Well, you've read the notes, the notes had seven toes, and now it is time for you to post until the zombified cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INITIATIVE!
-
I was just about to post this last night:
The third HM CD is I Am Harvey Milk (https://www.amazon.com/Am-Harvey-Milk-Andrew-Lippa/dp/B00IY0JNBU/) by Andrew Lippa. :)

Good morniong, all!
-
I slept rather well. The cats behaved nicely, although Thatch still insists I am sleeping in his bed.
-
This morning, at some point, Joshie is brionging me several GYPSY numbers. Before then, I must take a lot of trash to the basement and pick up a mess that Annabelle created yesterday.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
A half-decent night of sleep.
-
Which ended sooner than I would have liked.
-
.
-
Chocolate-covered pretzels would be nice.
-
The cats and I spent the weekend watching all three seasons of Heartstopper. Season 3 got much darker than I ever expected. I missed Olivia Colman in Season 3, but I really enjoyed the series.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept okay. Don't remember much of the dreams, except they were in color, which is a response to an article on whether we dream in color or black and white. The answer is yes to both.
-
Monday.
It is 50 degrees here....and that is fine with me.
-
Not so well-known fact about Samuel L. Jackson -
He had been a security guard many years ago, here in our little building complex of Manhattan Plaza

Groan.
-
Today is our last day in Vegas.
-
We enjoyed a nice dinner with family and will meet them for breakfast today.
-
After breakfast we will return to our hotel, park, and then take the monorail to one of the big hotels with a mall.
-
I almost wish we would spending one more night here. If so, from our window we could watch the fireworks and the demolition of the Tropicana Hotel.
-
Joshie has just left. He brought me "If Mama was married" and the instrumental No. 4 "Seattle to Los Angeles."
-
Instrumental No. 4 is a cousin to Chromolume No. 5?
-
The cranberry pistachio cake is in the oven. The recipe says it needs 2.5 hours to bake. I am using a tube pan, though, so I doubt it will take that long.
-
Rodzinski, Church’s Chicken started here in San Antonio. I’m not a fan. Not big on Jolibee’s gravy, either; but I like their chicken. Popeyes is my favorite.
-
OMG DR JANE......the demolition of the Tropicana would certainly be iconic.
-
I made some chirozo meatballs today.....or at least that's what I call them.
They are most excellent for me......with a little added salt.
-
Interesting factoid from DR FREDDIE today.
Didn't Mr. Samuel L. Jackson have a part on Pee Wee's Playhouse.....or am I hallucinating.....again.
-
Page Two is most unseemly.
-
With these temperatures.....I may have to put on some LONG pants.
-
Let me ask a question.....for those of us of a certain age......when did you first get a COLOR tv?
-
DR ELMORE that is one of my favorite songs of the score.....If Mama Were Married...I even like it in the movie.
-
The pair of keets are very quiet today.
Elvis is on the swing and Priscilla in on a perch.....both grooming themselves quietly.
-
I think they are pulling out feathers in order to get their winter coats.
-
MR BK will not be happy with Page Two.
-
But after all, it is October.
-
Which reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes.....from Bachelor in Paradise.
Janis Paige: I'll make us a couple of martinis.
Bob Hope: Isn't it a little early for martinis?
Janis Paige: Early? It's October!
-
Interesting factoid from DR FREDDIE today.
Didn't Mr. Samuel L. Jackson have a part on Pee Wee's Playhouse.....or am I hallucinating.....again.
That was Laurence Fishburne.
-
Which reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes.....from Bachelor in Paradise.
Janis Paige: I'll make us a couple of martinis.
Bob Hope: Isn't it a little early for martinis?
Janis Paige: Early? It's October!
Love it.
-
With these temperatures.....I may have to put on some LONG pants.
Going to be in the 90s again.
-
Starting Juarez. But I would rather take a nap. Got at least 20 more minutes for the cake to bake.

