Well, you've read the notes, the notes contained memories of Bud, and now it is time for you to post until the memories of cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: Rhapsody!

Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last night on TCM I caught part of yet another movie I somehow never saw, Charley Varrick (1973) with Walter Matthau. I'd never had any idea what kind of film it was, and it looked interesting enough that I will make sure I see it all the way through one of these days.
Up next (at midnight) was another Matthau one called Voice in the Mirror (1958) which I don't know at all. I wasn't up for trying to stay awake through it so I recorded it to the DVR for proper watching. Maybe this evening.
-
Good morning, all.
-
My favorite Bud Cort performance was in Robert Altman’s Brewster McCloud. And of course, Harold and Maude was up there too.
-
Last year, or thereabouts, the Bedford Playhouse showed Harold and Maude on one of their classic film nights. I hadn't seen it since sometime in the previous millenium, and it was something of a revelation, seen properly on that screen.
-
Since we're short on posts, I'll add a presumably unnecessary 107,000-post Millstone Alert about John G - feels like it could be any time now.
-

I first saw it on a big screen—with my mom. She was not amused.
-
I was.

Wonderful notes!
The two films mentioned by DR JOHN G, of course.
My brother and I went to a drive in one Sunday night and the two features were Judge Roy Bean and Harold and Maude.
I liked it so much I went back the next four nights Mon-Thurs to see H/M.....twice by myself. The shows changed on Friday.
-
He was the voice of the computer in Electric Dreams and I also liked Bates Motel and The Traveling Executioner.

From DR MichaelG,
Our bus driver was bragging to his colleagues about taking us up to the telescopes, which doesn't happen often since they're closed to the public.
Cool.
-
DR George, I'm glad you like the shelf after all of your long work putting it together :)
-
From Bruce,
Images in the notes are fixed. Tomorrow he'll see what's what with the avatars. On Friday or the weekend, the board will go down for a couple of hours again while they split the board to its own thing so it's not tied to the notes part - that will solve most of what's been plaguing us.
I'm glad the images are fixed. I seem to be the only person who has trouble actually reading the notes now, at least I didn't receive a response when I asked. I need the print darker.

Facebook memories told me that today is the 4th anniversary of Keith doing Wordle ;D

LOL That might not have been the best movie to see with her son.

Such a great scene.
-
I enlarged the notes making it easier to read them. I didn't want to miss reading about those happy days doing the play with Bud.
-
Since I reminded Keith of his Wordle post on my FB page four years ago, he posted this today.
Four years ago today, Keith bravely entered the arena known as Wordle.
What began as a humble five-letter fling turned into a full-scale campaign of linguistic domination. Fast forward to today: the beast has been tamed, the archives exhausted, and the dictionary now trembles slightly when he logs in.
Current streak: 895
Yes, eight hundred and ninety-five. At this point, vowels reveal themselves voluntarily. Indeed, Wordle wakes up each day hoping Keith sleeps in!
-
He keeps me entertained, and he better not miss Wordle today ;D

Of course, it didn't matter if I liked it or not. It's Shelly's shelve unit and she likes it...but then she thought that it would be taller. ::)

Too bad it isn't as tall as she expected. After all your work it is much more pleasant for you to like it ;)

I liked Brewster McCloud.
There was a time I liked Gas-sssss. But I’d have to revisit that one.

When James Van Der Beek announced his diagnosis....he didn't really say much about his treatment.
But in a People Magazine story about it, he was shown wearing a t-shirt and doing some exercises.
I saw the outline of the ostomy bag & related items - which I recognized because it's what I wear.
-
DR Jrand, I am extremely glad you survived this horrible disease.
-
Page TWO???
-
Stupid Amazon mailing tube still isn't here.
-
I'm told some of the avatars are back, but not for me. I only see Jrand. Then again, no one is posting.
-
I'm told some of the avatars are back, but not for me. I only see Jrand. Then again, no one is posting.
They're showing avatars, but not for me.
They're making fancy cars, but not for me.
Well, at least it's a post.
-
I checked posts from yesterday and MichaelG has returned for me.
-
Laura, Rodzinski, and Kevin are missing.
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
-
It's because in finally getting things updated to the new operating system, a bunch of old code isn't working and they have to figure out why? They JUST told me some avatars got restored, but none are showing up for me save for Jrand. I'll check yesterday's posts, since no one seems to want to post today.
-
It would be nice to get to page 3 before 7 pm (Eastern), though
-
It seems quite possible
-
Just a little elbow grease
-
or something like that
-
PAGE THREE!

