Well, you've read the notes, the notes were unscathed, and now it is time for you to post until the unscathed cows come home.

And the word of the day is: NIMBLE!

Congratulations on the dress rehearsal going so well, BK!
-
Congrats on the modern major miracle, BK!
Yes, that's also great news that there was a modern major miracle!
-
GOOD news about the invited dress....and the MMM.
-
Since my computer is in the shop - I may not have much to say about anything for a couple of days....but I shall be in when I can. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Very poor night of sleep. Annabelle has a cold and she was blowing snot all opver the place. Thatch has a need - I'm not complaining - to be near me, but he has this penchant that, whenever I get up for a bathroom break or a glass of water, he moves to the spot where I was lying, so I have to move to a new sleeping position. Last night, Stella decided that she needed to sleep with me as well, so it was a crowded bed.
-
Social Security landed, so I have bills to pay this morning.
-
I am puzzled over the late arrival of the costumes, BK, but I am very happy the rehearsal went as well as it did.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Must go read today's Notes.
-
The Notes contained good news of two types. Huzzah!

I was wondering about this, too.
I think costumes (and wigs, when called for) just happen to be one of the things that, in my neck of the woods, always seem to be under control by a few very dedicated people in the region -- and they are usually ready for early fittings and adjustments. (I should knock wood and turn around three times and spit when I type that, right?)
-
Good morning, all.

Off to the pantry.

Better than pantying, I guess.

George, my Canadian mother in law is an old German woman so not really like that clip, but she does get insanely worried when we travel.

Here a bit o’ fun. Mrs Rodz’s car stinks.
Like garbage.
She keeps it immaculate, but it is kept outside and I did find evidence of rodent activity under the hood. Cleaned that out, changed cabin air filter, sprayed Lysol inside, took it to car wash, and … it still smells. Look up Audi AC smell on the web and this is a thing, apparently. Moisture around the condenser leading to bacteria. No real easy solution.

Vibes you all can tolerate the smell!

Jane, I find this part of Canada isn’t so heavily accented. There a few things they say differently like “pass-ta” instead of “pasta.” But nothing rubbing off on the kids.
They do have to learn/unlearn spellings like “favourite” and “colour” etc.

Slow day here.

DR Singdaw I'm sorry you won't be able to retire in the near future.

From DR John:
Yes. The Gatsby one. I already know the Facebook folks are corrupt.
I already feel guilty for continuing to use FB. If only something better became available, and we could transfer all of our history to it.
As for the Gatsby one, while it looks interesting I have no desire to read anything more about the Fitzgeralds.
-
From John:
The guard bird just alerted me to an intruder out back. Turned out to be a mother possum with five or six babies squirming around her back. Truly odd sight.
Cool :)
-
I had to pick up a prescription today. I never know what they’re going to cost. Well, it was whopping 4 cents. I have to enjoy that before the penny goes the way of Doris Day.

Bruce, the restaurant owned by Spielberg's mother was/is on Pico near Doheny, maybe half a block down from the Beverlywood Bakery.

Bruce, congrats on the modern major miracle.

That kind of deductible sounds very nice.

I can't wait for being on Medicare in 6 or 7 weeks. Hoping Medicare's not changed too much by then.

Listening to Ina. One of her childhood friends was named Jimmy, aka James Lapine.
Thanks for mentioning this.

DR Rodzinski I hope your in-laws are improving.

Interesting, and explains the mild accent of many people I know from Canada.

Wow. I have had free but never just a few pennies. I also have a prescription that went up to over $400 last time I picked it up. I'm hoping it had to do with the beginning of the new year and will drop. If not I'll have to find an alternative.

Have we ever noted the subject of this movie COYOTE VS. ACME, in which Wile E. Coyote (of Road Runner fame) sues the Acme corporation? (It's showing up in the news today because there's been some news about it being acquired from Warner Bros.)
The plot (from wikipedia) sounds intriguing, though the movie may be in distribution limbo.
"After every product made by the Acme Corporation has backfired on Wile E. Coyote in his pursuit of the Road Runner, a down-and-out billboard human attorney represents Wile E. in his lawsuit to sue Acme. A growing friendship between Wile E. Coyote and his lawyer motivates their determination to win the court case, as it pits them against the intimidating boss of Wile E.'s lawyer's former law firm, who now represents Acme"

BK, I loved that Outside the Box musical THE EXORCIST (starring Hal Linden) that you posted in the Hal Linden birthday thread on Facebook!

I've just been chatting on the FB page We Love Jewish Food. A map of the best deli in each state was shared. Cantor's was on it. Do you agree? Someone said not anymore and another person still thinks it is the best.
-
I might have eaten at Cantor's once, maybe twice.
-
I used to think Nate 'n Al's was the best and no longer think that.

