Well, you've read the notes, the notes weren't much, and now it is time for you to post until the not much cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUBLIME!

First post in the morning!
That hasn't happened in years, IIRC.
-
40 Guests already - and at 7:30 a.m. (Eastern time) on a Sunday!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR Iris has returned! That's cause for a celebration. Welcome back. You've been missed.
-
Yesterday, Joshie came by, picked up "Baby June and her Newsboys" and left me the Act Two Strip Sequence, which went through a million changes and alterations, including the loss of a song, "Three wishes for Christmas." The piano-vocal score goes its own way, so that further complicates the issue.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am still amazed -- flabbergasted, even -- at the scope of the GYPSY restoration.
-
Interesting interview with Mitzi Gaynor.
At around 0:22, she addresses why she quit movies
"Mitzi Gaynor: 'I quit film because I was ordinary in them.'"

I am still amazed -- flabbergasted, even -- at the scope of the GYPSY restoration.
Same here. But hoping the restoration makes it easier for the score to be played as originally intended?
-
Good morning.
-
Yesterday we saw the tour of Funny Girl. Loved it. It was great to see a good old-fashioned musical again. The last couple of seasons have been mostly disappointing.
-
When Nicky Arnstein walked onstage (looking like Brent Barrett), my first thought was that he looks just like Gaylord Ravenal and I knew he was going to be trouble.
-
Gaylords always are DR LAURA.
-
I did not have a fun day yesterday.
I am hoping I feel better today.
-
I and Velma ain't dumb.
Have a good time at the movie MR BK.
-
I downloaded the clip that DR GEORGE posted last night.

It is 43 degrees here now headed for 72 degrees.....

Sending you vibes for a better day today.

Good morning, friends.

And others.

Who decides these things?

Dr John G., I was reading The New York Times Book Review this morning. Having just finished a complete Hitchcock traversal, it seems you might enjoy "The Hitchcock Hotel" by Stephanie Wrobel.
-
John Kenrick did a pretty detailed analysis of fact vs. fiction in FUNNY GIRL.
https://www.musicals101.com/brice.htm
Among the many interesting bits about Nick Arnstein.
"Both the play and movie were produced by Fanny Brice's son in law, Ray Stark, who had the unenviable task of appeasing Fanny's surviving family and associates -- including Nick Arnstein. With Nick only too eager to initiate a lawsuit, Stark had to reshape history. And as Nick's character was fictionalized, other aspects of the story had to change too."
"Nick Arnstein "gorgeous"? Oy vey! Compared to who William Howard Taft? He may have been sophisticated, and at 6'6" he towered over most men, but he was not a beauty."
"Funny Girl depicts Arnstein as a classy gambler who turned to crime because he didn't want to live on Fanny's money. Not so! Nick was a common criminal and had no qualms about sponging off Fanny for their entire marriage. Before meeting her, he had already been arrested for swindling in three European countries. Shortly after they met (and before their marriage), he was jailed for wiretapping. The lovesick Fanny visited him weekly in Sing Sing, so she knew what he was long before they exchanged vows."

I have debated that one. I may try it. But first up is the new Michael Connelly.

Interesting notes, DR Freddie.

We played bells this morning. It went well. I'm glad because we played It Is Well with My Soul.
-
‘Twill be a day borrowed from heaven.

Actually, with the endless rains brought by this “atmospheric river,” ‘twill probably be a day glummer than gloomy.

Last night I went to a Canadian VFW hall and saw a fun cover band. They played all the crowd-pleasing pop hits of the last 50 years. I danced, it was a fun time.

That sounds terrific!
-
Interesting notes, DR Freddie.
Interesting that the musical version seems to be taken as fact.
-
But I realized after posting it that it should have been at least four or five posts. :)
-
I wonder if there's way to make up for that.
-
More Fanny.
-
Sounds like a fun evening DR RODZINSKI.
-
I enjoyed DR RON PULLIAM's story about Ernest Gold.

Good morning! It's Festive Fall Favorites: New Releases for the Season on this week's Broadway Radio Show. Six new cast recordings and six new vocalist recordings to sample!!!

I only do that now when I am traveling in a different time zone.

Yesterday we saw the tour of Funny Girl. Loved it. It was great to see a good old-fashioned musical again. The last couple of seasons have been mostly disappointing.

I wonder if there will be an updated published vocal score.

That's great, Laura.
-
Next year, the Washington Center is going to get a tour of Dear Evan Hanson.
-
I didn't love the movie, but I know I'll enjoy the experience of seeing the show live (assuming I'll be assigned to usher), even if I end up not loving the show itself.

I did not have a fun day yesterday.

Wow. That was quite interesting! You know that musicals based on real people are fictionalized, but it's always surprising just how fictional they turn out to be!

Whoever now controls my hacked Facebook page posted last week: "This life is too hard for living. Please leave one word that describes me to you!"
Of course I am blocked from seeing ANYTHING on the page.....former DR MBARNUM sent me a FB message and said some mutual friends were contacting him....I asked him to tell them to friend me at my NEW FB page - Jackrandall Earles.
If anyone else still has access to that page you might write there that the comment and ANYTHING written on that page is NOT from me. But please don't put my NEW FB Page ID on it
THANKS

I am shocked that I did not know "The Waiting" was to be released, and then that it had been released.
-
I am now 216th in my library queue.
-
Fortunately the library has 22 copies of this book.
-
In less than an hour I dropped from 217th in the queue. Maybe the line will move quickly :)

LOL. It missed the part about wearing shorts or bathing suits.

