Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written both like and on the wind, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they've certainly been gone with the wind.
-
And the word of the day is: JUVENESCENT!
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
I ate something interesting whilst writing the notes - a Klondike bar, but not an ordinary Klondike bar - no, this was a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Klondike bar. Not great, but not bad. Perhaps I'll eat another right now.
-
I'm glad Depp's little girl is alright :)
-
goodnight everyone
-
I'm watching an episode of "Psych" that I recorded on my DVR, but I keep forgetting to fast-forward through the commercials. Dopey me.
-
Good night, Adriana.
-
And now, it's time for me to go to sleep. Good night, BK...and guests. :)
-
I'm a tea drinker mostly. I do not however drink teabag tea if I can avoid it. At home it is always leaf tea - I have a preference for Orange Peko as a variety but also like Assam and Breakfast teas.
I drink coffee - black or with milk - with or without sugar. I do not care for "flavoured" coffees. It seems pointless to me!
At times I enjoy an "infusion" such as chamomile.
I do enjoy red wines if "smooth" and white wines if not sweet. I do not care for spirits and think liqueurs should be used as paint strippers. A glass of port is enjoyable at times.
-
I like the Four Aces' version of "Written On The Wind'.
-
I wonder if DR Cillaliz has ever been winded by the writs.
-
Good Morning to myself since I'm here alone at 7:19 am
-
I saw Prelude to a Kiss last night. Although it was not as wonderful as the original Off-Broadway production, it's still a lovely, touching and, IMHO, beautiful piece. It's very well done. John Mahoney has a great moment in the second act with a monologue about moving from youth to age and finally passing away. I don't think the show is selling well since it's on TDF all the time. Oh, well. I'm very glad I got to see it.
-
And now I will take leave to do the obvious.
-
La de DAH de dah dah!
I had a terrible dream last night in which Andrea McCardle played Mama Rose in GYPSY at a Houston Theatre.
Whew! I was also dumb enough to look at the "You Gotta Have a Gimmick" clip that was also on YOUTUBE.
-
Sad about the ousted designer on TOP DESIGN, but life goes on. The Goil breakdown was NOT caused by the person I imagined....which makes it even sadder.
-
I like tea. I don't like coffee.
I like tea with sugar and lemon. Diet Pepsi is my favorite carbonated drink. It used to be Diet Dr Pepper, but the two liter bottles of that drink ALWAYS foamed over when I opened them...ALWAYS!!
-
MR BK thanks for the CUTTIN' UP report. It has been many years since I was in a barber shop, so for me it would be like visiting a foreign country.
-
At last!!!
Check out volume one. Although there are pleasures on each of them.
June 25!! ;D

SPOILERS.

I was overall happy with the bottom 2. Although i wish sanjaya had gone home. I am afraid though that this was our chance to get him out. I think his supporters thought he was safe. And now they will vote for him more.
It was interesting how Idol tricked us. Didn't you all think it would be haley in the bottom 3? Even though we all sanjaya is bad and it seemed obvious it SHOULD be him. I thought he would be safe.
It is interesting to see that the bottom 3 were all guys.
And i agree i like phil.
I was surprised that Chris S is so popular. I mean i knew that he was popular but i thought his sucky performance would put him in the B3.

And the word of the day is: JUVENESCENT!
Casey would waltz
With a JUVENESCENT blonde,
Making the strawberry blonde quite jealous
As she accused him of being a cradle robber.

Off to work.

Neither der Brucer nor I drink coffee any more.
He drinks tea.
I like black cherry soda.

TOD:
I do not like exotic drinks--too sweet. Maybe an occasional martguerita. My preferred drink is a heady bourbon or scotch. But I can go for a beer or ale, too.

Good morning, all! I would like to see PRELUDE TO A KISS, but I first want to see JOURNEY'S END. Today, I have a trek to Toyland, and then a jaunt to the NYPL music collection to look at the new University of Chicago volumes from the new Rossini and Verdi editions and the new Kurt Weill Edition. That should while away part of my afternoon. I've been waiting for some legal forms to arrive from the attorney, and if they arrive I have a trip to the post office to send the signed copies back, and that should be the extent of my day.
TOD: I prefer diet ginger ale with a bit of cranberry juice, and I drink 2-4 cups of coffee in the morning with a bit of honey and a lot of milk. I detest both flavor and smell of "flavored" coffees. I like a Starbucks cafe latte and I think Dunkin Donuts has great coffee.
-
TOD-
Like some others here, I neither drink, nor drink coffee or tea.
Occasionally, if other adults are drinking, I'll order tonic water with bitters. It's as delicate as a gazelle in a wind storm.
-
Thanks, Singdaw.
I am writing the suggestions down, and then I'll check into all of them.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... and with some time to spare as it were, so...
-
So, after checking the weather, it seems I will have to head out today with a light jacket, an umbrella, plus another layer, my scarf, and earmuffs for later tonight. The projected high today is supposed to be 62 with thunderstorms forecasted for this afternoon, but then a winter storm warning has been put up for tonight, so... I guess Ole Man Winter ain't dont yet.
-
TOD: I like coffee. I like Starbucks coffee because it is STRONG. I like Good Earth tea, iced. I haven't had a cocktail since I became a mom.
-
I haven't had a cocktail since I became a mom.
I would think that would be when one would start needing one. ;)
-
Today's weather forecast: 91F.
-
As for the Topic of the Day...
I basically like anything with an umbrella in it. And, sadly, the sweeter the better. However, my favorite semi-exotic drink is a Dark & Stormy, but only if it's made properly with Jamaican Rum and Ginger Beer - not Ginger Ale, it really needs that kick and bite from a good dose of ginger that's found in Ginger Beer (which is non-alcoholic itself). i went through a Long Island Iced Tea phase a couple of years ago... And then there was the Baltimore Zoo (which was served with a sidecar of beer)... And there was one place I went to that used to serve New Orleans Iced Tea - those were quite good, and I could never quite pinpoint what was in it, but maybe that was the point.
-
-Otherwise, I'm usually just a Tanqueray & Tonic man nowadays.
-
As for coffees... I don't drink it regularly, but I have found myself lately drinking it more often. Flavored coffees are OK, but I usually go for a mocha so that I can get a partial chocolate fix at the same time.
As for teas... Lots of green teas. And Stash makes an amazing Blueberry Tisane, as well as a Licorice One too that I like.
-
A propos yesterday's nefarious Gypsy clip, so courteously provided by DR Ben...
What other classic stage numbers have you seen abused by a directorial conceit gone awry?
-
BK - Did you at least like the "soundtrack" the director picked out for Cuttin' Up? ;)
-From your report, it sounds like that not much work was done on the piece since it premiered in DC a few years ago. It felt like a slightly too long evening back then too. And since some of those stories came from D.C. barber shops, editing some of them down was a bit "tricky" from what I remember. But I do have to give Charles some cred for keeping his work out there. -I'm just wondering if anything is still happening with Senor Discretion Himself? -He directed the latest incarnation at Arena. I know Pasadena was looking at it, but I believe it was dropped from their schedule.
-
In any case... Time for me to gather up my various protectors from the elements and head down to Chelsea...
Laters...
-

