Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of lobby cards, and now it is time for you to post until the lobbying cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRESTO!
-
Wordle 1,309 4/6
⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜
⬜🟩⬜🟨🟨
⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
-
Finished fifteen pages, and I'd guess that maybe there are ten to go.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The cats have had breakfast and I wait for an Amazon Fresh delivery.
-
After reading the article on the MGM-Aldous Huxley version of Pride and Prejudice, I decided to watch the 1995 BBC-Andrew Davies version, which is far superior. I might have watched the 1980 BBC-Fay Weldon version, with my preferred actress as Elizabeth Bennet, if it had been available on Amazon Prime, but it was not. We got through three episodes last night, and there are three more that I will watch tonight.
-
DR Rodzinski, the evil queen and her desire to eat her two grandchildren are the strange tag to Charles Perrault's telling of La Belleis Dormant. I haven't read the Perrault stories in years, but if my memory is correct, the children are conceived while the Beauty is still asleep and unaware that her rescue is also her rapist.
-
Hoping BK is not feeling too sore today from yesterday's fall.
-
Ooh-la-la! Zoze naughty French writers!
-
Amazon Fresh is now two stops away.
-
John G, your dinner yesterday sounded delicious!
-
There was a period in the late 1960s-mid 1970s in which The Curious Savage was a popular show for schools and community theatres. I haven't heard that tioned in years.
-
I directed The Curious Savage a few years ago at Putnam County Playhouse - the audience did indeed enjoy it. One of the actors had done the play someplace else and decided he would do the SAME performance even though it didn't really fit with the rest of the play.....idiot.
-
DR JEANNE thanks for that link.
-
DR JOHN G I didn't realize Huxley wrote that version - I was confused.
Rhythm on the River - an earlier movie Rhythm on the Range starred Bing Crosby and was the first BIG film for Frances Farmer at Paramount. Crosby is from Washington as was Frances. They became great friends....and remained so for life.
In the late 1960's Crosby arranged for Frances to become a co-spokesperson for Minute Maid Orange Juice.
At the BIG final meeting one of the MM executives made the mistake of asking Frances what Tyrone Power was really like. Frances was not amused - made an off color remark and then said: "Gentlemen, I do not care to sell your God Damned Orange Juice!" And then she walked out.
-
But she's very good in Rhythm on the Range.

My favorite line in the movie is from Martha Raye who takes one look at Bob Burns and says: "No matter what anyone says, you keep wearing that suit!"
-
Healing vibes for MR BK.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Those neighbors would have used up my good graces long ago. Vibes for Bk having as few aches and sorenesses as possible today!

TOD
Maybe I’m blocking something out, but I believe I’ve been fortunate in not having any real falls in recent years. As an adult, though, even the most minor ones can be alarming and embarrassing. We are not resilient like we were as kids. I don’t even like it when I trip on something.
-
So, tomorrow afternoon it begins.
SN*W.
Damn them.
-
Saturday morning greetings! Thank you for yesterday’s anniversary wishes from BK and DRs Jeanne, Iris, Jane, Laura, KevinH, and George. Hope I didn’t miss anyone.
-
We had a pretty low key day. I finished listening to Kelly Bishop read her memoir The Third Gilmore Girl and we went to a new (to us) place for pizza. It’s called Two Cities (New York and Chicago), so we had a deep dish. The location is the former municipal building for Mason, OH - a solid art deco structure about 20 minutes from our home.
-
I hope that DR LAURA's speech goes well.
-
Time for Bomba on TCM.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
PAGE TWO
-
DR John G. - perhaps next week you'll be able to make a snow chicken.
-
On TCM Dave Karger just had a new bumper about Frankie & Annette.....they were singing their duet "I Think, You Think" from Beach Blanket Bingo. He said some really nice and interesting things.....
Not on YOUTUBE yet.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sending vibes to BK that he's feeling okay.
-
I slept okay. I dreamt I was trying to remember the lyrics to Good King Wenceslas. Why, I do not know.
