Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the eye of the beholder, and now it is time for you to post until the beholden cows come home.

So, last night, I went to a rehearsal for TAO's The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!! It's rough ::) but it'll get where it need to be. The drive home was very much like BK's drive to his eye appointment...it took about a half hour longer than usual. The two left lanes were closed for about 10 miles, so everyone had to squeeze down to one lane. But we all got through it.
-
I won't go back until Thursday when I help get stuff out of the storage unit to bring to the theater, then I'll probably be back for Sunday's tech day and the beginning of Hell Week! Then, we open the next Friday!
-
Good morning, all!
-
The cats and I arenup early because I have guests coming to visit today. I want to get kitty cleanup finished earlier than usual and deal with the basement and mail before I finbish tidying up the apartment.
-
I slept well. Little Thatch stayed with me all night. I had a strange dream involving a performing edition of Babes in Toyland, my Aunt Lois' farm in Columbus Ohio, a warehouse, a gay high school couple, former friend Tommy Krasker, British actor Michael Gambon, and a lot of farmland. It was very strange.
-
DR Rodzinski, the Parisian treats sound tasty. Are you eating other wonderful things like coq au vin as well?
-
Notes taken. Accepted.
-
Not yet that Dear Elmore. I did have chicken a l’orange on a bus tour where they serve you on the bus. And beef bourginion.

Today… we head to Versailles.

Very good development in your eye appointment yesterday, BK! The idea of going in expecting to schedule surgery and finding out surgery might not even be necessary - exciting and so encouraging!
-
Well, today’s another big one, in that I must schlep the equipment to another venue and set up in another pit situation. This will be a first for me, playing at a middle school. The show is SpongeBob which seems to be in very heavy circulation this season, and this school is in a very well-to-do area that can well afford to hire all of these musicians for the kiddies. We shall see how it goes, and I look forward to playing with a few people I haven’t seen in a while.
-
I saw this most enjoyable clip from a TV movie from 1983 called "Dixie, Changing Habits" which starred Suzanne Pleshette and Cloris Leachman, and our friend Maureen Silliman [with whom BK has worked] did this rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" during the movie.

Page Two.

I think the doctor's diagnosis for MR BK is most encouraging. And it is very nice that he is looking at alternatives to surgery.
Certainly MR BK following instructions is most important to getting a good result.
It's always nice when things come together - healthwise.

In case you haven't been on FACEBOOK this morning, Elon Musk has discovered a CURE for diabetes - but I would recommend NOT clicking on the learn more button. It might even more toxic than diabetes itself. :P

Good morning! We're at the gate for our flight to New York.

DR Singdaw sending good vibes your day goes well.
-
Good news about the eye appointment! Any chance to avoid surgery that your doctor recommends is a chance worth taking.
-
DR George, Keith would like those macaroons at Costco. Not that we plan to purchase them. Once in awhile I bake almond macaroons. He likes those as well.

From John:
Starting the latest season of All Creatures Great and Small.

It did not work - so I called a professional! They will be here tomorrow morning.
I think I have more confidence in them.

What a terrific show, with great work from Larry - and such a fun HHW gathering!
IIRC, Ginny and Richard were there at the show that afternoon, too, and to greet Larry afterwards.
We were there, indeed! We had another commitment that evening up by Lincoln Center and left right after greeting DR Elmore after the talkback.
-
BK, since you asked, I’d say, “Trust your doctor.” You may remember that my DH Richard had a bout with double vision that eventually resolved. Yes, it takes time, but it sounds like you’re making progress. Hang in there!

Any writers here feel like doing some theeder money fantasizing? :)
In the insane world of the trending "huge box office names doing star vehicles at impossible-to-fathom prices for limited runs," Broadway grosses can now be as high as $3.3-million a week; and let's say an agent could negotiate a 5% of gross take for a writer, that could be a princely sum of a weekly royalty.
"George Clooney Play Breaks a Broadway Box Office Record"
'Good Night, and Good Luck' grossed $3.3 million last week, breaking a record that was set earlier this month by Denzel Washington’s 'Othello.'"

I wonder what that writer of OTHELLO is doing with his weekly royalty.

I am back from Indiana, which was cold, gray, and rainy.
-
It is 95 in Phoenix currently.
-
We packed our stuff in carry-on bags -- one was an old rolling computer bag I never use any more. Plus my backpack and a couple of sling backpacks.
-
They pushed people to gate-check the bags, so we checked the roller bag. Saved us $40 each way.
-
We had (sorta) argued about checking a bag. When I pointed out it would be $40 each way, he agreed to pack lighter.
-
I have not caught up.

Oh, Ginny! I was so sorry to read your news. Hugs.

The Palace of Versailles was most excellent. We had started the day with a lunch at a cafe that is all pink, its interior filled with pink flowers, each table dedicated to a famed romantic pair. Ours was Edith Piaf and Jacques Pills. Anyway then we took a cab out to the palace and nearly missed our tour. But we caught up and enjoyed the apartments of the palace, the hall of mirrors, the gardens, then a nice ride back to our spot in the city.
-
Our tour guide was a most enlightening and amusing fellow.

Hey, you never know - even commercial off-Broadway is going fo $400 or $500 a ticket if there are stars!

Sorry about the weather. I hope good memories offered some comfort to everyone.

For short trips (even up to two weeks) we don't check a bag. It is harder when you need to wear nice clothes or have to pack heavier, warmer clothes.
