And a happy haineshisway.com birthday cheer to alexpaige, who has visited from time to time.

July is Cell Phone Courtesy Month.
Why does that sound like an oxymoron?
-
July is National Baked Beans Month.
And National Hot Dog Month.
And National Pickle Month.
And National Ice Cream Month.
And Grilling Month.
Which all makes sense, since July is also National Picnic Month.
(It is also Family Reunion Month, which sounds like a good excuse for a picnic.)
-
July is Tour de France Month.
July is also Women's Motorcycle Month, which sounds like cheating.
And July is also Wheelchair Beautification Month, which doesn't sound like cheating at all.
-
Why is it I have a relatively easy time with the convoluted Unseemly Trivia questions about musicals, but such a difficult time with the simple questions about straight plays?

Wheelchair Beautification Month?

Good morning!
I've been up since 4;30 a.m. Not sick or anything. I guess I was just too tired to sleep. May try to squeeze in a nap later, but right now, I don't even feel tired despite the lack of a full night of sleep.
-
Since I've been up so long, I was able to watch two movies all the way through, two documentaries on the DVDs, do a workout, wash a load of linens, dry them, and fold them. Wow!
-
First I watched the documentary on the CHARLIE CHAN IN PARIS DVD. It was basically about Earl Derr Biggers and gave lots of information about him I didn't know.
-
Next, I rewatched ANNA KARENINA, probably my favorite Greta Garbo film. How wonderful the actors in the movie are! If they had had the supporting actor category in 1935, surely Basil Rathbone would have won the award for his performance.
-
After my workout, I rewatched Hitchcock's STAGE FRIGHT and the making of documentary on the disc. Again, a film I never tire of watching.
-
Favorite British actors and actresses:

When I go back down, I'll get to Betty Grable's MY BLUE HEAVEN.

I'm up, I'm up, and too early. The phone ran at seven-thirty - I needed someone's address and since they're on the East Coast they were leaving it for me on voice mail.
-
I may go try a little nap now, just to see if I can drop off.
WBBL.

We were hoping to have lunch at an outdoor cafe where the dogs are allowed to sit with us. But it just seems too hot to do that, for the dogs' sake, that is.

Good morning, all! Today's been quite strange so far: my brother and sister-in-law are in Indiana till tomorrow, so it's my nephew Matt, the dogs Mattie and Max, the ghosts and I. Last night around 3 AM, the dogs sdtarted barking so I let them into my room, where they invaded my bed, fought over who was lying the colsest to me, and I finally threw them out. I got up around 6 to let them out and went back to bed to have more of the same canine battle continued. I finally got up around 8:30, had breakfasdt with my brother Tom, his wife, and my dad, ran some errands, and here I am.
Today I've got more BABES IN TOYLAND edits, and I may have some babysitting with my dad while Yom and donna run errands. Their band just did a demo and I've been playing it all morning. I love Donna's voice.
I heard from our DR MBarnum this morning: he was in a wreck yesterday that totaled his car. I'll let him tell you more, and I believe he wrote that he had a concussion. Perhaps, like the taxi crash improving Florence foster Jenkins' high F, it will improve his mind. Let's all send him some vibes!
-
Saturday greetings! Here I am at work on what really seems like a holiday.
Vibes for DR MBarnum!
-
She of the Evil Eye is here, so I'll have to leave shortly, after which, I shall return.
-
CP, you mentioned several other actors that I missed...
Ian McKellen is incredible as is Diana Rigg.
Maggie Smith was teh other actress I was trying to think of and could not remember her name.
-
Page 2 has arrived at 1109 am Central Time!!
-
Just noticed something... Either my computer clock has gone nuts or the server clock is different the time difference between my post and my computer is 3 minutes... :)
-
I was logged in, then I was logged out but my name was still listed as logged in, but now I seem to be logged in again.
In any case, quick recovery vibes to MBarnum!
