Well, you've read the notes, the notes talked back, and now it is time for you to post until the talking back cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ELUCIDATE!

Today, I have the paper tech for The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!! at 11:00 am. I'll also (finally) find out the rehearsal schedule for this week since we open on Friday! And I'll also find out if there's a rehearsal tonight or not. I've reserved a rental truck for tomorrow so that we can move sets and stuff up to the theater. That'll be an adventure!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Up in the middle of the night, and up this morning way too early.
-
But sometimes, that's the way the cookie crumbles.
-
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ today for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!
-
I just might try to go back to bed.
-
Notes absorbed. Scoured.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Welcome home, DR Rodzinski!
-
The cats had their tuna for breakfast, and I am experimenting with toast, butter, and jams and preserves. I grew up with Smuckers, and I still occasionally buy them from Amazon, but I'm now partial to Bonne Maman preserves. Here's the rub: Amazon does not carry all of their product. I had to do a Fairway order this week, and I discovered they carry Bonne Maman Peach Preserves - so much better than Smuckers! - which Amazon does not.
-
Last night I made a half-hearted and barely standing attempt to find that Love Life vocal score and failed. Today, while I have the energy to clean out the area around the shelves, I will have another look. John Baxindine, who's credited with the new vocal score, is a friend, but I still suspect[ect that Christine Ambrose and John McGlinn had a great deal to do with the pre-production of this newly-published vocal score.
-
Those shelves are hard to access because of the four large Fed Ex cartons containing all the scores and sketches for the ballet, along with other storage boxes, and I need to move things like my old iMac around to get really close to the shelves.
I always thought that my career would move me to a higher income plateau where I could actually afford a one- or two-bedroom apartment instead of this studio. It seemed large in June 1980, and now it's like five pounds of sausage in a one-pound bag.
-
I liked Die Hard and Die Hard 2; I never saw the other sequel(s?). I think I may have liked Die Hard 2 more, but if you've a fear of flying, this is not your movie.
-
Good morning, all.
Well I was not the murderer OR the victim last night.
And I gave all of my money away.
BUT I did win best costume male - and my sister Paula won best costume female - and sister Molly won Best Actress.
Good morning, all.
-
Got to sleep in late this morning, and boy did I need it.
-
A day of grace and rest. And boy do I need that, too.
-
I am out of Bikini Bottom! The show was truly a success. It will be most interesting seeing what the next school does with it, and that's only a month away.
-
Had a sweet dream. I was gardening in the backyard. A tiny kitten scrambled over the face and climbed up on me wanting some loving.
Annabelle, Thatch and Stella scramble over my face daily, too!
-
DR Jrand74 is rolling in dough!
-
DR ChasSmith, wow! I thought for a moment that you were in an underwear crisis with no bikini bottoms.
-
I had INSANE dreams, which always happens with extra sleep, but this was the first FLYING dream in a long time. The kind where you can actually, in certain circumstances, get kind of a running start and actually fly. You know, without an airplane. But then this dream went in even more bizarre directions, including dinosaurs and theeder conflicts, and when I finally woke up I jumped out of bed so as not to fall back into any of it.
-
DR ChasSmith, wow! I thought for a moment that you were in an underwear crisis with no bikini bottoms.
Ha! Yes! And that would be truly scary!
-
DR Elmore, if I had so much as a free moment, I would be more than happy to come down and help you dig out that vocal score.
-
omg. More coffee!!
-
DR Elmore, if I had so much as a free moment, I would be more than happy to come down and help you dig out that vocal score.
I keep thinking, Did I lend it to someone? I'm about to tackle the back storage space.
We had the good fortune to see Richard Chamberlain on stage in Cyrano de Bergerac. He was great. I forget which theater in LA he was performing. My parents had season tickets and gave them to us.
Keith guessed that we saw Cyrano at the Ahmanson. I looked it up, and yes we saw it there in 1973.
Keith has done Wordle early today.
He also got it in three.
I wonder if we can get to page 3 before 1:00 (Eastern)
It might be cutting it close
But maybe, just maybe
Stranger things have happened
Well, it's page 3 before 1:01 pm (Eastern), but close enough
-
We aren't leaving until 11:00 and I am basically ready. I want to read but I don't want to use up the battery on my tablet. I might have to anyway ;D
-
I'm ready early as I got up an hour earlier than planned to avoid the migraine that was starting.
It is better to be bored than to have a migraine ;)
Congrats, Jrand, and to Molly, too! Great costume and picture!
-
Well, I couldn't get to the shelves. Annabelle is sleeping back there and I will not disturb her.
-
I'll try again tomorrow. I stayed too long in my iTunes mess.
-
Has MichaelG checked in that he's home safe and sound?
Thanks for asking, DR Freddie! If I didn't yesterday, I will now - we're back home safe and sound. The flight was uneventful and arrived early. JetBlue's free wifi service is better than other airlines' paid wifi.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Must shave now, then shower.
Travel vibes to DR Jane and DH Keith.
-
Glad to hear that DR MICHAELG is back home.
Matinee vibes for bk!
-
Thanks for the great comments on the photo.
It was a great theme party that I certainly would not have the patience or space to host. Thanks to my nephew Zane and his wife Casey and daughter Addison who made it happen!
Met some great folks and reunited with some former folks.....so all is well.
-
I am most excited about sister Molly winning Best Actress......she is so funny and was "on" for the three hours of the gathering.
Welcome home. I enjoyed reading about your trip. Keith uses wifi on planes. I never get it or me.
-
Travel vibes to DR Jane and DH Keith.
Thank you.
