Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Jerry Herman's notes, and now it is time for you to post until the Herman cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: QUALITY!

John G, sorry to hear in last night's posts about the shoe mishap, and glad it got resolved.

That's so interesting. Thanks for linking that, George.

Good morning, all!
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I was never a historian about the Third Reich, but I am beginning to feel like a Nazi-despiser stuck in Germany around 1933, unable to leave the country because of age, health, financial affairs, whatever, and both hating and terrified by the events unfolding. I also feel like Cassandra outside the walls of Troy, spouting news that may possibly be true but nothing that anyone will believe.
Yesterday's release of the white trash Jan. 6 convicts? I believe our Adolph Redux will use them and their dumbass followers to create his own Gestapo, and all hell is going to follow. We do not have a Poland to invade, but the sonofabitch wants Greenland, and we already know he has no intentions of keeping the USA in NATO.
-
And others.
-
.
-
No, I did not sleep well last night. Much as I support Bide, Kamala, anmd the previous administration, I am angry beyond words for the following errors of the past four years:
1. The administration, beginning on Jan.. 20, 2021, should have done everything to insure that Fat Orange Felon could never run for office again.
2. Merrick Garland and his office dragged their feet far too long to press charges against FOF.
And so much for spilled milk.
-
As for me? I need something good to happen. I doubt that damned CD will ever be released; I have no word about the A&T book, the ballet has interest and things are in motion, but nothing is solid. None of this is helping me with my living situation.
-
And that's enough self-pity for one day.
-
One miore, The following Biden Executive Orders from 20212 were canceled yesterday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Not that I think there's very much "good" out there.
-
It is ZERO degrees headed for 26 degrees......here. Most of the sn*w is gone...
-
My question for ASK BK DAY - do you know how to swim?
-
The Jerry Herman Notes were fabulush....as Carol C would say.
-
I've got some music to work on today -- I must make a recording to help someone with harmony on a song, get another song into my fingers so I can play it competently at a voice lesson, likewise be able to play several more at a little program three singers and I are doing at a retirement home in a couple of weeks, and...there's something else...what is it?
Oh yeah. Listen to "Part of Your World" from the Disney "live action" (sic) Little Mermaid movie and make a piano recording in that arrangement for another person. I love Menken's score (for the show, I mean), including that song, but it's one of the most overused audition songs these days, and I roll my eyes when it comes to young singers blatantly imitating renditions like that. But I agreed to do it before I knew exactly what it entailed, which is my own fault, and do it I shall.
-
Our current temperature...
On the Apple weather app on my iPhone: 0 degrees
On the Apple weather app (yes, same exact app) on my iPad: 6 degrees
On Accu(sic)Weather via Safari on the World Wide Web: -5 degrees
On Weather Channel via Chrome on the World Wide Web: 3 degrees
Take your pick.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Awfully glad Jerry Herman helped out with the notes
-
Notes Dollied. Maimed.

Any resolution at the office?

I’m still employed and ultimately the disrespect was just a misunderstanding or at least is being framed that way to keep me in the fold. It’s a good wake-up call though for me to start applying elsewhere.
-
Thing is, I like my job and writing about cemeteries. It woke up my dormant writing abilities and belief in them. But I keep coming back to JP Finch in H2$. Do NOT get stuck in the mailroom. This is my entry point back into the working world. I can’t stay.
-
Just so you know....Saturday will be special....universally speaking.

And I’ve learned about web posting and digital media and skills I didn’t need when I first left the biz.

JRand. Want to write about Frances Farmer for us? Let me know. She’d be a good subject for our funerals of the famous series.
-
When I really started getting into my family's genealogy back in the early aughts, I took a couple of car trips around the Ohio-Pa.-W.Va. and the Hudson Valley regions to document gravesites. I got somewhat active on Ancestry and then discovered Find A Grave and even made a few contributions there. The upshot of much of that was that I got fascinated with cemeteries and the incredible beauty of some of them. The grand older ones, especially, but certain others, too. I'm afraid I've let those activities dwindle to almost a halt over the past several years in favor of other pursuits, but it's something I will return to, hopefully this very year.
-
Best of luck with the job search, Rodzinski.
-
Findagrave is an amazing resource. A older fellow from my town is very active on there. He oversaw 3 American cemeteries in Europe and had some amazing photos I used to accompany an interview I did with him.
-
Yes of course DR RODZINSKI...
-
I have some inside info about the happenings at her funeral.
-
I like Find a Grave....and Find a Death dealing with celebrities is also most interesting.