Although there is a core of people who love the show, I wholeheartedly nominate the entire dreadful (IMHO) production of Company, currently running on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. It is directorial conceit at the highest level. I can't single out a number, everything has been twisted and attacked to fit the director's idea.
-
For you coffee drinkers in case you haven't heard, Starbucks (http://www.starbucks.com/ourcoffees/coffee_break.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1) is giving away a free 12 oz cup of coffee today between 10:00 am and noon.
What I mean is, they are not giving a cup of coffee away--I'm sure that means one cup per person.

Thursday morning greetings! After our two summer-like days (what happened to spring?), we've had lots of rain in the last 12 hours and now it's cold, cold, cold.
Neither of my managers is here (one called in sick, the other comes in at noon), so the 3 secretaries, whose desks are between mine and the managers', are chit-chatting up a storm. Might be time for the ol' iPod.

With this crew? It would make the "Rose's Turn" we saw yesterday look like a Tony winner ::)
-
I don't have the picture here on my office computer any more but when we went to England in 2003 we ate dinner at a place around the corner from our flat and I had many servings of "spotted dick" Anthony took a picture to attest to that fact. I may have posted it after our return but that was in early 2004 and I'm sure the picture has been purged by now.
-
Hmmm...the spotted dick mysteriously moved off the shelf and is now on the counter.

I look at the photos of the production, with men in suits, ladies in evening dress, all carrying their instruments. It looks like a social night at Local 802 with all the unemployed musicians who used to play in orchestra pits!

I have one word: penicillin.

It cried out for better lighting...

My favorite drink right now is diet green tea. I keep hearing it's good for you. But I also hear that that's a myth and that it can actually dehydrate you. But I do like it.

DR SINGDAW - there is NO play or musical that cannot be ruined by a wrongheaded director and/or choreographer. Usually said play or musical stars or features a relative or "friend" of said director or choreographer.
I have seen such productions of MY FAIR LADY, GREASE (granted not so hot to begin with), STEEL MAGNOLIAS, BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, and so many others.
And I have been onstage in a few as well.
-
I am wearing a brown suede shirt that suddenly looks green here at work.
But that's okay because the brown pants I am wearing look green as well.
-
Ya know, I used to believe that GYPSY was the one show that was director proof. But I guess I was wrong. Dead wrong.
-

DR JRand56, I am sure you are right.
Oh, the hubris!

I do that all the time, too. The perils of dressing in the dark.
Or perhaps you've acquired one of those fancy dancy color-shifting garments?

DR Elmore - remember Auntie Mame :P ? Overpopulated with relatives and friends...
-
I think I would like to add my own "touch" to the YouTube "Rose's Turn"--a huge shadow of a woman projected on the upstage wall (a la Charlemagne in PIPPIN) to give Rose the impetus to start stuttering "Ma-ma-mama! Ma-ma-ma-ma-mama!"
Either that, or a woman who flies across the stage like Fruma Sarah to achieve the same effect.

Good Morning

AND...
Have the chorus come back at the end of the number for a rousing, sock-o finish. Jazz hands!

Good Morning

I guess I should clarify...
I meant the math genius part, not the crazy part.

I have not yet developed a taste for Coffee, Tea or liquor, and I am not sure I would ever like too. Artificial uppers do not appeal to me,and I do not like the taste. I think people ( like my friends) who need to have their grande coffee with a double expresso shot or iced chocolate mocha on a beautiful sunny afternoon for 3.50 a drink need to seriously re-evaluate their lives. But thats just me...
3.50 a day for 5 years is $6,387.50....and that does not include all the other drinks consumed by the avarage college student.
-

I think this idea is STUNNING, and it tops the lightning effect that Miss Mazeppa had when she played her trumpet....although the lighted lariat for Miss Electra certainly comes close.
-
I do that all the time, too. The perils of dressing in the dark.

I am not sure....I am in the office right now and everything is brown again! ;D

Me too. :-\

Just search the name of a musical and YOUTUBE and you can usually find several atrocities....or at least crimes worthy of punishment.

I am in the office right now and everything is brown again!
In any office, everything is brown! :)

It has already come and gone.

Okay, now I've got to go watch that one too!

DR LAURA:
"Cain't Say No" is usually a show stopper
and there's always "Happy Talk" or "Wonderful Guy"
-
Okay, now I've got to go watch that one too!
As was written yesterday: You have been warned. ;D
-
In any office, everything is brown! :)
True true.
-
Good morning!
We're going to have a somewhat cooler day today than yesterday, and then the rain moves in tonight for a day or two. Oh, well, these spring temperatures are really nice. I'm sitting in my office right now with the window open right next to me, and the fresh air is wonderful.
-
But I guess I was wrong. Dead wrong.
Oh, he was dead, alright. As dead as a gazelle in a sausage factory.
-
Just read in USA TODAY that TCM will be showing three Betty Hutton films in honor of her this afternoon: THE STORK CLUB (which I've never seen), THE PERILS OF PAULINE (a public domain film now; I hope the TCM version looks decent so I can burn a DVD-R of it), and THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (ugh!)
-
I'm not much of an alcohol drinker either, but if I have it as a social drink, I prefer something sweet: Tom Collins, margarita, hurricane, daiquari.
If I go to a dinner and wine is served, I can usually drink a glass of it, but that's it.
I much prefer diet sodas, preferably Pepsi One if it can be found. That's what I'm drinking right now.
-
So today, I should be able to get to one of the hour long Lucy-Desi shows and maybe more depending on what comes in the mail today.
-
In addition to the new shows starting tonight (RAINES which I'll watch and OCTOBER ROAD which I won't), most shows are presenting new episodes tonight:
UGLY BETTY
the NBC comedies
GREY'S ANATOMY
SMALLVILLE
SUPERNATURAL
Back to another FULL evening of TV.
-
Page Four Sirius Black and Lupin Dance!!!
-
Oh, meant to mention that Andy Richter's new NBC comedy comes on tonight in the 30 ROCK timeslot. Looked kind of cute, so I'll have the DVR pick it up, too.

