Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a WOW, and now it is time for you to post until the WOW cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INSTILL!
-
Wonderful pictures, BK, and congrats on a wonderful second night!
-
And let me say that this is real:

I really did get the word in two guesses!
Who'da thunk it??
-
Wonderful pictures, BK, and congrats on a wonderful second night!
Ditto to the congrats!
-
And I loved the DRAT! THE CAT! review and the photos in the Notes, too!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
George, it was such fun reading about your gathering with your friends from high school!
-
It's got to be hard losing a chorus member at the last minute. Glad it all worked out.

Breakfast cuteness:
Awwwww!
-
Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hopping down the bunny trail...
-
BK is writing a 2nd book this year?
-
Say what?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept in. It got very chilly last night, and sometime around 5:00 my warm bed became very tempting to all the cats who crowded in to sleep off the chill. The alarm rang at 6:00, and I turned it off and wnet back to sleep for another hour.
-
That is one very positive and this-should-sell-tickets review. And I loved the photos!
-
I have no plans today. I hope I can find one of the nice young men in Apt. 1E to help me drag two cartons of litter up to the third floor.
-
Welcome to Paris, DR Rodzinski. Have a fantastic time.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Elmore, to answer your question yesterday, the two women in the Globe cast were unknown to me and were the best members of the cast.
-
Sunday.
Congrats to MR BK & Co.
Have a great matinee.
-
I need to stir soon.
-
Yoga in the vineyard today.
-
The day seems like it’s going to be a good one.
-
Only 75 by noon up in Driftwood.
-
I don’t do yoga.
-
Onward.
-
Two!
-
Congratulations on your show and that review, Bruce.
It's great when a good show gets new life.
Kudos to all involved.
-
Sunday, Sunday...
Ah, me. And the month is whizzing by so quickly. Whatever happened to February?
April is just around the corner; but first, I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning.
Yikes. It's like real life is ruling my roost.
-
Today is Zoom chat day.
We never know where our discussions will take us.
It's enjoyable, nonetheless.
-
Good morning!

Wow! That's great, DR George!
-
I was lucky to catch one of the young men in 1E who act as supers for the building and he carried the two 30 lb cartons of litter up to my apartment. It's such a ewlief to have that out of the way.
-
I need to make the bed and give my legs a rest.
-
Elmore, to answer your question yesterday, the two women in the Globe cast were unknown to me and were the best members of the cast.
DR JohnG, if this was the video you watched, the Countess was played by Janie Dee, who played Phyllis in the last National Theatre productiion of Follies. In 2021, when I thought we had the funding to record Jubilee, I asked her to play the Queen; Kim Criswell recommended her.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's been a slow one for me, as I sniffle my way through sort-of-a-cold.
-
In 2021, when I thought we had the funding to record Jubilee, I asked her to play the Queen; Kim Criswell recommended her.
That's too bad that recording didn't happen.
-
Well, halleliujah!
I finally found in the iTunes mess BK's recording of Drat! The Cat! and at the moment I'm dancing with Alice.
-
Good news DR ELMORE!
-
It is 38 degrees and raining.....rain predicted for all day!
-
From DR John:
Sad story. Van Dyke was supposedly a Christian Scientist. He had both cancer and heart problems, but, rather than seek treatment, he committed suicide.
This is very sad. My father felt terrible for a patient of his, a Christian Scientist who felt betrayed by her religion after getting cancer. He spent many extra hours helping her emotionally cope with this and felt very bad for her.
-
DR George, your mini reunion lasted a long time-nice :)
-
George, it was such fun reading about your gathering with your friends from high school!

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.

Happy 7th birthday Lil Rodzette!

DR George, your mini reunion lasted a long time-nice :)
Thanks, Jane...and actually, that wasn't the longest (for me, it was, though). One dinner where I had to leave early, they stayed at the restaurant (we go to a different place each time) past midnight! :o