I've been quite active on Ancestry and Find a Grave. I've been able to learn so much about our family history that I never knew before. With DNA testing, we even discovered things that the family genealogists who had been working at this for decades before me didn't know.
-
You know you're a genealogist when you go see a movie set in London (Disobedience) and the main sight in the movie that you recognize is Willesden Cemetery!
-
Last night was our stumble-through of La sonnambula where we get the full cast and chorus together and go through the whole score. Our principals are amazing! Some of them we've sung with before, but others are new to us. This is not easy stuff for either the principals or the chorus. For chorus the music is technically simple, there's just so much of it and so many words. We're onstage for all but 25 minutes - I timed the two breaks last night.
-
I've gotten some DNA "hints" that I'm afraid I haven't even looked into yet, and I look forward to it.
-
Tonight's dinner with my director has to be rescheduled, which is fine because I have plenty to get done today.
Sometimes a cancellation is a gift, even when it's something you enjoy perfectly well. :)
-
I"m up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep.
-
Maybe.
-
Can't be sure.
-
Who knows?
-
Yes, I can swim.

From John:
Just found out the shelter is open only when the temperature drops below 32. Thursday’s low is supposed to be 33, so they may take a day off. Friday and Saturday are supposed to be back in the 20s, so they’re planning for then.
Interesting. Does that include the chill factor?
-
From John:
I had a weird mishap tonight. I was wearing an old pair of shoes that keep my feet warm. I haven’t worn them in years. Apparently they were old enough for the glue to have given up the ghost. The entire sole of my right shoe fell off.
I'm glad they were able to repair your shoes. It kind of make sense that a shelter would have industrial strength spray glue for repairing shoes.
-
DR John you have reminded me I should look for my silk sock liners to keep my feet warm in the winter.
-
Thank you DR Jeanne. Stay safe and fire free vibes to you.
-
Bruce, good luck everyone accepts and you truely are cast.

It’s really a day center for the homeless. On those 350 days of the year that it’s warm.

My question for ASK BK DAY - do you know how to swim?
This question seems extremely strange to me having grown up in Los Angeles surrounded by swimming pools and the ocean ;D
-
DR Jrand I think my response to your question answered it ;)

I'm glad it has been a good experience for you. Since you enjoy your work, and it has also been a beneficial learning experience, you can take your time looking for something else. I would say you are in a very good position.

We have had emotional experiences visiting family graves.

I think it is great that you have been volunteering there, especially for the late shift.

Yes of course DR RODZINSKI...
I shall reach out privately.

I like Find a Grave....and Find a Death dealing with celebrities is also most interesting.
Years ago I interviewed Scott, the findadeath guy. Great fun. He later took TPunk and I on a tour of interesting tragic locations around LA.

Yesterday because we live where we live, it helps to schedule the entire family dental appointment at the same time. Not a cavity in the family, I’m happy to report.

Hi
-
I've been in a foul mood and thought I'd not inflict myself on my friends
-
My mood is becoming somewhat lightened since we head off to see Vixter Vixhubby and Vixson this week.
-
Well be celebrating a first birthday the day before we leave
-
I've not been doing much other than laundry, packing and shoveling
-
Just heard another school shooting, this one in Nashville

Foul mood returning

Yes DR JANE indeed my question was answered.
I on the other hand do not know how to swim....my only hope will be to sink to the bottom and run as fast as I can for shore.
I wondered as much since you asked the question. I don't know how old Bruce or DR Jeanne were when they learned. I still remember being thrown into the pool when I was a toddler at my first swim lesson. I am sure by then I was used to being in the water and just started swimming.
-
My cousin that is the same age was traumatized by the same method. Still he swam and was a good swimmer. I wondered if the difference was my having older siblings while he was the oldest.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!
My mood is becoming somewhat lightened since we head off to see Vixter Vixhubby and Vixson this week.
Time with grands is the BEST antidote! We saw nothing live on TV Monday, because we’re at Charlotte and Hannah’s and they (and their Mom) had the day off (for MLK, not you-know-who). We played with the belated Christmas presents we brought and they watched videos of another DT (Daniel Tiger) on Grandad’s iPad.
-
Mary Linda left late Monday afternoon for a work trip so we’ve learned the drop-off and pick-up routines at one daycare and the pick-up at the other. That really helps Rob get in full work days.

Momma’s car stayed here, so we’re using it for the transports. It’s the next bigger Buick from mine, which we drove up here, so Richard is pretty comfortable driving it.

Such fun DR GINNY.

DR VIXMOM very excited for your trip!

Not your car but a comfortable one to drive, great solution. I couldn't imagine you actually changing the car seats.

Will you be there for a couple of weeks or is that how long you will be gone in total?

If Freyja lived where the weather is nice we would go for her birthdays.

Good afternoon.

I got my errands done this afternoon.

For those of you who like cemeteries, check out "Faces of the Forgotten" on Youtube.

Yay, Keith also got it in two today.
He only had one in the right spot. Fortunately he had several oranges and picked the right word for his second guess.

That is satisfying.

