Well, you've read the notes, you did not pass over the notes on Passover, and now it is time for you to post until the passed over cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REMINISCE!

Welcome, 516 GUESTS!

Amazing! :D

Last night, after the late dinner with my friend David, I headed south, but wanted to stop at the Lacey Walmart to use the bathroom, but it was closed! I thought it was open 24 hours, but it's not. So, I went to WinCo, which was only a couple of miles away, and while the store was open, their bathroom was closed! :o Fortunately, it wasn't an emergency, so I did a little shopping then went home.
-
Today, I need to get up and leave by 9:45 so that a couple of us can rent a truck to bring our set, costumes and all other stuff back to our storage unit. Then, we're done until August!
-
More modern major miracle vibes for this week for BK!
-
Congratulations to John G on your 99,999th post, about to reach a really major HHW millstone!
-
More Passover wishes to all who celebrate.
-
Hoping singdaw is doing well this busy weekend.
-
Happy to hear BK's and George's shows both went well last night.
-
George, your bathroom search while on the road sounded difficult, but glad all turned out OK! Yikes!
-
Sounds like you had a terrific group of friends and family at your show last night, George, with your sister and her friends, and Shelly and David, plus more theater friends! It's so nice when that happens.
-
BK, hoping your leading man is over his cold early in the week! Vibes your leading lady stays healthy!
-
Hoping Jrand had a good time last night!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a most curious and unsatisfying night of sleep. There aren't enough drugs in this apartment to kill the pains and neuropathy in my legs, and I do worry that some night I will overdose. So, ;ast night around 2:00a.m. I woke to hear the ghastliest sounds of congestion coming from Annabelle, who was sleeping next to me. It's her nose, I thought it's clogged.
-
So I moved Thatch, who was sleeping pon the other side of me, got up, dug through my night table's utility items drawer, got a cotton ball, wetted it with the bottle of water on the night table, picked up a fighting Annabelle, and wrestled wioth her while I tried top clean her nose.
-
All it did was piss her off and frustrate me. As soon as she could break free, she ran off, followed by Thatch. I went back to bed, angry with myself and worried about her: what if she had pneumonia? what if I woke to find her dead? After maybe twenty-thirty minutes of fretting, Thatch leaped - he's a very energetic and enthusiastic bed jumper - back into bed with me and settled down. Shortly after, Annabelle jumped onto the bed, returned to her pillow, and settled down next to me. She stayed with me all night. I mosdtly dozed and nodded for the next three or so hours until the alarm rang. Her breathing was quiet the rest of the night, and she seems to have forgiven me.
-
I love my new cart, but it has one problem: the brakes on the wheels keep sliding on, no matter how many times I crawl around on the floor and release them. So, thins morning after kitty cleanup and making the bed, I will empty the cart, turn it over, and glue the break releases into an off position so I can push rhe damned thing easily.
-
I have a new orchestration/arranging student, and I have a score he's written for "Roses of Picardy" to go through before we meet on FaceTime on Tuesday afternoon.
-
I spoke briefly to my friend Doug yesterday about his trip to Salt Lake City and his presentation of Star on the Rise to Ballet West. Fingers are crossed. Please send good wishes and vibes.
-
DR ChasSmith, I haven't been to Zabar's in over five years now, but I believe their takeout room does have a few tables. When I used to stop in on my way to the subway and Toyland, I paid little attentioon to the space, focusing instead of what sandwich I wanted.
I do miss Artie's, especially when I'm in the mood for pastrami on rye.

Good morning, all. It’s a milestone post!

Good morning, all.

Good morning, all. It’s a milestone post!
DR John G., I've captured that lovely historic round number in a screen shot. I'm clueless as to how to cut it down and post it when I'm on this iPad, so I'll do that later in the day from the computer when I'm back from today's auditions. Or maybe someone else can do it before then. But never fear, it's captured.
-
So, yes, today is the last round of the auditions from HELL. I believe they're just about able to cast MERMAID with what they have so far, and they'll be hearing a few more people today who are possibles for EVITA. We shall see, we shall see...
-
Good morning, all. It’s a milestone post!
Congratulations, John G, on your fabulous milestone of a millstone!

