Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a doozy of a dozer, and now it is time for you to post until the dozing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ALACRITY!
-
And a happy haineshisway.com birthday to the Vixter, who somehow is thirty-two years old.

Happy birthday to the Vixter!
-
Congratulations, BK, on your marvelous new posting millstone!
-
More feel better vibes for vixmom.
-
Travel vibes for singdaw and his DH.
-
Lovely posting about DRAT! THE CAT! in today's notes.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did everything possible top get to sleep as soon as I turned out the lights. Well, no such luck. I have no idea when I got to sleep, but I can sure tell you however many bathroom breaks I had before I finally did: 3 - count 'rm - 3! Once I did get to sleep, I slept soundly until Thatch decided it was time to cuddle. That's usually between 3: and 4:00. Then Annabelle showed up to cuddle as well, and I dozed until the alarm rang.
-
I nave to call Access-a-Ride I never got a confirmation call last night, and there was no text on my phone this morning, I do not need a hassle today, so I muist confirm the phone number is correct.
-
No, I don't miss the theatre that much!
-
Access-a-Ride confirmed the phone number is correct. I just hope the driver sahows up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, Vixter!

The shoulder is no better

I hope I can work for 13 hours.

No, I don't miss the theatre that much!
OMG! That's scary!
-
I hope I can work for 13 hours.
Vibes for John G for making it through the long work day.
-
Congrats to MR BK on his new millstone.
-
I had read that story about the GYPSY incident. It's really scary now how many folks in charge display a "not my problem" attitude when something like that happens.
-
Good morning, all.
-
That story is disgusting.
On the part of the family AND the security people.
-
I mean, just taking it at face value, which is all we can do.
-
First tech night was long and fairly exhausting, but we got into the swing of things and I'm rather looking forward to tonight.
-
Today, I've got seven choral pieces for the first of the spring concerts that I need to look at... since I believe I know absolutely none of them and the rehearsal is on Friday.
-
I love dozing, but too much of it, either in one long doze or in a series of shorter dozes, makes me feel so groggy that I end up wishing I hadn't dozed at all.
-
Notes peeped. Kaleidoscoped.

What a note by BK. I always had a hard time when a show ended. All these random people coming together for a singular purpose. Relationships form, a whole ecosystem. The roar of the greasepaint, etc. And then…poof! Everyone goes their separate ways. A party, a vow to stay in touch, some do, most don’t, on to the next chapter.
-
Vixter 32! Gads! I was about that age when I found HHW. Tempus freakin’ fugit!
-
Carson, it would be nigh impossible to convey to young people of today what a fixture he was in our lives back in the day. You watch clips and his interviews take their time, he lets people do their thing, but he’s always ready with a great reaction or quip. His weakness was his scripted comedy bits, but in unscripted fare, nobody is or will be better.
-
Shoulder vibes for John. What has helped me with shoulder issues is time in a swimming pool. Not anything vigorous, just floating and some light exercise in the water.
-
Boy, that Gypsy story and the one from the last Drat! make one wonder if humanity is in freefall.
-
At least the worst people got defeated in Canada yesterday. Carney seems like a genuinely intelligent, thoughtful guy, and he wouldn’t have had a chance had the Dumpster not united Canada with his 51st state rhetoric and tariffs.
-

And the election last fall didn’t?

Yeah, I guess just another data point on the downward trajectory.

One of the fun things about the opera chorus is that we have a lot of continuity between shows. Principals come and go, but choristers can stick around for a long time.
-
TOD: I watched some Johnny Carson, and other late-night favorites were the original SNL cast and Jay Leno. But I'm not much of a TV watcher, never mind late night TV. The only famous bit that I can recall seeing live vs on a replay was SNL's Bass-O-Matic sketch.

Good points, both of yez.

The photo of Bobby Darin on this album cover
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iooViITRp9M
reminds me so much of the actor playing "Cousin Greg" on "Succession."
We're watching season 4 of "Succession" these days. "Cousin Greg" is fascinating as one of those characters you'd least expect on the surface (looks-wise) to be as wily and manipulative as he is.

Swimming helped my shoulder as I recovered. I stopped going during the pandemic and never went back.

