Title: slow scrolling and slow typing

I finally solved this frustrating problem. If anyone else experiences it, here's what I did:

On Internet Explorer, go to Tools. Internet Options. Click on Accessibility tab (near the bottom). There's a box that says "Format documents using my style sheet." Make sure it is unchecked. (I have no idea how mine got checked, but once I unchecked it, everything worked well.)