TOD -
My name is Ginny (Hello, Ginny) and I'm a coffee addict.
From my first cup in the American Airlines waiting area at LaGuardia in 1967, I've been a morning coffee drinker. At first, I drank it with sugar, but when sugar prices went up in the early '70s, I went to black. Most flavored coffees appeal more to my nose than to my taste buds. Also like iced coffee with milk, but learned the hard way that powdered creamers do not work in iced drinks :P. As for the fou-fou Starbucks-type confections, I take mine nonfat - vanilla latte, pumpkin spice latte in autumn, and gingerbread latte around Christmas. No whipped cream, usually.
-
I think having three guys in the bottom three last night was a clear indication of where the talent lies with this edition of AMERICAN IDOL. The guys just don't have it though I find Phil better than he's been given credit for being, and certainly understand the appeal of Blake's and Chris Richardson's looks and potential marketability. I know that IDOL always keeps that in mind; how else to explain how some of these folks got into the semifinals.
-
A Miss Mazeppa who escaped from ROCKY HORROR--that's different.
Fortunately, I found this clip from Avenue Jew (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdwlG05InAY) to cleanse my palate. It's silly, but funny.
-
Last night's "Idol" Eviction:
SPOILER
I didn't see Brandon as one who would leave first, but he's certainly in the bottom of the mix for me and I feel no remorse over his departure. Neither he nor Sanjaya should have made the final cut, IMO. Sabrina should still be there and so should A.J.
That said, Sanjaya obviously has voters more interested in his survival on the show than they are in the goals of the show (finding the best singer) or what's good for Sanjaya (how much longer can his mincing about the stage and singing in a whispery, Wacko-Jacko voice avoid drawing screams derision?)
He's being made a fool of by the voters. I'm certain he and his family aren't seeing it in that light...yet. But how can he feel he belongs on that stage? THAT is what is beyond me.
-
I'm heading down now to clean up for my lunch out with friends.
WBBL.
-
DR MATT - my Lucy-Desi hasn't arrived. But may I suggest the Tallulah Bankhead OR Danny Thomas episodes!

Bye for now.

TOD:
I like my coffee black. Starbucks, Seattle's Best, 8 O'Clock Coffee, Dutch Bros are all good, but I am not particular. 2 to 4 cups is my norm
I don't drink tea as much as I used to but when I do I like a good green tea. Chai tea is pretty tasty also.
I don't drink alcoholic drings very often but when I do I will have a martini of some type or a scotch or whisky on the rocks.
-
Postings. :)

No hot chocolate lovers on this board?

Well, lookie there, a bunch of the HHW hotties online -- mornin' boys! Miss Naomi Dingdaw just signed off as I went to hit the button to post this so I had to change my greeting from mornin' boys and girlie!

TOD: Chai Tea hot with some milk (fancy-smancy name Latte..)
Never been a coffee drinker, but like fresh brewed tea (iced or hot) with lemon
But will settle for a diet Lipton green tea
Not much of a soft drink person, mainly drink water, especially with lime (or lemon)
But I will drink a medium Cherry Limeade from Sonic now and then
Banana Cream Milkshake from Sonic -- or plain ol' vanilla will do, too
Margarita on the rocks with salt
Pina Colada with (or without) an umbrella on top is always festive in the summer

Sure -- can't go wrong with chocolate -- but it has to be really cold weather wise... and with lots of whipped cream...

I was surprised that Chris S is so popular. I mean i knew that he was popular but i thought his sucky performance would put him in the B3.
Chris' "sucky performance"? Aside from the fact that he has the best voice among ALL the males, his performance was, to me, the LEAST "sucky" of all the men.
Sanjaya was a mincing fool; Blake was anything but good in that twitching, embarrassingly performed song. His vocals were, bar none, the weakest of the night, IMO...even compared to Sanjaya's wacko-jacko impersonation. Chris Richardson's vocals were on a par with Blake's...sadly lacking in range and projection.
Apart from Phil and Chris Sligh, the men are the bottom of the pile and very expendable in this SINGING COMPETITION.
The sooner America starts voting for talent rather than potential "dates", the sooner this competition will take on some credibility.
-
On the subject of coffee, an oldie but goodie about Miss Sylvia Miles: A possibly apocryphal story had a French waiter asking "How would you like your coffee, Miss Miles?" She supposedly responded "Well, I like my coffee like I like my men." The waiter reportedly said, with full French accent, "I'm very sorry, Miss Miles, but we don't have any gay coffee."

My darlin' cheeky monkey MusicGuy -- hope you and the rest of the Valley of the Sun inhabitants -- DR Laura and I assume DR Sandra is a Valley resident too -- don't toast today...stay in the shade and drink plenty of water...

Hey, I have an idea, let's get this to page 5 before I've got to scram...
-
Good morning all and assorted lovelies, studlys, nymphs, and sprites! (That should certainly be all-inclusive!)
I finally got a peak at this "Sanjaya" character yesterday on some TV "entertainment type" program. As I don't watch AI, I had never seen the lad. In the immortal words of Chandler Bing's girlfriend.....
.......OH.........MY..........GOD !!!
It really is unbelievable, and then about 10 seconds into the clip, in my mind I heard the unmistakable voice of dear Elmore saying.... "if he were any more effeminate, he'd ovulate!"
That is one of my 2 very favorite new sayings of this year... with the other being, (of course.........and in unison everyone...)
"Oh Arthur, you've eaten more meat than anyone else in this room."
-
And a good morning to the pixie-like DR Miss Karen (it must be where boo-key got that trait!)
Actually, this time of year, those heat numbers don't mean much because it is nice and mild in the morning, the "peak heat" doesn't happen until around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and then the late afternoon is already cooled down some and the evening is very mild. It really is one of the prettiest times of year here.
-

Ditto -- those two get my vote ....so far... (I want to hedge my bet with the year so young -- and with this crowd -- more classics are sure to appear...)...

I'm up, I'm up. A very good night's sleep with very peculiar dreams.

Way to go charming and winsome MusicGuy -- we're close to a page flip... just a few more posts...
-
Page 5 flip!
-
Lets' all do the Page 5 Flip!!
-
And a glorious good morning to dear Esteemed, cut up, mobile, Klondike-y, and buns-of-steel BK --
Your jaunt to Pasadena sounded fun last night, even though the play sounds like something that needs a lot more evolving.
-
Miss karen, you subtle siren-on-the-rocks.....see how you nabbed that page flip, just like a regular Sigfried & Roy !
-
I guess our GM will be asking "When will we ever get to Page 6?"
-
Okay, let's have more bad directorial touches in musical plays. Let us imagine a director/choreographer with a "vision" and let's imagine what they would do to some classic musicals and musical numbers - sort of a what if.
-
Jose, the song selection was okay but nothing spectacular.

