Well, you've read the notes, the notes sold out, and now it is time for you to post until the sold out cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ELUCUBRATE!
-
Welcome, 505 GUESTS!
-
And a very happy birthday to once upon a time dear reader Ann.
-
Our flight to Amsterdam was good.
-
After going through the long passport line we walked 20 minutes to the gate for our connecting flight only to find that the gate had been changed.
-
It was another long walk to the new gate.
-
We should be boarding in about 15 minutes for our flight to Barcelona.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN 🎁🎂💐

Vibes for BK's two important envelopes to arrive today!

Wonderful to hear the good news from DRAT! THE CAT! like the sold out house, getting all the laughs, the great reaction to the show and the excellent talkback.
Sorry to hear about the leading lady's microphone before her last song, but so great that she was able to project to make up for that.
And how strange about the music director's news about needing to miss a performance.

Yay! Sounds like that's how travel should be
(except for the gate change in Amsterdam, that is).
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well. So did the cats.
-
BK, why can't the musical director get a sub for his surprise Friday commitment?
-
Last night I caught by sheer chance a documentary on the late great Jacqueline du Pré that left me sobbing like a baby by its conclusion.
There were numerous clips of the famous "Trout" Quintet film from 1969, and I am happy to see the entire film is on YouTube:

-
Good morning, all.
-
That’s shocking, the music director thing. It would be unimaginable in these parts.
But also, twelve people? Yes, that’s discouraging. But those are the people he already knew to ask. In LA the pool must number in the hundreds…or who even knows. A lousy situation, though.
-
I’m up early to meet Kristi at her car place and drive her to work. Later, gators.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I really enjoyed the du Pré documentary, as well.
-
Good morning to everyone

After 135 years a candy i grew up with as a child in Canada has been discontinued.The Cherry Blossom. It was originally produced about an hour away from Montreal where I lived .

