Good Morning all. I miss you terriblly but hope to spend more time with you soon when the dust settles her at the new job.
Lar... I am very sorry to hear this Toyland news. I habve been looking forward to seeing the final results. This is really dreadful after all your hard work.
But seriously, folks...the Internet has changed the world, in good ways and bad. The good, of course, are all here at HHW! Also good, I met my ex-boyfriend (and still very dear friend) over the Internet. :)While surfing for porn???

I would hate to be without the Internet, but I do feel that technology is at least partly responsible for the degradation in human relations. I think people get used to talking to the computer and forget how to relate in a kind and responsible manner when they do talk to humans. There's far less thoughtfulness and concern expressed, whether it's a sincere "How are you?" or just taking a moment to say hello and chat a bit. Friends who live in the South tell me that people there still take time to chat and be friendly, but said friends are also retired and live among less-stressed neighbors. I'd be interested in other what other H/Ks have to say about this. I suspect it is partly regional.
Our Narrator/Professor Leder, Benjamin Clark, is from good ol' Ashland. He is doing the Ashlandites well, I will say that.
All the tests were normal & I'm out of here!

All the tests were normal & I'm out of here!
Good morning, all! My, it's been such an interesting 24 hours and not much of what I had planned it to be. I got to Toyland to learn the project was to be terminated on Dec 31. Then, last night, around 6:30 pm EST, I had a long conversation with the head of the institute funding the project and I think the project will continue through publication of several scores. This led to my spending several hours processing all this information and communicating with various people on the project. I finally dragged myself into bed, sorted 10 days' worth of mail and passed out.
All the tests were normal & I'm out of here!

On Planet X we have no need for human interaction, we communicate with one another by typing on keyboards or leaving messages on personal wireless devices.

Our PR person just sent the following quotes - I haven't personally seen The Tolucan review, but here's the quote, plus some reader reviews from the LA Times:

“A polished production! Escapist entertainment for all ages!” - Beth Temkin, The Tolucan Times
“RAVE! Saw this production a L.A. City College Saturday evening. What a treat! Was fun filled entertainment with innovative sets, terrific songs and dance numbers, and a delightful cast in a science fiction romp that had us laughing throughout!” - Sy Sussman, Los Angeles, CA, Los Angeles Times Online Reader Review
“RAVE! DO NOT MISS THIS MUSICAL! Broadway caliber, clever dialogue and lyrics, and beautiful voices. Hysterically funny! Like DAMN YANKEES on intergallactic steroids!” - Tracy G., Santa Monica, CA, Los Angeles Times Online Reader Review
“RAVE! If you liked THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, you’ll love this play, the singing was extraordinary, the story delightfully silly. It is the best cotton candy I’ve seen in years. You’ll walk out of the theater smiling!” - Mitchell E., Los Angeles, CA, Los Angles Times Online Reader Review
DR GINNY,
I appreciated your words about people spending many hours doing Google searches, then calling you. I tend to keep lots of notes on things--some are hard-copy, some are online. People often say, "Just do a Google search." Well, I do hundreds of them. Sometimes I find what I want, sometimes I don't. A good reference book/file, etc can be a real time-saver.

Pastor of 2,100-member church resigns, admits relations with men
Barnes admits his actions to congregation with video
BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
December 11, 2006
ENGLEWOOD — The founding pastor of the 2,100-member Grace Chapel has resigned after he said he had sexual relations with other men.
Paul Barnes, who led the church for 28 years, told his congregation Sunday in a videotaped message that church leaders allowed The Denver Post to view.
He and his wife have two adult daughters.
“While we cannot condone what he has done, we continue to support and love Paul,” associate pastor Dave Palmer said in a written statement.
Palmer told The Denver Post that the church got an anonymous call last week from a person who overheard a conversation in which someone mentioned “blowing the whistle” on evangelical preachers engaged in homosexuality, including Barnes.
Palmer told the newspaper he met with Barnes, who confessed. A board of elders held an emergency meeting Thursday and accepted Barnes’ resignation.
“I have struggled with homosexuality since I was a 5-year-old boy,” Barnes, 54, said in the videotaped message. “... I can’t tell you the number of nights I have cried myself to sleep, begging God to take this away.”
A devil food is turning our kids into homosexuals