-
I am recovered and I am here. Yes my lovely Blue Hyundai Elantra that I loved so much is no more...it is a pile of twisted blue metal. I am fine, just sore and I had a mild concussion. Spent several hours in the ER, and I must say that the staff of the Salem Hospital are very nice people!
Thankfully the car accident was not my fault...a girl, who had just gotten her drivers license two hours ealier, pulled out of the mall parking lot onto "D" Street, evidently without looking both ways, for if she had looked both ways she would have seen that I was driving westbound on "D" Street in my car full of Target and Big Lots bargains!
We collided and car parts went flying. I hit my head on the driver's side window and was knocked silly. I still have an affinity for Bollywood so I think no damage was done (sorry Elmoore! LOL!).
My head and neck are sore, and will be for several days I am told, so I don't know if my holiday weekend will be spent cleaning the house and garage as I had planned, but we shall see.
I do have a nice rental car, which is good as I have to drive to Portland Sunday to attend my Uncle Bud's 80th birthday party.
-
DR MBarnum - I am so sorry about your accident, but am glad you're OK and that you could tell us about it so articulately! Please take it easy.
-
Thanks DR Ginny! I am really glad that Bosco was not in the car with me! I wear a seatbelt, but there is not one for him and he would have been flung about.
-
And I am going to miss my shiny new car, freshly repaired from the other weeks car mishap! I guess fate was just out to get that car! LOL!
-
And though TPUnk and Rodzinski are now in California vacationing their little hearts out, I do want to add that I am so happy that Walty is well and back home.

DR MBarnum, I am glad to hear you are ok. I'm also glad to know it's not your fault (too much paperwork when it's your fault). I'm sorry to hear you lost your favorite car, though.
The young girl had some 'splaining to do to Dad last night, I'll bet!

The young girl had some 'splaining to do to Dad last night, I'll bet!
Actually dad came to the scene of the accident. He was quiet. The girl was pretty upset. She apoligized quite a lot. As our cars were being towed away (her's was totaled as well) I went over to her and reasurred her everthying would be ok (she was crying) and the insurance would take care of it all. I felt really bad for her as she was supposed to start school in Portland on Wednesday and now she had no car.
-
MBarnum - What a wonderful outlook you have in bad circumstances.
-
You're a swell guy, DR MBarnum. She's lucky she ran into you instead of someone else. Poor dad. His insurance just skyrocketed.

I thank all the gods of all the Italian sword-and-sandal epics, plus the Almighty Himself, that you are relatively unscathed.
You will NEED some pain relievers...and if they gave you any vicodin, just WATCH OUT...you WILL be cleaning a lot, if my experience is any indication of side effects.
Whatever became of the "bargains" from Target and Big Lots? Were they destroyed, strewn or recovered?
-
TCB, referring to your comments last night, Have you ever head a buffalo burger?
Yes, they are very good, but I prefer buffalo roast.
-
MBarnum, I am so sorry to hear about the accident; but I am very grateful that you didn't injure that pretty face!
-
Back from errands. So hot out, but I'm going to attempt a jog, which is probably folly. Folly or not, here I go.
MBarnum, that's what insurance is for - you'll both get new cars out of it.
-
~~~Super Car Vibes for DR MBarnum!!~~~
And good luck with the pain control and recovery! Several people I work with have had car crashes and for a couple of them, it took MONTHS to fully recover. :-\
-
Back from a jog - did the short version just to be on the safe side.
-
OMG! I hope DR MBarnum is OK. I worry about traffic accidents because sometimes injuries don't show up right away and folks have problems later.
Very best hopes and wishes for no health problems!
-
Had several nice telephone conversations this afternoon, always welcome, and on a hot day like this, perfect to take inside.
-
I did manage to see one movie earlier in the afternoon - Betty Grable and Dan Dailey in MY BLUE HEAVEN.
I had never seen this before, and I was astonished that it wasn't the usual Fox fluff. It had a serious story attached (adoptions thwarted) to the usual array of production dance numbers.
The transfer is quite beautiful.
