Well, you've read the notes, the notes had big tech, and now it is time for you to post until the big tech cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GNOMIC!

Topic of the Day: I'm the one person in the family who has to assemble all the IKEA-type items. ::) I also have replaced light fixtures, door knobs, shelving units, etc.
:P
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Off to get plants.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was up too late finishing up File M for Murder, the third Cat in the stacks mystery. Once the mystery and the killer(s) are boiling up to a finish, I find it really hard to put the book down. This series also has me wanting a Maine coon cat, but that will never happen. Annabelle wants no competition ruling the apartment, and Stella and Thatch would go on strike.
-
So, I slept in. When I finally decided it was time to get up and feed the cats, Annabelle and Thatch were sleeping next to me.
-
DR singsaw, my best friend in undergraduate school was Jane Greenwood's costume assistant on 70 Girls 70. He was there the night David Burns died, and he has many stories about the show.
-
I am a complete incompetent when it comes to assembling anything. The instructions always seem to be in a language completely foreign to me, I've been fortunate to have many friends to rely on for such errands and I hope I've been generous in thanking them for their assistance. The current teacart is an assemblage disaster, but I cannot blame Jen, since it's clear this cart was designed to be stuck in a decorative corner with a plant or two on it and never to be wheeled about on its flimsy wheels.
-
The cart, after I've put it aside for the night, has turned into a Pullman sleeping car, with Thatch on the bottom tier and Annabelle on the top. Whenever I see them relaxing inside it, I think:
For a little silver quarter we can have the Pullman porter turn the lights down low . . .
-
Very enjoyable to read the good news about DRAT! THE CAT! rehearsals!
-
Jrand, so interesting about the price for the house across the street.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Two (2) Dolly!s today!
-
TOD:
It depends. I can do some things well, and other things moderately awful. I especially detest anything made in China that requires instructions to assemble because the English translation is decidedly imbecilic.
I can change light bulbs but not fluorescents.
Thank goodness I can cook and follow recipes.
I can also adjust the clocks in my car and truck when necessary.
I have always had a proclivity for hooking up electronic equipment for audio and video purposes.
And for some reason, i am able to simultaneously walk and chew gum, should it ever be necessary.
-
I must say that from the bits I can see, this Dolly! choreography looks properly stunning. Costumes, too. I dunno about the overall set design.
I think the worst thing visited upon high school musicals is PACING, which can be excruciating, along with the failure of directors in not identifying and insisting upon the correct EMPHASIS or RHYTHM in line delivery. These kids are solid, but for my sanity, this production suffers from these sins.
-
Yes DR FREDDIE & DR GEORGE I don't understand the selling price.
-
Like DR RON PULLIAM I can hook up most electronics.
I am inept when it comes to cars.
Sometimes I watch a YouTube video that will show what's wrong with something - but I am not always secure that I will be doing it right.
I do have to call a plumber next week for a problem.
-
We had terribly strong winds last night and lots of rain.....but everything seems fine.
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Have fun DR CHAS SMITH - don't forget to save a nickel to see the whale!
-
I’ll be doing good if I don’t forget to put the lid on the sheep dip.
-
We had terribly strong winds last night and lots of rain.....but everything seems fine.
Please stop that. You must have good weather. There will not be enough margaritas for me.
-
Back from the plant sale. Got a bougainvillea and a tiny rosemary. Just what I wanted.
-
Like Ron, I hate the imbecilic translations from Chinese to English by way of Serbo-Croatian.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five and a half hours of sleep - should have been seven but for another allergy thing.
-
I can’t do much, certainly not with the dexterity my dad displayed. But I can so simple plumbing work.
-
I can assemble things.
-
Two!
-
I can handle page turns with a deftness that some might envy.
-
Travel vibes, Laura. And good margaritas.
-
Oh by the way, I have made my peace with the Hello, Dolly! transpositions. It was the modulations that grated, having had the originals in my ears and bloodstream for nearly six decades. But I’m accustomed to these now, and life is beautiful.
-
Well, the first bit of good news today is that my IRS refund is approved and should land in my bank baccount by March 24. The cats iun particular are very happy.
-
Excellent. It’s too soon to check on mine, but that’s good to hear.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater.
-
DR LAURA just a bit of rain for today - so Indiana should be ready for you.