Okay, that's kind of what I recalled from the very few times I'd stopped in there to pick up something. It's been years, though.

Thanks George.

DR Freddie, thank you for the feel better vibes.

I wonder why. Maybe that was their way of telling people to only take one motzah ball?
Or that the soup isn't made out of matzoh balls?

They were small bowls with very small matzoh balls and I still couldn't eat all of the matzoh ball. It really wasn't very good 😄

Wordle in 5.

So Gail and I got there last night.
It was about 45 minutes before the "banquet" so we walked around a bit looking for folks we know.
We each saw a few.
-
Then because we are both old we decided to sit down at a table.
All of the tables were ten tops. We chose one in the middle and we sat facing the podium and the tv screens so we could see when something was happening.
-
The had a lot of slides from our yearbooks going back to the 1930's.
But because they were in no particular order it was really irritating to watch.
-
The crowd was getting larger, but we were still alone at our table.
A young man and his wife asked if seats were available and I said yes have a seat.
After awhile, I asked him if he and his wife were graduates. He said yes, his wife had graduated in 2005 and he had graduated in 2006.
I couldn't see either of their name tags, but since he was sitting next to me I figured he had seen mine.
-
A few people came by and spoke to me.....and a few came by and talked to him.
I said: "I guess we're cousins to everyone in town."
He said: "Yes, we're even cousins." I looked at his name tag.
-
It was our cousin Keagan who had FIRED my brother Kent from his job about ten days ago.
-
So the both of us kept things light the rest of the evening.
As we got up to leave I just said to him: "Well, I guess business is business."
He said: "Yes."
And the evening was over.
-
I had met him once about three years ago....and I knew he looked familiar, but I didn't really imagine he would even be there.
Our regular conversations were light hearted and funny.
I'm thinking he probably recognized me - if so why did he join our table - surely he knew that it could have gone badly.
Or maybe he didn't recognize me. I didn't ask.
-
And that is how the Alumni Dinner for 2025 went.
-
I also found out when I mentioned the reunion to Keagan that there is a reason that we hadn't been contacted to rent a shelter house for the reunion.
Our mutual cousin Vicki - she is the generation between he and me - had moved to Florida. And Vicki and another cousin Pam were always the ramrods.
After Vicki's father died, she and her sister's husband had a falling out about what to do with the family property - a very large farm.....and everyone stopped speaking to the other. I guess brother Roe is in the middle.
So anyway no reunion this year.
-
Oh I was NOT chosen as Distinguished Alumnus or selected to have my photograph added to the Wall of Fame.
-

Did one sibling (or sibling's spouse) prevail over the other in dealing with the farm?
-
Can you say - Was the firing an ugly situation, or just a matter of Keagen's economic necessity?

Ubiquitous Post #101!!

DR FREDDIE I do not know the disposition of the property.
And the firing was an UGLY situation.
-
The Kurious Kase of Keagan.
-
Maybe it was one of those things where he committed to sit down, and realized it would be more awkward to reverse course, so he stayed to face the music. And he was scot-free until you gave him a little verbal dagger on the way out.
-
Congratulations to John of 100K Posts!