I may not know how to make stuff dance across the screen, but I can put a misplaced icon into MusicGuy's quote and make it do wacky stuff...

...I'd love to see if we make it do page 6 (I'm confident that it's a given) but I am still working on discombobulating that list from the other day so no time to stay and play....

Catching up after working on House of Payne until 1AM. This line from last night's postings made me laugh:
"Japan came last in a 29-country study of sexual satisfaction"
No wonder Japan is unsatisfied!

DR Jose, from 2 days ago:
Thanks for the hotel recommendation. I'm going to check and see if they have anything available. Another one I noticed close by the theatre is the Larchmont. It involves sharing a bath but I don't mind (as long as it's not at the same time!)

Here's a question:
Why are there 935 registered users of this forum? Almost every day, some new "impossible-to-pronounce" name is at the top of the first page as a "new user."
We have less than a tenth of the registered users posting anything at all. More than 800 have NEVER posted a thing.
This is very, very odd.
-
And the word of the day is: JUVENESCENT!
Smells Like Teen Spirit, or something...
-
DtM - Doesn't the new commercial go "More Ovaltine Hot, Please" - can you imagine any real-life kid saying that?
-
TOD: My most essential morning ritual is a 3 shot skim latte from my local coffee roaster. My DH usually goes to fetch our coffee if I'm running late, which is almost always, and if he's not shooting, which would usually get him out the door way before our shop opens.
The only thing near the new house is Starbucks, so we will probably start making our own at that point. (Not that there's anything wrong with Starbucks...but...)
-
Morning all! Wish I could stay and play, but I have some cooking to do -- I know, I know -- Boo-Key cooking?!
I'll be prepping some dishes for a little get-together that Heather and I are having with a good couple friend of mine; then I am also making dinner for Heather since she is flying in this afternoon.
Speaking of which, I was going to ask all of you little HHW'ers for some good travel vibes for the chickadee!
Hope all of you have a wonderful day -- it's quite beautiful out here on the Western Front, as it has been the past week or so.
-
I guess it's more than just the coffee...it's the people we see every day, too.

This is very, very odd.
We've explained this several times - it has to do with the way Mr. Bakalor set up the software - when the notes are posted it sends out "pings" to other sites - I don't know what that means, but I've never liked the sound of it. So, apparently places that are getting pinged are having people register here all the time - I don't get it, frankly, and I find it ridiculous, but I don't think there's anything to be done about it at this point. Interestingly, it only really started happening in the last eight months.
-
I also have another 3 shot skim latte in the afternoon, when my minions run to Starbucks. I have very little needs but that is one, especially if I have an additional night session, like EVERY NIGHT THIS WEEK.

mornin' boys and girlie!
If I'm a girlie, do I have dispensation to have a goil breakdown? ;)

Favorite alcoholic drinks:
Good red wine, champagne
margaritas (salt & on the rocks) gin and tonic
and liquers:
Sabra, Bailey's, Kahlua, Grand Marnier etc.
but I usually only have about 2 or 3 drinks a month.
More than two drinks in one night and I feel ill.

MORE OVALTINE, PLEASE!
;D ;D ;D
-
Favorite soft drinks: Diet Dr. Pepper, Orangina (the French one, made with blood oranges)
I also love those Italian sodas (especially tangerine and grapefruit) but since they have sugar I will usually cut them with fizzy water so they're not so sweet. Perfect on a hot Atlanta day.
-

Somehow, I just love the sound of that!

Joan Rivers once told a Liz Taylor joke that "Liz is the only person I know who stands in front of a microwave and yells: Hurry!"
Did microwave cooking used to be speedy, I wonder? I just put in a Stouffer's dish and to my horror it says cook 7 minutes on high, then 9 minutes at 50% power, then let stand for 5 minutes.

Okay, let's have more bad directorial touches in musical plays. Let us imagine a director/choreographer with a "vision" and let's imagine what they would do to some classic musicals and musical numbers - sort of a what if.
A Little Night Music, re-imagined as a slapstick comedy.
The Liebeslieders all all equipped with whoopie cushions, and use them - at the most devastating of moments.
Each scene ends with Desiree getting a pie in the punim.
The duet for Anne and Charlotte becomes Every Day a Little Laugh.
The Miller's Son becomes The Farmer's Daughter.
And as for Send in the Clowns...well, let's just say this: it involves a teeny car and a lot of little red noses...

Fortunately, I found this clip from Avenue Jew (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdwlG05InAY) to cleanse my palate. It's silly, but funny.
OMG, I just finished watching this. I had to stifle myself because I'm at work but if I was at home I would have been ROTFLMAO!!!

Like some others here, I neither drink, nor drink coffee or tea.
That's me, too. I practically live on diet Pepsi. :) I know the official drink of HHW is diet Coke (and I have no trouble ordering it at restaurants), but DP is my drink of choice. I do not like regular colas at all. :P And you can't pay me enough to drink regular Coke. Well...you can, but it would have to be a lot more than it's really worth. ::)

I was looking at the tours through Portland this summer and LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA will be here...I wonder if it would be entertaining to a 5 year old who loves dancing?
Also, CHICAGO is coming through once again. I saw it last year when it featured Tom Wopat...this year it seems to feature Tony Hadley who was the lead singer of my favorite 1980s pop group SPANDAU BALLET...if indeed he will be in it I may have to see it again.

Piazza has almost next to no dancing, so... And it's also pretty heady and adult subject matter too. So, I'd suggest that you see it - and the touring cast is quite wonderful - but it's most definitely not appropriate for a five-year old, whether or not she loves dancing.

Not so much. IMHO

Thanks Jose, I wasn't quite sure.
And looking at Tony Hadley's website I see he is doing the England tour of CHICAGO...so the CHICAGO website seems to be a bit confusing on who is playing who and where.

The sooner America starts voting for talent rather than potential "dates", the sooner this competition will take on some credibility.
I suspect the voting has a particular bias - it is (almost) self evident the the next American Idol will be one of the top three women - so the quick-thumbed teeney-boppers can have some fun bouncing around the guys 'till the show gets down to business.

Thanks for the hotel recommendation. I'm going to check and see if they have anything available. Another one I noticed close by the theatre is the Larchmont. It involves sharing a bath but I don't mind (as long as it's not at the same time!)
Picky, picky, picky.
I've stayed in hotels where no one bothers to knock--they just walk in!
I do appreciate a private bath!

