Well, you've read the notes, the notes had sheen and polish and were quite Brazilian, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're getting a Pacoima wax.
-
And the word of the day is: OSCULATE!
-
Welcome four GUESTS. Who are you people?
-
Nobody in the jernt for over an hour - talk about your WUSSBURGERS.
-
Well, if that's the way it is, that's the way it is.
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
Apparently not tonight, Josephine.
-
I'm here!
It has been quite a while since I have been on page one. But luckily It is a four day weekend for us school children.
My acting teacher is having my old scene partner and I do our scene in front of a beginning acting class as an example of good work...however I do not feel the scene was all that amazing last semester, and I do not know if it will be this performance (next Thursday afternoon). Perhaps.
-
Friday morning greetings.
As promised here is the link to the Middletown Journal obituary for DR Elmore's father:
William E. Moore (http://www.legacy.com/middletown/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=86463241)
You may have to register (free) to have access to the site. The write-up contains the Hospice address that DR Jane asked for earlier, too.
-
Thanks for the link, DR GINNY. I got it all and didn't have to register. The photo was very nice.
-
Lots of posts yesterday with lots of news.
Congrats to A Patti - new HHW GOD[DESS].
Continued vibes and prayers to DR ELMORE.

My brain should arrive today.
-
Temperature is 5 below zero. It is a work day.
-
Have not received my Brain yet. Maybe today.

Have not received my Brain yet. Maybe today.
And the first I'll do when I get it:
I will while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a BRAIN FROM PLANET X

The snow has turned to ice on the streets of New York. It's not pretty anymore. It's cold here as well, though not as cold as in the Midwest.
I'm listening to BBC Radio Cleveland right now, then I will listen to Donald's show.
We will watch As Time Goes By tonight after dinner.
Saturday evening we will trek up to the northern regions of Manhattan. A friend is having a house warming party at his newly renovated apartment. He moved in over a year ago but now all the work is finished and his bf has moved in (that happened a few months ago) so now it's time to celebrate with a party.
Sunday afternoon we will continue our party at Anthony's cousin. They also live uptown but not as far (96th Street as opposed to 181st Street). We will see cousins and eat pizza and celebrate the twin birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Who knew that they were both born on the same day and on a Monday even ;)
Monday is scheduled to be quiet although we do need to buy some groceries. Perhaps the crowds at Trader Joe's will not be so bad at 9am on President's Day. I love Trader Joe's, the prices are good, the quality is good but I'm disenchanted with the lines. If you don't go at 9am when the store opens you face lines of epic proportions. The charm of waiting 20 minutes in a line to pay for 3 items is wearing thin. I do go to 2 other grocery stores but that's a lot of walking/lugging just for foodstuffs.
-
I needs must leave you all. These pesky printouts keep appearing on my desk and I must get them off!!!
Later!
-
LOL DR BEN. I know - isn't it terrible how work interferes with life?

TOD
DVD - Black Rebels with the lead character, a black-Mexican undercover cop being played by that famous Mexican-black actor Mr Mark Damon.

Good morning, all! I slept so well last night that I missed a terrorizing phone call from our DR MBarnum.
Randy tells me that several of the things I implied my father's company payed for for on Macbeth's behalf were actually paid for from my parents' bank account. One thing about that obituary, though: Lady M will chew nails over dad's "special friend" being included! Thanks for posting it, DR Ginny!
Today, I pick up my trousers and, if needed, go out to buy a new suit. Beyond that, I have lots of work.
-
Yeah. I finally read that we will finally get to see NIP/TUCK here! It starts sunday march 4th. OF course it comes at STUDIO 60s demise. But i'm happy the season will finally begin. But i actually hope that they air the last episodes of the STUDIO 60.
-
I have a new motto for the day:
Open all seams!!
-
Here I am at work for an information-waitressing day. Because someone has called in sick, one of my hours will be at the dreaded computer sign-up desk :P
-
My motto for today will be "It's soup--not vomit" (courtesy of DR Sandra.)

Re: open caskets at funerals.
I think some nationalities just do this. I know my brother-in-law's family (filipino) always does this. I don't really care to look (so i just keep my glasses off so i can't see clearly from across the room).
I'm not sure what all Jewish families do. But i recall seeing the caskets open during the private family sittings (before the funeral).
-
DR Elmore, I thought it was very nice that your family mentioned your Dad's special friend.
I'll still be thinking of you and your family in my prayers today. And I'm sending some trouser vibes--just in case.

Le Check de la Media
iPod (or as I calls it, MyPod): THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X! Also, PLEASE - The Pet Shop Boys
Tivo: Lots from TCM this week: THE BIG CHILL, THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS, PRIZZI'S HONOR, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S
CD Player: SIMPLY SONDHEIM, A 75th Birthday Salute.
-
I don't have an iPod or an mp3 player. I rely on the Internet and CDs for my musical entertainment. Perhaps at some point in the future I will break down and purchase an mp3 player. Perhaps at the same time I will break down and purchase a cell phone and upgrade the home Internet account to high speed.
-
That was a very nice article, Larry. I, also, am glad that you included Lucille. That was a lovely thing to do.
-
And the word of the day is: OSCULATE!
Casey would OSCULATE
With a strawberry blonde,
But not while they were dancing -
Much as they were both light on their feet,
Neither of them could walk and chew gum at the same time,
And OSCULATING while dancing would have been the kiss of death.
-
There is nothing in the DVD player or the CD player at this time.
However, I've been reading Julie & Julia - My Year of Cooking Dangerously, by Julie Powell. This is the bestselling account (now in paperback) of Julie's attempt to a) cook all 524 recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, b) write a blog about her experiences, and c) stay sane in NYC with her husband, brother, and others in her life. Fortunately, she knows how to write about herself with a sense of humor. And she's getting me to re-read some of JC's MtAoFC, at the same time. Der Brucer may be in for some better feeding because of this.
Or not.

And I guess I should unpack some more boxes today...
I guess...

