Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both happy and rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the happy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RADIANT!
-
Welcome, 426 GUESTS! Who ARE you people?

Good morning, all!

BK, DR vixmom and I saw Desperate Measures at the York and loved it. When it transferrewd off-Broadway, she and I saw it again with DR ChasSmith, DR Ginny, and Ginny's husband Richard. The original production was a hopot, so I hope this production you are seeing is good.

Well, today is (finally) laundry day, so I will be heading to ther basement as soon as I finish kitty cleanup.

BK, regarding the creators of DESPERATE MEASURES, if you're not familiar with David Friedman's name, you probably have heard some of his songs.
This song by David Friedman, even though it's called "My Simple Christmas Wish," has a hilarious sentiment that works all year long. :)

So great hearing how fun and productive the DRAT! THE CAT! rehearsals have been!
-
HHW has 387 Guests right now - on a Sunday morning!
Or are they still the stragglers from Saturday night?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sunday.
One weird dream that I can sort of visualize - so, not entirely forgotten, but it sure doesn’t make much sense.
-
The temperature is going up to around 42 today. We haven’t seen that in a while.
Ground is still solid white and a few inches deep, with a hard shiny surface. But hey.
-
Congratulations on the 45rpm finds, DR Rodzinski.
I’m stunned at the ignorance or just plain stupidity of that employee. That’s about as beyond the pale as you can get.
-
Good morning.
-
DR GEORGE that was a fun link.
-
I liked that song DR FREDDIE!
-
Glad to hear the rehearsals are going so well - and all of the drama is onstage this time.
-
Last night I NOSFERATU - I will finish it today.
The leading lady was whispering everything and I couldn't hear a word she said....but if I turned up the sound when everyone else talked or there was music or sound effects everything was TOO LOUD....
-
I hope MR BK enjoys the show!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Today is National Banana Bread Day.
-
I'll vote yes for that!
-
It is 32 degrees here headed for 44 degrees.
-
Last night I dreamed an entire novel - beginning middle and end.....although it obviously needs filling out.
I think I will sketch it out today although I have no idea what I would do with it. Perhaps after I go to the big theeder in the sky, someone will find it and I will become posthumously infamous!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Horrible night of sleep or the lack thereof. I guess it’s back to decongestant effects.
-
I’m looking forward to an afternoon nap.
-
Then again, I always do.
-
Two!
-
Thanks for the heads up on Nosferatu, JRand. It just came in at the library, so it’s on my to-watch stack.

One of the incentives for uploading stuff on the internet! :)

So interesting from the reports after Quincy Jones' passing - that it took ten years for Bart Howard's "Fly Me to the Moon" to get from Kaye Ballard's first recording to the Sinatra - Quincy Jones recording that put the song - and Bart Howard's name - on the eternal map.
-

:(
-
The eternal map, or the eternal nap?
-
Either would be acceptable.
-
Listening to Love Life.
-
From BBC/Opera North.
-
The plants in the window are enjoying the sunshine.
-
Was even able to crack the window a bit yesterday.
-
Either would be acceptable.
An "eternal nap" sounds sad, though!

The Screen Actors Guild awards stream tonight on Netflix. 8:00pm Eastern time.

No, I know who Friedman is - meant the cast and creatives.

Happy Sunday to everyone... the new episode of the Broadway Radio Show is up on the site! It's called What's New? as we look at 8 new releases of cast and vocalist recordings from New York and London to start off the new year!
http://www.haineshisway.com/the-broadway-radio-show-2/
-
I shall now be on my way to the Pearl's home environment, and then to see a show and then to sup.
-
Enjoy the show.
Sunday is a great Theeder day.

Have a great time, BK!

Still 392 Guests at 2:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon!
Maybe HHW is on its way to becoming THE place to be after Sunday brunch.
-
Is anyone in touch with DR Iris? Any news on her health?
-
DR FREDDIE yes....this is June Graham who was standing in for Betty Furness who was on vacation that week.
A stage hand had kicked the plug out of the outlet backstage and without current the automatic door wouldn't function. The live director certainly had to know what he was doing to tell the cameras what to do and when to cut to which one. Live theeder - theeder in front of MILLIONS of people.
June kept it going.....and I love her second time saying: "It opens automatically!"
-
Sending more health vibes to Iris!
-
I am watching IU vs. Purdue basketball.....don't talk to me....I'm concentrating.....
Nosferatu was a bit of a disappointment - but not entirely without interest.
I will be interested to hear DR JOHN G's opinion.
-
Is today DR MICHAEL G's closing performance on the left coast?
-
It is 43 degrees and Petey the PT Cruiser started right up.
I may still get him a new battery this fall.

Impressive poise in the face of adversity.
That delivery of "It opens automatically!" deserves to be a classic!
Thanks for linking that, Jrand!

It's the anniversary of Bobby Knight throwing a chair across the basketball floor.
The stupid jerk.....he stayed long after his welcome....and certainly long after his talent was warranted.
-
Can you tell I have no respect for Mr Bobby Knight and his coaching abilities?
He could be a brother of our current president with matching ego and ability.
DElusional in all areas.
-
But that's just my expert opinion.

Sunday is a nice day.
I kind of wish I was going to see a show......

Hello, everyone! I finished the laundry just before noon; it sits here, waiting to be folded and put away. I had a couple of email to take care of, and before I knew it, it was 1:30. I lay down with Stella and fell asleep. When I woke, it was 2:28, and time for their dinner and mine. I couldn't decide what I wanted and finally decided to fry a couple of eggs and use up several English muffins before they dried out. It was all very tasty.

DR Jrand74, using that dream, write a novel based on it. In 2018, when I started writing silly pieces aboput Annabelle and Thatch on Facebook, I never imagined I'd be published.
-
A little Wilder for the afternoon: Love in the Afternoon. Audrey Hepburn looks way too young for Gary Cooper, but they are sweet together.

I think Billy Wilder was an indiscriminate soda snob. One Two Three featured James Cagney as a Coca-Cola official. In Love in the Afternoon, Gary Cooper works for Pepsi. Soda was a sign of American capitalism, I guess.

Champagne wins out.

I've only seen this once and never wanted to visit it again. I thought Hepburn was wonderful but didn't like Cooper's charactor or their chemistry.

Wordle in Four as well.

DR JANE I've always felt the same way about Love In The Afternoon....the movie....
-
Couple of good basketball games this afternoon.....IU and Purdue and Ohio State and UCLA.....
Fun.
-
I shall have to ponder Nosferatu......not my cuppa I am afraid.
-
This has been a nice Sunday. Weather wise and sitting around wise.
Theeder starts in less than eight weeks, so I am enjoying it while I CAN!
-
Just covered up the pair of keets.
They were already on their sleeping perches.....6:55 p.m. locally.
-
A new episode of The White Lotus and Last Week Tonight....and a Timberwolves ball game.
-
Every body don't forget to email Elon what you accomplished at your job last week...at least 5 bullet points.
Failure to respond means automatic dismissal.

Have not seen Ron on here of late.

Iris, hope all is well with that flower of HHW.

Vixmom, hope she’s well also.

I just hope everyone is well.

Measure for Measure is one of my faves. Particularly the character Lucio, who is most witty.
-
Measure for Measure is one of my faves. Particularly the character Lucio, who is most witty.
I saw Measure for Measure the first summer I started going to the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival. I need to see it again.
-
I’m now watching Jean-Luc Godard’s pretentious take on King Lear.
-
There’s an hour of twaddle left.
-
The director Peter Sellers plays a character name William Shakespeare Jr. V.
-
That pretty much sums it up.
-
Nouveau twaddle filmmaker Leos Carax is in it.
-
Burgess Meredith and Molly Ringwald manage to make good impressions.
-
Onward!
-
Five!
-
The soundtrack features crazed seagulls squawking all too regularly.
-
J.B. is squawking too.
-
It’s all a mess.
-
Including the wretched essay that accompanied the film.
-
I guess I am just not a fan of this period of Godard.
-
But he has provided enough posts for the page turn.
-
Back from attending an Evensong service in honor of a friend who passed last year.
-
And then dined out after that.

Despite a nap this afternoon, I'm pooped.

But it is well past my normal bedtime.

Good night, friends.

Is today DR MICHAEL G's closing performance on the left coast?
Yes it was, thanks! Our biggest house of the run, nearly sold out, and probably the best overall performance.
-
Now we get a whopping 4 weeks off before starting music rehearsals for Otello. Usually we have more time but that's another big chorus show. Not as big as La sonnambula, nothing is, but with trickier music.
-
Is today DR MICHAEL G's closing performance on the left coast?
Yes it was, thanks! Our biggest house of the run, nearly sold out, and probably the best overall performance.
Great way to end a run.
-
Well, the movie is over.
-
Someone else’s idea of a masterpiece. Not mine.
-
Is today DR MICHAEL G's closing performance on the left coast?
Yes it was, thanks! Our biggest house of the run, nearly sold out, and probably the best overall performance.
Congratulations, MichaelG!
-
For all its sound and fury, it still signifies nothing.
-
I’m more fascinated by the background than the movie itself.
-
We’re gonna move a mountain
-
Or at least move off this page
-
In just a few posts
-
Or so they say
-
Who are they?
-
Six!
-
Fine page-turning work, John G!
-
Finally back from Desperate Measures (about which more in the notes) and dinner at the Outback (about which more in the notes).
-
I didn't care for Desperate Measures at all. Now, I know several here loved it at the York and I know it was a hit there, so I suspect this production was not up to that one. The direction here was very ordinary, I don't know how many pieces this was originally orchestrated for, but here it was three - piano, guitar/banjo, and violin - and that combo just put me to sleep after a while. A could of the cast members were fine, others not so much.
-
Good night, all.
-
I ordered my filet medium well. It arrived practically alive - I mean, RARE. So, back it went and when it came back it was medium rare. I suspect with a filet that what the Smokehouse does is the only way to get it to medium well - which is to butterfly the steak.
-
Also, a baked potato and a small dinner salad.
-
It was all okay.
-
BK, DR vixmom and I saw Desperate Measures at the York and loved it. When it transferrewd off-Broadway, she and I saw it again with DR ChasSmith, DR Ginny, and Ginny's husband Richard. The original production was a hopot, so I hope this production you are seeing is good.
That was such a wonderful show and perfect cast. I was so sad when I heard that Peter Saide, who played the sheriff died from.complications after a surgery.
-
Hello, and thank you for all of your warm wishes.
Speaking of warm, I started radiation treatments last week.
They’re a breeze, compared to chemotherapy and surgery.
-
Watched the SAG Awards tonight, which were enjoyable for the most part.
The only political speech was made by Jane Fonda, as she picked up her Lifetime Achievement Award.
-
I was very pleased to see Kieran Culkin win again tonight. He has won every award so far this season, and will most certainly win an Oscar next Sunday night.
His performance in A REAL PAIN moved me deeply.
-
Wishing everyone a great week ahead!
-
Page six???
-
No George, who simply abandon the cause?
-
Not very sporting.
-
In fact, ridic.
-
How can it be?
-
Good to see you, Iris!
-
I don't think there's any way to get even to the page that shall not be named even though it was named.
-
Well, what can you do?
-
We can do it
-
Hand in hand
-
New notes are up.
-
As a team
-
Up are new notes.
-
Side by side
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
To 7 we ride
-
I wrote them.
-
Looks like we made it.
-
Or will you close it?
-
Thank goodness, Rodzinski showed up to save us.
-
Ah yes we achieved it
-
I'm sure George fell down some damn rabbit hole.

The Dynomite duo

I hope he didn’t get stuck

Desperate Measures one could say
