Well, you've read the notes, the notes were to the tune of Soon It's Gonna Rain, and now it is time for you to post until the rainy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ZHUZH!
-
Not quite ready for bed yet.
-
But who is?
-
Where's Dino at the piano when you need him.

Fantastic (or should it be Fantastick?) Jones & Schmidt writing the notes lyric!
And yes, also congrats to George on being in BK's lyric.

TOD: Does title song mean the song had to be written for the movie, as opposed to a later movie made with the title of the song?
Favorites that come right to my mind are "Yellow Submarine" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
-
then a rank below those would be "Georgy Girl" and "You Light Up My Life"
Not sure if "Night Fever" counts as a title song from "Saturday Night Fever," but I really like that song.
-
If songs that became movie titles later count for the TOD, I'd add "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia" and "Harper Valley PTA"
-
Good morning, all!
-
Since I havbe been failing at my 5:30 alarms, I deliberatrely set today's alarm for 6:00, and finally got out of bed at 6:30. I slept rather well with all three felines spending much of the night with me.
-
I'm not sure what I am doing today. I need to track down a DVD I cannot locate at the moment, I want to get a big start on my taxes this weekend, I'm still on the C's in my iTunes mess, and I'm proofreading my sequel to Annabelle & Thatch. I really need a paying job.

Yesterday, I heard on the news that a 12 year-old Connecticut boy was shot for throwing snowballs at a car. I am so glazd I grew up when I did.

According to wartime anecdotes, a stray cat is said to have wandered into the Cairo Conference in 1943, briefly interrupting the high-stakes meeting between leaders like Churchill, Roosevelt, and Chiang Kai-shek. Though unverified, this light-hearted tale reflects the unexpected ways animals brought moments of calm and levity to even the most serious occasions during World War II.

Saturday morning greetings! We had a smooth drive back from Illinois yesterday. Even though I miss those kiddos, I’m very glad to be home.

Good morning, all.

I believe it is Saturday again. Stay tuned for updates.

Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.

It is a balmy 24 degrees here headed for a steamy 41 degrees.

Jan Murray was also in Thunder Alley a stock car racing movie starring Fabian and Annette Funicello.

I shall try to remember the notes....they were most excellent.

TOD:
The Parent Trap
Beach Blanket Bingo
Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing
The Blob
I'm sure there will be more.

I sit here at my laptop on a Saturday morning. It is very cold, but there is the most ghastly squabble from a gaggle of geese out on the pond.
One wonders, as one does, I suppose, what it is that gets them into such a state. Simple souls.
-
I do not know where this month has gone.
I do know, however, that I have a new CPAP in my future. I did a sleep study a while back and got my consultation and results yesterday.
It was a miserable night, the night of sleep study, and my misery was reflected in the results. Sleep Apnea is part of who I am, for the rest of my life, and it's incumbent upon me to alleviate the problem with a new machine. The machine I have is 10 years old and is considered "ancient", apparently. Oh, well. Like me....
-
I had a passing thought yesterday about an Alexander Pope poem that had inspired the title of a novel and movie of that novel. DR JRand will know what I mean since my memory of a past discussion herein involved him:
Wise wretch! With pleasures too refin'd to please
With too much spirit to e'er be at ease
You purchase pain with all that joy can give
And die of nothing but a rage to live.
-
I relate a little to that poem, although i am definitely pleased I have not died,
-
Hah-hah!
-
Yes DR RON PULLIAM - it describes some of my days perfectly as well....especially now.
-
I was looking at DR GEORGE's list from last night.
I guess I won't be able to buy any new underwear until 2029.
-
My health insurance covers a new C-PAP machine every five years. I guess that's their expected lifespan.
-
Maybe that inspired JRB to write that musical.

The(y) Last Five Years... the C-PAP musical.

The description of the movie from imdb sounds complicated.
"A Rage to Live"
It’s a hot soap from ’65, when movies promised raging passion but delivered cheap teases and hypocritical judgments. It’s Suzanne Pleshette’s only starring role, but it doesn’t exploit her bright personality, her sense of humor. John O’Hara’s tale hasn’t much pity for a promiscuous young wife who breaks the rules. Does nymphomania make her a social menace, or is she victimized by a script determined to put the blame on Mame?

The full name for the CPAP sounds much more user-friendly than saying CPAP!
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure sounds very pleasant somehow. CPAP doesn't.

Strange weather we’re having. After being below freezing last night, tonight’s low is projected to be 57. High of 64 today.

Yesterday UPS said they were delivering a package in the afternoon. It arrived in the morning while we were at the gym. They didn't leave it since a signature is required.
-
This morning they said it would arrive between 2:00 & 6:00. Fortunately we decided to stay home this morning. Sure enough, it arrived around 10:15, close to the time they attempted to deliver it yesterday.

I ate too much. I am simply not able to decimate a side salad with bleu cheese dressing, a 10 oz rib eye and asparagus with any expediency. Highlights will be on YouTube.

I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of excellent sleep.

Got up at two and had to answer about ten e-mails re Drat! The Cat! and quite a few others.

One thing I cannot stand with 99-seat theater, at least THIS 99-seat theater, is that I end up having to figure out the rehearsal schedule. That is not a director's job - that is a stage manager's job.

When we did Hit Song, The Musical, I just showed up and directed that day's work as scheduled by the stage manager.
-
I don't even have a printed out script yet.