BK, ask Bert I. Gordon, whatever happened to that FRANKENSTEIN script of his that I re-wrote (extensively) for producer Sy Weintraub that he was supposed to direct. I think the thing started for a few days and then never happened. It was a great script (my version...Bert's was not so hot)
-
As for the Friday Media Check...
Is it really Friday already?
-
Time to head off to work.
I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight.
-
Ah, just catching up on my NYTimes reading this morning... And since we were talking about Red Velvet Cake recently...
So Naughty, So Nice (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/14/dining/14velv.html?_r=1&ref=dining&oref=slogin)

Will we never get to page two?
Undoubtedly.
-
Good morning!
Beautiful, clear, cold. Same as yesterday.
-
I spent the morning watching the new Criterion transfer of BICYCLE THIEVES. Haunting as always and a print considerably improved from the old Image DVD that's been around almost a decade.
-
Lady M will chew nails over dad's "special friend" being included! Thanks for posting it, DR Ginny!
The obituary was very nice. While I appreciate the information for the Middlesex Hospice, it was Vixmom who requested it.
At my uncle's service there were three large photos, one of my uncle & my father, one of my uncle and my aunt, the last of my uncle & his special friend. I cringed at the last photo for the simple reason I miss my aunt. Of course the special person in his life should be included.

Am checking in on what promises to be another busy day at home. Repair folks are due in an hour to put finishing touches on ceiling after having repaired the roof a couple of months ago to stop a leak. Am also expecting a UPS shipment of an electric grill.
My condo banned charcoal grills, but allows gas and electric. Now that I'm "in the mood" to "cook out", I've ordered a nice electric grill for my balcony. On top of that, I must continue to make living improvements started some time ago, which culminated this week in anticipation of the arrival of my 37" Panasonic plasma HDTV, which arrived yesterday at 5:35 p.m.
In three words:
-
OH!
-
I also put in the second disc and watched the first two special features. One was a documentary with one of the screenwriters, a film scholar, and the actor who played the child Bruno talking about working on the film and with director De Sica in general.
The other was a forty-five minute film lecture on the Italian neorealist movement. Very informative and worth the time for someone interested in that period in Italian filmmaking. I certainly learned some things I didn't know about the period.

Jose-Thanks for the cake link. I hesitate to make a Red Velvet Cake-all that red food coloring. Since it is all the rage I'm sure I will find a bakery so I can try a piece, without baking an entire cake.

I watched "Ugly Betty" and "Grey's Anatomy" in High Definition (over-the-air digital signal) last night. I also cheated a bit and caught the phenomenal opening of CSI which I'd always hoped would be extraordinary in HighDef. I was NOT disappointed.
I even stayed up to catch the opening of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Very high-tech, loud, jumpy and glittery.
I even saw one commercial last night that blew everything out of the water. And now I can't remember what the product was. But it was STUNNING.
I am looking forward to immersing myself in all the features and I've yet to even hook up my DVD player/recorder so I can watch commercial DVDs (and that's gonna be something, I just know it!).
At any rate, I do want to thank DR MattH for availing himself last evening when I desperately needed help making things work before prime time started on the West Coast. Had I not had his (very) patient guidance/instruction, I'd probably have fallen asleep on the floor with my head buried in the instruction manual.
So...I've got to move a dresser now to allow the repairman access to place his ladder under the "bubble" in my ceiling that needs "fixing".
-
New episodes tonight of the CBS and NBC line-ups.
New episodes of MONK and PSYCH.
I'll have to record these as I will be at a friend's house watching, probably, V FOR VENDETTA.
-
Oh, yes. I moved my old TV into my bedroom and set it up to watch/record VHS. I managed to record "Smallville" and "Supernatural" on it last night.
I do not, however, anticipate sitting in my room watching TV!
:D

I believe I departed last night before welcoming our latest Goddess to the clouds.
ADRIANA PATTI CONGRATULATIONS!

What I want to know, re: all the red food coloring: Does it manifest itself in any way AFTER you've consumed it?
Does it stain the teeth, the tongue?
Does it alter the color of anything the body rids itself of...later?
-
Speaking of commercials on high def broadcasts, I've noticed recently that more and more of them are being produced in high def. All of the Mac/PC commercials are, of course (and the iPod commercial with the crazy colors is stunning in HD), but it's also amazing to see how many companies are finally buying into the new technology and using it. The widescreen and surround sound for these ads definitely draws one's attention to them whether you want it to or not.
-
It was my pleasure to offer assistance, DR Ron. To be truthful, hearing your delight as things fell into place was ample reward for any efforts I was making.

Have you ever read CUJO? That was enough to turn one off of red food coloring.

Oh, I forgot one other thing on my DVR:
COQUETTE, the 1929 talkie that won Mary Pickford an Oscar for Best Actress. I've often read that this is the worst performance ever awarded an Oscar, and I'm going to be anxious to see it for the first time. Sad to say, it may not be today.

I've never noticed any staining of my teeth after eating a slice of Red Velvet Cake. -Unlike the dark stains that red wine inevitably leaves on one's pearly whites. *Always have your picture taken at parties BEFORE you have the red wine. Smile! ;)
As for the "after effects"... I don't think I've noticed anything there either. Of course, I'm not sure I've looked.
However, there are some red velvet cake recipes that use beets for the red coloring... And I know that sometimes after eating beets.... Well... 'Nuff said.

I love this movie DR MattH! I saw it some years ago and was very taken with the film...although by today's standards it is very creaky and melodramatic...but if you are in the right frame of mind you may enjoy it.

So other people doze off while you're chatting with them too? Or just DR elmore?
-Well, maybe if the median age of your interviewees/adorees was not twice your own, they wouldn't nod off so much.
;)

Hmmm... I believe I've developed a slight cold. I've been sniffly all morning. -I think I just need to get out for a bit today and walk around - even if it is cold.

When the recent movie remake of "The Hulk" was released, either Hershey's or Nestle's had a chocolate syrup tie-in where, when you added the (normal, brown-looking) chocolate syrup to milk, it turned your milk green. It was on sale and I bought a bottle. However, I didn't just add it to my milk, I sometimes just ate it right out of the bottle, or poured it onto a spoon. I never got green teeth and my tongue didn't stay the greenish brown color for very long but just let me say that the human body digests the green food coloring as a food and not a liquid! ::)
:P
;)
-
I cannot find anywhere on the Brain from Planet X's Amazon page to put up a review. What gives?

Interesting...I selected "music" and searched "Brain from Planet X" and THIS (http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Spirtas-Taylor-Lauren-others/dp/B000N8UZKE/sr=1-1/qid=1171643898/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-7422810-3076119?ie=UTF8&s=music) is the only thing that came up.

MBarnum, maybe you have to wait until street date on amazon, although that seems odd. I'll go nose around.

In other words, I had no trouble finding it. :-\

Oh...MBarnum, you mean a link to actually review the item. I looked and couldn't find that either.

