decided he wanted a new sleeping place next to me, which forced me to take a new sleeping position. Annabelle likes her princess pillow, so thankfully she was no problem.

I had a long dream in which I was at Goodspeed working on a production of 1776. Most of the dream was in the costume shop, dealing with hat issues.
-
I read The Other in 1971, when it was riding high on ther bestseller list. It's a good, creepy thriller. I now remember little about the story, only the missing baby, but I do remember that I saw the film version twice, although I cannot remember why, since I thought the film was okay but not so good as the book.

Pupcakes!

The lid of the Dijon mustard came off inside our picnic basket.

Now there's Poupon everything.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m not a happy camper, because what I thought was some allergy sneezing last night seems to be a cold this morning.
-
Now there's Poupon everything.
I can hear this more readily than I can read it!
-
Pupcakes!
That's a really happy photo!
-
Now there's Poupon everything.
I'm so glad the no-groaning rule has been relaxed! :)
-
Isn't it now "groaning is allowed if it gets us closer to page 8"

I’m not a happy camper, because what I thought was some allergy sneezing last night seems to be a cold this morning.
Feel-better vibes for Chas!

Making America Great Again, using Project 2025 and both Trump's and Vance's logic, means a few rather unimaginable things.
First, when Vance refused to answer who won the 2020 election, he said he didn't want to look back, but he wants to look to the future.
That's a riot! Those who refuse to acknowledge the past fully intend to repeat it.
There is nothing futuristic about MAGA, Project 2025, Vance or Trump!
I am absolutely certain the "great again" agenda is a desire to return us to our lowest points in the past -- a time when Caucasians were the majority, a time when we "put people in their place" by demeaning them, giving them menial tasks and refusing to grant equality...a time when we made a lot of noise to get attention but couldn't really get our act together.
America, at its greatest, has always been progressive, welcoming of innovation and new blood, and open to change for the common good. That America yielded to the promises that our Constitution guaranteed to all. We have freedoms unlike any nation before. We have freedom of, as well as from, religion.
Arguments have been put forth that our rights are based on Christian values, but that isn't true. Those values we think of as "the 10 commandments' are NOT unique to Judeo-Christian theology. Those values are universal and exist in all the religions of this earth.
The election cannot get here fast enough. Very soon, we will learn just what the United States is made of.

HNY, Jews. As the little boy on Curb Your Enthusiasm would say.

Money back showing up vibes for MR BK.

Nice write up DR RON PULLIAM.
I have been reading the unsealed indictment that DR ELMORE posted. It is a very interesting and damning timeline of that terrible period in our history - one that should never be forgotten.
And it should be remembered who was responsible for it.

One week ago today seems miles away.
However, it is Thursday, and that means one important thing: Today is cubed steak day at "don't-be-a-square, eat-at-' The Triangle.
That said, local residents are putting up FB posts indicating they received updates to expect delays up to four weeks for power to return.
I am so overwhelmed by this. And I'm lucky.

The technician drawing my blood for this "serious" examination for kidney disease just left. He was prepared, very efficient, and he had a nice sense of humor. I liked him very much

I am trying to think of the longest time I have been without power. It might have been 10 or more days. Four weeks is a long time.

We got up early this morning and watched a beautiful sunrise over Monument Valley.

We have just returned from a short, extremely easy, hike.

It's been less than a week for me. :-\ I can't imagine 10 days, let alone four weeks!

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, maybe a bit less due to restlessness.

Harvest Home by Tom Tryon would make a good movie today.
The miniseries with Bette Davis and David Ackyroyd and Rene Auberjonois and Rosanna Arquette, that was creepy as hell and has stuck with me over the years.

Same. There are a number of TV movies and miniseries that I don't literally remember too much about - but yes, something sticks with you, and I would love to see some of them again. Maybe this one's available, I should look. I'm grateful for the ones that have been made released so far.