I love the bit with Janis Paige at 1:35 here in the "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" trailer

-
Would anyone then in 1960 have imagined that there were not that many years until a time when Doris Day would star in films where someone else would be singing the title song?
-
MR BK will not be happy with Page Two.
Maybe we can get to Page Three before he logs in?
-
He might like Page Three better than Page Two.
-
Meanwhile "179 Guests are viewing this board" - which may be good news for page views
-
But we might as well get to Page Three
-
Page Three!
-
Let me ask a question.....for those of us of a certain age......when did you first get a COLOR tv?
I believe I was 12 when Dad decided to break the bank and get a color TV
We kids were very excited to see the NBC peacock
-
I am not caught up
-
Sorry to have been so E& T, I've been crazy busy trying to get ready for the kids' visit
-
vixmom, you're only about ten posts from a very nice millstone!
-
They arrived quite late Friday night, after 11
-
Saturday morning we attended a memorial service for Vixhubby's mother, who passed in July.
-
So excited for the visit!
-
Then while the kids attended family gathering celebrating her life, vixdad and I went off for a diner breakfast
-
Then I went shopping for the baptism party to be held on the next day ( yesterday)
-
DR FREDDIE.....thanks for the link....indeed. I only wish ANYONE else ANYONE else had been Doris's costar in the film.
I am NOT a David Niven fan.
-
DR VIXMOM is bizzy!
-
Then I went to set up the sanctuary for the baptism which was held at 9 am
-
It is now 66 degrees here.....and I am enjoying it.....
-
And waiting for the inner web to go down AGAIN.
-
Oh....67 degrees!
I may have to put on some long pants.....or did I already post that?

I was assisting minister and vixdad held the godparents/sponsors
-
They were in Florida so they attended virtually, vixdad held the phone so they could take part via video call
-
Then , after the service, after resetting for the next service, we went into the lounge to have our pictures taken for the church directory.
-
74,000!

Congratulations, Vixmom.

Stirring from a nap.

TOD: Pulp Fiction, definitely. He's been in a lot of fine movies with excellent performances, but that one is particularly memorable for me.

He's on Tamiami between downtown and the airport. It's a well-built senior complex so they usually don't evacuate.

I'm up, I'm up - despite the pounding and generator noise from the property down and across the street, which began at eight, I do believe I slept for - drum roll - twelve hours.

Of course, I'm groggy and gucky, but I needed that and could use another day of it.

Silly, but it's a post.
-
I was going to go to Gelson's to get something for food, but I do have pasta here so I may end up making that.
-
Or maybe I WILL go to Gelson's.
-
Or maybe I won't.
-
Of course, the noise from the idiots across the street is now done.
-
What else is new?
-
Page five must be lurking in the wings?
-
See? Gaslighting, always gaslighting.
-
If gaslighting happens at meetings of the Screen Actors Guild, would that be called SAG-Lighting?
-
Rodzinski, Church’s Chicken started here in San Antonio. I’m not a fan. Not big on Jolibee’s gravy, either; but I like their chicken. Popeyes is my favorite.
The Church’s logo at the one I was at said “Texas fried chicken.” That was the first I’d heard Texas was involved.

I briefly delivered Meals On Wheels to the Manhattan Plaza, before I ever knew anyone who lived in it like DR Freddie.

Cissy Houston has died. Mother of Whitney. No relation to John Huston.
She was wonderful in Taking My Turn.

But you were friends with Samuel Jackson, right?
-
Juarez is an odd movie from today’s perspective. It is a history story, albeit with some Hollywood stereotypes. It would never be made today.

Skip also used to deliver meals to the homebound in Manhattan Plaza, years back.

