At 8:00 I began watching my weekly Midsomer Murders, only to find it was one I've seen around 7-10 times already, so around 8:30 the cats and I turned in. I slept rather well. The temperatures dropped a lopt last night. Annabellella slept in the bathroom, since it was the only warm room in the apartment, thanks to the heating pipe. Thatch came to cuddle with me amd I  buried him between Grandma;s quilt and the bedspread where he seemed quite content. Unlike Annabelle, he doesn't like lying next to me under all the blankets.

To answer all inquiring minds, Stella did come home. Unlike Annabelle, Stella is capable of finding her way back home, and after about 30 minutes in the cold hallway, she was happy to return to the apartment.

I've got more trash to tote to the basement this morning, so I hope I can escape the apartment without Stella interference.

Yesterday afternoon, I watched an Amazon Prime movie, The Holiday Exchange a gay Hallmark movie, written by, and starring, one of the 2009 revival of Finian's Rainbow cast members, Taylor Frey. The movie also featured Joa Aaron Reid, who was also in the 2009 revival. The movie was fun, and I enjoyed Taylor's performance and writing.

DR Jrand74, I hope your psychic friends are right about DJ Tramp's presidential hopes. I don't think JD Vance would havbe a successful term as president any more than the current MAGA Moron Speaker of the Ho's as his VP.

On another topic, I would be delighted to star in anytthing with you.

Yesterday, I posted about Stella's escape at the height of my frustration and anger: it took three phone calls and two additional deliveries before the Amazon Fresh order was completely delivered. I posted that my lifew was pretty shitty since June 2020. Before that appendectomy and cancer surgery on June 1, 2020, I was walking successfully with a cane andf I still had my balance. I could manage stairs and not have to crawl up them. Things took longer to accomplish, but I wasn't afraid of getting out and about. Now, I find stairs a terrifying obstacle, I'm afraid of falling, and I am terrified - as I was on Friday when Stelescaped as I was trying to get the laundry out of the apartment - to be stuck on that walker in the open with no other support.

I dpn't admire self-pity and yet I feel I'm exhibiting nothing but that.

Leonard is too smart to play with toys. The only thing he likes are shoelaces. Anything else he quickly abandons. And he gives me a "You've got to be kidding" look when I give him a toy.

Will he chase a shoelace if you drag it around?

Cute.  What does he do with them?

Oh no! Im.so sorry.

I know it's not as good as an actual in person visit but what we do with Vixter &  Vixhubby  every year is set up the zoom, sit in front of our respective trees, have breakfast of blueberry muffins and tea together,  then open presents together

That sounds lovely.  You do more than we do.  We simply watch Freyja open our gifts.

It is 26 degrees here headed for 38 degrees.

It was 14 when I left for the theeder, and 20 now.

Both are too cold, especially 20 degrees.  I do not miss walking on days like this.

BK, I am listening to Christmas on Broadway. You and Michele doing "Be a Santa" would make any Ebenezer Scrooge dance with joy. I too look forward to photos of The New Car.

I listened to that yesterday and agree wholeheartedly. It always lifts my spirit.

I just listened to the complete album for the first time in years. It'a got some terrific numbers on it.

I've got to find my Broadway holiday CDs.  They're around here somewhere.

Turns out, I HAD a 40% off coupon for UberEats - so, after ponderous thought, I ordered from LaLa's Argentine Grill. Haven't been there in over a decade, maybe more. Used to go all the time. Prices have doubled since the last time I was there, that's how long it's been. I ordered a chicken breast champignon thing - a light cream sauce and mushrooms sits atop the chicken. Comes with a little salad. As I said in my Yelp review back in the day - I always lose weight when I eat at LaLa's.

The little neighbor girl came over with a large cup, asking for flour.  I'm looking forward to giving them their Christmas gift of baking equipment. I'll probably need to give them more flour, too.

LOL.  You are good to them.

And I made Pizza Beans for lunch. Very tasty.

It looked tasty.  Did you use the recipe Jose put on your FB page or create your own recipe?

Here’s a story you may have heard from me before, but I was able to tell my full version finally after a Birmingham reporter had botched it some time ago. If you don’t want to read, you can also listen to my expanded audio version linked at top.

https://www.kates-boylston.com/american-cemetery-and-cremation/christmas-breakdown-mccalla-alabama/article_06a829f8-9ca1-11ef-8ed9-fbb26afbdb6d.html

This is a Hallmark card commercial, like the tear jerker ones years ago.  Thank you for the wonderful story.

Thank you Jane!!

I sent it to Keith.  Knowing I probably only read the article and had not listened to it, he said I needed to listen and complimented your voice.  He was right, it was even better.  I usually prefer reading vs struggling to hear every word said.  It was not a problem for me at all and it was wonderful hearing your voice.

Thank you, wow. That was my coworker’s idea, the guy who introduced me. He was like,  we should do this as a bonus podcast.

She earlier walked into the garage and caught Mrs Rodz in mid-present wrapping mode. I think I was able to convince her those were presents from family.

Thank you, DR Laura.  Maybe not that soon because they’re going to see the other grandparents.  But whenever it is we have something special to do.

On New Year’s Eve 1999, while Richard and I were out, Rob (then 14) and my mother put together a Y2K “time capsule” in a large tin that popcorn had come in.  She typed a note that it was to be opened in 25 years, so now’s the time.  Rob took it to his house when we moved and we want to open it together.

When we sold our old church building, they removed the time capsule that was placed under the cross. One of the items inside was a note from the pastor's teenage son. He's now one of the older guys in the congregation.

When we built the new church, we placed a time capsule. In addition to a newsletter and bulletin and other such stuff, I placed a DVD and a CD and attached a note explaining what they were. Technology changes so quickly that no one will know what they are someday.

I think the A Broadway Christmas album came out really well and it's the one I play at all the Dos, softly in the background. I get quite a few messages from folks every Christmas saying it's their favorite. A Hollywood Christmas, while not quite as successful for me, also has some really good tracks on it.

I love them both. :)

I think the A Broadway Christmas album came out really well and it's the one I play at all the Dos, softly in the background. I get quite a few messages from folks every Christmas saying it's their favorite. A Hollywood Christmas, while not quite as successful for me, also has some really good tracks on it.

I like Sandy’s and Brent’s holiday albums, too.

Ditto!!