Next Thursday we will indulge and go see Johnny Guitar at Chelsea Cinemas (where dreams come true, hosted by the lovely Hedda Lettuce). It's only $6.50 and you get a floor show and a chance to win door prizes. It's at 7pm. What more could you ask for???
For those of you unfamiliar with Johnny Guitar here is the description from Chelsea Cinemas Web site:
THURSDAY, March 22nd 7pm
Johnny Guitar (1954)
Women strap on six-guns in Nicholas Ray’s gender-bending western. A guitar-playing loner Johnny "Guitar" Logan (Sterling Hayden) wanders into a small town feud between lovelorn saloon owner Vienna (Joan Crawford) and Emma Small (Mercedes McCambridge), the town's resident lynch mobleading harpy. This fascinating cult favorite has had film theorists arguing for decades: is it a parody, a political McCarthy-era allegory, or Freudian exercise? The off-screen battles of the two female stars are equally legendary.
Directed by: Nicholas Ray
Genre: Western
Running Time: 110 min

RE: the new show tonight RAINES.
For some reason i thought it was supposed to be a cross between MEDIUM and GHOST WHISPERER. But apparently he has no psychic ability at all. He merely has hallucinations. Although i'm curious if these hallucination reveals turn out to have some sort of accurate information.
I don't think i'll watch today. But i think it's repeated tomorrow (it will be on fridays). So i may catch it then.
I think i will try the ABC one, OCTOBER ROAD. Sounds more like my cup of tea.

I normally like Chris S. a lot. But i thought the way he changed his song was quite bad. And I thought that coupled with the judges harsh comments might land him in trouble.
And these are only your opinions. I happened to love blake's arrangement. And thought he was very good on tuesday. He is the most original interesting performer to me.

I've heard of $45,000 handbags before. To me, this is absolutely obscene!!

I agree that the major talent is lakisha and melinda. But i had a strong feeling the guys were going to be at the bottom (as the girls were getting twice the amount of votes as the guys).
I would be curious to know how haley fit into the mix. Because i thought she was probably the weakest of the women. And actually there are a few women i am not crazy about. And a few guys i am crazy about.
Btw, here is that site that encourages people to vote for the worst. It's quite funny:

Speaking of cheap European hotels, there was this little mom and pop hotel I stayed in once in Padua, Italy. They had the MOST WONDERFUL hot chocolate!!! It was like liquid fudge! Oh, my!! I've NEVER tasted anything like it before or since. But, of course, there was NO hot water in the shower--only icy cold. This California girl had to wash her hair in ice cold water for the first time. Brrr! I still truly appreciate hot water.

I like this show!
At least by Tyra making fun of them we didn't get as much whining as usual.
I do think that going from long hair to having to cut it all off is quite cruel.
But the worst has to be those hair weaves. Are you telling me that there was no hairstyle they could have possibly done with the same length of hair???
And do these things ever stop hurting? I can see if it hurts while it's being done. But that girl said it was killing days later. I would not be able to deal with that.
-
LOL-I can just picture it now...."honey look what I purchased today, don't you just love it?"
-
Long hair & only cold water to wash it in. I have been there. :(
-
It is cute. I would need a more comfortable, fabric style, shoulder strap before spending that much on a purse.
BUT YOU WOULD???
Don't mean to pick on you, Jane. I just can't fathom spending that much on a handbag. it's the price of a new car--a nice car!! And think of how many CDs and DVDs you could buy...Talk about lots of Amazon orders! Kritzerland, too! Maybe even enough money for that documentary EDI was talking about...

RE: last night's LOST.
SPOILERS
*
*
*
I really liked it and was glad that kate/sayid/locke finally made it to The Others camp by the end. I've enjoyed their trek very much. But i want to find out what happened with jack.
And yes that ending was pretty surprising. I definitely liked it. Although no previews for me. That decision has worked out very well spoiler wise.
I wonder if jack is either a) brainwashed or b) pretending to blend in so he can the upperhand.
Regardless the look on kate's face was priceless.
I thought locke throwing the eye patch guy over the sensor was quite jarring. ANd surprising. Not sure why locke did that. Maybe it was because of what eye patch guy had been about to tell the group before he was interupted. I had just assumed he was going to say that john had been in a wheelchair.
It was interesting to see claire with dark hair. My gosh she looks so much better as a blonde.
-
DR MATT - my Lucy-Desi hasn't arrived. But may I suggest the Tallulah Bankhead OR Danny Thomas episodes!
I'll comment more on them in a minute, but I decided I'd watch them from beginning to end and not scramble up the sequence, to get more of an idea of what audiences at the time got to see.
-
Back from the jog, and have now written three pages - I'll definitely do at least one more, maybe two. My allergies are bothering me today.
-
The Tallulah episode has hilarious things, mainly all of Tallulah's stuff. This was the episode where I noticed that Lucy's stuff was beginning to seem a little tired.
-
And these are only your opinions. I happened to love blake's arrangement. And thought he was very good on tuesday. He is the most original interesting performer to me.
Jennifer, thank you so much for clarifying for me what my opinions are.
I hope you will note that I never made any claim that MY OPINIONS were anyone else's.
Indeed, I wish to assure you that I take your opinions at face value as being only YOUR opinions, as well.
I can assure you I hold the same regard for your opinions as you do mine.

I would think that would be when one would start needing one. ;)
My thoughts exactly, signdaw! LOL!
-
I certainly agree about THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA not being appropriate for a five year old. I think she'd be bored stiff. It's very much adult stuff, and I'm sure all the Italian scenes done in Italian would quickly confuse her.

Awww.... Eartha Kitt just said, "Thank You, Darlin'" to me.
:)
-
I actually think Clara's episodes in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA would be too frightful for a five year old.
-
And I think I actually may be done for they day too... I just need to check in with the stage manager to see who needs to go where for the last hour of rehearsal. Otherwise, I think I'm going to pack up, and get ready to head out.
Laters...