There's a slow poison out there that's severely damaging our children and threatening to tear apart our culture. The ironic part is, it's a "health food," one of our most popular.
Now, I'm a health-food guy, a fanatic who seldom allows anything into his kitchen unless it's organic. I state my bias here just so you'll know I'm not anti-health food.
The dangerous food I'm speaking of is soy. Soybean products are feminizing, and they're all over the place. You can hardly escape them anymore.
…
Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality.
I'm very tempted to prepare some egg nog.
... last night's A&E movie WEDDING WARS...
High Fidelity is closing Dec 17. That didn't take long.
Glad you are feeling better, Cillaliz. Is that because of the muscle relaxers?
From time to time, our library staff has participated in a radio station's on-air challenge, pitting us (with all our print and electronic resources) against some computer geeks with Internet access only. The outcome is always that the geeks are faster, but the librarians are more accurate.
RE: the Reviews for "Brain"
although bk can be a persnickety SOB
"Old Virginia" was by no means a reference to DR Ginny.
;)
Every time someone says, "Yes, Virginia..." I think they're talking to me!
Good to hear you had a successful and enjoyable lay DR George.
How can it already be December 12?
Watched Wedding Wars last night, Matt. Kinda of clever I thought, in that it used a humorous approach on the surface but was quite strong in its politics.
George I do think gold is your color.
Rodzinski, you need to see the barber.
I haven't even printed up Christmas cards yet. Damn them, damn them all to hell.???
I wish!
Im going to take cast backstage photos tomorrow night!
Try to make sure there are more than just pictures of me in my undershirt, Adriana...Party pooper! ;)
Try to make sure there are more than just pictures of me in my undershirt, Adriana...
George, after seeing you in that getup remind me not to run into you in a dark alley.. HEE HEE HEE!!!
You look crazy!
THanks for sharing the photos...
i do have a question... Was DuPars ever used in movies? I swear I saw it in Valley Girl
And thus ends our pictorial of MBarnum's trip to Hollywood!
I can say I have chatted on the telephone with one DR and that has been Jane. A very classy lady!
Party pooper! ;)
I wish I had a pet....
Thank you for sharing the photographs DRs George and Michael.
"My" parrots are not sure they can cope with the competition from your wardrobe George.
It's all in great fun!! You'd be as safe with me as with a nun! ;D
Hey, I just said make sure not all of them were of me in my undershirt...
I mean, I think that over-inundation would lessen the impact, yes?
Looks nice
can the piano be restored orfixed from the wetness? Did the neighbor claim any responsibility?
It will be easy to care for since it wil not show dirt really fast
Glad to hear it got fixed. Did you ahve to pay for any of the repairs?
That's right. I wanted something that was dirt-colored. ;)
I had to pay to have the hole cut into the wall and the owner of next door said that he'd pay for that...big deal! :P He needs to own up for the whole thing...the hole, the carpet and the wall.
Good luck on getting somewhere with him.. If all else fails take both teh owner of the flat and the renter to small claims court.
Oooo...I hadn't thought about the renter! SHE was the one to leave the hose hooked up to the faucet. It's HER FAULT!! :(
One of the stars of BRAIN FROM PLANET X, Kevin Spirtas along with a man whose name completely escapes me at the moment.
Diana Darrin is now a big fan of Kevin's and she is going to be getting his CD very soon. She loved his singing voice!

On to other adventures...my lunch date with Rock Stevens, star of HERCULES AND THE TYRANTS OF BABLYON and MUSCLE BEACH PARTY! We at in Studio City at a place called CAMILLE'S. The food was, in the words of Bruce Kimmel, yummalicious!
Rock was heading to the gym afterwards.