We just got back from a quick visit to the Boston area for the memorial service of a dear friend. He had been ill with cancer and we had heard about his move into hospice a couple weeks before he died. So it wasn't a shock, but it was sad.
-
The service was held at their church and the church was full. Church was more his wife's thing than his, but he attended every so often to make her happy.
-
The pastor knew him personally which I think makes all the difference in these type of church memorial services. He even did some very good impressions of our deceased friend, in a very loving manner.
-
The pastor had originally started in music ministry before becoming the pastor at this church, and he leads the music in the services as well. Our friend was impressed with the music one day and sent the pastor an email calling him the "Elton John of Billerica."
-
So at a later service that our friend attended, the pastor dropped in a little 4-bar prelude quoting "Your Song" before one of the hymns - he demonstrated to us.
-
Fortunately we saw our friend when we were back in Boston this December, and we are so glad we got the chance to visit in happier circumstances.
-
On the plane out I watched A Complete Unknown and on the way back I saw Juror #2. I enjoyed both of them a lot.
-
I wasn't in the mood to do my film class homework (watching Godfather Part II in advance of scene discussion on Thursday) but I'll do that this week.
-
Fortunately we saw our friend when we were back in Boston this December, and we are so glad we got the chance to visit in happier circumstances.
Condolences on your loss, MichaelG.
Sounds like a beautiful service.
It's so good that you got to see him in December.
-
Back from a great matinee - just about full, wonderful audience, many big laughs and lots hefty mitts and cheers at the end. Leading man was feeling much better, so that was good.
-
Kerry O'Malley and Adrienne Stiefel and daughter were there.
-
And our very own Kevin Hall was there with quite a group. Very nice to see him again.
-
After, a few of us went to Dino's.
-
And now, I am telling you I am not going.
-
I'm staying, I'm staying, staying put.
-
I'll go searching for a motion picture after I catch up on stuff.
-
I'm now all caught up.
-
Sorry for my absence.

CONGRATULATIONS to DR John G. on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament. 100,000 is quite a milestone.

Yesterday was a long but fruitful day.
-
We traveled to Ames, Iowa for the joint memorial service for the DH's aunt and uncle, who after 70 years of marriage died last year within a few months of each other. The children are far-flung, so this was when they could all convene.
-
I think they were glad that we drove to be there.
-
The memorial service was in a grand old home turned into a Funeral Home. There is even a pipe organ!
-
It was a long day of driving, however.
-
And we had to be back this morning for the DH to play Palm Sunday services.
-
Ordinarily he would have had to play a bar mitzvah yesterday morning, but the family decided to move that to Israel, as they wanted to be there for Pesach.
-
And now we enter Holy Week - a very busy time for church musicians.
-
My condolences, Michael G.
-
And those who celebrate, of course.
-
My condolences, Michael G.

It was quite mild here today. In the 60s, I think.
It got to 91 here.
-
Made a cherry cream pie today. It was quite easy and delicious.
-
I had a nice nap this afternoon, but I still feel a need to retire.
-
Since neither of us can reach our toes very effectively.
And you’d prefer not to touch each other’s toes?
I don't know nothing about birthing babies cutting toenails.
-
Although we did cut each other's hair for four years during the pandemic and didn't come to blows, so I guess we could attempt it.
-
Cherry cream pie
-
It was easy. In a food processor, mix a softened pound of cream cheese with a can of sweetened condensed milk. Add a can of cherry pie filling, a can of crushed pineapple (drained) and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Process, then pour into two pecan pie crusts. Freeze. That’s it.

Back from a great matinee - just about full, wonderful audience, many big laughs and lots hefty mitts and cheers at the end. Leading man was feeling much better, so that was good.
Great news, BK!

And our very own Kevin Hall was there with quite a group. Very nice to see him again.
Wonderful!

Good night, friends.

And others.
-
No, Twilight is not a great movie. But I really appreciated the time I spent with the cast.
-
And I loved the Elmer Bernstein score.
-
Good night, all

Sorry to hear, Michael G.

Hmm. John G’s latest pie recipe sounds so easy I could do it. But a pound sounds like a lot of cream cheese. Maybe I could do a half-size pie.

We couldn't possibly be on page six.

George has gone the way of all flesh.
-
And the way of all flesh has gone George.

Where'd everyone get to?
-
Certainly not here.
-
Perhaps there.
-
There's a lot of ME on this damn page.
-
Just one after another, me-wise.
-
We're not even halfway to the next page.
-
Is there an echo in here?
-
That's what I used to say to our lighting designer for Drat, whose name was - Echo.
-
Why hasn't Kevin regaled us with his Drat thoughts?
-
Or something.
-
Someone regale us with something.
-
It's only right.

Sometimes it's only left.
