Well, you've read the notes, the notes told the fairy tale The Fall That Thought It Was Summer, and now it is time for you to post until the Fall cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GOSSAMER!
-
I was literally just about to post this when yesterday got locked:
Congratulations on your 39,000 millstone, Ron!
Congrats, Ron! I don't (yet) know if anyone captured it, but I was able to get this during my rehearsal tonight last night:

I am so sorry about last (a She Loves Me reference)! We had a full run-through for the costume, light and music designers. For lunch, my friend Shelly and I went to Panda Express, and I tried their new (time-limited) Blazing Bourbon Chicken (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theimpulsivebuy.com/wordpress/2024/09/05/panda-express-hot-ones-blazing-bourbon-chicken-review/amp/). It wasn't horribly hot, but I liked it and thought it was quite tasty. I'll definitely order tgat again. Anyway, when I got home, I was planning on eating the leftover chow mein that I still have, but lost track of time while ketchuping on e-mails and game-playing on my phone. ::) I didn't even remember to eat the chow mein.

Good morning, all!
-
The past twelve hours have not been good. I turned off the lights around 8:45, slept rather well until 11:30, when I needed a bathroom break. I went back to bed, cuddled with Thatch, and had a long dream I swore I would never forget, and I have completely forgotten it. I needed another break around 3:30, and then spent the next two hours wide awake, listening to the cats romp and wishing I cpould get back to sleep. The alarm rang at 5:30.
-
I got dressed, turned on the TV and computer, dealt with emails, and just after 6:00, I headed for the kitchen to feed the cats. I don't know what happened this time - the cane slipped, my hand sltpped on something on the table I used to support myself, but I lost my balance and fell to the floor; There's no serious injury, thank God, but it took me 10-15 minutes to assess my condition and determine the best method to get off the floor.
-
Unfortunately, I've spilled water all over the floor, terrified the cats, and I haver a mess to clean up. I was in a pretty good mood at 5:30, and now I'm a bit terrified about my future and health and furious iver the mess I've got to clean up.

Ha! My horoscope for today: You may feel slightly uncertain on your feet today, darling Virgo, as the Libra moon and Pluto square off.
-
Sorry, DR elmore3003. {{{HUGS}}}
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
With an emphasis on the latter.
-
Who knew that the hardest part of being an adult is figuring out what to cook for dinner every single night for the rest of your life until you die?
-
I am glad you were able to be so productive yesterday, DR Jrand74! Especially if you will be home-bound today.

Hot asphalt is HOT.

Be careful not to polka hole in your tire.

Glad you will finally get your eyes looked at, BK.