I am very pleased this morning, first my tax refund was deposited in my checking account and second, when I checked the Dell website for the status of my new office computer it said it has arrived in Sioux City and is out for delivery!!! I may get it today after all. Since it will be delivered to the office, if not today then I have to wait until Tuesday

Tomorrow I'm going to my parents house. Tomorrow night we are going to see my niece, Samantha, in Little Shop of Horrors at the community theater at the lakes. I'm really looking forward to seeing the show.
-
Good morning dear Esteemed, written, waxed, met, eaten, remembered, and delicioso BK --
Well (as you can obviously see) I got my desk put back together and my laptop hooked up, so I can pop in here to the Living Room and say Huzzah to you, and to the assembled and lovely H/Ks.
2 days of filming PSAs at the house is intense, hectic, and messy. But it was a nice and considerate production company, and they left everything in very good shape, put everything back where I wanted, and arranged to have the entire house cleaned by 2 persons this coming Monday. They also left a very nice check, for which I am very grateful! I have some pics from the shoot which I'll post here over the next couple of days.
-
Boo Boo souped on the floor this morning...it was hairball soup
Mmm, mmm, good...
-
Does anyone know of another website besides Triton (or eBay) that sells theatre posters?
-
My "Brain" CD arrived, and I've really enjoyed listening to it and having the fun of the show in my head, all over again. At the very end of the Opening title song, when the final "stinger" chord hits at the last, I can't help myself from doing the "Kimmel hands" pose of shock and fear..... even in my car. I got a very strange look from a lady in a car next to me last night !!
Thanks for such a terrific show, and CD !!
-
And the word of the day is: OSCULATE!
To osculate -- sounds most decadent ;)
-
!
Today, I pick up my trousers
;D
-
I plan to listen to The Brain in my car tomorrow. I can have 2 hours of uninterrupted listening pleasure
-
I have a new motto for the day:
Open all seams!!
To open all seams!! -- also sounds most decadent! ;)
-
MBarnum, drop amazon a line and ask why there's no review link - say you got the CD by preordering from the label and that you'd like to now review it.
-
Ah, hah. What a good way to open page 4 -- with decadence!
To an "Open All Seams" dance...ooohhh, sounds decadent!
-
At long last four.
-
Will we never get to page five?
-
And the first I'll do when I get it:
I will while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a BRAIN FROM PLANET X
And if you had a Brain From Planet X, Scarecrow, what would you do with it? Hmmmm?
....Why, buy 10 more, and tell your friends to buy 10, and tell their friends to buy 10, and so on, and so on until everyone has a Brain ... and is playing it on their CD players...
-
The weather report says we have 100% chance of precip today and it will start at noon. Well, it better hurry, it's after 11:00 Am and the sun brightly shining.
-
It's also 16 degrees out....feels like a heat wave!
-
Better get some work done TTFN
-
My brain should arrive today.
Sounds like a lot of folks are missing their Brains today....
Not to taunt those of you witih missing Brains.... but I've got mine!! (acutally two!) and one is what is in my CD player -- I'm doing The Brain Tap as I type this (which has some logistical issues, but it can be done) -- so that asnswers today's question...
and in my DVD player -- The Brain From Planet X as soon as it becomes available... (which would also make a lovely Chirstmas , birthday, or just because gift for your friends and families....)..
-
Media report -
CD(car): audiobook, Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren The Devil Wears Prada Weisberger. Yeah, yeah, this one has taken me a long time to get through. Being snowed in 1 day last week and 2 days this week meant that I haven't spent as much time driving as usual. I should finish it on my way home tonight. Next up: Minette Walters' The Ice House, read by Simon Prebble.
DVD: John & Abigail Adams: American Experience, Mozart's Requium from Sarajevo, Amadeus
-
And I'm sending some trouser vibes--just in case.
Trouser vibes -- sounds most decadent! ;)
-
Good morning dear Esteemed, written, waxed, met, eaten, remembered, and delicioso BK --
now, that really sounds decadent! :o.... ;)
-
I do wish everyone would do what Miss Karen is suggesting - which is to tell your friends about The Brain and send them to kritzerland or amazon or cdbaby.
-
I shall now be on my way to the breakfast meeting, then on to the Ray Courts show.
-
Today I have zero tolerance for the bottom-feeders who hang around the library. Must be time for a 3-day weekend.
-
I want to send a special GOOD MORNING -- GOOD VIBES -- GOOD HUGS wish to dear Larry. Elmo, I have been thinking of you there for the past few days, and was glad to read here that you Dad has passed away and isn't in discomfort and pain any longer. I hope the rest of everything can ptogress along smoothly, and that you can try to ignore the unpleasant members of your family.
I've been watching the weather in the Ohio area, and you have to have frozen your poor little goyisch tuchus off by now!! Keep warm friend.
-
Brains.... but I've got mine!! (actually two!)
And yes, to answer that age-old question, two Brains are better than one -- and 10 more would be even better -- now I'm danciing to The Plan...
-
and you have to have frozen your poor little goyisch tuchus off by now!!
Ouuch! Sounds painful and decadent!
-
Good Afternoon!
Three invoices completed. Three invoices sent out. And now to fax a Talent Agreement.
-I guess that could be considered productive. ;)
-
Blame it on The Brain that I'm all hyped. My mind's been bent to the dedadent side. (Oh, and have I mentioned, that guy playing Zubrick is most awesomely awesome?!) "Wowey! Needs more Zubrick" (in my best Christopher Walken impression)...
-
Good morning!!

DVD - nothing
DVR - "House", "Grey's Anatomy", "Ugly Betty", "Days of Our Lives" and "American Idol"
Off to get ready for this years birthday cake bake off - last year I made Martha's Deepest Darkest Crepe cake, this year it's going to be a Tres Leches Cake. Seemed easy for the little time I've got to do this thing this year!!!
-
With all this decadence, I may need to update my review before I post it on Amazon:
"The music, lyrics and orchestrations are perky, fun, lively, entertaining, and wacky-wild sexy. The Brain From Planet X will make your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your trousers vibe. It's a zany, decadent musical romp that will open all seams at warp speed."
-
Today I have zero tolerance for the bottom-feeders who hang around the library.
Tell 'em to scram and get a Brain... from Kritzerland..or Amazon..