Hi Fred!
-
I ate a few Chuckles back in the day.
-
Aren't they just gumdrops, really?

~~~IMPORTANT ENVELOPE VIBES~~~ for BK!!!
Here's 22 minutes from the 1987 University of Michigan production of Love Life.
I liked Chuckles, but I didn't like the licorice one so I gave it away.
-
I gave it away.
That's what I heard. ;)
-
Thanks for sharing that video, DR elmore3003!
-
Thank you for that link, DR Elmore. Will watch later.
-
Good morning.
-
This turned up on Facebook yesterday, to my surprise.
In spring 1987, the New York City Gay Men's Chorus did a movie concert, hosted by my late great friend Vito Russo, author of The Celluloid Closet. The Jerry Herman song from A Day in Hollywood, A Night in the Ukraine was the opening number.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got some decent sleep. Weird dreams about running restaurants or wineries that were all together and sloppily managed,and the operators were all wondering why they weren't good enough to be part of my book. One eatery only boiled water, crushed up seaweed sheets to make a weak broth and then added noodles.
-
I have a massive study guide to the first 12 chapters of Judges that I have been slowly going through. I just checked on a volume 2. It’s coming out later this year for $85 a copy. Not in my price range. This volume is priced at $75. How did I afford that?
-
I'm up, I'm up - three hours of sleep and having a horrible allergy attack. These 12-hour Claritin-Ds don't work as well as the 24-hour.
-
Nose will not stop running and all other allergy symptoms are at peak levels.
-
BK, why can't the musical director get a sub for his surprise Friday commitment?
And how did he not have one already lined up before he even considered bailing on you?
-
BTW, DR Rodzinski, yesterday we both misidentified Bruce Glover's wonderful character in Diamonds Are Forever.
He was Mr. Wint, not Mr. Witt.
Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd. An unforgettable pair.
Well, the manuscript Love Life vocal score is not where it should be. So, was I looking at it and left it somewhere in the apartment some tie ago or did I lend it out and never got it back? Damnation!
-
Page 3 Dance!
-
John thanks for the travel vibes.
What is it, fish?
:) That actually looks tasty. I'll have that with some cottage cheese, please!
-
MD is trying to get a sub but can't find anyone. But the real issue is his score - it's got his scribbles in it and I don't think anyone will be able to decipher it much, plus he also has to cue the drummer for a lot of stuff and no sub will know that. This is NOT the show OR cast to do this to. It would be one thing if the score had been properly printed rather than being what it is - but it never ran long enough for that to happen. So, it's very hard to read and I cannot see a sub walking in and just doing it out of the blue. That's a recipe for disaster. It's not like a reed or trumpet sub - those parts are properly printed and easy to read because they were created for the recording.
-
Pill has kinda sorta kicked in but not completely. This is the worst I've had in ages.
I used to have one of DR Ginny's work; I have no idea where it is now. Probably with my Love Life score.
-
BK, you mentioned that Doug said there's $1,000 of tickets sold for that week, but isn't the real question how much is actually already sold for that one performance? And would those buyers really not accept an exchange for anther night?
Did your MD do the last big tour of The King & I or am I thinking it was someone else?
-
Hi it was a busy weekend and lunch , so I guess I'll catch up later
-
Pill vibes for BK.
At Costco. Gas was $2.49.
Now waiting for an ice cream.
Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd. An unforgettable pair.
Indeed that’s right!
-
It's 39 degrees here and down to 30 degrees tonight.
-
The day has flown by with little accomplished.
-
The library was closed for Cesar Chavez Day.
-
The library was closed for Cesar Chavez Day.
Cool! ;D
-
I am watching Below Deck Down Under - the Seychelles are beautiful.
-
Trying to finish Mom’s taxes. Not fun.
-
I have a western loaded for the evening: Canyon Passage with Dana Andrews and Miss Susan Hayward. I probably wouldn’t be watching it, except for the fact that Jacques Tourneur directed it.
-
The supporting cast has Hoagy Carmichael, Andy Devine and Lloyd Bridges in it.
-
We have most the of the set!
-
Tonight will be the first rehearsal on the set. :)
-
I don't have a script yet, but I'll get it tomorrow.
-
Where's the brain?
-
The one that wouldn't die? 8)
-
Tonight I dined out. It was with a group of people that grew up in the same block with my DH in a small Minnesota town.
-
I ordered the meatloaf.
-
For some weird reason, it came covered in about a can and a half of crispy dried onions.
-
Served over a bed of french bread, green beans, and mashed potatoes.
-
It was really wacky.
-
And not in a good way.
-
But at least the side salad was good.
-
Hanging on.
-
Post by post.
-
At least we can get to five.
-
It might not be pretty.
-
It might not be shiny.
-
One more.
-
PAGE FIVE
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
elmore, I think that was someone else.
-
They're just not set up to change a Friday night to something else. It really can't work.
-
Hoagy Carmichael has several songs in this movie. They’re not memorable but they are enjoyable.
-
I think my sister and I are close to finishing Mom’s taxes. She gets a small refund from the feds and owes more in state. Ugh.
-
We have most the of the set!
Where's the brain?
In my media room at my house. :)
:o
:P
-
Can we outlaw bad meatloaf?
-
The movie ended with Hoagy Carmichael singing Old Buttermilk Sky. Best thing in the movie.
-
Good night, all.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Not very sporting.
-
And certainly no rhyme or reason for one day page 8, the next page 5.
-
This has been kind of a day from HELL, save for a single nice thing. The kind of a day where you open your fortune cookie and there's nothing inside. Which is exactly what happened.
-
Hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
-
We NEED a better day.
-
Listening to music.
-
That always helps.
-
Well, George isn't going to of much help.
-
And I don't see anyone else in the room.
-
Do you?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Well, we're certainly sending March away with a thud, aren't we? But that's what kind of day it was.
-
Ridic.
-
More than ridic.
-
Oh well, nothing to be done about it.
-
Nauseating, in a way.
-
Listening to Pictures at an Exhibition.
-
Great performance.
-
Enter page six!
-
George took hike.
-
He ain't here.
-
He's elsewhere.
-
In the ether.
-
Out on a limb.
-
Far afield.
-
In a galaxy far, far away.
-
Who the HELL knows where.
-
Thud.
-
Dud.
-
Mud.
-
Bud.
-
Fudd.
-
No George.
-
This has been kind of a day from HELL, save for a single nice thing. The kind of a day where you open your fortune cookie and there's nothing inside. Which is exactly what happened.
Oh, no! I hate it when that happens!
-
We're not even close to the page that shall not be named and yet has been named.
-
No George.
George has arrived.
-
Shows up at midnight.
-
New notes are up.
-
I only got home about 15 minutes ago! :o
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
Tonight's run-through was the first time on the set, and it was kinda rough. ::)
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I never left the house.
-
Didn't feel like it.
-
We got up the set pieces from the TAO president's workshop and brought them up to the Lakewood theater.
-
PAGE RUPERT HAS ARRIVED!!
-
The set was painted over the weekend, so they only need touch-ups.
-
I didn't have much to do as far as my sound board was concerned, but the stage manager practiced calling her cues during tonight's run.
-
I think that this is her very first time SMing, but she'll be fine during the run.