I didn't have time to same any of Dr. Drew Casper's commentary, but I HAVE to listen to some of it, if for no other reason to have something to complain about! :)
Thankfully, most of the goodies were in the trunk which was so tightly packed they were unable to move about much...the only breakable was a green glass desk lamp that was sitting on the front seat next to me. It was landed on the floor of the car but was unbroken and appears to work fine.
And at this point Advil seem to be doing the trick, for the most part.
I shall now flop on the couch and watch some movies.
-
Off to make up the bed (since I washed linens this morning) and then get back to Dr. Drew Casper.
-
MBarnum, glad you are ok. Car accidents are nerve wracking events...
Glad Walty is home and well. Hope the vacation is going well.
I don't know about the cat situation. They will look at each other and hiss but Bootsie absolutely refuses to let it go any farther. They will not get close to each other. I keep putting Bootsie back in her room and she keeps going into the carrier. I just don't know if it's going to work out. I'm going to give it a little more time, but I'm beginning to wonder if Bootsie needs to be an only cat. Callie is really trying to be friends. I haven't given up, but am considering talking to the neighbor who was also considering keeping Bootsie. If he really wants her, it might be the best thing. I just don't know.
-
I decided to just open Bootsie's door and go downstairs and see what would happen. Well she came downstairs turning and hissing at every corner (pretty funny actually) then Callie came down and cornered her under the couch. They hiss and vocalize, but haven't attempted violence yet. I put Callie in the other room and let Boots roam around the house. She's back in her room and they've both had dinner and are calming down. They both stick their heads around corners and hiss right now. Thus endeth today's catty chat with cilla
Today is Saturday in the Park - our annual free concert that draws thousands and thousands and thousands. It started at noon. Tonight's headliners are Chuck Berry and the Neville Brothers. From our annual Mardi Gras on Thursday, to the Big Parade last night to SITP, it's all been atribute to New Orleans and our sister city of Lake Charles. We ran into some of the Lake Charles Crewe de Charlie Sioux (a combo of Lake Charles and Sioux City)
They were so funny. On the drive up from Lake Charles, they were in a van with dark tinted windows and paper tags. You really couldn't see the paper tags. In Arkansas they got pulled over because of the tags, and the story was quite dramatic and ended with -"you can go - it took us awhile to bring up the Louisiana data base, it's been under water"
Anyway, we went outside and there was their van. Every window was painted with Mardi Gras stuff and things like "We're here and we're ready to party" LOL and they wonder why they were stopped.
-
AHHHH the weather channel has almost the whole country painted red!!!! Oh...that just means the temps will be in the 80s and 90s. Whew! Thought it was political for a minute there.
-
So, it's been raining off and on all day. I did help Paul paint the logo on the water tower...well I pooped out after about 4 hours. It was really hot and wet. I'm considering trying to go back tonight for a last chance at Cajun food and to see Chuck Berry and the Neville Brothers. I was there long enough to get my volunteer shirt today. It's great. It was sponsored by a Bail Bonds company. The back of it says "DO NOT ARREST THIS VOLUNTEER"
-
I'm having a frenzy!!!! I also have tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday off work. I decided to take Monday off before I came back to work a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping that will be enough time to get the house cleaned and the cats settled.
-
My nephew Cory came by this afternoon and took me out. We went to see his new apartment, then his friend Birdhouse (real name Chris) joined us and we went out for lunch.
I'm free tonight, but I'm so tired from the dogs' song and dance all last night that I think I will stay in tonight.
-
Wow, only one post in the last hour! I've decided to skip the concert. Thousands of hot sweaty people, rain predicted and I'm really tired. Besides, I think I need to be here with the cats nonstop for a few days to get them introduced properly.
-
Page three. Page THREE. Where in tarnation IS everyone? This will NOT do. It's not July 4th quite yet buckaroos.
-
Watched "Krakatoa, East of Java" this afternoon.
What a strange, sometimes good, sometimes not, film.
The entire Brian Keith/Barbara Werle (never heard of her before or since) subplot seemed to come out of some odd Disney film that never got released. Her song was excruciatingly long (and what a song by Mack David!)...and his laudanum-affliction scenes just go on and on and on...I kept wishing the damned volcano would blow and put him out of his misery.