Although, when David Burnham takes off his shirt.... I'm pretty sure DR MBarnum would like that. *And since David has a nicer body that Matthew Morrison, and since the tour is staged for a proscenium house, there's more "flesh time" as it were. ;)

A propos yesterday's nefarious Gypsy clip, so courteously provided by DR Ben...
What other classic stage numbers have you seen abused by a directorial conceit gone awry?
This isn't so much a number gone awry, but a whole show gone horribly wrong. Former DR Jenny posted THIS (http://www.haineshisway.com/community/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=186;start=msg28634#msg28634) story about her experience in a production of The Sound of Music (I've reposted this a couple of times, but it deserves to be repeated...again ;)):
I was in a production of "The Sound Of Music" at a Long Island performing arts camp. I was thrilled to be cast as Mother Abyss (Very unconventional casting, if you ask me. My last name is Weinbloom! I don't make a very convincing Catholic.), and it seemed from fairly early on that this would be a very good production. Two weeks before we were supposed to open, the head of the theatre department came into our rehearsal studio to tell the cast that the very Jewish philanthropists of the camp had complained that nice Jewish girls were being "forced" to play nuns (No mention of the little Jewish boys who were playing Nazis!). Our director, in all his brilliance, came up with a 'logical' solution for this problem: Get rid of the nuns. Of course, the entire cast was outraged, but especially the poor nuns who not only were losing valuable stage time but also their one chance to act like shiksas! When I asked the director why the philanthropists were so upset, he simply said "Well, the Catholics have done some terrible things to the Jews over the years..." And the Nazis haven't?! With each passing day, different aspects of our characters and the show in general were stripped away. First, we were told that we wouldn't be allowed to cross ourselves. Eventually, we also lost the right to kneel or hold our hands in a religious manner. When we got our costumes, they were simple black dresses. No habits, no crosses, nothing remotely religious. Instead of referring to Maria's home in the begining of the show as the "Abby", we were forced to call it the "School". Two days before the show, we were asked not to sing the opening in Latin, but rather on a simple "Lalala". On the final cast list that was put in the program, the nun ensemble was referred to as "Singing Spiritual Women".
It was very, very sad.

Here's a sampling as it were:

I began my Lucy-Desi experience with the Havana themed episode loaded with guest stars: Ann Sothern, Rudy Vallee, Cesar Romero. I enjoyed Cesar's performance a lot, and it was nice to see Ann Sothern again even though she was really starting to get heavy at this time and had her weight camouflaged by black dresses and having rails and flower pots and tables placed at her waist level.
I've never been an admirer of Rudy Vallee, and by 1957, I don't think he was exactly in the top tier of stars any more and hadn't been for at least 10 years. Too bad Lucy/Desi couldn't have gotten Xavier Cugat for that spot, or anyone with something of a musical career still going at that point.
With the increased clarity of these shows (and they look fabulous, by the way), you can see bad paint jobs on some of the sets, and the backdrops are all too obvious now.

THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (ugh!)
Why do so many people hate this movie? I always end up watching it if I see it on air. It certainly didn't deserve Best Picture...and I don't think I like it enough to call it a guilty pleasure, but I still enjoy it!
I got my copy of SECONDS and a bunch of other stuff from DeepDiscount. As if I'll ever get to watch any of them... :-\
-
...And I have to say, that not only does David actually look (more) Italian than Matthew Morrison and Aaron Lazar (who played Fabrizio on Broadway), but he also sings the songs most beautifully, and in the original, higher keys too!
*He did understudy Fabrizio on Broadway, but I never saw him go on. But I did hear him sing the songs a few times in various concerts.
-
Next, I watched the Tallulah Bankhead episode. She steals every scene she's in, and is the whole show for my money. Yes, Lucy does the usual slapstick antics which end up turning out OK for everyone involved, but Tallu was fabu!
Too bad no one ever thought up a comedy series premise for her. She seems to have been a naturally funny, witty woman, and after this guest star appearance, an enterprising producer should have been able to come up with something first rate for her.
-
And another one:

Yes, he's gorgeous, all right. No question about that.

I just find it a hammy, overproduced melodrama. And DeMille's hokey narration doesn't help matters.
-
Doesn't that make your coffee kind of...chewy?
Did I say I put the candy in the cup?

Actually, in my experience, there is no "Italian" look that would definitively place one of those actors above the other. The guy in the posted photos looks more Sicilian than Florentine, although nothing says the look isn't authentic to Florence. I'm just saying I've seen two of them, and both could pass for Italian.
The guy who was Fabrizio in the PBS production, whoever he was, was fabulous from my perspective. I'd love to see all of them do the different numbers.
-
Any "Toad in the Hole"?
Don't I own the videocassette?
-
Speaking of cheap European hotels, there was this little mom and pop hotel I stayed in once in Padua, Italy. They had the MOST WONDERFUL hot chocolate!!! It was like liquid fudge!
Brrr! I still truly appreciate hot water.
Have you had that Starbuck's hot chocolate that came in the little cup? Can't remember the name of it, (Chantico?) and I don't think they sell it any more, or maybe it's just seasonal, but you can buy something similar from Marie Belle on line: Aztec hot chocolate. I have a client who loves this so it makes shopping for him easy.
As for the hot water...some of the places I've stayed in Europe had hot water for showers; you just had to pay a little extra for it.

Wasn't that "Toed in the Hole" in your collection?

That sounds about right - for stuffed goat!
Noooooooooo!!!!!!!

Goat Cuisine - that's the name of something, isn't it?
:)

Absolutely! I can't resist it, being as how "I Know Drama"!
I love the hokey narration, too! It's all cheesy and fun.
-
You know, Amy, another 1950s Best Picture that people pee on is "Around the World in 80 Days" and I find it a totally beautiful, fast-paced and fun film. It has brilliant photography and a glorious score by Victor Young. It's total theatrical candy....the good stuff, too!

DeMille also provides that hokey narration on "The Ten Commandments," but no one ever gripes about that.

Next, I watched the Tallulah Bankhead episode.
I think she was named after our Tallulah River/gorge.
There's an area of Atlanta called Buckhead, so of course we have a drag queen in town who calls herself Tallulah Buckhead.

I've always loved this film!
I knew we were simpatico!
:D
-
A regular kitschy coup, if you ask me.
-
You own it, too?
I missed the original classic. I have "Toed in the Hole, Too".

I haven't seen that since I was a kid. I'll have to keep an eye out for it!

The Larchmont is very close to the Quad. Larchmont is on 11th between 5th & 6th Avenues and the Quad is on 13th between 5th and 6th Avenues.
That's why I was thinking of it, since I'll probably have some friends coming into town for the film and we would have a place nearby to catch up. And share a bathroom. ;D

We didn't have Toad in the Hole at our restaurant around the corner but when we went to Nottingham to visit our dear friends she made toad in the hole for us. Quite yummy!!!

I am SO thrilled! I finally after a year of trying landed a laserdisc copy of THE MUSIC LOVERS, and cheap, too! I was ready to pay at least double of what I ended up paying.
Patience pays off!

ANd now I must head downstairs and watch the new edition of PETER PAN.
WBBL.

I got there at 10:01, but sadly the cup had been taken.
-
As for "Lost"...
A good episode. -And the closing minutes - including the previews for next week - were quite gasp-inducing.
AARRGGHH!! I haven't watched the last TWO episodes. :o I have to kechup...and soon!