YUM!
-Although, I've actually some bakeries here in NYC carrying "Cuatro Leches Cakes". As for what that fourth type of milk could be.. ??? -Heck, I've even been "suspicious" of the three types of milk in the original. ;)
-
Okay, I've listened to The Brain...so now I can come down from my Brain From Planet X high...now the time is nigh to get on with my errands to run, and tasks to handle...Adieu
P.S. If you haven't ordered your Brain CD, you're just stupid, stupid, stupid!!
-
Before I go, let's get to page 5 which seems as good a place as any to do The Brain Tap Dance...
-
Let's all do The Brain Tap to page 5.. tap, tap, tap
-
tap..tap..tap...
-
tippy-tap, tap, tap, tap...doing that Brain Tap
-
an I'm doing The Brain Tap right on over to page 5...tap,tap,tap
-
Now, let's all do "The Brain Tap" dance ..
-
Are you auditioning for WAIT UNTIL DARK, Miss Karen?
-
..and sing along to The Brain's Song... I love that one, too...it's cute, cute, cute!

OK...
E-mails sent. Invoices sent. Faxes faxed. And now... I think some lunch is in order.

Anna Nicole Smith said in a 2001 will that all property of her estate should be given to longtime companion Howard K. Stern to hold in trust for her son Daniel, who died in September.
"I have intentionally omitted to provide for my spouse and other heirs, including future spouses and children and other descendants now living and those hereafter born or adopted," Smith said in the will.
...
The attorney for Smith's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, said the will wasn't filed in any court, so it is not valid.
I wonder what corespondence school law course taught that bit?

PORTLAND, Ore. —
An 84-year-old woman who confessed to having sex with an 11-year-old boy in her foster care reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted sex abuse, officials said.

In my CD player: the new London Palladium cast recording of The Sound of Music that was cast by the British TV show. Connie Fisher who plays Maria actually quite good. :)
After that will be The Drowsy Chaperone, the "Deluxe Collector's Edition Remastered From the Original 1928 Recording" that was released on numbered, limited edition vinyl! Fortunately, when you get the record, you also get a CD copy of it, so you don't have to actually play the record...even though I do have a working turntable. :)
After that will be Klea Blackhurst's live tribute to Ethel Merman cabaret CD, "Everything the Traffic Will Allow."

Well... Since I still had to purchase my plane ticket for my upcoming trip to Atlanta...
And wouldn't you know it? The fares dropped another $5.00 - and this was after United's "East Coast Fare Sale" ended yesterday. ???
Alas, no direct flights were left between NYC and ATL, but I don't mind the stopovers - if I have the time. I earn more miles that way. Alas, I'm connecting through Chicago O'Hare, so... And some of the connections are mighty tight. However, I made sure that there were enough subsequent flights each day just in case there are delays.
And now that I'm booked and ticketed...

Here's my contribution: Playbill.com has a very nice (and long) article about the real original Sandy in Grease, Carole Demas (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/105778.html)! I didn't know anything about her, especially this: that Carole "has the distinction of being the first actress to ever sing Stephen Schwartz's vocally demanding "Meadowlark" (in the Los Angeles premiere of The Baker's Wife), a song she often includes in her concert act."
Who knew?? :D

The trousers now fit! Yay! Hurray!
This morning the minister who will speak at the funeral came by to get our input on what we'd like for the service and to get stories about dad. He was a very kind young man, and I think the shebang will go well tomorrow.
I drove into town to pick up my trousers and run a few errands. On my way back I got distracted by the Macbeth's postbox which had a streamer hanging from it and I foolishly pulled into their driveway. Since it was too icy and narrow to drive backward, I drove down to their house, turned around and headed out, only to slide on the ice into a huge pile of snow and become stuck. That sent Lady M to the phone to call (3 times!) to ask Randy what I was doing and why I hadn't stopped in. As if he knew. I needed to get back and try on the pants, in case I had to go out and buy a suit!
So, I'm sitting there unable to move forward or back and my brother came out to check out the scene. He went away, and I thought, I'll leave the car here and walk back, when my brother showed up with a shovel and proceeded to dig me out. I told him to let me shovel and push and he could maneuver the car, but no, he insisted I get into the car, as the tension between us rose.
Just as my nephew Matt showed up to help, Tom got all ballistic screaming at me to go forward, go back, turn the wheels, etc. The gist is, I got out of my drift and got the car back to Randy's, feeling totally inept as a driver - which is almost true anyway - and a failure as a sensible human being. Tom called ten minutes later and apologized, Matt's comment to me was that was how he behaved on the job with the employees. Oy!
I did get a very lovely email from our DR Cason AKA Zubrick. He wants those boxers bad, I can tell. Oh, my BRain arrived today! I think I'll go up and play it along with DR Matthew's CD which arrived yesterday.

I began my afternoon with the show I normally watch at the end of Thursday evening off the DVR: CSI.
It continued the "miniature killer" storyline that's been a running one for most of this season, and even with an arrest last night, the storyline still isn't concluded. We haven't heard the last of this madman.
-
Next I watched last nigt's SMALLVILLE. A pretty good episode as things go with a person who can identify "meteor-infected" people being used by Lex to round up for folks for his dangerous experiments.
I don't think CHloe was infected. I think Clark passing by so fast in front of CHloe made it seem as if it were she that he was seeing. Clark doesn't think he's meteor-infected, but if he isn't, no one is.
-
Next, I watched the 1929 COQUETTE.
I can see some of the appeal for you, DR MBarnum, but I thought it was a really mediocre melodrama, even for the period in which it was made. (It might have been a bit more palatable if the time period had been in the 1860s rather than its being a modern film.)
Mary Pickford is about twenty years too old for the role she's playing, and while I wouldn't say it's the worst performance to ever win an Oscar, I wouldn't say it's worthy either. (I'd guess Ruth Chatterton's MADAME X was probably the most deserving, but I haven't seen all of the other nominees and have only seen excerpts of CHatterton's, but what I saw was much more impressive than Pickford's hammy emoting.)
The movie is exactly like you'd expect a 1929 movie to look and sound. There's a title card prior to the film that says it had been restored by UCLA, so that means the elements it had to work with must have been near-death. Much of the film is in very bad shape even after restoration.
Glad I saw it, but I'd never need to see it again.
-
I finished the afternoon with 30 ROCK, an only moderately amusing comedy last night with the staff taking advantage of Liz's wanting to be liked and Tracy embarrassing Jack at an exclusive country club. All pretty predictable, though there were two or three very funny lines.
-
I just read in VARIETY that Fox has renewed both HOUSE and BONES for next season. Yay!

I've just read that Cronenberg's "The Fly" is being made into an Opera bound for Paris and then LA. Perhaps all of the screen writer's contribution has been cast aside or swatted.

And most "unseamly"!

It continued the "miniature killer" storyline
It seems like that would be more appropriate for SMALLVILLE.