Got some flounder fillets in the oven. And Greta Garbo on the TV. A little white wine in a glass. Ready for evening.

Spent 90 minutes or so pruning trees. Felt good. I did have a mask on, as the osk pollen is heavy. I still sneezed once.

I hope you feel fine tonight.

From an article on Clint Eastwood’s live for His Girl Friday:
The most famous and distinct aspect of His Girl Friday is the speed of the dialogue. Walter and Hildy bicker at the speed of light, lobbing razor-sharp insults back and forth with a precision that most of us – divorced or otherwise – could only dream of. “Carrie Grant I was a tremendous fan of,” Eastwood said. “He was another one of those guys that was a very distinctive personality on the screen – probably never got as much credit as he deserved. But he was one of the kings of doing that sort of thing… because he had such brilliant timing.”
Carrie? Seriously?
-
Waiting for the too-serious Conquest to end. Greta Garbo and Charles Boyer are excellent, but the script is dreadful.
-
Carry me back to ole' Carrie Grant.
-
Why tarry with Dirty Harry when you can marry Carrie?
-
Good night, friends.

And others.

George, my Canadian mother in law is an old German woman so not really like that clip, but she does get insanely worried when we travel.
Did she always worry as much before you moved close by?
Yes. We thought being close by would make it better.
-
Started September 5. Tight and taut. Really good.
-
DR Rodzinski I hope your in-laws are improving.
Thank you. MIL made it back “home” this evening, but I’m not sure she won’t fall again.
-
Vibes for the Rodz MIL.
-
George, how’s your mom?
-
The reviews for Buena Vista Social Club are largely good, a few are even ecstatic.
-
Hope DR Iris is doing okay. Vibes and hugs.
-
We’re not moving forward very quickly tonight.
-
Are we?
-
Really liked September 5. Very different movie from Munich. May go back and watch thst again.
-
But 13 movies on reserve are coming in now at the library. So, i have plenty to watch.
-
And I have those last Billy Wilder movies to watch.
-
Five!
-
Hope all is going well for BK and company and the costumes.
-
Almost forgot my eye drops.
-
Good night, all.
-
George, how’s your mom?
She's pretty much recovered, for the most part.
-
In general, she's slowing down, but I think that that's just from natural aging, so as far as the surgery is concerned, she's doing really well.
-
DR Vixmom does your DH have an accent?
I have no idea what a DH is LOL.
my SIL and her first husband had British midland accents and their eldest daughter picked that up , she is her 40’s now, and it’s less pronounced but still vaguely British .
My nephew sounds more Canadian, but could easily be mistaken for a Midwestern American ,
My nieces three kids sound like their uncle and their Dad who comes from Saschatchawan
-
DH = Dear Husband. :)
-
DH = Dear Husband. :)
Oh, he’s British, well now he’s a US citizen but he came over as 30 year old , so yes, he still has a midlands British accent
-
The reason we have Canadian relatives is because my SIL married an Irishman ( albeit raised in England) and they moved to Canada where they had their children.
-
So, I have just started chapter three of BK's latest tome, Vegas Can Be Murder (http://kritzerland.com/vegas.htm):

:D
-
I'm now in chapter 4, and when Harry listens the recording of Die tote Stadt, I looked it up and it's not only still available, there is an SACD Hybrid Multi-channel release from Dutton Vocalion:

So, tomorrow is my Aunt Marylou's 90th birthday!
-
She was the older of my dad's two sisters.
-
There were six kids, my dad being (I think) third after Aunt Marylou.
-
She's actually the only one left. :-\
-
Here are my dad, his sister (my aunt) Marylou, and their younger sister (also my aunt) Sr. Cecelia (the nun):
-
I think that this was the last picture of them together.
-
Aunt Marylou now lives in southern Oregon with her daughter and granddaughter, and her granddaughter's husband.
-
They have animals on their property!
-
Here's are some random pictures:
-
And:
-
And:
-
And as you can see from that picture and this one:
-
Um, page FIVE???

Not very sporting.
-
...their property floods. ::)

REALLY not very sporting.

In fact, nauseating.

Horrifying.

Nauseatingly nauseating.
-
A pox upon page six.

Having some clam chowder from BJ's.

In the meantime, we're on page six.
-
I'm enjoying Vegas Can Be Murder. :)
-
And we're not gonna get beyond it.
-
Clearly.
-
No way, Jose.
-
In fact, I BLAME Jose.
-
Ridic.
-
Bordering on unacceptable.
-
Truly.
-
Well, what can you do.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I'm also reading Tiamat's Wrath, book 8 of The Expanse series, so I'll read a bit of each and go back and forth.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Hang tight.
-
In fact, I BLAME Jose.
Why not be different and put the blame on Mame? ;)
