Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the right head place, and now it is time for you to post until the head place cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MUNIFICENT!
-
Welcome 400 GUESTS!

That's a lot of GUESTS.

-
Going to bed.
-
Didn't make 1:30 but 2:00 is fine.
-
Better than five.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well last night. The cats behaved, and that - in this apartment - is 75% of my sleeping history.
-
I had never heard of In a Dark Place, but I think I may watch it tonight, since James' Turn of the Screw has been an obsession of mine since Ingrid Bergman played the rfole in a TV production in 1959. I did not see the production, but the TV promotions were just eerie enough to make my mother fobid me near the broadcast. Since then, I think ther best ever version of the tale is The Innocents, starring Deborah Kerr.
-
BK, the original recording of Britten's opera The Turn of the Screw is really wonderful; a very young David Hemmings created the role of Miles, long before he became a film actor. I'm also partial to Sir Colion Davis' recording, which was used for a Czech film by Peter Weigl, which is very interesting.
I think my favorite DVD version of the opera is the one in which my friend Diana Montague sings Mrs Grose.
-
I have no plans for today. Now that the Gypsy work is finished, I'm eager for some more work to turn up. Now that Project 2025 appearts to be a potential reality, I'm not sure I can count on Social Security or Medicare, so I need to generate income.

That's a lot of GUESTS.
It's now 417. I can't help but wonder if it has anything to do with your announcements of your "Drat! The Cat!" production and that got people searching you.
-
You could probably tell from statistics if the timing works for that theory.
-
Or there's always the far-fetched possibility that it COULD be gaslighting going on. :)
-
Good morning.

The people in my family have weird ideas about cooking.

They sure do, DR Laura.

I have read that most of the vocals for Wicked were recorded live on camera (as opposed to pre-recorded), so I am curious about that.
The orchestra would have been pre-recorded, so they still would have had to conform to that.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept well. Had an odd dream in which I had my hands clasped behind my head while I was in bed. I was told to unfold my hands without moving my head, but I couldn’t.
-
Somehow Joanne Woodward got involved.
-
I’m starting to decorate today.
-
I like Elmore’s list. I will add the collection of Edith Wharton’s ghost stories, The Shining and Beloved.
-
Somehow Joanne Woodward got involved.
Wow, a starry dream.
-
Somehow Joanne Woodward got involved.
Or, perhaps it was Eve White, Eve Black, or Jane?
Rachel, perhaps?
Or even Beatrice Hunsdorfer?
-
"I got six brothers and all of 'em is mean bad!"
Joanne in her film debut Count Three And Pray.
-
DR JANE if you search "portable cd players" on EBAY you will find a nice assortment.

Mrs. Bridge.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I survived the probing of the sitz and tech day, but just barely. I wonder if I've ever been so exhausted.
-
Yes, that was a superb list of great ghost stories from DR Elmore.
-
Tonight and tomorrow night are dress rehearsals.
Nothing on Wednesday and Thursday for Thanksgiving.
Friday night we have a preview audience, and we open Saturday.
-
In Venice?
-
Starting Scrooged. It begins with an AR-15 toting Santa under attack. Looks just like Red One.
-
Except it was a joke in Scrooged.
-
From DR George:
Well, this sounds really cool:
Atomic power: Phone battery promises 50 years without charge
That really would be cool. The battery would outlast the phone.
-
I wonder how much the phone would cost to purchase if you never needed to charge it.

Thanks. I'm not sure I want to gift CD's from there. If there is a problem can they be returned?
-
Craig did a bit of research on Amazon and suggested one for us to get. The Black Friday deal is only good if you have Amazon Prime, which we don't at the moment so I can't order it. I'll search elsewhere for it or see if Craig still has Prime.
-
George, thanks for answering my question yesterday. You were smart to keep your CD player, not that I ever had a portable one to save.

Hello
-
I was back.in thd city again yesterday for the final performance of Sex Variants of 1941
-
Then I came home and went to BJs and picked up a new TV I had ordered
-
It's a 32 inch 4K ROKU , marked dow. From 149.99 to $99, then I had a $25 credit for points earned using my BJs credit card to buy gas at BJs, after tax it was about $84
-
I've been wanting to get a TV for the upstairs and figured between the early Black Friday pricing and the threat of tariffs increasing all the prices soon this was the time to buy
-
I haven't started setting it up yet, figured I'll do that over the holiday weekend
-
I wasn't sure what time I'd be home so Vixdad made plans to eat dinner out with friends
-
I made myself some mushrrom.ravioli for dinner, but made the mistake of pouring an already opened jar of sauce over all the ravioli
-
Only to discover mold at the bottom
-
So into the bin it went
-
I drove around the corner and got three hard taco supremes from.Twco Bell instead
-
I was feeling quite sleepy and went to bed before 10
-
And didn't get up until 8
-
So I didn't have time to check in here this morning
-
I am currently on lunch break
-
I have just finished my sandwich , chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries on a brioche sesame bun
-
And a can of LaCroix lemincello
-
And potato chips, the thick cut ridged ones from Lidl
-
The LaCroix. Chicken salad and brioche bun were from Aldi
-
There was no gravy
-
Congratulations to Laura on escaping both nomination and election
-
There was no gravy
If there were no gravy, where were the cashews?
-
Fred, yes that private, elevated table overlooking the stage was very VIP
-
I noticed people kept looking at me trying to figure out WHO THAT IS
-
Or maybe I just had something on my face
-
Or was dressed funny
-
Afterwards I ended up hanging with BD Wong.
-
I had just gone over to say hello and folks kept coming up asking to have photos with him, so I suddenly became The Official Photographer
-
Well I haven't wordled yet so I guess I'll go give that a try

Yesterday's concert went fine, even better than Saturday's. I'm told the live stream recording may take a few days to post, but then it will be up for a couple of months.
-
Now a couple weeks off until music rehearsals start for La sonnambula and its twenty tons of memorization. The chorus is only offstage for one number.
-
You can’t sleep walk through that one.
-
Watching s dreary war film called The Proud and Profane. William Holden with a mustache and Deborah Kerr without one.

