Well, you've read the notes, the notes were up and down and up, and now it is time for you to post until the up and down and up cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BEATIFICATION!

And now - Dino at the piano.

Vixmom, do you have curbside voting in New York? It would let WFO stay in the car instead of standing in line.

We have helped many with that.

Had a weird dream of helping Hugh Jackman build a theme park at his home. He was trying to make an anisotropic animal that wasn't coming out right.

Call your board of elections and ask.

I watched The Night Digger and The Brood on TCM last night......and then The Demon Seed started, but I turned it off.
That's all I can stands - I can't stand no more.
-
That was quite the tire poker DR VIXMOM!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I preferred to sleep in with the cats rather than get out of bed when the alarm rang at 6:00, so I'm running about an hour later today.

I got a new CD yesterday from EBAY....Oh You Kid - which was an LP by Dorothy Provine and Joe "Fingers" Carr and his Swingin' String Band.
It also includes the tracks from an LP by Joe "Fingers" Carr, etc. One of the bonus tracks is Hawaiian War Chant which our dance instructor had us do a tap routine, too....it was ghastly.....it was just ghastly.

I, too, forgot several musicals I love yesterday:
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The First Nudie Musical
Oliver
Singin' in the Rain
The Bandwagon
The Wizard of Oz

Jen is coming down this morning to change the light bulbs in my kitchen ceiling. I can no longer climb a ladder to do that. Yesterday she stopped by to tell me about Ann's mother's funeral last week. The poor woman has been dying - and expected to die weekly - since last December, so I'm happy for Ann that's finally over.
-
I've got enough Gypsy work to keep me busy all weekend.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I got me a busy Friday here, running errands this morning and working at home later.
-
DR Jrand74, I watched those same things on TCM last night. But only superficially. I had watched THE NIGHT DIGGER not that long ago and wasn’t really into it, and I’ve never managed to see THE BROOD all the way through— and this time was no different because I fell asleep at some point.
-
Me, too, DR ELMORE!
I especially like her big number in The Great Race.
And her exchange with Tony Curtis.
Leslie: Are you a native of Borracho?
Lily: I ain't no native - I was born here.
And then of course I remembered an similar exchange in HIS GIRL FRIDAY.
You and that albino of yours....
...Evangeline? She ain't no albino.....she was born right here in this country.

If 30 pieces of chocolate don't bring happiness, I'd suggest having them with a cup of Swiss Miss hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows. That should work.

Speaking of THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL, in googling, I ran across this on BroadwayWorld from January 2010.
"Starfighter Onstage, LLC Announces New Productions in Developement"
https://www.broadwayworld.com/off-broadway/article/Starfighter-Onstage-LLC-Announces-New-Productions-in-Developement-20100128
BK, did that developmental reading of THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL ever happen? (Maybe in L.A. rather than New York?)
----------------------------
"Starfighter Onstage, LLC has announced its new projects in development for 2010.
First, it will start developing a new musical adapted from the comic novel VIVA MAX! by Jim Lehrer (NewsHour with Jim Lehrer).
[some info about VIVA MAX!]
The LLC will also produce (with Julie Miller co-producing) a short-film musical of PLAISIR D'AMOUR, a screen adaptation of the one-act musical with book by Terrence McNally and songs by Skip Kennon [some info about PLAISIR D'AMOUR]
Also announced by the LLC are plans to be an associate producer of a developmental reading of Bruce Kimmel's musical THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL, which will be directed by Bruce Kimmel in NYC, most likely in late spring or early summer."

Not Swiss Miss :P

We were at a diner once and I ordered hot chocolate and forgot to ask what chocolate they use. I really am fussy-lol.

At my first taste I made a face. Keith tasted it and said, it was good, like Swiss Miss.

Jen never did show up to replace my bulbs. I can survive until she's back from her Halloween festivities with her family, but I did waste a morning waiting for her.

BK -- No, just small gigs recently. What came to an end was the damned show-switching from MATTRESS to SNOOPY and finally to WINTER WONDERETTES -- which, btw, I actually like. The songs are short enough to not wear out their welcome, and the arrangements (4 girls) are good. The run is Nov. 24 - Dec. 21.
Would love to do A CAROL CHRISTMAS sometime, and I have told a few key people about it but they've felt burned out on the myriad Dickens adaptations here of late. Never fear, it won't be forgotten. BTW, is it scored for the full band or just piano? I thought I saw just piano back when I looked at the licensing website.

Better to have different versions than the same one every freakin' year! ::) A local theeder company has done their artistic director's version for about four years running. It's not bad, but it's just the same version each time! ::)

In exciting news, my church is doing Trunk or Treat tomorrow evening. It should be 99 degrees when we begin.

We passed a church the other day that had a sign mentioning their Tunck or Treat date.

It really was spelled Trunck.

I mean, it shouldn't be 99 degrees. But it will be.

Our signs are spelled correctly. But they didn't think about the color. They look like campaign signs.

I almost pulled over to remove them when I first saw them.
I have only removed two campaign signs this season. One year I removed 27.

Some of the kids requested a cake walk. I have been asked to make two dozen cupcakes for said cake walk.

DR JANEI forgot to answer your query about holiday shows a couple of days ago - it's hard enough for me to drive at NIGHT let alone at NIGHT in inclement weather.....or the day time even....so I usually don't do theeder after September or so.

That is an excellent reason. I prefer to stay home at night or during the day in inclement weather

Yup-lol

Since we are flying through LA to connect with Keith's cousin, I really wasn't thinking about a passport.
-
On the way to his cousin's, we will stop and see my brother for a few hours.
-
After learning that LAX is remodeling and getting a taxi is complicated, I got the name of a driver from my brother. We will now be picked up at the airport.
-
Our cousin's partner will pick us up from my brother's and take us to their place. He had offered to get us at the airport which is how we learned that it is a mess there.
-
He is a super nice guy and we are glad he is in her life.

I am tired. The chair today was very uncomfortable.

We processed 1,709 voters today, nine more than yesterday.
-
Our polling site was not the location of MAGA violence today, thank goodness.
-
Most of the time, we got people through in under 45 minutes.
-
One voter told us he spent 30 minutes in another line yesterday. When it didn't move in 30 minutes, he gave up and was surprised at how quickly our line moved.
-
One of our stations stopped working. I don't think we'll get a replacement. I don't think there are other machines available
-
Vibes and appreciation for DR JOHN G.
-
Excited for DR JANE being met at the airport just like royalty.
-
Good night, all.
-
I am happy to have a couple of get up when I want to days coming up on Saturday and Sunday.

Finished watching a new Noel Coward documentary - very enjoyable.
-
The fam and I went to a film. Wild Robot. Pretty enjoyable tale of a robot raising a bird and finding sentience.
-
I liked that I had no idea who any of the voice talent was except for Matt Berry as a beaver.
-
Hope An Inspector Calls was a delight tonight.
-
Finished another movie - certainly interesting, if not great.
-
I'll write some damn notes shortly.
-
The page that shall not be named - shall not be named.
-
Nor will it be named.
-
And hopefully we'll be on a page that can be named, sooner than later.
-
Hey, I'm coming up on a rather large plateau soon.
-
Won't THAT be fun.
-
Will definitely happen tomorrow.

Could happen tonight if I wanted to be a maniac.

What do I mean, BE a maniac. Like I'm not a maniac.
