Well, you've read the notes, the notes were once again, once again late to the party, and now it is time for you to post until the once again cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GALLANT!

Good morning.
-
Beautiful kitchen, Jane. I could cover that in powdered sugar in no time.
-
We are supposed to get rain early tomorrow morning. I'd better wash the car today.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I woke, ready to go, and wondering why the alarm had not rung. Then I looked at the clock. It was 11:15, and I had been in bed for two hours and forty-five minutes. Completely chagrinned, I went bvack to bed and slept rather well until the alarm rang at 5:30.
-
Today, I must change the filter in the air purifier. The cat hair in the air is getting thick.
-
Good morning, all.

I've been doing that recently -- falling asleep, waking up thinking it's surely very early morning and I wish I had more of the night left, and - voilà! - I look at the clock and it's 11:30 or 12:30.
I've also tended to fall asleep with the TV on, and at some point its light and maybe a little sound wake me and I think it's daylight...
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'll take a burger. Anybody delivering?
-
I love a James Beard cheeseburger, in which the cheese is at the center of the patty. Beard, who wrote about food for the New York Times, in case anyone has forgotten him, didn’t like a slab of cheese on top of the patty.
-
!!!!!!! I FOUND IT !!!!!!!
-
Sorry. Got a little excited there.
-
There’s a local burger chain called Chester’s, which sells a green chili hamburger. The richness of the canned chilies, which are mild, not hot, add to the rest of the flavors. Yum.
-
!!!!!!! I FOUND IT !!!!!!!
Hoo and ray!
-
San Antonio has a local favorite, the bean burger, which is not vegetarian. It’s a burger topped with refried beans, Frito’s and fresh or pickled jalapeños. I love it with a fresh tomato salsa added.
-
I woke up at 4 a.m. by a dream that my DH said he was leaving me. So I immediately began throwing out all his stuff. In my dream.
-
!!!!!!! I FOUND IT !!!!!!!
I remember this campaign on billboards all over many years ago.
-
I need to go to north Scottsdale today to water my friends plants. I'm thinking I will take the free city trolleys so I don't have to put miles on the car. It takes hours to do this. But I have time. It will keep me from keeping up with the news, I guess.

When it's sn*wing outside when you wake up momentarily in the middle of the night, it's seemed to me there can be an illusion of light outside through the blinds.
But then, when you look at the time, you realize it's still the middle of the night.

I nominate Laura to make this for me.

Rain last night.....
-
TOD:
I really like the White Castle sliders with American cheese.
I also like the Whopper from Burger King and the Baconator from Wendy's.
-
Congrats to DR RODZINSKI on his trivia win.
-
It is 25 degrees here headed for 29 degrees and NO precipitation.
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.
I am looking forward to hearing about The Book.
-
Notes gilded. Celebrated.

One question was to name the 5 ingredients that make a pesto sauce.
-
2, the page.
-
One question was to name the 5 ingredients that make a pesto sauce.
Gosh. Basil, olive oil, pine nuts, pecorino...or was it Parmesan?
-
In my more adventurous years, I would make my own pesto, using James Beard's recipe. But...more than 30 years have passed.
-
FWIW, pesto mixed with mayonnaise makes a wonderful addition to a smoked turkey sandwich.
Just sayin'!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished and I've changed the air purifier filter. The air purifier is hap[pily chugging away.
-
I haven't made the bed yet; I've been dealing with two unpleasant email issues.
-
One question was to name the 5 ingredients that make a pesto sauce.
Gosh. Basil, olive oil, pine nuts, pecorino...or was it Parmesan?
Parmesan and also garlic.
-
Unpleasant emails all over the place!
-
Rodzinski, congrats on your success at the trivia game!
-
Pesto Change-O.

Wordle in five.