"I Wanna Be a Rockette" - Karen Ziemba and the Rocketttes

That was it. I recognized Janie Dee, but I could not place the name. And it was obliterated on the cover by the library logo stamped over it.
-
Happy birthday, Rodzette!
-
Top security. :)
-
It is a gloomy day here, weather-wise.
-
Tut, tut. It looks like rain.
-
~~~AUDIENCE AND TALKBACK VIBES~~~ for BK and Company this afternoon!
-
Top security. :)
LOL!
-
And take that lusty velvet with you, too.
-
I just read this NY Times article on LOVE LIFE; Brian Stokes Mitchell, to my knowledge, us not appearing in this production. Do I suspect this article, and its photos, was originally written for the 2020 production that folded with the pandemic?
-
And take that lusty velvet with you, too.
Wonderful!
It's great that you are all having a good time together. LOL, I never imagined you were only talking about the good old days.
-
Happy Birthday to Rodzette!
-
Mitchell is appearing in Love Life. A replacement after the original dropped out.
Strange musical number in the middle of The Prizefighter and the Lady.
-
And take that lusty velvet with you, too.
Love it.
-
LOL DR singdaw....indeed.
-
DR JOHN G I loved that musical number - I only saw that movie once and I guess I didn't stick with it long enough to see that.
Too bad Jethro's father didn't do the number in his boxing trunks.....but it was a lot of fun....staged by Seymour Felix, I assume.......
According to imdb, you assume correctly
"Drat the Cat" was very fun! Sorry, we always leave in a hurry. We have two dogs at home and one of them refuses to use the pet door. :-) The songs were all very catchy and there were some laugh-out-loud moments. We enjoyed it a lot!
-
Hi DR Amy. It is great to see you, and as always, I enjoyed your report on the show.
-
Funny, kind of, about the pet door. Growing up we had a pet door. I never needed a key as I could slide through it, until I was 18. Having large dogs we never had one as I remembered how easy it was for me to slip through the smaller doors ;D
-
Thanks to DR AMY for the on the spot repor!
-
Of course since my play is now being sent to NYC I will certainly model my Tony Award acceptance speech after this AA acceptance speech.
I find it amazing that at the age of 88 the Pope has survived double pneumonia and is now home.
-
He isn't completely healed and will have to rest and stay home. I hope he fully recovers as I like this pope.
Same as Keith.
Back from a fun matinee - almost full house, good audience and a fun talkback afterwards.
-
The only issue was a key light that was out - I told the PSM that he should always do a light check pre-show, just in case. So, we had a dark spot where, unfortunately, a good amount of stuff takes place - it wasn't horrible but...
Good news on the matinee, except for the light.
-
Good to see Amy back. Thanks for the repor.
-
Watching Sing Sing. I love this movie. I love Colman Domingo.
-
All of us theeder geeks should watch it.
-
Good night, friends.
And others.
Thanks for posting this! I can't wait to see this next week.
-
Women's Club Blues, the first song in the video, is one of so many numbers that I don't think has ever been recorded before the two revivals this year.
-
Looking at the list on the back wall, and cross-checking with the David Drew's list of scenes in the Kurt Weill Handbook, it looks like somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of the show hasn't been recorded in excerpts elsewhere.
-
Do any of our New Yorkers know where that rehearsal space is? Is it a rehearsal room at City Center or somewhere else?
-
Elmore should know.
-
Sing Sing coaxed the most emotional response of any of the best picture nominees I have seen so far.
-
It felt like the best of the independent movies I watched when I was a kid, the kind where the camera was often a character picking up the best that was going on around it. Not grainy, just observant.
-
I'm so close to my new millstone
-
that I wonder whether I should get there tonight
-
and hope that someone will memorialize it.
Thanks if someone would capture this!
-
Congratulations, Freddie.
Thunderstorms are rolling in.
Rain is falling.
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I wanted to watch something this evening but didn't.
-
Listening to some Beethoven thing I've never heard of.
-
Had faux chicken stroganoff for food.
-
It was good.
-
Not great.
-
Don't know why.
-
Otherwise, I've just been relaxing.
-
Doing not much of anything.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Get this page off me.
-
Several reviewers with us today.
-
One yesterday.
-
The Beethoven thing is called Christ on the Mount of Olives.
-
That reminds me of the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Pitted Olive.
-
On a clear day you can see page six.
-
But when?
-
Clearly not now.
-
Maybe soon.
-
Ridic.
-
Not very sporting.
-
Sporting it ain't.
-
But there's nobody here but us chickens.
-
What am I, doing a monologue?
-
Enter page six!
-
It's about time.
-
The only issue was a key light that was out - I told the PSM that he should always do a light check pre-show, just in case. So, we had a dark spot where, unfortunately, a good amount of stuff takes place - it wasn't horrible but...
I try to remember (a The Fantasticks reference ;) ) to run my cues before each show.
-
There have been a few (fortunately, only a few) times where something went wrong while testing and that gave me the time to fix it. :-\
-
Back from a fun matinee - almost full house, good audience and a fun talkback afterwards.
Very good news, BK.
Happy birthday to little Rodzinski.
Listening to a stereo spectacular - Ormandy doing orchestral show pieces like Ritual Fire Dance.
-
It's fun.
Must try and be in bed by one.
New notes are up.
Up are new notes.
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