Way to go Pennsylvania!
-
My two favorite basketball teams.....NBA Minnesota Timberwolves and college Saint Louis Billikins are both playing tonight - at the same time and different channels.....
I blame DR JOSE for this mishagoss.
-
DR elmore3003, I have also been fighting with Apple Music, though not as dire a situation as you have. Could not get it to play ANYTHING. So I deleted the app, then reinstalled it. It took 24 hours to reconstruct my library, but now all is restored and in working order. Might be different for a computer, though.
-
We shall expect a full fashion repor, DR Jrand74.
-
DR elmore3003, it appears that R.U. Fémos's brother has published a cookbook! :)

Went back to bed at eleven and slept until three.

So, the Ivanka-Billy Wilder connection is out. The dense daughter wore one of Audrey Hepburn’s gowns from Sabrina to the inaugural ball, clearly not understanding that Hepburn would have been horrified by anything related to the fat orange turd.
-
The designer said the dress would look good on her and it did. I really wouldn't expect her to think about what Audry Hepburn's reaction would be.
-
I really wouldn’t expect her to think. But if you put on a Nazi face, don’t emulate someone who was victimized by the Nazis.
-
Finishing up Knife Skills for Beginners. It’s a pretty nifty murder mystery.
-
I really wouldn’t expect her to think. But if you put on a Nazi face, don’t emulate someone who was victimized by the Nazis.
I doubt she believes she is a Nazi. After all, she is "Jewish" ::)
-
She is stupid.
-
I really like Saorise Ronan. But I am not sure I am up for The Outrun tonight.
-
I'll give it a try.
-
Six!
-
She is stupid.
Or ignorant, or more concerned about looking pretty. I remember when Chelsea Clinton said Ivanka "went to the dark side."
-
For you insomniacs who like a little early Hitchcock now and then, TCM is running it all night. THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH is on now, Albert Hall sequence.
-
For you insomniacs who like a little early Hitchcock now and then, TCM is running it all night. THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH is on now, Albert Hall sequence.
Sounds like fun.
-
I'm going to watch the rest of The Outrun. It's harrowing, but Ronan is really good and the script pulls no punches. It's the story of a woman's battle to go sober.
-
There's a near-fatal flaw here. The movie unfolds in a nonlinear structure, and there is no need for that. In fact, it detracts from an excellent performance and even robs some sympathy for this woman.
-
Next to the Planet Fitness we went to this morning was a discount market. We purchased blueberries at a better price than the ones I passed on at Costco on Monday. The rest of the veggie selection wasn't great and we didn't get much.
-
I hear DR Laura has some gorgonzola.
-
If you need that.
-
Gorgonzola. The name of my third daughter. If I had had three.

-
On the road to Rupert.

Starting a movie called Castle Keep. Burt Lancaster sporting an eye patch heads a huge all-star cast including Patrick Neal, Bruce Dern and Peter Falk. Sydney Pollack directs.
So far, the Michel Legrand score is atrocious.

I really wouldn’t expect her to think. But if you put on a Nazi face, don’t emulate someone who was victimized by the Nazis.
Exactly!

I would just eat them
So would I!
-
They are pretty designs, though.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
I’m getting tired.
-
But I will finish Castle Keep.
-
The over-the-top performances aren’t winning me over.
-
But Peter Falk is always fun.
-
Except when he’s not.
-
This disc has another Pollack I haven’t seen, Bobby Deerfield.
-
I’ll watch that tomorrow or Friday v
-
Onward!
-
Hail, Rupert!
-
Aka seven!
-
I did get to visit with my friend Jack today for about 15 minutes. He answered the door.
-
He was glad to see us. We were certainly glad to see him.
-
Good night, all.
-
Ah, the page that shall not be named.
-
Celebratory dinner was celebratory.
-
Met friend Marshall Harvey at the Smokehouse.
-
He had a cup of clam chowder and the filet mignon.
-
I had the Wednesday special - fish and chips. And clam chowder. All excellent.
-
I only had two very thin pieces of the garlic cheese bread.
-
I was too full for dessert, and so was Marshall.
-
I had a $100 gift certificate, so the entire thing cost thirty bucks - the tip and tax.
-
I was really full and it wasn't that much food.
-
Maybe because that was all I had to eat today.
-
And what a peculiar day it was.
-
Not enough sleep, up, proofing, back to bed at eleven, sleeping until three, catching up on stuff, and then going to dinner.
-
Once home, proofed some more, than watched some YouTube crap, then proofed some more - about sixty-five pages so far today and I'll definitely do more once the notes are posted.
-
Speaking of notes, guess I should write some.
-
That's great about having the gift certificate, BK!
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Where'd George get to?
-
Somewhere.
-
Not here.
-
Out there.
-
We float.
-
Enter page eight.
-
Just in time.