Pesto Change-O.
LOL!
-
One question was to name the 5 ingredients that make a pesto sauce.
Basil, evoo, garlic, pine nuts and parmigiano.
-
I see it was already answered.
-
From DR John:
Nice kitchen, Jane. I could mess it up in a matter of minutes.
LOL. Thanks.
-
Beautiful kitchen, Jane. I could cover that in powdered sugar in no time.
Thanks. Powdered sugar really does go everywhere ;D
-
Now I am in the mood for my nut free Mexican Wedding cakes.
-
I bet powdered sugar would just start another coughing attack.
-
We are supposed to get rain early tomorrow morning. I'd better wash the car today.
Maybe you will actually get it this time with the storms headed to the West Coast.
-
Keith returned to the gym this morning and will make a stop at the market on the way home.
-
I love a James Beard cheeseburger, in which the cheese is at the center of the patty. Beard, who wrote about food for the New York Times, in case anyone has forgotten him, didn’t like a slab of cheese on top of the patty.
Bruce, reading this I immediately thought of Stats.
-
!!!!!!! I FOUND IT !!!!!!!
YAY!
-
Sorry. Got a little excited there.
;D
-
I woke up at 4 a.m. by a dream that my DH said he was leaving me. So I immediately began throwing out all his stuff. In my dream.
Did you wake up angry and have to remind yourself it was a dream?
-
Congrats to DR RODZINSKI on his trivia win.
Ditto!
-
DR Rodzinski did you win anything or just the satisfaction of winning?
-
The temperature is around 40, but the wind makes it feel much colder.
-
Next week, it's going below freezing for three nights.
-
I will have to cover plants again.
-
Three!
-
The temperature is around 40, but the wind makes it feel much colder.
It is 30 here but feels like 10 with the high winds.
-
There is white stuff also blowing around out there.
-
Keith called me from the market to ask if I wanted the only Pasture fed eggs he could find. They were all hardboiled. I should have asked him to take a photo as I can't imagine this.
-
I did not want hardboiled eggs so it is good he called. We still have one carton here so we are good for now.
-
DR Rodzinski did you win anything or just the satisfaction of winning?
50 dollar gift card to spend at the establishment.
-
Nice :)
-
The white stuff is now sticking to the ground. I'm glad Keith headed out early today.
-
Sunny up here. The weather app says we will not dip below freezing again for the foreseeable future. I, for one, welcome the 40s.
-
Congrats on the win DR RODZINSKI.
-
I really like the red knobs on DR JANE's cooktop......very FAH-ncy.
-
People are nuts - there are lines a block long at Costco with people hoarding eggs. I have some here, but I rarely make them.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep.
-
Got up at nine-thirty. Some of the weirdest dreams ever. Not unpleasant, just weird as can be.
-
People are nuts - there are lines a block long at Costco with people hoarding eggs. I have some here, but I rarely make them.
Maybe you should put them on Ebay? :)
-
Eggbay.
-
Eggbay.
:) Excellent! Maybe potentially a Brechtian musical along the lines of URINETOWN.
-
One question was to name the 5 ingredients that make a pesto sauce.
Basil, evoo, garlic, pine nuts and parmigiano.
Marcella Hazan's recipe adds Romano and butter. It's really good.
-
Eggbay.
:) Excellent! Maybe potentially a Brechtian musical along the lines of URINETOWN.
Too soon? :)
-
That cake sounds heavenly, John. You are the better baker, though.
-
TOD: I rarely eat fast food any more. I always liked the Jack-in-the-Box Ultimate Cheeseburger.
I bought one after my last blood donation, and I was disappointed.
-
I would have gone to In And Out if it had been closer.
-
TOD: Most burgers we haven't out aren't as good as the bison burgers we make at home. In Detroit (well, Dearborn) there was Miller's Bar which had some mighty great burgers. I think it's still around. For the fancy burgers, there's a really nice version in San Francisco at Marlowe and The Cavalier. Plain is great, but good cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions all make fine toppings.
-
The popular thing now is smashburgers, and while I get the appeal, I prefer thicker burgers. We do have a decent smashburger place in the food hall downtown which makes a good change of pace.
-
I really like the red knobs on DR JANE's cooktop......very FAH-ncy.
Thank you. I was just looking at them and thinking how much I like the red color :)
-
I woke up at 4 a.m. by a dream that my DH said he was leaving me. So I immediately began throwing out all his stuff. In my dream.
Did you wake up angry and have to remind yourself it was a dream?
Not about that. The news makes me angry.
-
They came with a spare set of black knobs in case we want to change them.
-
People are nuts - there are lines a block long at Costco with people hoarding eggs. I have some here, but I rarely make them.
You can only hoard eggs for so long since they expire ;D
-
I eat a lot of eggs so I do try to stay an extra carton ahead of the game, especially since I only buy humane eggs. My opinion of humane is only pasture fed, not cage free.
-
I woke up at 4 a.m. by a dream that my DH said he was leaving me. So I immediately began throwing out all his stuff. In my dream.
Did you wake up angry and have to remind yourself it was a dream?
Not about that. The news makes me angry.
Unfortunately we can't wake up from the nightmare that is the news and know it was only a dream.
-
Yes, hoarders are idiots! And the prices continue to climb whenever there are sell-outs which now happen daily.
-
Meanwhile, FELON47 is doing nothing/nada/zip to bring any prices down on anything.
I cannot believe there hasn't been a major uprising in our populace. Trump should be driven from office. And his little Elon, too.
-
The people who voted for Trump still seem to be happy with what he is doing, unless they are too embarrassed to admit they were wrong :(
-
Or they continue to watch and read lies vs what is really happening.
-
That cake sounds heavenly, John. You are the better baker, though.
Um, no, Madame Croquembouche.
-
I am amazed at the turnover speed. I emailed my tax information yesterday to my new accountant, and I just got the completed forms for my electronic signature!
-

LOL. You didn't see them.

