I knew he was here somewhere. But when cats get sick or hurt, they hide. That's what I was afraid of.
When Cranford ended, Amazon Prime went right in to Return to Cranford and I watched the first episode.
I guess I know what I'm having for lunch today!!

New Year’s Day greetings! I saw them ring in 2025 in Puerto Rico, but was asleep before midnight here.
He came out of one of the bedroom closets when I went looking for him. I guess he was hiding from the fireworks.
It seems that here, people set off fireworks at every time zone. So it goes on every hour for hours.
And so it begins.....listening to the horrible news this morning
CONGRATULATIONS to DR George on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!
Who decides these things?
Yesterday morning, I was wondering what to buy for my New Year's Day lunch. Everywhere in this area is now closed for the day, but I thought about getting something to prepare just especially.
And then came the text invitation from my cousin Debra to join her and family for collards, black-eyed peas, sweet taters, cornbread, fried pork ribs, and dessert.
I guess I know what I'm having for lunch today!!

Were they able to celebrate much without power?
Wow, that's so much fun!

Don’t really know, DR Jane. I just happened onto the countdown - cinco, quatro, tres, dos, uno - when I surfed over to ABC after the Fiesta Bowl.
Jane is going to bed at six-thirty???
Ever since I was little and we read the Weekly Reader and I watched TV news and read Life Magazine and The Saturday Evening Post and The Reader's Digest....I thought we would have to go to war to lose our country to the Russians......
But now it seems that it's being handed over to them free and clear.....
I am not happy and I do not expect any good news for the next year or so....
But other than that - I'm doing fine.

I remember in the early 70's, I think, Donald O'Conner had a talk show.....one day his guests were Rod Serling and Keefe Brasselle who had written a "novel" about his experience at CBS.
Rod was talking about his appearance in one of his movies - he had a cameo.
Finally he just started laughing and Donald asked him was was funny. Rod said: "We are. Look at us - a writer trying to an actor, an actor trying to be a writer, and a hoofer trying to be a talk show host."
Donald looked at her a few seconds, then set the cards down and said: "Okay, sister, I'll ask you. How does it feel to be up the river?"
The dental work was ultimately okay and she likes it now - getting there was the problem.

I didn't notice. Congrat!
I think DR Ron Pulliam has a Suvie or some such. Maybe he could share his experience.
I forgot who asked about the Mountain Time Zone. I believe DR John & DR Laura are our only members that are in it.

I'm in Central.
I looked up Mt Time and it showed you are in it-lol.
So far, I have not found this to be the case. But the year is young.
I'm in Mountain Standard Time. Year-round.
Happy 2025. The kids had a ball with the confetti and horns and leaping about. I did some giant sparklers in the yard. They looked pretty wimpy, but it’s the thought that counts. Then I didn’t manage to make it to New Year’s in my own time zone.
That would be a great marketing line for sparklers... It's the thought that counts!

Futzing and finessing took an hour, then I made the tuna pasta salad, and have written nine new pages. I must say, I didn't futz and finesse too much because I actually liked what I'd written. Just smoothed a few things out, fixed typos and missing words, stuff like that. I'm having fun.

My DH says they are not oranges. They seem more like lemons. I think they may be meyer lemons.
DR JANE if I recall Donald and Rod thought it was very funny. Keefe not so much.
It is 32 degrees here.
About 10:30 a.m. I was struck with nausea so I had to cancel the lunch/readings and just went to bed.
I just got up at 5:10 p.m. and feel a bit better.

Sushi for Hanukkah?
Intimate gathering is done - I was expecting it to be done at six but everyone was having so much fun that they didn't leave until seven-thirty.