~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!!!
-
And the big trucks are rolling into the neighborhood!
-
DR ELMORE thanks for the warning for us Virgo folks.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Not a great night of sleep. An amber alert went off at about 4:30. I was awake for more than an hour after.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I guess I’m a standing member of the not-great-night-of-sleep club.
Mine was to be expected with the cold and all, but it actually wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t have such swelling in my throat or whatever the soft tissues are back there, because it’s tricky staying comfortable in positions that support easier breathing.
-
Hugs for Elmore.
-
Congrats, Ron, on your posting plateau.
TOD
Nothing now, but two nights ago I had been reading something about Roman Polanski’s The Tenant (1976) and I watched every one of the extra features on the Blu-ray, all of which are wonderful and worthy of attention, then I watched the first twenty minutes of the movie. It’s always held a special place in my pea-pickin’ little heart. Now I want to watch some more Polanski films that I haven’t seen in ages.
Do you have to throw out the chow mein? (Doesn't chow mean get a bit gummy when reheated if kept in the fridge too long?)
Vibes of feeling less scared to Larry!
Who knew that the hardest part of being an adult is figuring out what to cook for dinner every single night for the rest of your life until you die?
Maybe that what's Postmates/Uber Eats, ChowNow and DoorDash were made for? :)
Glad you will finally get your eyes looked at, BK.
Amen to that!
So Mia Farrow got Covid and was out of THE ROOMMATE and performances had to be cancelled three weeks ago.
Then Patti LuPone got Covid and was out of THE ROOMMATE and performances had to be cancelled this past Saturday, six days ago.
And as if this couldn't get more complicated, Patti LuPone has a concert scheduled for tonight (Friday) in Chicago that had been booked before she even agreed to be part of THE ROOMMATE, so that's a scheduled absence from THE ROOMMATE.
https://www.lyricopera.org/shows/upcoming/2024-25/Patti-LuPone-A-Life-in-Notes/
For the sake of those THE ROOMMATE investors, hoping insurance covers star absences due to Covid!
The asphalt truck with the spigots in the back is driving up and down the street - but not leaving any black top behind......
"The Asphalt Truck with the Spigots in the Back" - That could be the title of a gritty update to "The Surrey With the Fringe on Top"
More rehearsal vibes (and commute vibes) for George!
Who knew that the hardest part of being an adult is figuring out what to cook for dinner every single night for the rest of your life until you die?
;D
-
I remember when cooking was one of my passions as well as baking.
-
Years of cooking dinners ended that.
-
My shoulder injury ended my joy of baking, including bread.
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
-
And the asphalt is now flowing free......not abundantly, however.
I have to get the new Covid booster, but not till I'm over this cold. It's already feeling better, but I'd vowed to take a Covid test this morning. We'd just received the latest free shipment of four tests, but I'd also been putting off checking the dates on the hoard of tests left over from when the world was giving them out free every month. So I got the stash out and went through them on https://v.gd/c4domw
The extended date on every single one was long past, except for one brand that expired only two months ago. (Don't even ask about the other ones.) So as not to waste ALL of them, I decided to take a test with one of the two-month old ones, then repeat tomorrow with a new one. You should take it twice anyway, but thankfully it was negative.
So based on the dates, we're throwing away 31 (!) tests and keeping ten, only four of which are up-to-the-minute current. A little sad, but I guess there's nothing wrong with not having needed to use all of those over the last couple of years.
-
I expect the recently expired one is still good. It worked for our neighbor and then we gave him an unexpired test that also came up positive.
-
I do, too. Those are just too recent to have no faith in them and toss them onto the trash heap.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about six hours of sleep. Not enough.
-
Still no credit back refund has shown up from our host. I spoke to PayPal yesterday, who told me it should never take over twenty-four hours. We're currently at about forty hours.
-
Obviously, something is wrong somewhere and of course no one responds to me.
-
Very frustrating.
-
Also, the package that was guaranteed for delivery today is now guaranteed for delivery for October 11th. Absolutely infuriating.
-
And with no explanation.
-
That's like the man at Menard's who told me that they have free appliance delivery - for $50.
I went back to Lowes.
-
Good morning.
I had to mop the floor and do what I could this morning to clean up the mess. My breakfast was a cup of coffee.
-
Around 8:30, I did kitty cleanup, then mopped the floor. I sent Joshie an email telling him I was not doing well and I was going back to bed. Around 10:00 I took two gabapenten and lay down with alhree cats. Around 2:00, I got up and vacuumemopped area, Then I fed the cats. I made myself a very tasty Swiss-mushroom omelet. I still hurt like hell.
I've had reheated chow mein and it was good enough...for me, at least. ;)
I'd read that even very expired tests are accurate, if one gets a positive result. It does mean that how're positive. However, if you get a negative result from an expired test, you would need to take another test with one that is within the Best By date to confirm.
Yeah, my "primary" and others there take a dim view of the home tests. EXCEPT when they're positive. But they've retested many people who were negative at home and positive in the lab.
Gratuitous post 100!
I have been listening and listening and listening to Ketanji Brown Jackson's autobiography, Lovely One. I have spent 15+ hours with a very earnest nerd who is guilty of overwriting. I like her but I have spent enough time with her.
And there's still three hours to go.
-
Getting ready to reach for Reacher.
Is Reacher reachable?
Are bleachers bleachable?
Reacher season two isn't as good as season one, IMO. So said after 1.5 episodes.
DR Laura, have you ever been there?
We are now back in Utah.
We are in Kanob, staying at the Parry Lodge. Many movies were filmed in this town and lots of actors stayed at the lodge.
I have eaten antelopel. Does that count?
-
Or Paige Davis
Or, Paige Davis Page...after she married...and she was still host of "Trading Spaces" which had a bit of a fling on TV before it fizzled out.
-
I watched a movie on Sony/HD channel last night that I had not seen since it first came out in the late 1980s.
The movie is "Suspect" starring Cher, Dennis Quaid, Liam Neesom, Joe Mantegna and John Mahoney.
It still has a certain zing with several of the key stars looking very young and attractive. Not a "great" film, but very entertaining. Its twisted ending is its great weakness since it comes completely out of nowhere and gave us no clues until it happened.
-
Today was one week after the hurricane struck.
There are still lots of folks without power, some without water, and many wanting somewhere to take a hot shower and wash clothes.
Various agencies have set up such places for them, and that's a blessing for them even though they resent the lines in which they must wait.
-
I wonder if antelope eat canteloupe?
I have eaten antelopel. Does that count?
How was it?
I have had a buffalo burger...once...during a visit to Santa Fe. It was okay...not as gamey as I feared, but not "beef" by any stretch of the imagination.
-
Tasted like venison. Warthog tasted like pork.
-
Camel, which I had in a burger, appropriately at Christmas tasted sweet. Not very appealing.
Caribou, or reindeer, also served at Christmas, was like beefier venison.
-
An Irish pub in Florida always served rabbit at Easter.
-
Not sure what I think of this sense of humor.
-
Going plant shopping way too early tomorrow.
-
Good night, all.