Survived physical therapy but he wants me to do an exercise that I am supposed to stop when the pain gets to a 5. What kind of nonsense is that?
-
Survived physical therapy but he wants me to do an exercise that I am supposed to stop when the pain gets to a 5. What kind of nonsense is that?
This is what it says on the pain scale
5 = Moderately strong pain. You can't ignore it for more than a few minutes. But with effort you can still work or do some social activities.
-
The pain scale
0 = No pain.
1 = Pain is very mild, barely noticeable. Most of the time you don't think about it.
2 = Minor pain. It's annoying. You may have sharp pain now and then.
3 = Noticeable pain. It may distract you, but you can get used to it.
4 = Moderate pain. If you are involved in an activity, you're able to ignore the pain for a while. But it is still distracting.
5 = Moderately strong pain. You can't ignore it for more than a few minutes. But with effort you can still work or do some social activities.
6 = Moderately stronger pain. You avoid some of your normal daily activities. You have trouble concentrating.
7 = Strong pain. It keeps you from doing normal activities.
8 = Very strong pain. It's hard to do anything at all.
9 = Pain that is very hard to bear. You can't carry on a conversation.
10 = Worst pain possible.

Should that have been ten posts?
-
Yes.

5 to me is not quite kidney stone level.
-
But fast approaching it.
-
Need to get ready for physical therapy this afternoon.
I hope it went well.
-

Levels are hard to determine. Just don't push it too hard.
-
Nice explanation DR Freddie.
-
5 to me is not quite kidney stone level.
I would have expected it to be higher.

Being in South Carolina under the current conditions is a revelations, of sorts.
I have long been aware I am in a red state and that my locals are all MAGA-loving Republicans.
They decry "socialism"...but now -- surprise! surprise! -- they are screaming out for it! Yes, by all means, get those roads cleared, and get the fallen trees moved out of the way and off of cars and houses, and no matter what, get the power back on!
And yet not one of them seems aware -- or would care to admit -- that it's "socialism" that makes their recovery possible.
Bless their hearts!
-
Kitty cupcakes!

My big surprise today was at The Triangle where I went for lunch.
Not only did they have succulent pieces of cubed steak, but they also had gorgeous fried pork chops!
Two great entrees on one day. Unheard of. Remarkable. Amazing.
So, I had cubed steak for lunch and bought the pork chop for supper.

I have been embroiled in a rather silly discussion on Facebook the past day or so, and it's come down to me fact-checking a TV meterologist in Greenville SC.
A meme has been going around showing Hurricane Helene as a Category 4 storm outdoing Hurricane Katrina which was a Category 3.
Facts are facts, and Katrina was a 5 when it slammed into New Orleans, It quickly deteriorated into a 3 as it did its damge.
Hellene was a 4 when it slammed into Florida but rapidly decreased to a 1 as it plowed through Georgia and was a tropical storm as it came into South Carolina.
But NO...the argument is that it was a 4 while it did its damage in SC and North Carolina. That's really not possible or we'd have been wiped off the face of the earth. The meteorologist confirmed that it "was" a 4 but said no more about what it became.
So, it's semantics....Katrina was a 5 that degraded into a 3 when it hit. Hellene was a 4 that degraded into a 1 just after it hit.
-
Let's move on.
-
One more
-
Four!

CONGRATULATIONS to DR Ron Pulliam on his lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!

No matter how many times I type that phrase, I never get "firmament" right on the first try.
-
We are traveling to New Jersey in about about a week to visit my family.
-
And the DH wants to go to Palm Springs in April, right after Easter.
-
I would rather sit at home and save money. :)
-
I wonder what my boyfriend wants to do? ;)
-
I also wonder if the guy who came up with the phrase "One Hit Wonder" ever came up with any other phrases.
-
Does this doormat say:
"Hope you brought wine"
or
"Hope you brought urine"?
-
We are traveling to New Jersey in about about a week to visit my family.
Have a nice time.

While I like Palm Spring I can think of better places to fly to.
-
Oh! Thanks. It just happened without my thinking about it!
Will work diligently to make 40,000.

I’m tired.

New students in dance class did me in.
-
Slow posting day again.
-
Loved the kitty cupcakes.
-
I love any kind of cupcake that tastes good.

Watching an early John Ford movie called Hangman’s House. It’s a silent movie without talking.
-
It’s a thorny Irish tale that starts with the French Foreign Legion.

Because why not?

Onward!

Five!

