Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both bleary and blurry, and now it is time for you to post until the bleary and blurry cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ELEVATE!

Good morning, all!
-
I am very sleepy this morning. It took me forever to get to sleep last night. The cats behaved, but I couldn't relax and drop off to sleep.
-
I will work on "Gotta Have a Gimmick" today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Off to work
-
I think my favorite Anthony Hopkins performance on DVD is his Pierre in the epic BBC War and Peace, which I think I will watch again when I finish Suits. I'm now on Season 5.

A nap is really just a horizontal life pause.

The word "wawa" is derived from the Native American word for "wild goose." You can see it in the company's logo.

It's 7:23am, and it's still pitch black outside.

Good morning, all.

Had a better sleep than the night before.
With the windows open, even. But our beautiful Indian Summer draws to a close today.
-
Tonight, our last rehearsal till Sunday evening. This week we only had three of the four girls due to one being in tech week for another production. But we will have touched every song in the show with the other three, and she's a fast learner.

MMM vibes for MR BK.

DR JOHN G are you sitting at the table or are you walking folks to the machine?

The Repor:
Holding (stubbornly? - seems like it's supposed to be trending downward) at $2.79.
That's at BJ's. Those with their credit card would pay 15 cents less.

I am now caught up on all the daily Notes I missed.

Attendant buns. That should be the title of something-or-other.

I'd never heard of this concept before: Using paid sick leave to care for pets?
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/23/nyregion/new-york-sick-leave-pets.html
"Councilman Shaun Abreu is introducing a bill that would require employers in New York City to let workers use their paid sick leave to take care of pets and service animals."
-
From DR George:
The description for the video lists the cast:
...The cast included (among others) Betsy Joslyn, George Hearn, Edmund Lyndeck, Peter Gallagher, Penny Orloff, Barbara Lang, Norman A. Large, and David Seaman. Hal Prince directed the show, with Larry Fuller doing choreography
Cool.

I like this.

I remember calling the Middle school to let them know Bryan would not be in because his gerbil died. I finally had to firmly say that he would not be going to school that day.

Great performance. Only saw 30 minutes of Lear last night.

DR JOHN G are you sitting at the table or are you walking folks to the machine?
Yes.

It’s going up to 88 today.

DR JOHN G are you sitting at the table or are you walking folks to the machine?
Yes.
Does that mean you're doing both the sitting and the walking parts?
-
That's what I'm guessing.

It is 76 degrees here with a nice breeze......

I am trying to remember my question for ASK BK DAY.

I've had a nice bath with no slips or falls, so I'm very pleased.

I must now learn the difference betweeen a nephrologist and urologist. Don't ask.

Good afternoon.

Hi Laura!
-
Page Three!
-
Back from the Arboretum - nice place, too darn hot, hall will be fine for our show. Went to get back on the freeway home - onramp closed. Went west on a major street to the next entrance - onramp closed. Same for the next one. At that point I had two choices - go berserk, usually that's my default, or enable GPS to take me home. I chose the latter. Since it by-passed every single onramp for the next ten miles until I was at the final onramp before moving out of Pasadena, I assume something untoward was/is going on.
-
Stopped at the mail place - no package slips.
-
Came home to a notification that a small package was delivered this morning. I cannot stand that sort of thing - truly irritating. I'm now gonna have to go back there after I eat some food. Like I really want to do that.

Meet the dark-eyed Junco.

Juncos in different parts of the country look so different from one another that they were once considered separate species.

Can you set up notifications from tracking so you know when something has been delivered?

My father-in-law used to leave the bathroom saying, "It's all urine."

Maybe I didn't need to share that.

But it's a post.

DR singdaw has reached the MILLSTONE.
Congratulations, singdaw, on your millstone!

In the effort to get off of page 3, that felt totally worth sharing.