-
DR John G. - perhaps next week you'll be able to make a snow chicken.
That's pretty cute!

I recall thinking (when the movie came out) that BACK TO THE BEACH would make a fun stage musical.

Wow!

~~~PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for BK!!!
-
~~FINISHING-THE-BOOK VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!
-
Maybe we could have a photo of one of the lobby cards? Just for fun.
Noticed this morning that gasoline has gone up quite a bit here. $3.20
-
:)
LOL!
-
:)
-
Most interesting DR singdaw.
-
:)
:) That would have helped me learn geography!
-
Extra ROAD SHOW credit if you make a side trip to Mizner Park when you visit West Palm Beach.
-
Wordle in four.
-
Our s**w is melting quite a bit.....just before we head back into the deep freeze.
TOD:
About three years ago I was wearing some TOO BIG shoes and tripped on the sidewalk in front of my house.
The scrape on my right elbow lasted several weeks and was most painful.
I threw the shoes away.
-
I guess the psychic intuition about DJT not having an inauguration is inaccurate.
More's the pity.
-
There's still time.
-
Hope springs eternal.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
My girl child brought her home reading and it was some Sleeping Beauty version from the ‘80s, maybe based on the original, I dunno. The wicked queen at some point demands her servant feed her the princess’s two babies. She eats them! Or she thinks she does. Of course the servant/chef feeds her lambs instead. Unpleasantness.
Yuck!
-
DR John your dessert last night sounded good.
-
Mary Martin is very cute in the video.
-
Bruce if you had really been injured you could have sued them on their homeowners insurance. Save the email you sent them.
I hope they apologize.
Great page-turn art!
I just got back from picking up some music from someone, and it's a jungle out there with people doing their panic shopping a day ahead of the sn*wst*rm.
The grocery stores must be shouting "Eureka!" since they haven't had one of these boosts in a while.
-
Indeed DR CHAS SMITH.
-
And indeed DR singdaw.
-
I just rewatched the 2017 NTL version of FOLLIES.
And I still am horrified by the popping eyes and clacking dentures of Imelda Staunton.....why is she allowed onstage?
-
Popping Eyes and Clacking Dentures - That could be the title of, well, something.
-
;D
-
So, tomorrow afternoon it begins.
SN*W.
Damn them.
I can relate, DR Chas.
Oh, yes, I can relate.
-
Our forecast:
Sunday: A chance of rain and snow before 1pm, then snow. High near 34. North wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
-
Sending vibes to everyone dealing with bitter cold, ice, and snow.
-
I just rewatched the 2017 NTL version of FOLLIES.
And I still am horrified by the popping eyes and clacking dentures of Imelda Staunton.....why is she allowed onstage?
She’s horrible in that too.
-
It’s 70 outside now. Tomorrow’s high will be 42.
-
I did manage to get my olive tree and a few other plants covered. It wasn’t easy in the wind. I just hope they stay covered.
I am not a b, but I admit I really liked her in thje BBC series Cranford. I think all the old ladies are wonderful in it.
Was Tyrone Power specifically a sore spot or she just didn’t want those sorts of questions?
DR Rodzinski, the evil queen and her desire to eat her two grandchildren are the strange tag to Charles Perrault's telling of La Belleis Dormant. I haven't read the Perrault stories in years, but if my memory is correct, the children are conceived while the Beauty is still asleep and unaware that her rescue is also her rapist.
Oh interesting! In the kids book, he wakes her and they have the family, then the attempts at eating begin. The wicked queen is eventually devoured in a tub of snakes.
-
TOD:
I think it was the very first time I set foot in Brooklyn. I was crossing the intersection at Atlantic Ave and Flatbush. Very busy, huge intersection. It had just started to rain. Midway across Atlantic, I realized I was going the wrong way AND against the light that had just turned. I then pivoted and immediately slipped and fell flat on my face. With a fleet of cars coming on green! Luckily the lead car in my lane saw me go down. I scrambled to my feet and dodged my way back to the sidewalk from whence I came. Nobody even honked, which was nice.
