Anyway, I bought my sister the complete first season of "Here Comes the Brides." We used to watch this when we first moved to Olympia and I've never seen it since.
...It used to always make me nostalgic (can children get nostalgic?) for the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
DR Edisaurus, have you read the Kritzer trilogy yet?
And the word of the day is: PERSIFLAGE!Casey would waltz
Something that's well-known around these here parts.
I don't watch late night television at all, but I'd watch Conan O'Brien on NBC if I watched anyone
In other news...
It looks like I'm all clear to head back up to NYC this weekend for the various festivities - thus my *sigh* earlier - so... Guess I need to get some e-mails sent out.
"Look on the bright side..."
Today is my sister's birthday! We're having dinner at a local restaurant in downtown Olympia called The Urban Onion. Inside the restaurant, there's a big mural over the kitchen area with the title, The Herb and Onion. Cute, huh? ;)You mean this place (http://www.theurbanonion.com/)?
...
So does that mean you don'tAnd it would have looked so fetching on him!haveget to wear the dress?
So does that mean you don'thaveget to wear the dress?
Late night is when I finally get around to watching TV, which is almost always The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. They always make me laugh!
...When exactly are you DRs in NYC next week?
And is Thursday day still a good day for a mini-tour?
Richard and I arrive on Monday around noon and DRs Cillaliz and jhvw late Wednesday afternoon. I think we're all counting on a Central Park/Upper East Side mini-tour with you on Thursday, if that still works for you!
...I don't think you have to read the trilogy first, necessarily, although it sort of informs everything I do - they're a fast read, if that's what you decide.
...DRGINNY - Wow! I would love to be in NYC with you and Donna McKechnie....wow!
Sickie-poo. That's us.Not very descriptive.
And MY second day of school was just swell!!! I have three academic courses, which are led by wonderful, quirky professors. I think I'm gonna LOVE this!!! (even if I didn't exactly LOVE shelling out over $300 for textbooks...)
...and bypass the nitwits in the headphones, altogether.
Hmmmm GMAIL is having server problems.

My question for Aks BK day:
What musical number from a Broadway show that NEVER made it into the film version is MOST missed....and how would you stage it?
Ask this question next week when my brain has returned.
But you *do* want to be heard, don't you?
(Married to a nitwit with headphones...film, not stage, but fighting the same battles)
Sound reinforcement for the stage is a fact of life - the artists do it in a subtle fashion - the B'way folks have made B'way all about them (sound design) and they are ruining the theater. I remember seeing the awful The Capeman and thinking they got it right - very subtle but very pleasing sound reinforcement. Then I found out that Simon had brought in his long-time engineer Roy Halee.
I'm probably going to bring Vinnie in for The Brain - just to give his two centimes.
I am having a hard time finding the trilogy on HHW or Kritzerland...where is the best place to purchase said books?
DR Edisaurus, they're not on Kritzerland. Go to the HHW home page where Bruce's notes begin every day. You see where to click on the Kritzer books.
Edisaurus, the Kritzer trilogy lays the foundation for so much of who BK is today, which is why I mentioned it. BK just said that more eloquently--and more modestly. The character of Benjamin Kritzer is still very alive in today's BK.
I could not agree more with you Jeanne. Wonderful imagery and writing.
A professor at a nearby school has his Writer's Block text on reserve for his writing class.
elmore, we wrap at ten tonight - we could meet at Joe Allen afterward, but I may not have much voice left, so you'll do most of the talking and I'll nod. If that's okay, just make a reservation for table 20 under my name and I'll meet you there. Just confirm with me here or via e-mail.

Go write a review at amazon!
Do you mean my Writer's Block? Tell me more.
MBarnum-Saying Muzbe makes my mouth tingle which kind of bothers me. ;D
George-Today is Craig’s birthday and Keith’s brother’s. I wasn’t too thrilled about that when Craig was born.
Happy Birthday to DR GEORGE's sister.