I just spent a couple of hours helping our business librarian host a reception and awards ceremony for 4 teen winners in The Miami Valley's Next Top Entrepreneur Essay Contest. The judges were 2 business owners and the editor of the Dayton Business Journal. Very creative business ideas from these young people, including a heli-taxi from Manhattan to the Jersey shore. My family could have used that in 1999, when we spent a week in Ocean Grove, NJ, and had to take a 2-hour bus ride each way on the 2 days we spent in the City.
Since I'm going to my book group meeting directly from work, my dinner consists of the leftover refreshments from the reception.

BUT YOU WOULD???
ROTFLOL-Of course not!

Jeez...there are NO good hotels available, apparently! I tried quite a few in the Village. The Chelsea Savoy had a 1 bed room for 250/night. So I went with my old standby, The Edison and booked through a hotel broker. I have to wait 24 hours to see if I get the room. The only thing they had available was for either 1 or 3 people, but the 3 person one was still less than 200.
So, I have plane tickets, possibly a hotel and now I'm working on show tickets. We can go to shows on Thursday night, and Sat. and Sun. matinees. Right now, our picks are Avenue Q, Curtains and Drowsy Chaperone. Any recommendations if we aren't able to get tickets for these?
-
Oh, we get in 3/29 and leave 4/1. We will be at Sacco and Vanzetti at the Quad Cinema in the village on Friday and Saturday nights. We would love to see any HHWers while we're in NY, and hope to see some at our screenings, too. (If you do well opening weekend, that is when the decision is made to hold it over. The first two days!)
-
This morning I went for a walk at the river preserve. There were lots of baby lizards about. Note the blade of grass:

DR Ginny thanks for the email about THIS (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/15/theater/15rupe.html?_r=1&ref=theater&oref=slogin) article about Rupert and CURTAINS. I usually read the NYT right away, but hadn't done so today

Oh, and you're welcome for the email. I wasn't sure you were still using that address.

Edi - Assuming you have no dog allergies, would you be up for a noonish brunch at our place (we're at 43rd & 10th) before whatever show you see on the Sunday of your visit?
If you guys are up for that, the we'll invite the rest of the HHW NYC crew, too.

I may not know how to make stuff dance across the screen, but I can put a misplaced icon into MusicGuy's quote and make it do wacky stuff...
Now, that takes talent!
;)

Oooh, sounds like fun Fred! Skip, Fred, Toby and Dylan and HHW. A combination that can't go wrong!
We are planning to come to Sacco and Vanzetti on Friday the 30th btw

I drink coffee every morning
I love stopping for a Mocha on the way to work
I don't drink tea.
I don't drink alcohol.
I don't drink cola.
I hardly ever drink anything caffeinated after noon.
My drink of choice is Cranberry Juice mixed with 7-Up or Sierra Mist - NOT Sprite.

$45,352 for a purse!! Or a car?? My parents bought their house for only $28,000!! Of course, that was in 1976, ::) so things were different, but still!

Not to sound too confident, but we're hoping for a good crowd at the Quads. I checked them out when I was up in January, and the theatres are very small. So you might consider buying tickets in advance just to make sure...

I would feel bad if anyone came down for the film and couldn't make it in.

Ate a nice chicken Caesar from Wolgang Puck's at Gelson's. Tonight will be Casino Royale, which I'm looking forward to with quiet dread.

Sounds great for Sunday April 1 at our place, let's say noon.
Other HHWers who can come (but only if you can really come, no April fooling :) ) please RSVP to me at my AOL address, DYLAN43RD. Or any other AOL address you may have for me. So we can have an idea of how many to plan for, let's set an RSVP date by Saturday, March 24, but earlier RSVP's are appreciated!

Cheeseburgers.
Guacamole.
Fries.
And a fruit salad (honeydew and cantalope, blackberries, and orange segments, dressed with key lime yogurt).

He sings Love To Me on his new solo album [I think on LML?], without the Italian accent, as well as a wonderful rendition of Jason Robert Brown's Someone To Fall Back On.
...One of the "almost train wrecks" at SETCs involved a young man who brought in the refrain of "Someone To Fall Back On". Alas, since the melody is "off the beat" it can be a bit tricky to coordinate. And then since the singer just wanted to start on his own after I gave him the pitch, it was a bit difficult for me to find his beat. Thankfully, we both ended together, but everything that came before that... -Those 10 bars felt more like 100 to me.
-But that was nothing compared to the girl who brought in another Jason Robert Brown song, "Just One Step". I played her first pitch... She sang her first pitch... And that turned out to be the only pitch she hit correctly for the next 16 bars. :-\

I'm logey.

What about if there was a rap/hip hop version of a R/H show called:
South Pacific Avenue
Nellie is a singer who was voted off American Idol, and Emil is the judge who wanted to keep her. But Nellie loves the owner of a Rap CD Label...and she must decide which culture she will live in....
Billis is the Italian gangster who holds the mortgage on said CD company, and Bloody Mary is his mother, so called because she is the main hit man of the organization.

Watching some ice skating.
I like GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.....I don't like AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, I think mostly because I just don't like David Niven in anything. I really like THE TEN COMMANDMENTS because it is completely berserk and exists in its own universe - and scripture.

It’s a good thing I didn’t mortgage our house to buy the purse, the vet bills are about to add up.
Tomorrow morning our vet is calling to set up an appointment for Sherlock to see an orthopedic specialist in Portland. He needs further tests & possibly surgery on his shoulder. On the initial x-rays it appears he has bilateral (though only the right side is symptomatic) OCD, or Osteochondritis dissecans.

I just bought discount tickets to Curtains for Thursday night, thanks to Jose's info. But Avenue Q only had one show to chose from, March 16th. Is it closing, or just sold out that far in advance?
-
Osteochondritis dissecans---it says that:
More than 10% of dogs develop OCD in one or more joints. The condition is more prevalent in large and giant breeds such as:
Great Dane
Labrador retriever
Newfoundland
Rottweiler
Bernese mountain dog
English setter
Old English sheepdog
Golden retriever
German shepherd

As DR FJL mentioned, the codes expire that Friday, so... And I checked a couple of other shows out, and their discounts expire then too - most likely to coincide with the start of the Spring Break season.
-
Well, I'm gonna head to bed earlier again tonight. I have another long day of rehearsal AND playing auditions tomorrow, so... -And I'm also still dealing with this pesky cough/cold that I started coming down with before I left for Atlanta last week... UGH! So...
Goodnight.
-
DROWSY CHAPERONE has an alternate discount code of 5PLAY - which is good during your trip. Trouble is, it's a very small discount. You get seats that normally cost $110 for $85, plus service charges, on ticketmaster.com..