Thanks, Freddie, for the Funny Girl information.
-
I guess he couldn't sue over things that were true. But they made him into a dashing scoundrel, which I guess he couldn't complain about too much.
-
Yesterday we saw the tour of Funny Girl. Loved it. It was great to see a good old-fashioned musical again. The last couple of seasons have been mostly disappointing.
That's great! It was about time you saw a show you loved.
I loved last month's Mrs. Doubtfire, which surprised me. I usually don't like the 70's and 80's movies made into musicals. But Mrs. Doubtfire was hilarious. I hadn't had so much fun at the theater in a long time.
-
:)
-
Thank you for the theater repor, DR Laura.
-
Today was the first time in a while that I haven't had any responsibilities at church.
Then I was slipped a note asking if I'd do nursery duty, since someone didn't show up.
-
Darn, but I know you like those little ones ;)
-
Good night, friends.

That’s to the beef fizz

I hope Jack had a better day

Today I went to church for the 9 am service, where I served as communion assistant.
I was serving the wine, following the Pastor, there was a little boy, about 6 who attends with his dad each week.
When we have a child at the communion rail who hasn’t yet made their first communion Pastor makes the sign of the cross on their forehead and says a blessing.
After receiving his blessing the child reached up and made the sign of the cross on Pastors forehead and whispered the blessing .
When I reached him he did the same to me
-
Made my whole day
-
When older folks say, "Enjoy them while they're young," they're referring to your knees and hips, not your children.
:) Funny but real!
-
After the service and my altar duties I headed over to the Sunday School wing.
-
Thanks, Freddie, for the Funny Girl information.
You're welcome.
-
Today we held our first ever “ trunk or treat” event

We don’t have our own parking lot, so for safety’s sake we held the event in our Sunday school wing, where all participants were assigned a classroom.
-
We decorated the doors and handed out treats.
-
I handed out pretzels, Oreo cookies and pencils

Made my whole day

By time I put everything away it was nearly time for my 3 pm zoom

That lasted until after 5

So I made dinner for Vixdad and myself

Hamburgers and beans

Followed by warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream
-
And tea

Good night, Jane

Because no one can ever watch enough TV, right?

I am no one to judge given how many movies I watch.

Interesting reviews of Sunset Blvd. The star seems amazing, but the director is getting mixed reviews. The show itself is also getting mixed reviews. I don't recall the show getting positive reviews the first time around.
-
Good night, all.

Hello, dear crew.
-
Page six? Again?
-
I've been nauseous since eating some bad orange chicken.
-
A lot about West Side Story in the notes.
-
And the two other stinkers I watched.
-
I dozed off for a bit, too.
-
But really, page SIX?
-
We're slowing down to a crawl.
-
Got us the BEST pianist replacement for the holiday show - the amazing John Boswell.
-
We decorated the doors and handed out treats.
That's pretty cool.
-
I handed out pretzels, Oreo cookies and pencils
And so is that!
-
What else?
-
George has finally shown up.
-
Followed by warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream
Yum!
-
That might help, as long as he's eaten his burrito.
-
We really must get off this damn page and onto another damn page.
-
But here we are.
-
Stuck.
-
I've been nauseous since eating some bad orange chicken.
Oh, no! :P
-
Well, we ARE close.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
Got us the BEST pianist replacement for the holiday show - the amazing John Boswell.
Congrats, BK!
-
See?
-
The page that shall not be named has arrived.
-
It is here.
-
That might help, as long as he's eaten his burrito.
No burrito tonight...I had lasagna. :)
-
There can be no doubt about it.
-
But is shall NOT be named.
-
And it was quite tasty!
-
Blamed, yes, named, NEVER.
-
Shamed, yes, named NEVER.
-
The page that shall not be named has arrived.
But seven you-know-what is a lucky number!
-
Framed, yes, named NEVER.
-
I'll probably watch something whilst the tummy calms down.
-
I just might.
-
Today's An Inspector Calls cue-to-cue went fairly well.
-
I think the tummy might be calming down.
-
We only took about three and a half hours, so that was good.
-
I should be playing Inspector Goole.
-
I think the tummy might be calming down.
Very good news!
-
And yet, I am not.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
I knew nothing about the show before I was asked to stage manage...only heard of it.
-
Is there no getting off this damn page?
-
I don't like it here.
-
I like it there.
-
The lighting designer was there, as was the sound designer.
-
Not here.
-
Well.
-
They were both working on their respective computers, finalizing cues, so that I'll get them either tomorrow or Tuesday.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Page eight has made its very welcome entrance.
-
It really has and in the nick of time.
-
Here's our poster:

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Does your production have RAIN?
-
It's interesting...there's nothing in our production, either in the script or sound or action, that indicates that it's raining, but the poster shows the man in rain. Weird.
-
Does your production have RAIN?
Nope. :-\
-
The Inspector arrives totally dry, and the characters of Eric and Gerald go outside and come back in during the show, but neither is wet, either.
-
The Stephen Daldry production on B'way was one of the best things I've ever seen - amazing set, rained the entire play - I don't mean out the window, I mean full on rain onstage. They had a string quartet - with Bernard Herrmann music, if memory serves. And what a cast: Philip Bosco, Rosemary Harris, Jane Adams, and the brilliant Kenneth Cranham as Inspector Goole.
-
You can see snippets of it on YouTube - check it out.
-
I have no idea why it's raining on the poster.

I will. I've found a couple of community productions on YouTube, also.