I’ve gotten a few Christmas items out. But I can’t find one box and I’m in no hurry to locate it.

Super cool.

Is Iongrid an atomic physicist?
-
Thank you for that, DR Elmore.

What was that British retelling of Turn of the Screw where the kids were evil?
-
It was The Nightcomers with Marlon Brando.

Aww. I read those old interviews and am like “who the hell would read anything that long?” I should’ve split them up into smaller bits.
-
But I do remember later meeting B.D. at Herringbone in Williamstown. Somewhere I have a photo with me and his mother, I think.
-
And the great Roger Rees. What a nice guy he was.
-
Turn of the Screw always makes me think of this delightful scene from Three O’Clock High, where its title is the semi-punchline.

Watching The 4:30 Movie from Kevin Smith. Occasionally amusing. But not enough.

My presentation went well today.

It only lasted 35 minutes.

In a 2-hour time slot.

So I vamped.

Not really. The trainees had other stuff to do after.

So it all worked out.

Who is going to have THESE on their Thanksgiving table?

Hope you can get the device you want, DR Jane.

I have a Prime account. I could order something for you.

I still haven't read today's Notes. I'd better remedy that right now.

BK, since your appointment tomorrow is toward the end of the day, prepare for them to be running behind.

There was a story on the internet about a mfg. company in Ohio.
They had a meeting with their employees and told them that expect to be paying a ot more for their raw materials if you know who gets the tariffs he wants in the new year.
Because of that anticipation, all Christmas bonuses have been canceled.
The employees were shocked....as one told a reporter: "I thought China would be paying the tariffs......"

When I was going to Western Washington University, we in the music department got to go to the Vancouver Opera final dress rehearsals for only $5 Canadian!

Good ol’ WWU!
I saw a bumper sticker or window sticker the other day that said their mascot, but I can’t recall what it was. A bird of some sort?
-
Weird memory: I remember when I had to phone BD Wong, that it was the first time I called someone where instead of hearing ringing on his end, he had I think it was a Bee Gees song playing.
-
I might as well take us to the next page.
-
George has abandoned me.
-
I had a mechanic change one of my headlight bulbs and it still doesn’t work. I’m not sure if he changed the wrong one or I have a bigger issue. Fun.
-
I did see him lingering around the passenger-side headlight area. Could he have goofed?
-
That’s the preferable outcome vs. needing some more expensive ballast replaced or whatever.

Let’s 8!

Finished with my viewing.

Page eight has made its entrance.

And that's a good thing.

And now, notes to write.

I like both versions of 13 Ghosts.

The 2001 version is somehow bad in an endearing way that has stuck with me.

The light reflecting on the Viking’s helmet makes a “W.” Clever.

I remember buying a VHS tape (before DVDs were much of a thing) of a screener copy of The Frighteners, with Michael J. Fox.
-
I never actually watched it. ::)
-
The light reflecting on the Viking’s helmet makes a “W.” Clever.
Huh...I never noticed that!
-
People say The Frighteners is good. Kind of one of Fox’s last starring features. Peter Jackson, I think, directed.
-
Notes are written.
-
So, what's gnu?
-
My back is tired from sitting in this chair.
-
I think I might have seen page nine lurking.
-
Waiting in the wings.
-
Ready for its entrance.
-
See?
-
Page nine has made its entrance.
-
In case you hadn't noticed.
-
I noticed.
-
I am the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-elderly BK.
-
I'm kind of hungry, and I could have a snack of some sort, because as of six in the morning I cannot eat for eight hours.
-
That's what I've been told.
-
I must follow the rules.
-
They're doing lab work.
-
But who isn't?

Fifteen minutes to new notes.

Wonder of wonders.

What am I, a fiddler on the roof all of a sudden?
-
Moving right along.
-
I'm feelin' it.
-
It's feelin' me.
-
We're all feelin' each other.
-
Many feels going on here.
-
I'm feelin' that page 10 is over there lurking.
-
Waiting in the wings.
-
It hasn't made an entrance in several days.
-
And now -
-
In person - page 10.
-
That was exciting.
-
That was a rollicking adventure.
-
Where'd George get to?
-
Has he been sending people burritos?
-
Having his jam?
-
Doing important doings?
-
It is not for me to say.
-
It is for him to say.
-
But he is absent.
-
I, on the other hand, am here.
-
Wish I had something here to snack on, but I do not.
-
Actually, maybe I do.
-
Now that I'm thinking about it.
-
Hmmmm.
-
Where'd George get to?
The rabbit hole of Brian Tyler Cohen and David Pakman:
