Well, you've read the notes, the notes were assembled, and now it is time for you to post until the assembled cows come home.

Condolences to vixmom's family.

George, thanks for linking that "So Long Farewell" spoof last night! Very funny.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another bad night of sleep, and I forgot to set the alarm. I was in bed between 8:30 and 8:45, then awake at 11:00, 1:30, then sometime after that when I got my feet tangled up in the bedclothes and had to get up and straighten out the mess.
The cats behaved.
-
I am not leaving the apartment today. When I finish kitty cleanup, I will vacuum before I return to my iTunes mess.

Big day of practicing ahead of me. The keyboard part I'm playing in The Little Mermaid is annoyingly tricky, and I'd best not dally. I played it several years ago and it's mostly quite familiar, but in a few spots it's like seeing the notes for the first time. Don't you hate when that happens?

My cousin Stanley passed away yesterday. He was 82 years old.
He was the son of our Uncle Jim Earles and Aunt Mary.....both gone. When they were first married the doctor said they couldn't have children, so they adopted Stan. A few years later cousin Arlene was born and few years after that cousin Steve was born.
We loved them all.
A few years ago, Stan met his birth family and he always wished he hadn't. He said all they do is call me to borrow money or my car and they come over and never leave. I imagine we will see a couple of them at his service.....if there is one. Nothing has been decided yet.

And if that's not sad enough, according to the article, "The couple was found dead, alongside their dog."
Just read about this.
Carbon monoxide poisoning was initially suspected, but there is an investigation ongoing, as there were pills scattered about. So sad.
-
The New York Post:
Authorities said the deaths were “suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation” after also finding an open pill bottle and pills were also found scattered around the room where Hackman’s wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, and the dog were discovered.
Meanwhile, Hackman’s body was located in a separate room, and there was “no obvious sign of a gas leak,” according to the report.

It is very sad. His wife was only 65.

My condolences on the loss of your cousin. His experience is why many adopted people fear meeting their biological family. I'm sure he truly appreciated that he was adopted.

They would have to investigage anyway. I suppose it matters what the pills were and who they were for. I suspect they will need to know if the one dog that died had pills in him.

Thanks. Now I wonder if the dead dog had swallowed some of the pills. I hope they determine what killed the dog.

-
So sorry for your loss, DR Jrand74. May his memory be a blessing.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I rode our light rail this morning to see where it ends. Back when they planned it all out so many years ago, the ending place was at Metrocenter Mall, which was thriving at that time, I guess.
-
Now it's in the process of being torn down.
-
We also lost a family member yesterday. My DH's niece, cousin to my kids. Glioblastoma.
-
Re the measles discussion yesterday: I wouldn't bother getting titers. I'd just get the vaccination.
-
Jane asked if I was vaccinated as a child.
I have no idea. I assume so. We got shots at school sometimes. I have no idea what they were for. I have no records.
-
Thanks everyone! Cremation and no services planned for Stanley.....maybe later.
-
I had to prove on paper to the school nurse, so the easiest thing to do was just the another shot.
-
Condolences DR LAURA.
-
JRand, so sorry about losing your cousin. Hugs to you.

What a tough job you will have ;)

Ushering for Itzhak Perlman tonight.
Lucky you.
-
Thanks. She was in hospice, so it was expected. But it was a shock when they told us last year what it was. Young people shouldn't die.

:( So sorry for your and your family's loss, Laura.
-
Now it's in the process of being torn down.
Will something nice go back up? I just looked it up and answered my own question. It sounds nice, and a good place for the rail stop.
-
Oh yes.....we got ALL the shots and vaccinations....and the Polio Vaccine was a big deal when I was in the first grade. We wanted it.....we knew it was for our protection.
My father had polio when he was growing up and he had a limp for his whole life, which I never really noticed. Once, when I was in the fifth grade, I was with him in the local IGA and saw a friend in my class and we spoke.
The next Monday at school, the friend asked me: "How long has your Dad been crippled?"
I was shocked because I never thought of him that way....he just had a limp.....it was an eye opener.
-

This is very sad. My condolences to you and your family.
-
Re the measles discussion yesterday: I wouldn't bother getting titers. I'd just get the vaccination.
If you had measles you likely wouldn't need to be vaccinated. Craig has issues with vaccinations so I think for him doing a titer would be good, not that I will be able to convince him to do so.
-
I remember getting the polio sugar cube. It was in the high school auditorium. I recognized the place when I was a freshman. There was a big tile mural on the front of the auditorium.
-
Jane asked if I was vaccinated as a child.
I have no idea. I assume so. We got shots at school sometimes. I have no idea what they were for. I have no records.
You probably were plus you got that second vaccination. I expect you are good for life.
-
I had to prove on paper to the school nurse, so the easiest thing to do was just the another shot.
Especially if you didn't have your childhood records.
-
Thanks. She was in hospice, so it was expected. But it was a shock when they told us last year what it was. Young people shouldn't die.
They should not :(
-
Oh yes.....we got ALL the shots and vaccinations....and the Polio Vaccine was a big deal when I was in the first grade. We wanted it.....we knew it was for our protection.
My father decided I could get my vaccinations with the rest of the kids at school instead of him giving them to me. It saved him from stabbing me or making me stand out from the rest of the kids ;D
-

I find it shocking that the kid thought a limp made your father a cripple. Fifth grade seems old enough to know the difference.

Well this will come as a shock to HHW - and to me.
Today at lunch, my cousin Carol asked me to come to her house tomorrow night to take part in a Euchre tournament......yes, an actual social engagement.
I have reluctantly accepted because she needed one more person to make two teams of four.
I am not sure if I know how to behave in a group of folks I don't know. Time will tell.

A copy of his book “It seemed like a bad idea at the time” was included in the price of admission

When I directed shows, I’d have this big thing beforehand where we uplifted all the cast and crew, we got together, said nice things, got the energy going… It was fun, but in my old age I think, probably some people needed to be alone with their thoughts. The little things you beat yourself up about in a land called Retrospect.

I’m up working. The April edition of American Cemetery & Cremation is not going to upload itself to design.