I left The Caveman's Valentine and Eve's Bayou off my Jackson list. Two great performances.
-
Thank you Michael G for saving my post!
-
Thank you all for the nice words about the baptism
-
Anyway ( if any stills cares, or ever did)
After the photo taking we went to the coffee hour so the Vixter could make the rounds and show off Vixson.
-
They were greeted with appropriate oohs and aaahs and we left some 20 minutes later very happy
-
We went back to our house where we changed into jeans and T’s ( the kids wanted a very casual party , Vixter took Vixson off for a feed and a nap and Vixhubby and I headed back to the church to start unloading stuff , set up tables and decorate
-
God bless them, we were met by 4 of their high school friends who took over all the heavy lifting and decorating and left me to pickup the fresh food trays and prepare the food table
-
We “catered” the meal through Costco and BJs ( both are close by) and we were very well satisfied
-
BJs offers a mini croissant sandwich platter, 30 sandwiches, 10 each of roast beef, ham and Turkey
-
I ordered three and requested they divide them up with each tray having thirty of the same sandwich , which they kindly accommodated
-
BJ’s also supplied two cookie/brownie platters , one of which ended up at the office today
-
Costco provided the cake, ( vanilla with vanilla mouse filling and vanilla butter cream icing), and makings for a large salad , two vegetable platters and two fruit platters ( well actually two grape platters, green, red and black seedless )
-
We had about 45 guests and except for one cookie plate which never was opened, nearly everything was consumed.
-
The wonderful friends stayed to the very end to clean everything up ,fold up and put away the tables and chairs and carry whatever needed to be carried back out to my car
-
I do love those kids
-
( yikes they’re all in their early 30’s!!)

It does look like he's here.
There were police around the theater's building when we left after rehearsal, so a few of us stood around and watched to see if anything was going to happen.
-
Nothing did so we left. ::)
-
I wrote them.
-
We had a good rehearsal. We ran act one twice.
-
We also changed where the act break is, so that there will be only two acts instead of the original three, although nothing in the script is changed. Each act is written to start at the exact place where the previous acts end.
-
After I got back to Tumwater, I went to Fred Meyer and got gas $3.749/gallon.
-
With the Fred Meyer rewards card discount, I only got 3¢/gallon off, so I paid $3.719.
-
One time, I had spent enough at FM to get 65¢/gallon off!
-

Excellent photo! Thanks for posting it here, Jrand!
-
So I guess this is where we post today.
I guess so.

It is confusing at first ;D

Thanks for posting this. It was extremely interesting and beautiful.
-
It is 46 degrees.
Plus 50.
We are leaving the high temps and heading to 64 degrees. I would prefer it interesting 70's.
-
When we drove through The Valley of Fire on the way to Vegas I had hoped to take the 6 mile scenic loop. At 105 degrees, and with concerns the car might overheat (a light occasionally flashed) we stayed on the main road.
-
Vegas will finally be under 100 degrees as we are departing.
-
It is a steamy 64 degrees here...with clear skies.
-
The notes for today are up.
SPOO!! :o BK forgot to open a new day of posts!

Did Jane gamble? Did Keith?
I did not. Keith did and won.
Congrats to Keith!

Listening to music.
Someone posted this YouTube video on FB's Finishing the Chat group: Chita Rivera's Club Act (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z73nR3YhV_A)!
Thanks for that link. Excellent find!
You're welcome, Freddie!

Still Tuesday, I see…

Should somebody check on BK?
-
12 hours of sleep yesterday. Still sleeping, no daily message change. Where you at, Boss?
-
Should somebody check on BK?
He did post the new Notes. Hoping he just forgot to lock yesterday's posts and open the new day for posting.
-
Yes, new notes read, all that. Meanwhile yesterday’s still today, and tomorrow’s on its way.
-
Good - whatever it is, it's afternoon now, right?, everyone.
In HHW day-changing time, I'm probably posting this in the middle of the night.
-
I'm back from playing a funeral -- where it should be noted that I stalwartly resisted the urge to include "That's Your Funeral" in the musical selections.

Keith got Wordle in three today.

Scored Love Life tickets at Encores for March 28. They seem to be going fast.
-
I admire your restraint DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Won't MR BK be surprised when he arises!!!
-
Now that I have donated my $10 to Harris/Walz......I am getting inundated with requests for more $$$$.
-
Tim Walz just sent me an email that says "I haven't given a lot of speeches in my life - but I've given a lot of pep talks."
But $10 is all they'll get from me.

That's good economics, but awful bad for love.

So sorry about not changing the day. George showed up late, JUST as I was about to, so I left it open so he could post about the day, forgot, and went to bed as I needed to. New deal. All bets are off after midnight, especially while I'm trying to catch up on sleep. My advice, show up before midnight.
