Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dilated and said a happy hello to November, and now it is time for you to post until the happy November cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TRIUMPHANT!
-
That's a nice poster, BK.

More vibes for the arrival today of BK's second important envelope!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Hopefully I will finish Zone of Interest this weekend.
-
Last day of work in this two-week stretch. Doesn't seem possible.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I really LOVE that hat, DR George!!!! :)
-
Open Enrollment starts today. Now through Jan 15.
-
I expect people will be clamoring.
-
.
-
Note well that it says cook FOR your pets.
-
Sing for your supper.
-
Look to the rainbow.
-
Climb every mountain.
-
Ford every stream.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. Thatch preferred to staty in the cat tree, and I missed that little fella's purring when he sleeps next to me. An nabelle was faithful as ever, and Stella climbed into bed with me, something she does on occasion but not regularly.
-
Thatch ate this morning, so I guess we are over the rough patch. I sure hope so.
-
On a really sad note, my friend Mark, who adopted a baby squirrel he named Peanut seven years ago, was forced by DEC on Wednesday to turn Peanut over for euthanasia.

-
Good morning.
-
I think cats sometimes just like to keep us on our toes, Elmore.
-
There's none of this not eating around here. If Leonard doesn't like his wet food, I put it outside for the ferals and it's gone in an instant.
-
Damned beaurocrats.

Let's move along.

One more.

Here's some of the footage of Mark and Peanut. I am so sad for this squirrel. Mark was all the world to him and vice versa.

Summer me. Winter me. Dilated me.
-
That is tragic DR ELMORE. I loved the videos.
-
Glad to hear that MR BK's eye exam went so well.
-
NOVEMBER!
It is 39 degrees here headed for 59 degrees.
-
Well, I called the DEC and left a message. After owning a squirrel for seven years, I don't think there's any rabies threat, and Mark is trhe only home that squirrel has known, I cannot begin to imagine how devastated I would be if someone showed up and took Annabelle, Thatch, or Stella from me.
-
That is tragic DR ELMORE. I loved the videos.
I am heartbroken. I love Peanut. I'm just praying he hasn't yet been euthanized.
-
Mean girls.

Good morning, all.

WORDLE in 4.

Heartbreaking about the squirrel.

TOD
Last night we watched THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH which I hadn't seen in years. It's a kind of extraordinary entry in Roger Corman's Poe cycle - as is, I believe, THE TOMB OF LIGEIA which I've only seen once years ago. We'll watch that one soon.
Maybe I posted this already? I don't remember -- The night before, we watched the 1988 remake of THE BLOB. I had only ever seen that once, when the Twilight Time disc was released, and I remembered almost nothing of it. It's hardly a great film but it's kind of fun, and the special effects are quite wonderful, with (according to the director) just a little CGI in one shot. But everything else... really happened.
-
Our last day of Indian Summer #2.
We had a few days of it last week, and then the few this week. Extraordinary. And beautiful in these parts.
-
Tomorrow the bottom drops out. Again.
But this morning I saw another day or two of nice warmth coming up in the middle of next week. We'll take it.

I love THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH!

I had a squirrel come into our apartment in Brooklyn through the roof. I did not want to keep it as a pet. But squirrels have never transferred rabies to a human. So this guy should be able to keep his pal.
-
George, my boy had the sword (which I ended up carrying) but no shield.
-
DR Singdaw, we have not had popcorn since leaving home. Keith would rather have popcorn than candy.
-
Why don't they just give them both the rabies series of shots?
-
The kids loving the potatoes is very funny.
-
One kid was SO excited to take a potato. He wanted to take some for his parents, but they said they preferred candy.
-
We opted out of joining the cousins on another road trip, this time to a village to see the candle maker and weaver. The roads here are bumpy. We will walk around town again and see sights, such as the botanical gardens, that we have yet to see.
-

It's easier to act like bullies. I had a friend in college who had a pet raccoon, but DEC took both Peanut and a raccoon Mark was holding.
-
I enjoyed reading the Halloween stories yesterday.
-
THREE!

Same as Keith.

DR John, I also have great appreciation for your hard work at the voting place, paid or not. I don't think I realized how much work it was until reading your posts.
-

:) Delightful story!
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Have already done banking, which went very quickly, even though my usual gal had someone else who was taking forever (what else is new) so I just used the other teller). I'll check in with the mail place around one and then go over there.
-
For now, the decision is what to eat and when to eat it.
-
I’m eating chicken salad and carrot sticks now for lunch.
-
I’m feeling whipped.
-
Seven hours to go.
-
BK - Vibes that the envelope you're waiting for is there.
-
Seven hours to go.
Does it make you feel better that HHW DRs are waiting to celebrate your new millstone? (only eleven posts away)
-
When do you fly to New York, John G?
-
I am very angry to hear about the squirrel kidnapping and the raccoon as well
-
I am glad Elmore is feeling better though
-
Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings from Tom's. Should be here in about thirty minutes or so.

Don't ever fight a dinosaur.

Good afternoon!

Wordle: 3/6
-
Straight-up rain all day here.
-
It is now 56 degrees.
-
No word on the current status of Peanut, but I'm closing up shop. My legs are killing me, and it's been a long day.
-
Good night, everyone!
-
Just paid my quarterly property tax.
Don't even ask.
It's obscene here.
-
Thinking about Peanut.
Sickening. I can't even imagine.
-
Picked up second important envelope and put its contents into the ATM.
-
I believe I am now through for the day, although I will do a bit of writing later.
-
It was really foggy here this morning.
-
For the page FOUR dance, I'm dancing like everyone wishes they weren't watching.