What I want to know, re: all the red food coloring: Does it manifest itself in any way AFTER you've consumed it?
Does it stain the teeth, the tongue?
Does it alter the color of anything the body rids itself of...later?
I don't know about red food coloring, but der Brucer and I love beets.
No, they don't stain the teeth or the tongue.
And yes, they alter the color of anything the body rids itself of... later.

Hello all from my new office computer!!! It arrived early and the UPS man was nice enough to take it down and load it in my car (which I had conveniently parked, hoping for just such an occurrence.
It's way cool. Not sure I particularly like Vista, but I don't really dislike it, other than the 10 million "Danger Will Robinson" pop-ups

So now I'm loading software. Microsoft finally figured out that I've loaded my Office 2003 in a couple of my own computers and won't let me authenticate it on this one. Luckily I have Wordperfect Suite and it reads Word documents, so I'm considering going without it

Today, I finally finished Liz Callaway's chart, which was 40 pages for full symphony orchestra. I then listened to the numbers I need to do fro Kevin, and after that, I played the complete Brain for the first time (my rough mix was missing "Saucers in the Sky"). Boy, it sounds good! I laughed, I chuckled, I boogied during the Entr'Acte. It's the first moment of real joy I've had in a week and it felt wonderful. I love The Brain From Planet X!!!!

Oh look Post 6900..only 100 to go to a 000 post

Things were slightly crazy at work today. Lots of shoppers getting ready for the three-day weekend. And lots of shoppers wanting cash back, instead of going to the bank. I don't think I had more than five twenties in my drawer all day! I'd get some in, and out they'd go again.
And what is it with people coming in with hundred dollar bills, and buying less than ten dollars worth of stuff? Like I'm supposed to be impressed because they're waving hundred dollar bills around? Seen 'em before, honey. That doesn't make you rich.

I had quite a good time at the show. I knew quite a few people there, but the best thing was finally, at long last, meeting Mr. Bert I. Gordon in person. As most of you know, I'm responsible for having gotten him to finally do the show, and when I arrived at eleven he had quite a few people at his table and he seemed to be having a good time. I introduced myself and we had a nice chat.

I wandered the room from pillar to post, and saw the likes of Pee Wee Herman (Paul Reubens - he had a big line all day long), my pal Lynne Stewart (who played Miss Yvonne on Pee Wee's Playhouse - fellow LACC alum), Julie Newmar, Gogi Grant, Nastasia Kinski (huge line all day - she doesn't really even look like she used to), Tonya Harding (sitting directly behind Mr. Gordon), David Ankrum (Totally Hidden Video alum, but more importantly, the fellow who played Adam in the second Tabitha pilot and then series - so both Adams were in the room today), Pat Carroll (arrived very late - I'll say hey tomorrow), Bill (Jose Jimenez) Dana, Francine York, Sally Struthers, Adam West and Burt Ward, Jane Russell, Rick Lenz, John Kerr, Neile McQueen Toffell, June Kenny, and many others I'm not remembering. Oh, yes, Mariette Hartley, Edd "Kookie" Byrnes, Joe Turkel. The ubiquitous Chuck McCann was wandering the room saying hey to his pals, as was Gary Owens.

We watched the hummingbirds and we noticed that the caterpillar made himself into a chrysalis today.
It takes a village and all that.

I saw many of my dealer friends and did a little trading with them, which is always fun. At six-thirty, Mr. B.I.G., his eighteen year old daughter Christina, and I will be supping at Genghis Cohen. At dinner I will broach the idea of a little project I have that I'm hoping will interest him.

Did MBarnum ever get an answer about why the review button isn't on the Brain page?

I just heard that Ray Evans died. I'm very sad.
I'm glad we got to interview him a few months ago. He was amazingly sharp and I was looking forward to being able to talk to him more, but it's not to be.

