Well, you've read the notes, the notes revealed a book, and now it is time for you to post until the revealing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPLENDOR!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Congrats on the modern major miracle, BK! And that's a great cover for the new book!

Las Vegas Murder book sounds delicious.

I’m fine with MRIs and CAT scans and such. But I am due for the colonoscopy and I have been slow to book the appointment.
-
Terrific cover in the notes for the new book!
-
So happy to hear about yesterday's modern major miracle, BK!
-
Thanks, George, for your comment on the video last night!
-
Good morning, all!
-
The last 45 minutes have been pure hell, and I hope this does not bode ill for the remainder of the day.
-
I woke, got dressed in my underwear, since I was hoping to bathe this morning before some visitors arrived aropund 11:00. I turned on the TV news, opened the computer, and the first email was from my landlord: still no hot water until later today. Nix the bath.
-
I went to feed the cats. On my way to the kitchen I turned on the hanging lamp, then turned on the foyer light and unlocked the door. I opened the door to see if anyone had left any packages at my door, ands Stella ran out into the hall. I closed the door and began to prepare the cats' breakfast. I went back to the door and opened it, expecting to see a bored Stella to come inside.
-
She wasn't there, so I called her, expecting her roaming the third floor would bring her back to the Apartments A-C. There was no sopund so I called her name again. She responded with a loud cry, only it wasan't loud because it was coming from somewhere on another floor and I was hearing the sounds coming from the stairwell.
-
So, I got the walker, whose tote bag was filled with the recyclables and trash for the basement and went to the elevator. On the way there was a barrage of frightened kitty screams, and all I could think about was irate neighbors cursing and yellingor having a noisy cat roaming the halls. So I took the cart to the basement to empty it. If I needed a tote bag to carry Stella, it had to be emptied.
-
I went to the basement, dump[ed the bag's contents and rode the elevator up to five. I figured I'd better work my wat down each floor unbtil I located her. At five, I stepped off the elevator and called her name. No sounds, nada, zilch. This worried me.
-
I went down to four, stepped out of the elevator and called her name. Stella came round the corner of the hall and stepped into the levator with absolutely no coaxing from me. We rode down to floor and she sat in the elevator glued to my left leg. The elevator opened on three, I stepped out, she followed, and then she ran ahead to the apartment. I opened the door, and sheo the apartment. Thatch ws waiting at the door for her.
-
I then opened the cats food, put my cup of coffee water intp the microwave, put Thatch and Annabelle onto my teacart, picked up Stella's dish and dropped it. At my feet were was a large pile of Fancy Feast minced tuna. I got paper towels, cleaned up the mess, and opened another can of the Fancy Feast for Stella. I took the cup of water from the microwaveared my coffee, and fed the cats. And here we are.

Doug Fullington, who hired me to score the ballet in 2023, had an event on Thursday night at the NYPL for Performing Arts to celebrate his enormous tome on five classic ballets. I missed it because I thought it was on Friday night. So Doug and his partner Rich are coming to visit me around 11:00 this morning. I will ask him to sign my copy of his book. I hope it's a nice visit with no more complications.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Very excited about the new BK book. And great cover.
-
Also glad to hear about the modern major miracle.
-
Going down a nostalgic rabbit-hole with Dickie Goodman's "cut-in" or "break-in" records from the 70s, which consisted of a "reporter" asking questions, with the answers being short clips from pop radio hits. Examples are "Mr. Jaws" and "The Energy Crisis." DR Rodzinski probably knows all about these.
-
Looking forward to hearing about DR MichaelG's opening night.
-
Good morning, all.
-
What a hellish start to a day, DR Elmore. I'm glad everyone's back in the apartment.
-
I've got to make a panic-shop run to the supermarket before today's snowstorm gets here in the early afternoon. Just a few things needed, but it has to be done. The crowds will be HELL.