So...this is my stage manager's perch:
-
I was on my way to WFO’s after work but I didn’t quite make it
-
As I was heading there suddenly my left rear tire started making an ungodly noise
-
I was right by the mall so I pulled into the parking lot and took a look and saw nothing untowards
-
So...this is my stage manager's perch:
Nice.
-
As I was heading there suddenly my left rear tire started making an ungodly noise
Oh no!
-
'night
-
I keeping kneeling pads in the van just for things of this nature so I got down on my knees and looked all around but could see no reason for the noise
-
As soon as I tried to move the noise came back .
-
Just then I saw a man standing by his car finishing his cigarette so I asked him to look at the tire while I pulled forward to see if he saw anything
-
I moved about a foot when he yelled , “stop!”
-
He saw a piece of metal stuck in the tire, which must have been at the bottom of the tire when I looked earlier
-
On closer inspection it looked like a big eyelet screw
-
Fortunately I was in the back of the mall where few cars park so I moved the car to a very empty spot right under a light post
-
I love your stories, DR vixmom, but they almost always sound expensive.
-
(and not in a good way)
-
Then I called my AAA emergency number where I was greeted by the AI attendant
-
However it did send me a link to my phone that allowed me to put in a service call
-
Then I called WFO to let him know I wasn’t going to make it and Vixdad to let him know what was happening
-
The AI called me back to tell me the service would be there in an hour, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from a real live human in less than 20 minutes.
-
He told me he was the tire guy and asked exactly where I was in the parking lot.
-
So I described the area, and went out and put up the hood and the rear hatch
-
“Ah, I see you!” He said and then I saw the tire repair truck heading towards me
-
I had already opened up the hatch where the “donut” lives, and he very quickly changed the tire and put the flat into the back of the van
-
I gave him $10 and went merrily on my way home
-
Tomorrow morning I plan to pop by my car place to see if they can plug the tire and put it back before I go to work
-
I am so relieved that it was relatively painless, DR vixmom.
-
Tomorrow morning I plan to pop by my car place to see if they can plug the tire and put it back before I go to work
Are you going to arrive with another box o' donuts?
-
I will probably get a dozen donuts as a
bribe inducement.
-
Last night I went into The City to see a friend play in a cover band at The Cutting Room.
-
I met a couple of other friends there.
-
It’s a nice venue with tables and dinner service
-
I ordered the latkes with apple bourbon sauce and sour cream as my appetizer.
-
It came with 4 nice latkes , 2 of which I ate and 2 of which I saved for later
-
For my main dish I had eggplant parmigiana which was served with a delicious meat sauce over linguine
-
I ate about half of that and then packed the rest and the extra latkes in a takeaway box
-
The leftovers made a delicious lunch today
-
The violence in the Anthony Hopkins Lear is scary stuff, especially the scene where Emily Watson blinds Jim Broadbent.
-
The show was fun and we hung around a bit and chatted with our musician friend
-
Then we walked back to Penn where I was pleased to find my train home was already on the track quite near to where we entered
-
I was home shortly after midnight
-
Let copulation thrive.
I always forget that great line comes from Lear.
-
The violence in the Anthony Hopkins Lear is scary stuff, especially the scene where Emily Watson blinds Jim Broadbent.
What?
Not Jim Broadbent!
-
I quite like him
-
I am quite squeamish about violence on screen (small or big screens).
-
So it sounds like not the thing for me to watch.
-
PAGE SIX
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Yes, his Gloucester is excellent. So is Andrew Scott as Edgar. I'm fact, every actor is really fine. But the truncated script is the film's undoing.
-
Still the emotional level is high. When Lear meet Cordelia (Florence Pugh) later, it's heartbreaking.
-
As I was heading there suddenly my left rear tire started making an ungodly noise
Oh, no! :o
-
So...this is my stage manager's perch:
Nice.
Thanks. It feels a bit precarious, but I'll get used to it...eventually.
-
I haven't taken a picture of the ladder yet, but here's what I see just before going down the ladder:
-
And here are the two computers that I'm using:
-
The sound board is on the left, and the lights are on the right. :)
-
And now, it's almost intermission!
-
Page six - much better than page four.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Watched a favorite motion picture that always puts me in a better mood.
-
Why not?
-
Had a hot dog snack.
-
Why not?
-
Someone had to.
-
It had to be done.
-
Or eaten.
-
It did the trick.
-
The connecting rings trick - that one's a corker.
-
I myself am a corker.
-
I don't really know Tommy Kirk movies all that well. I remember enjoying the Hardy Boys - he was in that, right?
-
Guess I should write some damn notes.
-
I simply must.
-
Hope George's run went well.
-
I did not run.
-
I did walk a bit at the Arboretum.
-
Getting home from there was something else again.
-
May as well talk about that in the notes.
-
Ah, the page that shall not be named.
-
Hope George's run went well.
It actually didn't go too badly.
-
The performer (gender not specified ::) ) who has been having troubles with lines used the script today, and the director felt that it would be better to let the performer put the script in a book cover as a prop and use it during the show as much as needed.
-
Everyone has been very supportive, so that helps with everything. :)
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Still on the page that shall not be named.
-
Not very sporting.
-
And yet.
-
Here we are.
-
I'm tired but not quite ready for bed.
-
Maybe by one-thirty.
-
We shall see.
-
We really shall see.
-
I need a Pepcid.
-
So, I suppose I'll have one.
-
I'm going to try and fill out my ballot today.
-
And then leave it at a nearby dropbox.
-
One simply must.
-
I guess I should change the topic.
-
George must be eating a burrito.
-
And who can blame him.
-
I do, of course.
-
Someone has to.
-
I feel page eight is lurking in the wings.
-
I'm going to try and fill out my ballot today.
I filled out mine but forgot to drop it off before going to Tacoma. Dopey me! ::)
;D
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
So, this is how I get up to the tech deck loft:
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
Nope. Just resizing pictures.