-
I have two books that I am half way through reading (stopped the first one to read the second book, Nobody's Fool by Coben, that I was first in the queue for and there are people waiting to read it). Plus I have four full books to read. I don't need wifi :)
-
I rarely pay for airplane wifi - whenever I do, it rarely works well. But since it was free, I thought why not? Usually I just watch movies, read books, or sleep.
-
I like reading reviews of movies after seeing them, so it was fun to read up on Die Hard and Conclave after watching them (Conclave was on the flight out to New York).
-
I'm thinking I saw Die Hard at Century City, just a couple of blocks from the then-new "Nakatomi Plaza" (Fox Plaza), but I haven't checked that memory. I'll have to look it up.
-
I never saw any of the sequels, even after being assured that the second film is pretty damned good, too. I look forward to rectifying that eventually.
-
Great photo, DR Jrand74! Thanks for sharing.
-
RE: the Queen tribute band. I figure it would be pretty hard to field a voice that could match Freddie Mercury's.
-
We watched the first episode of Mid-Century Modern (on Hulu).
Overall, kind of forced. But there were some funny moments. I always enjoy Nathan Lane. And Linda Lavin is reason enough to watch.
When I was a kid in Indiana, it was big news when my mom’s friend ran into Richard Chamberlain at a bookstore while on vacation in San Francisco.
-
Around that time, The Thornbirds was a big deal.
-
Bruce Glover, father of Crispin, and Diamonds Are Forever’s Mr. Witt, also announced to have died on 3/12.
Travel vibes to DR Jane and DH Keith.
Who left DR John G. unsupervised again?
Indeed.
Had lunch with my publisher. We’d not met before. Nice man.
Gratuitous post 101!
Sad to hear about both Chamberlain and Glover.
Mr. Witt! Yes! Now and forever (both diamonds and cats)!
-
Back from BJ's (gas $2.83 - what's it been for a while), the food store, and the likker store.
Now for a relaxing evening.
-
Forgot to mention that on the drive up to St. Cloud yesterday, we saw a fairly sizeable protest outside a Tesla dealership just off the highway.
-
the likker store.
Yup. Jared the lead can sing high. He's good, but no one can sing like Freddy Mercury.
Forgot to mention that on the drive up to St. Cloud yesterday, we saw a fairly sizeable protest outside a Tesla dealership just off the highway.
Yay!
-
Five!
-
Back from dance. Exhausted.
-
I haven’t watched a movie in days.
-
Maybe tonight.
-
We got an inch of snow this afternoon.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Back from our matinee, talkback, and then a meal.
-
Matinee was completely sold out, so I had to stand.
-
A great, great audience and I'd spoken to the cast pre-show and told them to be careful about stepping on laughs. They were, and they got laugh after laugh because of it. Show played beautifully and the audience loved it.
-
The only thing wrong was when our leading lady's mic went out late in act two - apparently a battery got dislodged - how is anyone's guess - but she had to be sans mic for her big solo - she's a pro and projected, but it's her big moment and I was pretty upset about it because commons sense would dictate that a replacement mic and pack should always be there for an emergency. She has a costume change before her next scene and if they'd had it ready and had texted our backstage workers to have it standing by, they could have swapped it out. But no one thinks of these scenarios - but from here on in that is exactly what we're going to do.
-
Great applause at the end.
-
Lots stayed for the talkback so that was really fun. I spoke quite a bit and was, I suppose, feeling my oats, laughs-wise, so I was getting quite a few big ones. Lots of wonderful comments about my staging and Doug mentioned that I'd done most of the numbers, so that was nice. I spent lots of time complementing the cast.
-
We had a sub on trumpet, and like the sub reed player, I like her better than the real guy.
-
Then our musical director has thrown us a real bonafide curve ball, saying he has to miss the Friday show in two weeks. Say what? Never part of the deal and I certainly wouldn't trust a sub to come in and attempt to play this score cold. He swears he'll work with whomever it is but I'm not thrilled by the idea.
-
But the fact is, he can't find a sub and he's called about twelve people in. Perhaps ChasSmith would like to fly in and do it.
-
Or occasional dear reader Matthew.
-
He's begging Doug to cancel the show and add a performance, but they're not set up to do that, to add, and they absolutely cannot cancel as they've already sold over a thousand bucks in tickets for that week.
-
Crazy.
-
I didn't care for the restaurant we went to for various reasons.
-
But I'll say more in the notes.
-
We got an inch of snow this afternoon.
My deepest condolences
-
I'm exhausted.
-
Perhaps I'll sit on my couch and see if there's anything to watch.
-
What a nightmare about your music director, BK. Highly unprofessional.
-
I am watching a movie, a Japanese flick from Japan called Evil Does Not Exist. It's about a small community up in arms over a plan to bring a glamping site into their pristine area.
-
It's from the director of Drive My Car, which I loved. His name is Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
-
Let's dump this page.
-
Six is waiting.
-
In one ...
-
Six!
-
My tablet is acting funky.
-
Time to call it a day.
-
Good night, all
Trying to get up the energy to write some notes. I just had a cube steak, just to get rid of the flatbread taste. But nothing is tasting good to me today. My tummy feels weird, allergies are flaring up again - bleccch.
-
Guess I'll take another Claritin-D.
-
Haven't watched anything a but one irritating YouTube video.
-
George just disappeared?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Just up and left.
-
Page six is rather nauseating.
In the scheme of things.
-
I'm a little nauseous myself.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
Surely we can get off this damn page?
We really must.
Oh dear.
Oh dear, oh dear.
Some page must be waiting in the wings.
See?