Oddly, the volcano seems to erupt and destroy itself three different times during the course of the film.
The DeVol score is a mixture of 60's pop nonsense and nice melody.
I'm waxing nostalgic this evening...and am going to watch "The Time Machine" and "Time After Time"...two very well-done films with fantastic music scores.
-
Nice film choices, DR RLP.
DR MATTH - I am very fond of Mr Dan Dailey and his dancing. He makes a LOT of movies worth watching....including MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS. And his TV series THE GOVERNOR & JJ.
-
DR MBARNUM I am so glad you (and your purchases) are okay! Wow! Yes, it sounds like NEW car time for you. If we really knew the other drivers and their abilities....I don't think ANY of us would venture out of our driveways.
Mr Adam Long said that he enjoyed having lunch with our MR BK - and that even though the waitress at the California Pizza Kitchen seemed to be immune to charm, there was much FUN had.
-
How could I forget
CARY GRANT &
RUPERT GRAVES
-
Busy day at work....not so busy here.
-
DR CILLA LIZ....I am enjoying reading about your cat adventures. And of course we must see copies of your pictures in the paper!
Usually when I get my picture in the paper it is positioned next to a more newsworthy story.....so that the headline seems to point to me. Last time it was "Murderer Sentenced to Death." And there I stood!
-
I'm tired.
-
Oh dear! This does not look good. 6:30 p.m. on the Left Coast and less than 90 posts for the day.
-
Page THREE. I shall now be on my way to see Miss Joan Ryan. I'm thinkin' we'd better have a frenzy or three.
-
Today I went to the store early, before the start of the Taste of Tacoma. I got back at 11:00, and have spent the rest of the day taking care of my hip. The infection is basically gone, but there are lumps along the incision that I am not pleased with.
-
We just painted the initial background. I'll post a photo later of the finished guitar. After Paul worked his magic it was really nice
-
I go back to the doctor on Monday, and supposedly return to work on Thursday.
-
I don't know how to do the nifty link thing but here is the only place you can see the photo that was in the paper online
http://www.dotphoto.com/GuestViewImage.asp?AID=3607685&IID=121598599&INUM=1&ICT=38&IPP=50
We can do it.................
Whew! Page Four.
Now, wat a minute. Someone is cheating. No erasing posts allowed.
Ok, let's try this again
Sorry TCB I couldn't get the photo thing to work and ended up deleting the post
Gee, Cilla, if you had wanted to start page four, you should have just said so.
-
That's me on the ground. This is the only way you can see it on the web...with PROOF across it. Proof of what, I just don't know
-
LOL, If I had known that deleting the post would take us back to page 3 I wouldn't have done it. It was SOOOO much work to get there!
-
That's me on the ground. This is the only way you can see it on the web...with PROOF across it. Proof of what, I just don't know
I thought maybe the two of you were appearing in a production of the play, PROOF.
-
No we were painting the Saturday In the Park poster logo on the water tower in Grandview Park.
-
And why does the assistant painter's friend get the center of the photo, and you are reduced to the background. Obviously, they don't know who you are!
-
It looked really cool when Paul finished it. I think I got a photo, if not I'll get one tomorrow when it's all calmed down over there
-
No we were painting the Saturday In the Park poster logo on the water tower in Grandview Park.
I know, I was just frantically trying to make up posts to get us over 100.
-
LOL! I really don't mind. It was a really bad hair day. I'd just as soon be in the background where I can pretend I'm slim and my hair is just blowing in the wind!
-
Can anyone break a hundred?
-
I know, I was just frantically trying to make up posts to get us over 100.
You succeeded. I sometimes forget what I've posted, so I repeat myself. Such is life
-
Oh, I thought that was going to be post 101. :)
-
Wow we better do a triple frenzy to get us above an all time low
-
What is the all-time low?
Hey, I'm almost at post 2525. (Feigns excitement)
-
Hey, I'm almost at post 2525. (Feigns excitement)
And man is still alive
-
A little Zager and Evans for my post #2525:
In the year 2525
If man is still alive.