-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept better last night than the night before.
-
Good morning.
-
I have been waylaid by a bad cold for the past few days, but I seemed to have turned a corner

I’m still not caught up

Vibes for Elmore, I hope your visit is very fun

Good news about the book and the MMM.
Very nice cover.
-
I hope you have a nice visit with your friends DR ELMORE.
-
It is 36 degrees here headed for 45 degrees and rain.
-
Feel better, Vixmom..
-
It's supposed to hit 72 today.
-
Next week brings the coldest nights of the year.
-
I have had no problems so far with CT scans or MRIs.
-
I have been waylaid by a bad cold for the past few days, but I seemed to have turned a corner
Great that you're getting better, vixmom.
-
My first MRI was in October 1998, and it certainly took a toll on my claustrophobia. Since then. I've gotten used to the many I've had. In fact, the daily radiation treatments, Jan.-Feb. 2022, reminded me of being in an MRI.
-
The library’s streaming site has the three-hour “ultimate cut” of Caligula. I have never seen any of this before.
-
Good morning.
-
I have never had a CT or MRI.
-
The first half hour is dreadful. Peter O’Toole in bad disease makeup and John Gielgud seem eager to die and leave the picture.
-
My guests arrived shortly after 11:00 and left around 12:45. I had never met Rich, Doug's partner, and I really liked him. Doug and I had much to discuss, mostly about the future of the ballet, including a ballet suite for concert use, and other possible projects. It was a wonderful visit.
-
Today we are going to see the touring "Some Like it Hot."

Larry, that sounds promising.
Wishing you well for your many opportunities ahead in 2025!

Job vibes to the friend of DR Jrand who works for Home Security, and to all of our friends and family in government jobs.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
He did a Q&A on some website back in the day and I was able to tell him how meaningful a song was to my cousin when she lost her son, and he said feedback like that is what he calls his “heart payments.”
This is heartbreaking and beautiful.
-
Rodzinski I am glad you had a nice Valentine's Day
-
Feel better vibes for DR John.
-
I often read the notes after I catch up. Today I will read them now :)
-
Thanks, George, for your comment on the video last night!
My pleasure, Freddie!
-
First, I am excited about Vegas Can Be MURDER :) The cover looks great.
-
I found the efforts to out the locations on the video and your search to find out who "Chris" is very interesting. I hope you are able to out her.
-
Yay on finally getting the CAT scan booked.
-
I’m fine with MRIs and CAT scans and such. But I am due for the colonoscopy and I have been slow to book the appointment.
I am overdue. I do have an appointment to see a new gastro doctor next month.
-
Slept better last night than the night before.
So did I. In fact while I barely slept the night before I mostly slept last night.
-
I have been waylaid by a bad cold for the past few days, but I seemed to have turned a corner
Not covid though? A bad cold is what I feel like I have.
-
I have never had a CT or MRI.
Lucky you that you haven't needed to have them.
-
Today we are going to see the touring "Some Like it Hot."
Have a good time.
-
Thanks for the opening night vibes, DR Jrand74. We had an excellent performance.
-
Sometimes our opening night audiences are a little dead, but this crowd was with us from the beginning. They even laughed at some (but not quite all) of the jokes, which can be tricky to get an opera audience to do.
-
And now we get to do three more performances - this Sunday, then the following Saturday and Sunday.
-
TOD: I've got no problem with CAT scans, MRIs, colonoscopies, EKGs, or echocardiograms.
-
Congratulations on the new book, BK!
-
Thanks for the opening night vibes, DR Jrand74. We had an excellent performance.
Wonderful, and I sorry that I forgot to post vibes for your opening night.

Watched some basketball and several episodes of Dark Shadows.
Still fun to see.
-
My first MRI was horrific. Thank goodness the length of time to do these has been drastically reduced.
-
The following three MRIs were at the original length of thime and were only made easier by my letting the person doing them what I needed her to do to get me through it. Drugs helped with all of them.
-
As the time in the machine and not being able to move was reduced, I then stopped needing drugs to keep my muscles relaxed.
-
As for a CAT scan, it really depends on the position my body is put in. The first one I should have stopped it. The others have been ok.
-
Bruce have you been told if the CT scan will be with a contrast dye or not?
I usually need that and have never had a problem with it. I know you don't like needles, and it does leave one in your arm during the proceedure.
-
I will keep posting while I sip on tea.
-
Keith stopped at the market on his way home from the gym and picked up a few things.
-
The only item from my list that he could find, or remembered, were eggs.
He found a new brand of range free, pasture fed eggs that looks very good. I'll watch for them from now on.
-
The price of $7.49 was around what I have been paying for them, down from what they were.
-
Of course they are still up from what they used to be.
-
Tea is done and I'm going to read.
-
TOD: I've got no problem with CAT scans, MRIs, colonoscopies, EKGs, or echocardiograms.
Wow, not even the colonoscopy prep?
I don't have a problem with visiting the bathroom a lot. The first time I didn't know what to expect, but now it's fine, whatever.
-
And now we get to do three more performances - this Sunday, then the following Saturday and Sunday.
Vibes these nights are even better.
Thanks, DR Jane! Our nephew and niece are coming to the show tomorrow.
-
We've now gotten two comments from really good musicians who have heard the chorus over many years saying they can't recall the chorus ever sounding better - particularly the choral sound quality. That makes us (and our chorus director) very happy!