We processed 2,056 voters today. It's our 12-day high. Wait was never over 30 minutes, though the line snaked out of the library and the street.
-
Gratuitous post 101!
-
I wanted something tonight I didn’t have to make. But I didn’t get out of work until 9 pm.
-
The Italian place I went to was already closed. At the other end of the plaza was a Vietnamese place. They were closing, but I could order to go. Having some rice noodles with pork and shrimp.
-
It’s not kosher, but it is delicious.

That's what matters.
-
So, An Inspector Calls is going well, so far.
-
We have 31 people tonight.
-
And now...
-
5 ! ! ! ! !
-
Tonight, we watched Martha, the documentary about Martha Stewart on Netflix.
-
It was interesting and well done.
-
I think they spent too much time on her trial and jail sentence, and not enough time on how she has reinvented herself after.
-
But still worth a watch.
-
The trailer for the Music by John Williams documentary is out.

I am fading fast.
-
Tomorrow is another day. Or so I have heard.
-
And I am whipped like a potato.
-
But first before I go ...
-
One small post for mankind.
-
One more to grow on.
-
:(
-
I am glad you have a respite tomorrow, DR John G.
-
Shall we sing "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?
-
That would create a few posts.
-
But who would want to read that?
-
Not I.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.

LUCKY #140

We processed 2,056 voters today. It's our 12-day high. Wait was never over 30 minutes, though the line snaked out of the library and the street.
Wow! Keith wants to know if you can tell us who is leading ;D
-
We walked 23,000 plus steps around Oaxaca today. It was nice to walk and never get into a car.
-
Tomorrow we will walk to a cemetery but will need to get in a car to drive to a different one just before sunset.
-
Dinner was too late for us tonight, and unfortunately rather disappointing for all of us.
-
The restaurant was maybe Thai Indian. WE aren't really sure. The best thing we had was the Naan.
-
Thai food that didn't have tofu :o
-
'night
-
Let’s get this thing moving…
-
Peanut was euthanized, I believe I read.
-
On a brighter note, post 150.
-
And page Sixxy.
-
The rains of Ranchipoor continue…
-
Is this another “atmospheric river “?
-
Or are you just glad to see me?
-
When I used to post images on here, I had the option to resize before I uploaded. My phone does not offer me that option anymore, so all my photos are too big to post.
-
In case you were wondering.
-
“You” meaning the zero guests here with me now.
-
The Zero Guests Who Came to Dinner. A great film.
-
Zero She Flies. The name of an early album by Al Stewart.
-
Al is supposedly the first artist to use the F-word on a major-label pop record.
-
Do with that info what you will, zero guests.
-
Oh dear, oh dear.
-
Page six.
-
Whatever shall we do?
-
De we shall whatever?
-
Not very sporting.
-
I need a damn sweet treat.
-
I see now the orange-y lowercase letters of our hero and benefactor, bk, above.
-
I need to write some damn notes.
-
And there he is!
-
This Sporting Life
-
I'm listening to fine American composers conducted by Mr. Hanson.
-
What a treasure he was.
-
Bunny Lake is Missing really felt the need to include the Zombies.
-
I saw The Sporting Life at the Lido Theater the day it opened - in fact, I may have seen a sneak preview of it a few weeks prior to it. I liked it back then.
-
Bunny Lake isn't a great motion picture, but I do like it a lot - especially Noel Coward and the Paul Glass soundtrack.
-
And Mr. Preminger's direction.
-
But does ya like it now?
-
I saw it the day it opened, too. On Hollywood Blvd - and I suspect it played the Warner or the Pantages. I'll go look it up.
-
I was watching the Noel Coward scene the other night. Wish his part was bigger.
-
7, just like that.
-
It is funny to watch the Bunny Lake trailer and hear his praise for The Zombies
-
Foreshadowing his later uncool magnum opus of wrongheaded kitsch, Skiddoo.
-
Although the Skiddoo title track certainly has stuck in my head.
-
Skiddoo. Skiddoo. The only thing that matters is with who ya do.
-Carol Channing
-
The only way I could see that movie back in the day was on a bootleg VHS from famed East Village store, Mondo Kim’s.
-
Owned by the mysterious Mr. Kim, about whom there is a sordid documentary.
-
His bootlegs were among several things that landed him in trouble.
-
But what a shop that was for young me to shop for records and rent impossible-to-find videos.
-
Now I see the name George has popped up above.
-
Take that, zero guests! We are assembling a team to defeat you!
-
Nope - the Stanley Warner Beverly Hills -
-
Ah, the page that shall not be mentioned.
-
In the Bunny Lake trailer, Otto also threatens anyone showing up late that they will not be admitted. Wonder if theater owners really cared to enforce that.
-
Otto was also the name of the ventriloquist dummy in The Great Gabbo, which I also rented from Mr. Kim’s.
-
Here is Otto to sing the unforgettable Lollipop Song.

Dinner was too late for us tonight, and unfortunately rather disappointing for all of us.
That's too bad.

Peanut was euthanized, I believe I read.
Oh, no. :(
-
Gratuitous Post #200!

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I really did.

No AI.
-
No ghost writers.
-
Just li'l ol' me.
-
How the HELL can we still be on this damn page that shall not be named?
-
See?
-
Did George eat a burrito?
-
Now I want to watch Bunny Lake - have to whip out the Blu-ray.
-
When I used to post images on here, I had the option to resize before I uploaded. My phone does not offer me that option anymore, so all my photos are too big to post.
Rodzinski, I have an app on my phone and tablets called Photo & Picture Resizer. Here's the original sized screen capture (it's a large image, but the file size was small enough):
-
And here it is resized by 50%:
-
Changing the topic - hold the posts.
-
I've only used the free version. I like it a lot. :)
-
Did George eat a burrito?
No. Tonight, it was a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish with extra tartar sauce. It was nice and goopy! ;D