If woman can survive, they may find.
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies.
Everything you think, do and say, is in the pill you took today.
In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes.
You won't find a thing to chew.
Nobody's gonna look at you.
In the year 5555
Your arms hanging limp at your sides.
Your legs got nothing to do.
Some machine doing that for you.
In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife.
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too.
From the bottom of a long glass tube. Whoa-oh
-
I believe it is 129.
-
Hey, Cilla, we went by your post #3535 not too long ago without even noting it.
-
Well it's 9:02 in Iowa
I've been watching The Drug Years on VH1, it's actually quite interesting to watch the evolution of drug use over the years
In the year 4850..................
No, it isn't quite the same.
Well, logically, if we set an all-time low today, that'll make it more difficult to make an all-time low in the future. Right? Of course, right.
-
And that means.......................?
It was a terrible attempt at humor after you said "I think its 129"
WELCOME TO PAGE 5
And do you want to be the one to explain it to BK?
It was a terrible attempt at humor after you said "I think its 129"
My apologies.
This would not be a good thing. :o
Ok, for you LA people. I'm going to LA the end of July to see CURTAINS at the Ahmanson and am looking for recommendations on a hotel and whether I'll need a car. I'll only be there 2 days (flying out on the 3rd day). The Omni is the closest and has a good gov rate on the weekend...hmmm any suggestions?
-
Well, I'll add a post, but I'm heading off to bed!
See you all tomorrow.
-
In the year 4851
If we ain't havin' fun
The posting record's done...
Forget it, I thought I was on to something there. Never mind.
-
My apologies.
Actually you don't need to apologize for my humor....I can do that ;D
-
Hey, elmore, did you read that they think they found Noah's Ark? Maybe they can find your luggage!
-
I'm home. I went into work for a few hours and afterwards I bought a new mouse for my computer. First of all, my old mouse (it's a wireless) isn't that old, but yesterday, it just wouldn't work. :o I changed the batteries and that didn't make any difference, so today I bought a relatively inexpensive wired mouse. I plugged it in and everything worked just fine. Later on, I'm going to swap back the wireless mouse to see if it works again...sometimes all it takes is some kind of change and everything goes back to normal. If it does, I'll keep the wired mouse as a back-up.
Joan of Ark, lovely courageous Joan of Ark, for forty days and forty nights of rain....
-
Wasn't there a show called Joan of Arkansas? A precursor to Joan of Arcadia, I'd imagine.
-
Not to mention Helen of Troy, New York
-
Well, my work is done here. And the Seattle Mariners are playing on television.
-
Fred, please let us know when you know the date of THE LAST STARFIGHER at Village.
From The Brady Bunch:
Alice : I'm sorry, Cindy. I have to go back to Seattle.
Cindy: Do you love Attle more than you love us?
-
TCB - It'll either be Friday August 4 or Saturday August 5. Thanks for asking, as always!
-
Are we safely past the all-time low?
-
I don't know.... I am assuming so.
-
And with so many people on vacation, it's an accomplishment.
But will the bitch-slapping machine see it that way?
-
I see on the topic list page, it says that 150 posts denotes a "hot topic."
-
How hard could it be to get to post #150?
-
Here's a post to make up for the one that was deleted, for example.
-
That was only fair, wasn't it?
-
They say you know you've arrived when you've made it to Page Six.
-
Maybe they wreen't talking about HHW Hot topics, but they should have been.
-
We can reach it by railway
-
We can reach it by Trailwaaaays
-
I don't care how we get there
Get theeeeere!
-
We got there! Whew! We're officially a hot topic!
-
Is that like a Hot Pocket - I just saw a commercial for one of those
-
I have nothing of interest to say today.
-
DearReaderLaura, did you go for a walk and see anything?
-
MBarnum - what kind of car are you going to buy? How's the neck and head feeling?
-
I could use a Hot Pocket right now, to replenish all those burned-up calories from typing. :)
-
You're WAY past 2525 now....