And a funny one at that, Freddie! ;D
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
Congrats to Keith!
-
I have to say that I have NOT cleared my cache or updated in any way for a week or ten days so that may be why my avatar is still showing.
-
The times they are a'changin' as Bob Dylan would say.
-
Though it is NO excuse I am so distressed at what is happening to our country, that it is difficult for me to post or even assess the damage.
I want to be positive and upbeat and encouraging....but it is difficult in the face of such ignorance and oppression of truth......
-
I don't mean to be a downer or bring negativity to such a wonderful place as HHW.....but there it is.
-
Help me Obi Wan Kanobi....you are my only hope.
-
One of the dance skating teams performed to Nino Rota's ROMEO & JULIET and I have to say that every time I hear that music - all I can think about is Leonard Whiting's butt.
-
I haven't cleared the cache either.
-
Package shipped.
-
There are certainly worse things to be aware of.
I guess I was about 14 and saw the movie with a carload of my friends.....when that scene came on......it was VERY VERY quiet.....
LOL
-
Tomorrow is the Men's LONG program.....vibes for Ilia Malinin.
-
I received the sound bar I ordered when I thought my other one was broken.
I will probably hook my turntable in the computer room to it.....thereby retiring my 20 year old 5.1 + subwoofer system to the closet....with ALL OF ITS WIRES.....still works....but so inconvenient.
-
Where is everyone?
-
I don't know, don't ask me.
-
Don't ask me, I don't know.
-
Some nice posts about Bud Cort AND James Van Der Beek on the inner web today.
Seeing for the first time some photos of Bud Cort in his later years after his accident and plastic surgery and drug abuse.....it certainly makes it plain why MR BK didn't recognize him until they spoke.
The evening at the house of Groucho Marx is one of my favorite stories......
-
LOL MR BK.....that sounds like a song cue.
-
I don't think I ever posted here how much I love MR BK's version of PICK YOURSELF UP......what a joy.
-
So many songs I love.....
BUT Chinese Food In Bed is glorious......MR BK at some Kritzerland show you should have someone do that in sign language......I have done it a couple of times....and the audience loves it!
-
Good evening!
-
That's a wonderful tribute to Bud Cort, BK
-
TOD: Harold and Maude

Thanks again, DRs Jane and George!

I think we are all hurting. I have been very good at keeping the anger under control and my stress levels. I have to for my health.

-
Watching LOOK IN ANY WINDOW starring Paul Anka on TCM ONDemand.
-
Featuring Ruth Roman who survived the sinking of the Andria Doria.
-
Good evening.
-
JRand is the only avatar I see.
-
Today was our ocean day on Maui.
-
First was our whale watch tour, where we saw plenty of humpback whales plus a bonus of bottlenose dolphins.
-
Then to the aquarium, where we finished with an astronomy lecture from our professor on this tour. It was about why Hawaii is so good for telescopes.
-
A local high school sophomore was a guest. She just had her paper published in a journal our professor edits.
-
One of the telescopes we visited yesterday is for education outreach. Her co-author was one of our guides.
-
So exciting to see the next generation coming up!
-
Now it’s relaxing by the pool with a mai tai before heading out to dinner.
-
Such fun DR MICHAEL G thanks for sharing.
-
The snow is melting and I can see grass in the front yard now.
-
Still Thursday.
-
What is everyone's favorite Carroll Baker film performance?
-
I like ALL OF THEM....but her return to American film in Andy Warhol's BAD is especially entertaining.

Something Wild
-
The times they are a'changin' as Bob Dylan would say.
And Divine in Hairspray.
-
MichaelG, I am loving the Maui posts. I love that island.
-
Are you doing a whale-watching trip? I have never been there in the winter, so I haven’t seen them.
-
It’s been a long day.
-
John Legend and Lynn Nottage have written a musical version of Imitation of Life.
-
It’s not a story that I need to revisit.
-
Nothing against either film version, but the pain is just too great.
-
My mother loved it though, especially the original. She was a huge Claudette Colbert fan.
-
I saw Claudette on stage with Rex Harrison, Lynn Redgrave, Jeremy Brett and George Rose in Aren’t We All?
-
That was an incredible afternoon matinee. I got front row of the mezzanine at TKTS.
-
Posting for me is incredibly slow.
-
It’s almost a minute between posts.
-
John Legend and Lynn Nottage have written a musical version of Imitation of Life.
Wow! :D
-
So, the milestone will have to wait until tomorrow.

(I hope it's good. ::) )
:D

Six more posts.
-
I can do it.
-
I just noticed that the HHW clock is back on time! Hopefully, it stays on time!
-
Even if I have nothing to say.
-
I can do it.
PPPUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It’s time for bed.
-
Even if I have nothing to say.
That's never stopped anyone! ;)
-
It’s time for birdy to go to bed.
-
Only one more post, John!
-
Good night, all!
-
Congrats, John, on your millstone (even though the screencap can't be uploaded yet)!!
-
Congrats on that lovely number.

New notes are up.