Hit songwriter Ray Evans dies at 92
Ray Evans, whose long collaboration with songwriting partner Jay Livingston produced a string of hits that included the Oscar-winning "Buttons and Bows," "Mona Lisa" and "Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)," has died. He was 92.
Evans, who teamed up with Livingston in the late 1930s, died of an apparent heart attack at UCLA Medical Center on Thursday evening, Frederick Nicholas, Evans' lawyer and the trustee of his estate, said today.
Considered among Hollywood's greatest songwriters, Livingston and Evans wrote songs for dozens of movies, most of them at Paramount, where they were under contract from 1945 to 1955.
With Livingston providing the melodies and Evans writing the lyrics, the team wrote 26 songs that reportedly sold more than 1 million copies each.
"Ray Evans, along with his late partner Jay Livingston, gave us some of the most enduring songs in the great American songbook," lyricist Alan Bergman told The Times today. "We will miss him but know that his songs will live on."
In addition to their three Oscar-winning songs, Livingston and Evans earned four other Oscar nominations — for "The Cat and the Canary" from "Why Girls Leave Home" (1945); "Tammy," sung by Debbie Reynolds in "Tammy and the Bachelor" (1957); "Almost in Your Arms" from "Houseboat" (1958), and "Dear Heart" from the movie of the same name (1964).
"Dear Heart," with lyrics credited to Livingston and Evans and music by Henry Mancini, became a big hit for Andy Williams.
"I just loved the record I made of 'Dear Heart,'." Williams told The Times today. "Livingston and Evans were really part of the generation of songwriters that I loved, and I sang a lot of their songs over the years. I wasn't as close to them like I was to Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, but I certainly recognized their talent and how good they were at their craft of putting out great songs."
Among Livingston and Evans' songs, which reportedly have sold a total of nearly 500 million copies, is the Christmas standard "Silver Bells." Introduced in the 1951 Bob Hope-Marilyn Maxwell comedy "The Lemon Drop Kid," "Silver Bells" is said to have been recorded by nearly 150 artists and has sold more than 160 million copies.
The songwriting duo also wrote the memorable themes for the TV series "Bonanza" and "Mr. Ed."
"Ray had a great ear for language, for the vernacular, which is something he had in common with many of the great lyricists," singer-pianist Michael Feinstein, who in 2002 released an album devoted to the Evans and Livingston songbook, told The Times a few years ago.
"He was able to distill a mood or a feeling into a song without it sounding clichéd," Feinstein said. "He did not consider himself a sophisticated writer, but he knew how to express the thoughts, feelings and emotions of the common man in an eloquent way."
The son of a secondhand paper, string and burlap dealer, Evans was born in Salamanca, N.Y., on Feb. 4, 1915.
After graduating from high school, where he played clarinet in the school band and served as valedictorian, Evans earned a degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
While at the university, he met Livingston, a journalism major from Pennsylvania who had studied piano as a child. Evans joined Livingston's band, which played college dances and parties, and during school vacations they played together on cruise ship bands.
After graduating in 1937, Evans and Livingston continued to work on cruise ships before moving to New York City, where they began their songwriting collaboration.
They had their first success in 1941 when their song "G'Bye Now" was incorporated into Olsen and Johnson's zany Broadway revue "Hellzapoppin'." and landed on "Your Hit Parade."
In 1944, the two songwriters came out to Hollywood, where they had a hit with Betty Hutton's recording of "Stuff Like That There."
They earned their first Oscar nomination with "The Cat and the Canary." Under contract to Paramount, the duo wrote one of the biggest hits of 1946: the title song for the Olivia de Havilland movie "To Each His Own," the basic framework of which began with Evans' phrase "two lips must insist on two more to be kissed."
For one week in 1946, five versions of "To Each His Own" were listed on Billboard's Top 10 list, with recordings by Eddy Howard (No. 1), Tony Martin, Freddy Martin, the Modernaires and the Ink Spots.
Livingston and Evans picked up their first Oscar for the bouncy "Buttons and Bows," which was introduced by Bob Hope in the 1948 comedy western "The Paleface" and was recorded by Dinah Shore, among others.
While at Paramount, the songwriting duo even made a cameo appearance playing themselves in Billy Wilder's 1950 classic "Sunset Boulevard."
Although they were born only six weeks apart, Livingston and Evans were "not the least bit alike," Evans told The Times in 1985.
"I'm nuts about sports, play baseball and tennis every weekend. Jay couldn't care less. He's restrained and quiet. I'm more outward going. Jay is a marvelous musician. I have a tin ear."
But, he said, "Our tastes are similar, and we both like good music and song."
The Oscar-winning "Mona Lisa," which they wrote for "Captain Carey, U.S.A.," a 1950 drama starring Alan Ladd, remained Evans' favorite song.
The song originally was called "Prima Donna," but they changed the title at the suggestion of Evans' wife, Wyn, who thought "Mona Lisa" sounded much nicer.
In the movie, the song is sung by a blind Italian street singer to send a signal to Italian partisans during World War II and is heard only in fragments.
But Evans and Livingston felt that if they could play the song for Nat King Cole, they might be able to convince him to record it.
"So Paramount Studio, who owned the song, pulled some strings and [Cole] allowed us to come to his home and play it for him, in 1950," Evans recalled in a 1993 interview with the Buffalo News. "He recorded it, and in 1951 Capitol Records decided not to release it. They said it wouldn't ever be a hit."
Capitol eventually used the song, but only as the flip side of a Cole single the record company felt would become a hit, "The Greatest Inventor of Them All."
"Eventually, we had the last laugh," said Evans. "Mona Lisa" became an enormous hit. "It was so different and so unusual," Evans said. "It's hardly ever dropped in popularity and it's given me a lot of credit and ego."
Livingston and Evans also made television history when they wrote the songs for the first 90-minute color television "spectacular," "Satins and Spurs," starring Betty Hutton, on NBC in 1954.
After leaving Paramount to work as freelancers in 1955, Livingston and Evans won their third Oscar for "Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)," which was sung by Doris Day in Alfred Hitchcock's 1956 thriller "The Man Who Knew Too Much."
The duo also wrote the music and lyrics for two Broadway musicals, "Oh Captain!" in 1958 (a Tony nominee for best musical) and "Let It Ride" in 1961. And in 1979, two of their songs were included in the hit Broadway revue "Sugar Babies."
In later years, the songwriting team provided special material for Bob Hope and charity shows.
In 1993, Evans returned to Salamanca, N.Y., which renamed a Main Street theater in his honor. Then 78, Evans told the Buffalo News that he no longer wrote songs. Popular tastes had changed drastically since his and Livingston's heyday, he acknowledged. "There's no way we are going to be heard," he said.
But there was no denying the staying power of Livingston and Evans songs. The year before he and Livingston and their publisher each made $400,000 off the royalties from past hits.
But while they no longer had the "economic pressure" to continue writing, he said, "you don't live on bread alone. There's the excitement and fun that you miss."
After Livingston died in 2001 at age 86, Evans wrote a few songs with other collaborators. But, according to Feinstein, "He said it was a strange experience after being teamed with Jay for over 60 years."
Evans, whose wife died in 2003, is survived by his sister, Doris Feinberg.

RIP Ray...
-
I'm late!! Off to usher! Until later!
-
Thank you for the Bio DR Edisauras.
Thank you for those wonderful songs Mr Evans.
-
I have always loved Livingston and Evans. Around the time I recorded Prime Time Musicals, which had a couple of really lesser-known Livingston and Evans tunes from two obscure musicals written for TV, I got a call from Ray thanking me for recording the songs and asking if I was interested in doing a Livingston and Evans album, which, of course, I was. I couldn't persuade the powers that be that such a thing would sell and soon thereafter I left Varese and started the other label. And then Michael Feinstein took the idea and did an album, which, sadly, isn't very good and is just piano accompaniment. I wanted to do it the Kimmel way, with a full orchestra and wonderful B'way singers.
-
I suppose I shall now shower.
-
Okay, everyone, favorite Livingston and Evans songs - top o' my list - Whatever Will Be, Will Be.
-
Um, I don't know that I know any Livingston and Evans songs. I probably do, but I can't name any.

Good Evening!
So... I had dinner at Pietrasanta earlier tonight with former DR Jason. When I asked what the specials were... "We have a Heart-Shaped Duck Ravioli... A Heart-Shaped Pumpkin Ravioli.... " -Heart-Shaped? Guess they didn't sell that much on Valentine's Day.
In any case, what we did end up ordering - Chicken Parmesan and Gnocchi con Funghi - was very good. And the bread was particularly tasty tonight, surprisingly so.

MR BK - you wrote June Kenney - did you mean June Wilkinson, or did the elusive Ms Kenney finally show her face after all these years?
I think he meant Laura June Kenny...a one time Little Rascal who was scheduled for the show. Not to be confused with June Kenney, star of Attack of the Puppet People.
At least I hope that is who it was. Otherwise I will be in Burbank on the morning plane.

Will we never get to page eight?
The Magic-8 Ball says:
"Most assuredly!"