-
Head On - you rub it directly on your forehead.
-
Hot Pockets - You apply them directly to your thighs and butt.
-
Rita Rudner had a great joke: If you have cottage cheese thighs, instead of exercising, just try to make them look more attractive. Try putting a peach half next to them.
-
Hot Pockets - You apply them directly to your thighs and butt.
A moment on the lips forever on the hips....
-
DearReaderLaura, did you go for a walk and see anything?
No, I woke up at 4 a.m., and it was about 88F. Too warm already.
-
I sanded and stained today. And I discovered my new self-closing hinges won't fit.
-
See, I told you I had nothing interesting to say.
Surely in four hours, the West Coasters can get us to page 7, right?
Surely in four hours, the West Coasters can get us to page 7, right?
One would think so
We've definitely set the record for number of posts so far this month.
THE SAUCIER APPRENTICE - that's the name of my next something or other.
You, funny guy! ;)
DR MATTH - I am very fond of Mr Dan Dailey and his dancing. He makes a LOT of movies worth watching....including MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS. And his TV series THE GOVERNOR & JJ.
I like him very much, too, and I feel he gets forgotten when folks think of the great musical stars of the 1940s and 1950s. He even earned an Oscar nomination for one of those Fox musicals, something not too many of his musical contemporaries can claim.
I was pleased that Dr. Drew Casper in his commentary acknowledged his transvestism and bisexuality in his detailing his life and career. Often the folks who participate in these commentaries don't give full details of the lives of these stars. Casper doesn't do it in a gossipy way but rather matter-of-factly.
I believe it is 129.
No, I believe the all-time low is 122.
A NEW movie I saw recently that I deeply recommend to you when it reaches your neck of the woods:
PARIS, JE T'AIME!
Wonderful concept and moving moments!
Remember: you read it FIRST here at HHW!
I can still hum the theme music from THE GOVERNOR AND JJ. Very catchy.
-
So, I enjoyed Drew Casper's commentary for MY BLUE HEAVEN more than for THE DOLLY SISTERS though it still smacks of lecture-itis. And he does make a number of errors in his haste to squeeze in as many words as possible in as short a time as possible.
Dance of the Seven Pages, anyone?
-
Page Seven Peter and Wendy Dance!!!
Monday is my Mom's 78th birthday, so Mom and Dad are coming in from Brooklyn tomorrow to celebrate. They always show up earlier than requested. So I may be E&T for much of the day.
-
Several posts just got deleted.
After I finished with MY BLUE HEAVEN, I watched the last two episodes of THE CLOSER. Both were among my favorite episodes of the season. The next-to-last becasue it featured hunky guest star Jason O'Mara playing a role which was miles away from his noble leading character on IN JUSTICE.
(In fact, this may be the recurring character coming back on this week's episode if it isn't Douglas Sills.)
The last of the first season's episodes finally had the squad standing behind their female chief in a show of loyalty when she was threatened with an Internal Affairs investigation. The mystery of this episode was probably the easiest to predict of any during the season, but the squad's camaraderie finally gelling with Brenda was tear-inducing.
Oops. Someone deleted some messages that put us back on Page Six.
This is also MY Post # 8080! ;)
Yes! So far. ::)
MBarnum - what kind of car are you going to buy? How's the neck and head feeling?
Head and neck are still stiff and a bit sore, but I will live.
As for a new car...I won't know what is happening with the insurance company until next week, after the holidays, I guess...I have no clue how this all works...I don't want some old clunker car...I would be pleased to have another Hyundai Elantra hatchback, which is what I had, albeit a new one.
-
After THE CLOSER, I put in the movie A FEW GOOD MEN and rewatched most of it (still have the last 25 minutes to go).
THough the film looks good on DVD, I think it could use a new transfer. Some scenes aren't nearly as sharp or as detailed as they should be.
-
How about some kind of hybrid...like the Prius (http://www.toyota.com/prius/)??
-
I finished the evening with a new episode of THE EVIDENCE. I'm thinking this may be the last one that was produced just by the way the show ended. (no spoilers).