Congrats, ChasSmith! ;D

That looks so good!
-
I really love a good cheeseburger. My favorite place in New York for one was the late lamented Barrymore's, who also had my favorite onion soup. My favorite fast food cheeseburger is Wendy's, which I like with lettuce, tomato, dill pickle, and mustard.
-
Speaking of pesto ...
Preppy Kitchen just uploaded a video about how to make gnocchi.
-
So, there’s a protest planned for noon Monday. People are supposed to call their congressman and rage against Trump, Musk and Putin. But it’s a federal holiday Monday and people supposedly won’t be working in those offices that day.

That's pretty cool. :)
-
Sunny up here. The weather app says we will not dip below freezing again for the foreseeable future. I, for one, welcome the 40s.
It's barely trying to snow here, and it definitely won't stick or last very long at all.
-
People are nuts - there are lines a block long at Costco with people hoarding eggs. I have some here, but I rarely make them.
I have some eggs, too, but I hope that I use them up before it's too late. ::)
-
Or they continue to watch and read lies vs what is really happening.
They have to believe it...the totally drank the Kool-Aid. :P
-

That's wonderful, Larry!

I’ve done that once. Never again.
Really? What went wrong? I used a fork. They didn't need to be perfect. My daughter and I were the ones to eat them, so I'm sure they were quite ugly.

The recipe made enough to feed 400. I was so tired of them after freezing them, thawing and reheating that I never want to think about making them ever again.
-
My mother ended up eating the last 150 servings or so.
-
I am amazed at the turnover speed. I emailed my tax information yesterday to my new accountant, and I just got the completed forms for my electronic signature!
Are you able to look them over, since this is your first year with a new accountant?
-

Our side is soooo organized!

Oh my! He only used one pound of potatoes. So a small batch.
-
I think mine used 10 pounds. It was a restaurant recipe.
-
Onward!

Five!

Nice FOLLIES, etc link DR JOHNG.

My local Indy news just reported that a planned school shooting in my town scheduled for tomorrow was thwarted because someone told the FBI of the plan.
I am so sad.....and yet so grateful.

David Edward Byrd did more than the Follies poster.
https://ultimateclassicrock.com/david-edward-byrd-dead-at-83/
In late 2023, he released a book of his poster art. I first saw the Amazon listing on Monday, and they were selling this $45 book for only $9.77!
-
I added it to my cart and saved it for later, and didn't order it yet. The next day (Tuesday), the price had gone up to $10.26, so I thought that I'd better get it, and I did! It's supposed to be delivered next Tuesday!
-
Here's the listing:
POSTER CHILD: The Psychedelic Art & Technicolor Life of David Edward Byrd (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1949480402)
It's now up to $19.06. Get it soon if you want at least a 58% discount!

So, there’s a protest planned for noon Monday. People are supposed to call their congressman and rage against Trump, Musk and Putin. But it’s a federal holiday Monday and people supposedly won’t be working in those offices that day.
Sigh.

The recipe made enough to feed 400. I was so tired of them after freezing them, thawing and reheating that I never want to think about making them ever again.
Laughing at how much the recipe made, and at how sick of eating these you became, sent me into a coughing spell.
-
I think mine used 10 pounds. It was a restaurant recipe.
When I was young we had a Polish woman working for the family who made incredible Chicken Paprika. The only problem was that she only knew how to made it for at least 50 people at a time. Fortunately it froze well, and with a family of five we never tired of it.
-
It really was too much to make at once and once she left us my mother never made it again.
-

It doubles the frustration and is part of the reason why we lost the election.

Rain is really coming down hard now.

Hope it abates by the time I have to leave.

Fingers crossed the rain soon stops.

The idiot told his idolators that grocery prices would come down immediately. Instead - they've gone UP. And gas has gone up here by sixty cents in the past two weeks.

Trying to live the message of Put on a Happy Face - difficult right now.

Not very sporting.

That chain started in San Antonio by Phil Romano, who also started Romano's Macaroni Grill.
-
Dancing was exhausting tonight.
-
I've started The Substance, which is pretty good, but I doubt I will finish it tonight.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Well, I didn’t watch The Substance.
-
The new films on the library’s streaming site included The Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened, which I had never seen before.
-
So I devoured it. By the time they got to the 2002 reunion concert, I started losing it.
-
So after a healthy ugly cry or two about the paths they took since their glorious and infamous debut, it was amazing to me to see how things in their life paralleled and diverged from the show.
-
I had forgotten Giancarlo Esposito was in the show. Though he didn’t take part in the documentary, you can see him in several shots.
-
It’s time for bed.

Good night, all.

We finally have our last gal.

She and the couple of guys who were sick were working with the dance captain and they're all caught up
-
It was fun to do smaller scenes tonight. The first of them, which follows the opening number, is very funny and we came up with some good stuff for it. In lieu of the way I was feeling, it was a good tonic.
-
Then we did the scene and the song She's Roses. Then then end of act one.
-
So I devoured it. By the time they got to the 2002 reunion concert, I started losing it.