It is interesting. I think the way he handled the car attack at the festival cinched it.

That’s why I always tried to cast a few folks from past shows, then you get a little rep vibe and add some newbies along the way.
-
Fred, the Greg-Tom dynamic is one of the things that really made the show fresh.
-
The three main "Succession" siblings, actually the actors who played them, have certainly been big box office on Broadway.

Good morning.

Can we say it Three times?
-
Good morning, Laura!

We’re busier than we have been, but it feels slow.

I'm glad you got medical attention, Vixmom. I hope you feel better very soon. It wouldn't be a bad idea to see if you can get an appointment with your regular physician next week to make sure it clears up.
-
Maybe because the puzzle is finished
-
And I refuse to believe that The Vixter is over 30. She's 14 in my mind.
-
I assume Kieran Culkin's recent Oscar win must also be helping those "Glengarry Glen Ross" (Live at the Palace Theatre) grosses, besides "Succession."
-
And I refuse to believe that The Vixter is over 30. She's 14 in my mind.
She isn’t over 30. I can attest to that. Hell’s bells, I met her at least twice! She’s around 20 or 21.
-
Greetings from the Bottom.
-
DR CHAS SMITH that's quite a nice setup for the orchestra.
-
We have had thunderstorms all morning....but this afternoon has been mild.
-
I was not a regular Johnny Carson viewer.....but sometimes I watched to see a guest or two.

I'm back from NYC. Saw a lot of friends and a lot of shows.
-
Favorites: "Sondheim's Old Friends," "Just in Time," "Pirates, the Penzance Musical"
-
Liked very much: "Death Becomes Her," "Maybe Happy Ending"
-
Pretty good: "Smash," "Titanique"
-
No thanks: "Oh, Mary!"
-
Happy Birthday to the Vixter!

Health vibes for DR vixmom!

Vibes for DR JohnG!

I'm glad there were no incidents, such as the ones mentioned by BK and DR elmore, at any of the shows I saw.
-
Can we get to page 4 before 5 pm (Eastern)?
-
No, it's too late for that?
How about page 4 before 5:05 pm (Eastern)?
-
Page Four!

I'm glad there were no incidents, such as the ones mentioned by BK and DR elmore, at any of the shows I saw.
That's very fortunate!
Thanks for your New York theater report, Kevin!

Were. you sitting in the close-to-the-stage tables for Jonathan Groff in JUST IN TIME, Kevin?
-
Were. you sitting in the close-to-the-stage tables for Jonathan Groff in JUST IN TIME, Kevin?
No, I think they cost $399. There's only one performer I would pay that much to see (Barbra, of course!). Circle in the Square is a small theatre and my seat in the 6th row near the stage was great. I think I paid $115.

Was there really scripted dialogue in the show where he warned the front tables they might get wet?
vixmom mentioned the otehrday that he definitely sprayed at Merrily (downtown) and she had to hold up her Playbill to block that.
-
$115 is a very good price for a sixth row seat to a Broadway show these days.

Keith also got Wordle in three :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Not quite consecutive.
-
Already had food - same as yesterday but with fettuccine instead of papardalle and meatballs instead of sausage.
-
I realized that I don't have to be in such a hurry with the next Kritzerland - it's a whopping seven weeks away.
-
I kept thinking it was in May.
-
BK - Have you decided yet whether you're starting your second book for the year?
-
Congratulations, BK, on your marvelous new posting millstone!
Ditto, Congrats, BK!

Puzzels were very popular on our cruise. There were two tables set up and they were rather popular. As soon as a puzzel was completed a new one was put out.

Well, it is Carnival.

Safely home!

But very tired.

Good night, friends.

And others.
-
Home from a 13.5-hour day.
-
We managed to process 888 voters, the highest day so far. Saturday is the election. We open at 7 am.
-
I’m a little young for Carson or late night TV until after leaving for college in 1980. I enjoyed him but not as much as David Letterman. I like clips of Carson, though.
-
I didn’t like Leno, Conan or those guys.
-
Arsenio was occasionally good, as was Joan Rivers. But their guests were mostly second rate.
-
I loved Merv Griffin.
-
Six!

It feels like Friday to me.

Good night, all.