Those can also be painful, depending on the position your body part is placed and how much pain you are in before getting the x-ray.

Mr. Jaws was great. I have a compilation LP. I don’t know if he ever topped The Flying Saucer Pts. 1 & 2. The DJ announcing the names of the songs never fails to crack me up.

Saturday evening greetings! We had very modest Valentine’s Day plans that got cancelled because Richard woke up with a sore throat. I, appropriately, had my semiannual cardiology appointment and found out my heart is fine.

Great news about your cardiology exam!

Had a great rehearsal - got the ballet finished - short and sweet and the choreographer liked it and I only had to have her clean up one little section that no one seemed to get right. It's fast, it has laughs, and it gets us out of the Kabuki thing.

Our MD did a great job creating the music as we went along - all based on music in the show.
-
Went to Gelson's and got two tiny chicken tenders, some stuffing, and for so little food, I'm stuffed.
-
Also got a Caesar salad, which I'll eat later.

-
Back from dancing.
-
We worked on a new line dance to a song called Last Cheater’s Waltz.
-
Fun and easy, which I needed.
-
I didn’t have much energy.
-
I guess I spent all my energy eating dim sum this morning.
-
Six!
-
Watching Irma la Douce. It’s a bit forced.
-
The music is the best thing in the movie.
-
Bill Bixby just appeared in a cameo. He plsyed a sailor with Napoleon tattooed on his chest.
-
I have reached the halfway mark. I think Shirley MacLaine was right about the movie. It should have been called Nestor, My Sweet instead. It’s too much about Lemmon’s character and not enough about Irma.
-
I have a new fixation: I love watching the short videos of people in the film industry going through the Criterion Closet.
-
It's just great hearing personal stories people share about the movies that influenced them. And no one, so far, has picked Jeanne Diehlman or whatever that movie is called.
-
Good night, all.
-
I guess I spent all my energy eating dim sum this morning.
That sounds like a perfect use of energy! :)
-
Oh dear mid-page 6. That will not do.
-
That will not suffice.
-
Times like this, I ask, WWGGWD?
-
What would Gunther Gebel Williams do?
-
I’d be lion if I said I knew.
-
No growling aloud on HHW.
-
I have a million Ringling Bros. jokes at the ready.
-
Everyone knows about the Ringling Bros. and Barnum. But very little was known about this Bailey character.
-
Bailey was the Roebuck of the circus world.
-
I should know, I once went to Circus World up in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
-
Same time I saw the Tommy Bartlett Water Show.
-
A Wisconsin tourism legend with water skiers and dancing waters. Until the lake it was on got drained accidentally.
-
The Dancing Mud just didn’t have the same ring to it.
-
In those olden days, you parked at the Tommy Bartlett Water Show. And when the show ended and you went back to your car, it had a Tommy Bartlett Water Show bumper sticker on it whether you liked it or not.
-
One guy I saw performing that day as a warm-up was a kind of human sound effects guy. He could make it sound like a helicopter was about to land on the lake. Very impressive to young me.
-
The Wisconsin Dells, this magical vacationland was called.
-
Along the highway were cheese stores that were in buildings shaped like giant cheese rounds.
-
We also stopped at a few breweries for the parents to enjoy beer tastings. Very boring.
-
Though we went to Circus World and saw a circus, I must say even as a kid I didn’t much care for circuses. I do not lament their passing from the culture.
-
Well wishes to DH Richard.
-
And to Jane, kick that Covid!
-
And I got us here to the sad circus that is page 7.
-
I often don't have time to read the notes before catching up. I figure it is better to get more posts in and return to the notes later.
To each his or her own. :)

I'm home.

Ah, the page that shall not be named and yet is named.
-
George gets home AFTER midnight.

Which is why we're on this damn page.
-
Two posts and bye bye.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.

I've read them.

I wrote them.