Hey, I said that.
-
Took the brother-in-law and his wife out to dinner tonight for their 31st anniversary.
-
There’s an echo here.
-
Nice Italian place.
-
I had the chicken parm because I love it and never have it.
-
Took the brother-in-law and his wife out to dinner tonight for their 31st anniversary.
Is that paper for the first?
-
Good evening.
-
On the way home, we stopped at the grocery store to see what's what.
-
Good question, DR John G.
-
I don't know. Their dinner was their gift. :)
-
Good evening, DR Laura.
-
Anyway, I was pleased to see that the grocery store shelves were stocked full of toilet paper, paper towels, and kleenex.
-
And no signs saying that you could only buy one.
-
So panic buying and hoarding haven't reached these shores yet.
-
DR John G., is there a particular dance or dances that are considered "easier" for newbies and first-timers?
-
Oh - I see now that the ports have re-opened. Crisis postponed.
-
I am interested in reading Ina Garten's new memoir (The Barefoot Contessa).
-
I am also interested in reading Dolly Parton's new cookbook.
-
I have been busy doing things that I can't even recall today.
-
I got a cookbook from the library today, Amish Pies. I want to eat all of them.
-
I have been busy doing things that I can't even recall today.
Ditto.

I created a nice refreshment table for a meeting the other day. The topic was global travel. I had foods representing places all over the world -- as much as would fit on the table.
-
Of course, almost everyone who would have attended said meeting stayed home to watch the debate.
-
It will probably be the same on Election Day. So I won't work so hard.
-
I got the second Hep B shot today. So far, so good. Last time my arm hurt for days.
-
That's good, DR Laura.
-
One more.

My, didn't realize how late it is.

Mustn't forget the otters.

Starting a movie called Gummo. It's a big miss.
-
Cat torture is not my idea of fun.
-
Good night, all.
-
Congrats to DR RON PULLIAM on his new millstone.
-
Now I want a pork chop.
But there is too much food in my fridge for me to go out for something different.
-
The street in front of my house has been scraped to the bottom.....and I guess the new asphalt will be put down tomorrow.
-
About 5:20 p.m. my computer was suddenly attacked by popups.
I took the bull by the horns and put it in the car and took it to FLUX.
Cody fixed it up in about 15 minutes.....he said no charge, but I gave him a $10 tip.
-
Then since I was over in that direction....I went to Dollar Tree and then Walmart......which was a mistake.....everyone in the tri county area was there.
I got what I needed and spent more time in line than I did shopping.
BUT now I don't have to go in the morning when there may be hot asphalt.
-
And my computer is fixed.
-
Page six?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone.
-
Watched a wonderful movie.
-
Did you?
-
Now I'm listening to music.
-
A bit of a nutty day.
-
Had penne in pink sauce with meat balls from Maria's Kitchen with a 40% off coupon.
-
Very good.
-
Worked at the piano and am finally getting used to playing and singing the songs.
-
Of course, I pretty much trashed my voice, doing that over and over again.
-
Made the eye doctor appointment.
-
Oh dear - the page that shall not be named.
-
I refuse to utter the name of this page. The cows refuse to udder the name of this page.
-
Anyone eat any Jew food?
-
I didn't.
-
I didn't leave the house.
-
I was a stay at home BK.
-
Where is George? He hasn't been around much today.
-
Was thinking about a snack, but I don't really have anything here except popcorn and I don't want that.
-
Last night I needed a snack so I got some California Roll - that was good.
-
Calorie friendly and it really hits the spot.
-
I suppose I could do that right now.
-
But I'll be a good boy.
-
I'll have to get drinks tomorrow. Almost out.
-
Guess I'll write some damn notes.
-
Notes are written and there's nobody here but us chickens.
-
Not very sporting.
-
No George.
-
Last night, he disappeared and never came back.
-
Will he be joining us this evening, or will he be eating a burrito?
-
Let's hope it's the former.
-
We must hope it's the former.
-
If I were not a reasonable person, I would order a lot of food from somewhere right this damn minute.
-
I really only had the pasta and balls for food.
-
Not much else.
-
Else not much.
-
Well, there's still thirty minutes before midnight.
-
Hopefully, we'll get some action around these here parts.
-
Action - that's what we need.
-
Action and Baby John and A-Rab.
-
What am I, the Jets all of a sudden?
-
Well, we made it to page eight.
-
I happen to know this because page eight has made its entrance.
-
George is being obstreperous.
-
That's a long word.
-
Will he just not show up at all?
-
Has he forsaken us in the midnight hour?
-
I came close to ordering some California Roll but thankfully did not.
-
Calling all Georges.
-
Nope, no George, Sad, sad, sad.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