-
I think those would be a bit out of my price range, DR George.
-
Does the insurance company just give you a check and you buy your own car with the money they fork over, or do they actually present you with a comparable car?
-
So, tomorrow, I'll concentrate on finishing CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE and watching BROTHERS GRIMM to clear them off the DVR.
-
I just watched a very fun 1962 Bollywood film called KING KONG...it had no ape but it starred muscular former wrestler and soon to be action star Dara Singh as a guy who is named King Kong after saving a damsel (played by Kum Kum) from a giant dinosaur. What the dinosaur was doing in India is anyone's guess.
This movie was just newly released on VCD in India, but not available in the US or Britain yet...but I have my connections and snagged a copy as I had long wanted to see this movie! And despite it's not having any English subtitles, I still really had fun with it! I was very much like the old Flash Gordon serials of the 30s!
Oh, it also co-starred a wrestler/actor named King Kong, who preceeds Dara Singh as the kingdom's hero.
I have no idea. I am so in the dark on this as I have never been had my car totaled before.
And do you still owe on the car that just got totalled? What happens with that?
-
I paid for my car with a home equity loan...so the car is officially paid off, but I still own about 12,000 on the loan :-\
-
I hope you get it all back!!
-
Now I am gonna pop in the 1950s film THE RETURN OF DRACULA starring Francis Lederer and then my second Bollywood movie of the weekend will be....
TARZAN AND KING KONG (1962) which may or may not have any relation to the previous King Kong movie...we shall see....and which may or may not have an ape in it...actually there is an ape on the VCD cover, but he seems normal ape sized.
And Dara Singh's brother Randhava stars in this film along with the lovely Mumtaz.
MBarnum, have you gone to www.kbb.com to find out what the value of the car is (not necessarily what you still owe on in, though)?
-
Well, I have to go. My sister wants me to start cleaning up my house (I'm renting it from her) so that she can paint it. She wants to sell it and I don't want to buy it. It's going to take me a long time to clean up, so, now is as good as any to start. ;)
Be back later!
-
Ouch, George. You sister is selling your house out from under you?
-
On my way to bed now. Hope I can get more than the 4 1/2 hours total I got yesterday.
Good night!
-
TCB, referring to your comments last night, Have you ever head a buffalo burger?
Knowing TCB, I'd say he's "headed" many a buffalo burger.
Sorry, just too good to pass up. ;)
-
MBarnum, glad you're OK! If your insurance works like ours, they will give you a check for what the "replacement" value of the car is, and you get to get your own. What I'm not sure of is how paying off whatever you owe on the totaled car works--when this happened to us, we owned our car outright.
-
We leave for our cross-country train trip to Wisconsin next week, so I will probably be even more E&T than usual for the next couple of weeks.
FJL, it's funny about the trivia contests--I've discovered I pretty much either know it (or have a good guess) right off the bat, or it's pointless to even try. :) This morning I knew it had to be one of two teams (i.e., playwright/director) and the rest was pretty easy.
-
Mini-frenzy ending now. The new Priest starts tomorrow at my church gig, so I need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed, or at least bright tailed and bushy eyed, for her first day. 'Night.
Back from Miss Joan Ryan's show. I'm still hungry - I hadn't eaten all day, saving up for dinner at the restaurant where the club is. Well, I had the chicken picatta, which was good, but which had about two ounces of chicken in the piccata (I can't remember if picatta/piccata has two "c"s or two "t"s so I'm covering my bases). I had a couple of pieces of bread with it and that's about it.
The Almighty Internet says "piccata"!
But was Miss Ryan delicious too?! :)
Has Ann caught up?
Miss Ryan was her usual fine self.
Oh dear! This does not look good. 6:30 p.m. on the Left Coast and less than 90 posts for the day.
If this is left coast, what is the right coast??? ;)
Rita Rudner had a great joke: If you have cottage cheese thighs, instead of exercising, just try to make them look more attractive. Try putting a peach half next to them.
LOL!!