-
Speaking of the evil queen and the poisoned apple:
-
Follow me for more recipes.
-
And speaking of apples, what do you think of my new apple watch?
-
Slow news day.
-
Did a second shopping run. DH has to be on a clear liquid diet for a procedure on Monday. (no, not THAT one)
-
Something to look forward to...
Speaking of looking forward...
Page Four is around here somewhere.
It is approaching.
-
It is imminent.
Speaking of the evil queen and the poisoned apple:
Eeeeeek!
-
:) Made me think of DR Laura.
-
I just got back from picking up some music from someone, and it's a jungle out there with people doing their panic shopping a day ahead of the sn*wst*rm.
The grocery stores must be shouting "Eureka!" since they haven't had one of these boosts in a while.
Recently friends in England were shocked the shelves were empty and compared it to Covid. I thought of course they are, you just had a big snowstorm ;D
-
Sending vibes to everyone dealing with bitter cold, ice, and snow.
DITTO!
-
I did manage to get my olive tree and a few other plants covered. It wasn’t easy in the wind. I just hope they stay covered.
Good luck.
-
:) Made me think of DR Laura.
I love it.
-
DR George I forgot to mention yesterday that Keith also got Wordle in three.
-
I didn't know because I completely forgot to ask him what he did it in.
-
I have too many most embarrassing falls. The last one was my recent fall on the escalator.
-
People are kind and want to help me up, except immediately getting up when it hurts too much is not a good idea.
-
DR Rodzinski, the evil queen and her desire to eat her two grandchildren are the strange tag to Charles Perrault's telling of La Belleis Dormant. I haven't read the Perrault stories in years, but if my memory is correct, the children are conceived while the Beauty is still asleep and unaware that her rescue is also her rapist.
Oh interesting! In the kids book, he wakes her and they have the family, then the attempts at eating begin. The wicked queen is eventually devoured in a tub of snakes.
That sounds like The Marquise of O. He date rapes her, impregnates her, then woos her, but she’s pregnant and complications ensue.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Sporting it's not.
-
I do believe I have finished a book.
-
Book 26 to be exact.
-
I finished it around 1:00 but then didn't like the last few pages so completely revised those, then futzed and finessed the final twenty pages.
-
Sending the last batch of pages to Muse Margaret in the morning.
-
I do believe I have finished a book.
Congratulations.
-
Went to see my dance instructor friend today. He was in good spirits and had decent energy. We left when he started to get sleepy. He’s doing better than I expected.
-
Hoping BK is not feeling too sore today from yesterday's fall.
I would've written "Not at this address" on the package and sent it back. I've done that a few times over the years.
-
I've had a few things accidentally put in my mailbox when it wasn't for me, and I've taken those to the correct condo unit, but if it has my unit number, I'm not going to try to figure out where it needs to go. That's the job for the USPS or UPS.
Exactly, although I would do it for neighbors in our building as it is easy to do.
On Fri, Apr 8, 2022 the last episode of season one of Severance aired.
-
Season two finally returned last night.
-
Since it has been such a long time, instead of watching the new episode we watched the last episode from season one.
-
Tonight we will watch the first episode of season two.
-
Bruce I hope you aren't hurting too much today.
-
Onward!
-
Six!
-
Very nasty tummy tonight.
-
Can’t dance.
-
Sorry. I hope you feel better.
-
We had a good frost today. It dipped a degree under freezing in the night, but that’s ok. Seems to be staying above freezing for the foreseeable future.
-
I’ve been painting a section of wall in our garage. Got a home gym thingie to put up in there but want it to feel not just like it’s sitting in the garage (which it will be).
-
Used black chalkboard paint, so we’ll see how that works.
-
Meanwhile, BK’s just over there finishing a book. Book #26! Congratulations!
-
Very nasty tummy tonight.
Feel better soon, John.
-
In Rhythm on the Range, Oscar Levant can be seen reading A Smattering of Ignorance by Oscar Levant. He says it’s an irritating book.