Even the orchestra is beautiful.
(oh wait, that's CABARET)
-
I’ve had to be handy here. Painted the outside of my house. Can now install light fixtures. Minor plumbing things. Just built a whole exercise machine in the garage. Still lots I can’t do.
-
One thing I cannot do is anything that involves folding.
-
I can assemble ikea stuff and the like quite easily

Was way outside my comfort zone last night. Went to a Rathskeller to hear a live band play. Was slightly acquainted with several of the band members. County/Bluegrass.
-
The 10:00PM set started at about 10:40PM.
-
I wasn't home until 1:00AM.
-
Needless to say, I had a slow and belated start this morning.

Thatch climbed up on my table for cuddles, and then the little rascal stole the cap to my water bottle and he's chasing it around the floor.

On the way to dance tonight, I witnessed a horrific accident. I think the car struck a car in front of him. What I saw was the car slamming into the cement barrier in the center of the highway. It then moved across all five lanes where it crashed into the cement barrier on the right, ran up the barrier, then landed right side up but in a 180 directional change, so it was facing oncoming traffic. The windshield exploded, showering glass everywhere. There was no place to pull over, but we called 911 and reported it. The person on the phone didn’t seem to understand the words I was saying, so I had to say everything three times. And then she asked if the driver need EMS. Well, duh.

It happened again.
I knew when I got up this morning that it was Saturday.
But, as the day went by and I began getting things done around the house, including laundry, I began thinking it was Thursday. I was looking at the TV schedule for the evening and was upset that my Thursday evening programs seemed to be missing.
Despite all evidence in the programming, I had to ask my Amazon Echo what day it is.
It all came rushing back, but for a while, I was living in a different time.

Hello, Rupert!
-
Good night, all.
-
I know I have had ice cream at the Farmers Market though I can't tell you where I purchased it.
Well, if you read Vegas Can Be Murder, the answer might just be within.
-
I tried hard to get us out by six, but it was seven. Still, not bad and an hour of that was lunch. The problem was that the lighting person readjusted all the front lights, which meant we had to rewrite everything we'd done previously (half of act one). So, had we not had to do that, I think we would have been out by six. Still, we got the show written and I think it will work fine. They still have to program two specials tomorrow and a probe.
-
I blocked the curtain call, keep it very simple.
-
I start with half the ensemble - one of my goals was to make every member of the ensemble have things to make them shine - so the first group is five people and each get a quickie separate bow, just stepping forward, bowing and back in line. Same thing with the second group, then a group of four, then two, then our two leads. I may change my mind - right now, the two leads come on together and he bows first and she bows last - but I just adore the lead gal and so I may give each of them a separate entrance.
-
The day began with a run-through that was pretty smooth, actually, then I spent ninety minutes working on scenes and acting stuff.
-
Then we had lunch.
-
I only had a bite of salad and a tiny piece of pepperoni pizza.
-
Then we began the cue to cue at three - it took about forty-five minutes to redo the stuff we'd done, then we did the rest of act one - it takes a while to actually write the cues as a bunch of scenes have light shifts. Then we went right on to act two.
-
Still to come, two specials and a strobe - Two Specials and a Strobe - that's the title of my next novel.
-
I wanted a bit more time tonight, but alas...
-
I'll sit on the couch like so much fish and just surf channels for a bit.
-
I do have to get to bed at a reasonable hour.
-
Terrifying accident, John G!

So, tonight I ushered for "Harmony Sweepstakes," the annual a Cappella competition hosted by the Masterworks Choral Ensemble. (https://mce.org/)
-
Here's the electronic program, if anyone is interested in finding out about the event:
https://mce.org/harmony2025/ (https://mce.org/harmony2025/)
-
All the groups were pretty good, but my two favorites were Puget Sound Company and Verdent.
-
The Pillage People have always been a fun group, and they won 3rd place.
-
The second place winners were Puget Sound Company, which kind of surprised me. I thought that they would be 1st.
-
But my vote for audience favorite, which did win audience favorite, and won first place was Verdant!
-
They both were really good, but I just "liked" Verdant a little better. :)
-
Evidently, the rest of the audience did too.