Is Donna M's book a memoir or a self help book or a book or pictures or what?
I found a nice tribute for Edward Arnold:

Sorry it's a bit long. I have to check on Sherlock and can't spend the time doing a click on "here"
Edward Albert has passed away at age 55.

Well, I can still wear the dress if I want to - it's hanging in my dressing room. ;)
I am doing it on IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and its implementation in school districts in a rural state.
Talk about the NIMBY syndrome or Not next to my kid!
Ask this question next week when my brain has returned.
MISS GRANT TAKES RICHMOND starring Lucy and William Holden is on TCM tonight!
My pick for most missed musical number would be "Who's That Woman" from FOLLIES.
What musical number from a Broadway show that NEVER made it into the film version is MOST missed....
..Hungarians who have contributed to changing Canada ...(
I'm confused!
The questions was:There had been no film vesion of FOLLIES from which any number could be missed! (Follies on Concert - DVD - has the number)

I did enjoy Craig Bierko's introduction to BOSTON LEGAL, but the episode wasn't advertised as a two parter, but the cases introduced in this episode certainly were not brought to conclusion by the end of the hour. Denny's dwarf case and Bierko's first case with the murder of a judge were barely begun before the show was over.
The little person who played (and is) the "dwarf" is Meredith Eaton (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0247860/). She played Kathy Bates' daughter-in-law in "Unconditional Love (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219374/)," also starring Rupert Everett. It's a cute movie and Meredith is hysterical! Jack Noseworthy (formerly of Jose's Lestat) played Meredith's husband and Kathy Bates' son. On "Boston Legal," the picture that Denny had of her is one of the pictures for her on IMDB.com.

BAILEY, Colo. — An adult gunman took at least two people hostage at Platte Canyon High School in the tiny mountain town of Bailey on Wednesday, and was holding at least four people hostage.
Platte and the adjoining Fitzsimmons Middle School were being Wednesday after reports of shots fired. Schools in the surrounding areas were on lockdown. Around 4:30 p.m. ET, there were reports that a tank was brought in and aimed at the door of the school, as were the SWAT teams on scene.
my answer would be "My Own Best Friend" from CHICAGO.
My luncheon date is all set for tomorrow with my friend Rodney Gilfry. Tonight BK, tomorrow Rodney. I'm going to write a book, DINING WITH CELEBRITIES. I'll tell Rodney to expect an interview request in 30 years, DR MBarnum!
SOPHIE'S CHOICE isn't a musical is it?

Their California Burger (with real meat) is fantastic!

OH!! AND I arranged to get the day off on October 5 so I can come in and follow Jose around NYC with all the others of the HHW gang.. I will not be sticking around for the evening festivities however as it's "Meet the Teachers Night" at the Vixter's school.
Back from the dinner with the panda author.I didn't even know pandas could write! I'll have to check that out!
What show is that from that Rodney is in, DR Elmore? CHICAGO?
I believe that pic is from the premiere production of Andre Previn's opera, A Streetcar Named Desire at Chicago Lyric. He played Stanley Kowalski.
*It's available on CD - and DVD, I think.
Dancing with Stars Teaser.....they just said tonight's elimination is one of the most surprising ever....cool beans
JUSTICE has been cancelled! Whew! I kind of liked that show the one time I got to watch it.
JUSTICE has been cancelled!
Dinner was a lovely Chinese buffet, but I'm wondering if something on it contained MSG - to which I'm allergic.

*I didn't hear that teaser. But i would not call it the most surprising ever. I was surprised at the second lowest. But i thought that person was the worst. And while I like the person who went home. I think they were one of the worst as well.
I was pleasantly surprised at the first person saved (willa). I think she is one of the best females (with monique and vivica). I was glad for her.
And i guess my voting for marion payed off. :)
Huh? Who said so? I know it's going on hiatus due to baseball, but I hadn't read anything about it being canceled yet. I know Fox's HAPPY HOUR is in desperate trouble.
Was that in a memo from Alberto Gonzalez?
OK - knock that off >:(
Besides, John Ashcroft instituted the "Jusy Say No to Guilty Bastards Rights" memo years ago.