-
Hope you start to feel better very quickly, DR John G.
-
CONGRATULATIONS on finishing Book #26, BK!!!! Fantastic.
-
Creative shell art.
-
Creative shell art.
That's amazing!
-
A yarn bouquet!
-
Singdaw, I know it's 58 posts away, but you never know how fast frenzies can take a person on a holiday weekend! You're coming up on a super-duper round milestone of a millstone!
-
This frog door-stopper is a cute and creative use of crochet.
-
But THIS, in my opinion, is a bridge too far.
-
I will keep that in mind, DR Freddie! Thank you.
-
Good night, all.
-
The wind is really picking up out there.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Good evening.
-
I am home.
-
It was a long drive there. The talk went well. It was a long drive home.
-
I got home around 3 p.m. and church began at 4 p.m. We met this afternoon because the stupid marathon tomorrow will shut down the roads here.
-
It was a long drive there. The talk went well. It was a long drive home.
Welcome home, Laura!
I would love to hear details about your talk.
Where in Arizona did you travel?
-
I would like to visit Sierra Vista, Arizona, known as “the hummingbird capital of the United States”.
-
Updated weather forecast for Maryland:
Sunday: rain, snow, and sleet likely before 11am, then snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 34. North wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
-
Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? 🙄
-
Page Rupert!
😄
-
DR Iris, I was at the Wings Over Willcox Birding Festival.
-
Very nasty tummy tonight.
I hope you feel better soon, John.
-
DR Iris, I was at the Wings Over Willcox Birding Festival.
Ah!
My Sedona friend goes there often.
She’s a wine educator.
-
DR Iris, I was at the Wings Over Willcox Birding Festival.
That sounds wonderful.
I would have been very interested in attending seminars on Monarch Butterflies, Bats, and Hummingbirds, among other activities.
What was your talk about?
-
I
See
Snowflakes
-
Must make coffee tonight, in case the power goes out tomorrow.
If the microwave doesn’t work, I will need to drink iced coffee.
-
But, hey, it’s still coffee.
-
Which is better than nothing.
-
Good night, all.
😴
-
Went to the birthday party.
-
Hardly knew anyone, which was surprising. Hung out for twenty minutes and got the HELL out of there.
-
Ah, the page that shall not be named.
-
Looked for a movie - didn't really feel like it.
-
It always feels weird to finish a book and then later realize you don't have to do any writing.
-
But you're still in that mode.
-
I had a grilled cheese with bacon earlier - just ordered some clam chowder and a small Caesar.
-
Time for a Mucinex-D and hopefully that will get rid of this damn and endless phlegm.
-
Took a couple of photos of the lobby cards for the notes.
-
Knees and legs are sore, and so is elbow. Not terrible, but not wonderful.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
Very nasty tummy tonight.
Can’t dance.
Oh, no! :(
~~~Feel Better Quickly Vibes!!~~~

Let’s begin the process of moving to the following page.
-
Or PRO-cess as the Canadians say. (Long “o”)
-
We had a good frost today. It dipped a degree under freezing in the night, but that’s ok. Seems to be staying above freezing for the foreseeable future.
Right now, here in Tumwater, it is:
-
A balmy 35 up here in Pt. Bob.
-
Does not look like it will dip below freezing tonight.
-
But it will be 32 which IS freezing.
-
Goodbye 7.
-
Hello 8.
-
Or PRO-cess as the Canadians say. (Long “o”)
Years ago, I remember seeing commercials on Canadian TV for what was called (for legal reasons, I'm sure) "PRO-cessed cheddar cheese food." ::)
-
Or “huit,” as we say in French.
-
;D
-
Ha! Yes, they have to call Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, “Kraft Dinner.”
-
Man I think I’ll buy a box of that stuff next time I’m at the store.
-
For old time’s sake.
-
It got me through college, after all.
-
They also say “pasta” so it rhymes with Shasta.
-
They also say “pasta” so it rhymes with Shasta.
Yup!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