DR Jane - ~~~~~Continued Non-Achey Vibes to Sherlock!~~~~~

Jose, love hearing about your adventures, vibes to recovering from your cold and can't wait to hear more

Went to a sort of interesting birthday party. Martha has a great mix of friends, a real diverse group. It gave me a chance to to let a lot of friends know about my new plans

Can you say, "Office Warming Party"?
;)
-
Tomorrow I'm off to a meeting out of town and another birthday party, dinner party and an overnight at the lake. I don't plan to take my laptop with me. I don't think my friend has wireless so there wouldn't be much point in taking it. I'll be back home sometime on Saturday.
-
Will we never get to page fourteen?
It will happen.
-
And once again...
Goodnight.

Yes, that will happen in August...actually, a friend asked if she could be my first immigration client when I open, she's from the U.K. of course I said yes.

'night Jose

I spent the first part of the evening watching the newly remastered version of PETER PAN. Its look is quite a bit different from the last version released in 2002. Colors have been tweaked, most for the better but occasionally I think they missed the mark. The lines in the animation are much more solid and dynamic making for a bolder, brighter picture. And like SNOW WHITE and BAMBI, the picture has been scrubbed to remove most of the grain in the picture. Some don't like that newly polished look. It doesn't bother me at all.
And the new Dolby DIgital 5.1 enhanced theater mix is much fuller than the one on the 2002 disc. There's actually some bass in the mix now and with more use of the surrounds, mostly for music , but still, it does have a much fuller sound.

Tomorrow for my listening pleasure while I drive 2 hours it will be disk 2 of my spanish cds...it's not exciting, but a 2 hour stretch in the car is a really good way to focus on listening and repeating

UGLY BETTY had a delightful episode with Betty's continuing crush on the accountant being thwarted, Daniel and Alexis fighting and then making up again, and some fun stuff with the office meanies (the Amanda dress was hilarious).
The social worker stalking Betty's father is not a storyline I'm interested in much at all, and I wish they'd play it out, but I guess they have to give the actor something of interest to play since he's a regular.
Since America Ferrara has made no secret of his dissatisfaction with the braces she has to wear for the role, I was sure they were coming off tonight and a retainer being substituted for the rest of the season. Maybe they're saving that for the last episode. I enjoyed seeing Jesse Tyler Ferguson playing her dentist, a switch from the hapless Ritchie on THE CLASS.
-
Hmm, Saturday I must buy a corned beef and make a boiled New England dinner. I like it better than just corned beef and cabbage. I make it every year around St. Pats day.
-
Roger Rees had an interesting guest star role on GREY'S ANATOMY tonight as Christina's former lover and mentor. And most of the relationships on the show hit rocky patches tonight stirring up the waters quite well.
-
I enjoyed RAINES. It was a clever mystery with a surprise solution. Jeff Goldblum is really playing a sad sack part with a permanent hangdog expression pasted on his face, but it suits the show. The hour passed quickly, but I'm not sure it's action oriented enough to capture a large audience. I'll be interested to see how it did in the ratings.
Funny that among the guest stars on this pilot episode, one of the suspects is the actor who plays Meredith's father on GREY'S ANATOMY. Another was the actor who plays Allison's brother on MEDIUM.
-
I should mention that the general consensus of everyone I talk to is that I am going to have more work than I can handle in a very short time. Boy do I hope they are all right!
-
Roger Rees was on GREY'S ANATOMY! Oh darn - do they repeat it at any point during the week? (Roger Rees is directing Skip's show HERRINGBONE at Williamstown in June, so Skip may want to catch that GREY'S episode if they rerun it soon.)

ABC has been repeating Thursday's episode on Friday evening at 8 p.m. Check local listings to see if they're doing that this week.
-
And now, I'm heading downstairs to bed.
Good night!
-
Thanks, Matt!
-
Fred, I'm not home yet, so I'm recording it...unless something went horribly wrong with my DVR, so if you need, I could tape it and send it to you.
-
Unless you're able to watch it tomorrow, of course. :)
-
Well, I'm leaving work now.
Just had to share. :D
-
Poor little gigantic Sherlock! :-\
-
Cillaliz, you just reminded me that I need to start listening to those "teach yourself Hindi" cds that I bought several months ago...I listened to the first half of the first lesseon....and that was as far as I got.
But my weekend Bollywood movies do help pick up the Hindi learning slack.

DH and I went for an evening walk. The orange blossoms are blooming. Mmmmm.
-
George - It looks like it is on tomorrow at 8, as Matt said. (But thanks so much for the offer.)
-
DH and I went for an evening walk. The orange blossoms are blooming. Mmmmm.
Oh man, I love the heavy sweet scent of orange blossoms. That's one thing about Phoenix I really miss
-
Someone dance for me!
-
Anyone have a graphic for the Dance of the Orange Blossoms?
-
Would you believe Bloosom Dearie dancing and eating an orange?
-
By Bloosom, i of course meant Blossom.
-
Just finishing up Casino Royale. Don't know if I have the patience for another film - we'll see.
-
Well, I'm off to sleep...I must get up early, pack a bag, drive 2 hours while listening and repeating the Spanish language before I start my work day...whew!
-
Safe travels to Cillaliz!
-
I just find it a hammy, overproduced melodrama.
My life's story!

I saw Miss Patti here earlier. Apparently she didn't post. Apparently, she will be bitch-slapped from here to eternity and hell and back.
-
Dinner tonight will be quite simple.
Cheeseburgers.
Guacamole.
Fries.
And a fruit salad (honeydew and cantalope, blackberries, and orange segments, dressed with key lime yogurt).
He lied! No cheese on the burger!!!
der Brucer
The Fruit salad was a real treat!

I, too, enjoyed it. I found the less-than-frantic pacing refreshing and the show provided a very likable protagonist.

Since America Ferrara has made no secret of his dissatisfaction ...
His? Does this need a spoiler alert?

Weren't we on page 15 when I left...?

As long as I am back in time for dinner.
-
Posting is like writing a book, somedays it comes naturaly, and some days it's like pullng teeth to figure out what to write, or even worse, knowing what to write but not how to convey it.
-
That is my deep thought for the day.
-
I shall be back for the ritual of the posting of Ye Olde Notes. See you there Goerge!
-
Getting a late start on the notes, because I took a shower and then finished the chapter I was working on - I somehow ended up writing a whopping eight pages today.
-
w00t for eight pages!
-
Someone is blasting really loud rock music under my window...
-
One is the loneliest number...

Finally in a mood to communicate with people and no one is here