Larry, if your story of getting stuck in Tom’s driveway was a scene out of a movie it could be very funny. I fear he continues to exhibits shades of my sister’s behavior. I pray he never goes that far, and he did apologize.
Cilla is correct, getting stuck could have happened to anyone. I think you were just humiliated because it happened at your brother’s house, boy do I know what that feels like. Did you ever tell him why you pulled into the driveway?
-
DR RLP - I am very happy for your entry into the HD AGE....I will follow eventually.
Don't wait too long.
And HURRY! It's lovely "up" here!
Watched "South Pacific" this afternoon. GASP! It's like I'd never seen it before.
I was even bedazzled by the color filters, so glorious was the photography. The detail is amazing.
Why on earth did I ever think watching letterboxed films on my 19" Sony was sufficient?
I'm looking forward to tonight's broadcast of "Ghost Whisperer".
-
DR Elmore: You are in inspiration to all of us for your aplomb and openness about your father's passing.
Do give yourself so private time, if you can find any. You need to process, even though you've been expecting this for some time.
As for the MacBeth's: F**k 'em!

DR RLP, sounds like you are having a fabulous time with your HD. Congrats

Now that page 8 is a done deal, dare I suggest that page 9 is a certainty to follow?

BK, now that you are going through another Ozu period, have you come across this film?

DR RLP, sounds like you are having a fabulous time with your HD. Congrats
Thanks, Cilla!
I have so many films I want to watch on this screen I hardly know where to begin. I had been impressed, however, with the way "South Pacific" looked in its remastered form on the recent DVD issue and craved to know whether I'd be blown away seeing it on a larger plasma screen.
I was. I urge everyone who has toyed with the idea to go ahead and take the plunge. It's so TOTALLY worth it!

Hit songwriter Ray Evans dies at 92
Evans, whose wife died in 2003, is survived by his sister, Doris Feinberg.
Thank you, EDI.
-
DR Elmore - maybe your brother would like to come and yell at whoever abandoned their H-U-G-E van in the snowbank right in front of our house. It's been there since Tuesday morning and I'm about to call the non-emergency police number to see if they can find out who it belongs to.
-
About to finish listening to Act 1 of The brain from planet. Brings back fond memories of the show. I tried to post a review on Amazon but because its in preorder I don't think we are allowed. But its a gas!
-
Larry, if your story of getting stuck in Tom’s driveway was a scene out of a movie it could be very funny.
I did tell him when he came out to see why I was stuck. It's Lady M who's a moron.
-
elmore-LOL. So were they black streamers?
-
DRLaura-I miss having a bird feeder by the window. We had to remove ours as the birds were flying into the window, it was terrible. They still hit the windows, just not as often.
'night.
-
DR Elmore: You are in inspiration to all of us for your aplomb and openness about your father's passing.
Do give yourself so private time, if you can find any. You need to process, even though you've been expecting this for some time.
As for the MacBeth's: F**k 'em!
DR RonPulliam, that was very sweet. Thank you. I never was certain whether Iwas guilty of TMI, but it was what was occupying my days. I had been dragging you all along with me from the surgery and diagnosis last March/April, and it seemed natural, since everyone was so kind and supportive, to continue the saga to its conclusion.
Believe me, as soon as this estate is pulled together and I can get back to NYC, I'm going into hiding for a self-indulgent week of DVDs, reading, and CDs. I've also been thinking about a piece I want to write for my dad, so I need to do a bit of choral networking to see if any chorus is interested in premiering it when it's finished.
your raving about SOUTH PACIFIC - a film I always loved - makes me want to see it again.
-
elmore-LOL. So were they black streamers?
I still have no idea what the hell is hanging from their postbox! Sure caught my attention, though!
-

Can you have it towed ;)
-

You'll have to drive by again and take a look ;D
-
Well the weather outside is frightful, but it's supposed to get better by morning. I'm going to wait until noonish or later to head up to my parents' house. Then we're joining my brother's entire family for dinner before going to the theater to see Samantha in Little Shop of Horrors. Should be lots of fun
-
FJL, Sorry about your neighbor.
-
Cillaliz-Congrats on the new office computer!
Thanks Jane, this makes is so much easier to start getting the software I need for my practice
-
46 is so very young. How very sad. I love the Steel Pier recording and Mr McDonald's performance of the songs. Thank you for letting us know DR FJL.
-
PLAN FROM PLANET X ARRIVED TODAY!!!
Plan from Brain X arrived in my mailbox! We're listening to it now!
Larry, your arrangements are awesome---I know I keep saying this but one cannot say it enough!
-
I must say that when I'm working on The Brain, it appears on the monitors in the machine room. The boys seem to be quite fascinated with Alet, and no wonder!
-
Ray Evans seems to have had a fascination with Jose. In '46, he wrote HEY, JOSE, and the following year, HO HO JOSE.
DR Jose, is there something you'd like to tell us? :-)
-
DR FJL, that's quite sad...and he was half Ray Evan's age. Too young!
-
Here's a link to the Playbill article about Daniel McDonald

I've also been thinking about a piece I want to write for my dad, so I need to do a bit of choral networking to see if any chorus is interested in premiering it when it's finished.
What a nice idea!
-
I listened to the first six cuts of THE BRAIN on the way to my dinner engagement. Very sprightly; lots of fun, and excellent singers.
-
Will we never get to page eight?
Good things happen to those who wait.
-
So very sad to read about Daniel McDonald. He was in a MURDER SHE WROTE episode as a young actor played a spoiled teenager (he was probably in his 20s at the time of filming) with Jean SImmons as his mother. Have loved him ever since.
I had tickets to STEEL PIER, but it closed before I could get to NYC. I did get to see him in HIGH SOCIETY, a poor show, but he was one of the bright lights of the production.
-
Favorite Livingstone and Evans:
"Silver Bells" and "Mona Lisa." I'd have put "Dear Heart," but I so associate it with Mancini.
-
It thrills me no end to read DR Ron's enthusiasm for his HDTV. I would hate to play up something as much as I do only to have someone get it and say, "well, it's OK, but it's not all it's cracked up to be."
-
We started the evening watching MAN VS. WILD on the Discovery Channel. Explorer/naturalist/survivalist Bear (oops, forgotten his last name) parachuted into the Alps and spent days trying to survive. The show has him putting himself into desperate survival situations each episode and showing how he makes everyday items into life saving pieces of equipment, and how he can live off the land under the harshest of circumstances. A pretty fascinating show that I had never seen before.
-
My friend John likes Natalie Portman a lot, but he had never seen CLOSER, so I showed him her strip sequence from that film. We watched it twice.
-
Then we watched V FOR VENDETTA which he also hadn't watched in its entirety. I wasn't sure whether he'd like it or not, but he said he liked it very much. I certainly think the film is full of ideas and good intentions, and I enjoyed my third time seeing it.

And I hope he will get hooked on the HiDef version of THE CLOSER!
-
I'm off to bed now.
Good night!
-
Ray Evans favorites: Silver Bells, Theme from Mr. Ed, Que Sera Sera, Hey, Punchinello, Once Upon A Horse, Tammy, Dear Heart and of course, the theme to Bonanza!
He said that he and Jay wrote "The Cat and The Canary" when they were trying to write a Johnny Mercer-style song.
Our producer had just seen Ray 2 weeks ago out in LA at a Mercer Foundation meeting and said he was doing great, so it must have been pretty sudden. Not a bad way to go, at 92.
-
Ginny - Thanks for posting the link
-
Elmore. I think that was an lovely thing that you did including your dad's girlfriend...I am glad your pants fit and I hope that the service tomorrow brings out the best in the McBeths (is there any?)
ANYONE can slide intot a snowdrift...I suspect little bro wanted to dig becasue he knew he would be no more skilled at maneuvering on ice that you...
-
Edi thanks for the obit... I have alwayd loved Silver Bells and Mona Lisa
-
FJL my sympathies on the loss of your friend... much too young....
-
Did DR Sandra eat any plates today?
-
I need to wait for my next paycheck before I visit the Kritzerland site, the car insurance, the cable bill and the phone bill just came due.....
-
Friday is bring-your-lunch-to-school day, so there were lots of lunchboxes, but no plates. I am not eating my lunchbox.

chicken!
;D
-
We had a crier again. It was Quan this time. He calmed down after I said "dinosaur" to him.
And I'm not sure, but I think he might have said "tuchus" during lunch. It was hard to tell because his mouth was full of potato chips. (MY potato chips!)
-
Did you little Quan (is that the right name?) learned any more English words? Have you learned any of his language?
-
You answered my question before I posted it!!
I shall add mindreading/ESP to the lsit of your many talents
-
obvioulsy typing ois still not one of mine
-
Friday is bring-your-lunch-to-school day, so there were lots of lunchboxes, but no plates. I am not eating my lunchbox.
Ray Evans also wrote: "I'll Eat My Hat".
-
and I thik you were very generous to share your potato chips... I never share potato chips unless they belong to someone else
you can't eat just one...
-
As best as I can remember, I've heard Quan say six English words and possibly one Yiddish word.
Dinosaur
Frog
No!
Sponge Bob
Fish feet
Okay
Tuchus

Back from a lovelier than lovely dinner with Mr. Bert I. Gordon and his deelightful daughter, Christina. We spoke of many things, including what I thought would be a great project for him - and he has been thinking the same thing, so we'll see if we can make it happen.
-
I've written amazon about the review thing - Deceit, which I just listed and which is in preorder (I had to put a street date of next Tuesday) has the review button. Anyway, for those who will be kind enough to write reviews, please go ahead and write them and save them, then as soon as the button appears, you can post.

~~~~~VIBES FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN~~~~~~~~~~
-
It never ceases to amaze me how great the food is at Genghis Cohen.
-
oooh! page 10!!
-
I bring a bag of potato chips with my sammints every Friday and I can't remember the last time I actually got to eat one.
-
I bought a nice fresh box of Milk Duds and I'm eating them as I type this.
-
Will we never get to page eleven?
-
Nice teacher!
-
Apparently, the biggest hit of the show today was Pee Wee Herman.
-
Will we never get to page eleven?
never satisfied... nag.. nag... nag... :-*
-
Apparently, the biggest hit of the show today was Pee Wee Herman.
I remember seeing all those "Free Pee Wee Herman" T Shirts years ago when he overenthusaistically expressed his appreciation of a film in a public theatre in Florida...
-
He's put on a bit of weight, but he was wearing his signature suit.
-
David Landers (Squiggy) was there - I saw him the other day at Art's Deli. He doesn't look so good, but I think he's had some real health problems. Sally Struthers was there, still quite heavy.
-
Phyllis Coates was there, too.
Re, June Kenney - I'm only going by what Joe Turkel said to Bert Gordon - that June was there.
-
what did you eat at Ghengis Chan?
-
I don't think I had more than five twenties in my drawers all day!
Sounds like the sad lament of an inadequate Chippendale dancer!
der Brucer
-
BK, tomorrow Diana Darrin will be at the Courts show...you must go and say hello to her.
-
The title of the Ozu movie, if it didn't show up, is DRAGNET GIRL and it was made in 1933. I may watch it tomorrow.
-
Tonight I watched a Hong Kong movie titled SISTER LONG LEGS...it was a cute little comedy and starred the dashing Roy Chiao.
-
I 'm very tired I'm going to sleep now
good night all
-
Now I am watching my first weekend Bollywood movie, SAGAAI (1967)...and it is putting me to sleep...hopefully it will get better...Oh, Helen is just about to dance.
(http://www.indiaweekly.com/dvdImages/b9450.jpg)
Actually it isn't a bad movie, in fact it is rather funny...it is just that I am very tired and sleepy.
-
Im tired
-
I didn't eat anything at Genghis Chan. At Genghis Cohen I ate Orange Chicken, Green Beans, Crackerjack Shrimp, Moo Shoo Pork, Garlic Chicken and rice. I am, in fact, quite full.
-
mmm sounds good I want it!
I had second rate thai food.
-
I woke up sick from having done yardwork this afternoon.
-
I remember seeing all those "Free Pee Wee Herman" T Shirts years ago when he overenthusaistically expressed his appreciation of a film in a public theatre in Florida...
It was an adult theater playing an adult film; the X-rated film Nurse Nancy, as I understand. I think it was unfair that he was able to get out of the punishment and got his record cleared, but there were probably ten other men doing the same thing in the theater every day.
-
I'm quite full.
-
How can we still be on page ten?
-
Welcome four GUESTS. Who are you people? Well, it's not like I don't know.
-
46 is so very young. How very sad. I love the Steel Pier recording and Mr McDonald's performance of the songs. Thank you for letting us know DR FJL.
:( I loved the Steel Pier CD, also. And it's very sad that he died with such young children.
-
And since we're so close...
-
Today, my copies of The Brain From Planet X and Joan's CD arrived!!
(But I thought that Joan's CD would be autographed too. ::))
-
Will we never get to page eleven?
And here we are!!
;D
