Today’s the first real rehearsal of Such Good Friends.  The previous two days are not considered “real” because they consisted of our dapper and gentlemanly musical director teaching the songs.  Today, we’ll have the whole cast assembled for the first time.  The set designer will show off the wooden model.  Everyone’s planning to be there.  Then, for the first time, the script will be read out loud.  Songs will be sung.  Then, lunch will be consumed.  I’m thinking of having lean roast beef.  After lunch, the schedule says “table work” so I assume we’ll all be assembling the table, putting on casters and such

Good morning, all! These editorial guidelines are driving me up the wall.  I began them in June, then we got caught up in an office move and all that madness, and now I'm back to them and I need to finish them. The textual issue is the problem: how does one intelligently and scholastically say "in most cases of beaming, contemporary musical practice is followed  except in thoses cases in which the holograph beaming is indicative of a particular need?" Sometimes it's easy, and at other times it doesn't flow. Oy! Every paragraph is like this.

DR Noel, please tell Dirk and Liz hello for me! I hope the rehearsal goes well.

Today, it's a stop at "The Brain" rehearsal to pick up the old parts, then the pharmacy.  After that, back to the guidelines for a few hours and then a few hours with the orchestra parts.

TOD: my parents had cable in the 1970s in Ohio and I have no idea what it was.  I had other fish to fry then. I've had Time Warner since around 1994, and that's my story.  I'm sticking to it.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I don't remember names of those early cable providers, but, of course - for my generation at least - the one station I watched and watched was MTV.  -Which, sadly, bears no resemblance today to what it stared off as.  It seems all the videos are now being shown on MTV2.

Instead of my throat being scratchy last night, it was suddenly itchy and I was coughing quite a bit.  Once I fell asleep I somehow found a "good" position and, other than waking up a few times, I did not move from that position and managed to get at least seven hours, which, for this trip, is not bad.  I don't feel great, but hopefully will feel better as the day progresses.  Word of the day coming up.

The mine shaft along the remote Cherum Peak Trail in the Cerbat Mountains, where two sisters fell down the 125-foot-deep abandoned shaft while driving their all-terrain vehicle last Saturday, is shown in Chloride, Ariz. TOD: I thought cable sounded like a swell idea when it first came out: movies with no commercials. Then I heard they started putting commercials in and rates kept going up.

We never had cable, until the roofers removed our antenna and we had no reception at all. Then we got cable internet and basic cable tv was included in the package. Basic means network plus Discovery and maybe a fuzzy shopping channel or two.

TOD - Living in the middle of nowhere, we had a form of cable when I was young. It just allowed us to get the big 3 and public tv.  I don't remember when I first had the other cable channels.  I didn't watch that much TV when I was in high school - other than shows on the networks.  I remember The Satellite News Channel and MTV starting up when I was in college...boy, this is something I just don't remember

I guess I can't answer that. I do know my Grandmother and her friends gathered around and watched what they thought was going to be a terribly scandalous show...The First  Nudie Musical.

All we have is a one disk Philadelphia Story.

THE PHILADELPHIA STORY is a much better transfer than the one disc edition (which I also had). All of the films are classics, and they all look great except LIBELED LADY which looks very old and beat up, but the movie's so wonderful you just roll with the punches. If you're a fan of the films, I certainly would spring for it since buying these together is cheaper than buying separately (and even if you only want, say, three, of the films, it's still cheaper unless you can find some very cheap used copies.)

We had a rotor antenna at home, so I didn't get my first cable experience until I moved to my first apartment in 1979. The complex had its own cable system and the best selection it had was The Movie Channel which I thought was the best thing ever invented.

I lived in that complex for three years: two years in a one bedroom garden apartment and the last year in a two bedroom garden (the second bedroom was used for my office and it was SO nice to get my desk out of the living room), and the complex always had The Movie Channel which, along with TBS, were my two favorite cable channels.

I didn't get HBO until I moved to the house I'm now living in in 1982 and subscribed to (then) Cablevision (now Time-Warner).

How about something like:  "We did what we did because we like it and because it works.  If you don't like it, go take a hike!"

I soooo prefer that! However, if I'm going to give the public my musicological profile in Toyland, I have to do better.

I've been to rehearsal, I've been to the pharmacy.  Now I have a lot of work.  And I really (sigh) just want to play.

As I have mentioned in the past, the arrival of cable television came early to Medford, Oregon...around 1971 or so, when I was in second grade. It consisted of channels piped up from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and down from Portland. It was wonderful and kept my dad and I glued to the TV set at all times.

The first actual "cable" stations that I can recall was, I think, CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) which I watched religiously (hee, hee, hee) as they showed reruns of BACHELOR FATHER, THE JACK BENNY SHOW, THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS, and MY LITTLE MARGIE.

A few years later USA started up and I recall it showing old horror and sci-fi movies and maybe some of the Irwin Allen TV shows of the 60s.

In the mid to late 80s TBS and TNT were great channels with tons of old, old, old movies, as well as AMC.

Hi, All!

I won't be able to catch up for several more days but I'm popping in at work for a moment and wanted to say that we are now residents of Atlanta. We spent our first night there on Saturday. Sunday was a long day of more cleaning and packing at the old house, and we hope to finish most of it up today so the new folks can finish moving in.

The first night was rather a sleepless one. The poor cats had been locked up in the kitchen all day with lots of very loud noises going on behind the door. They finally busted out at the end of the move, to see a mostly empty house and then we left them there all day. They were stressed out when we came back and then we had to hunt them all down and catch them and put them in cages, which made us both feel weird, like we were conducting some sort of kitty pogrom.

The trip to Atlanta was kind of funny, with 4 cats meowing antiphonally. I wish I had a recording of it. I never realized their voices were so distinctive. They would repeat different phrases over and over and then change them, and it really sounded like they were talking to one another. It also sounded like one of those records you hear at Xmas with cats singling jingle bells, etc. Sometimes they would even make a chord!

We got them into the house (after bringing in my ancient kitty's ashes in) in the order that they had originally come to our house) and shut them in the bedroom, put all their cages on the bed and let them out. One immediately hid under the bed, another was too scared to come out of his cage and fell asleep in it, but the other two came out and scoped out the room. They seemed to be happy to be reunited with their furnishings. The trauma seemed to exaggerate everyone's personality quirks. But now everyone has emerged and I think they're going to love it there.

So far, they're confined to the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. After we finish our move tonight we will introduce them, to the rest of the house!

Looking forward to catching up with HHW.

And remember-THE CLOSER season finale tonight!

TOD:

The coming of cable:

The first thing cable did in this area was stablize the CBS feed from the local affiliate!

WGN, WTBS and CBN were among the first stations along with HBO, CNN and some sports channel. That was about 1983 or round about that time that Midcontinent connected some of the rural areas. However, Grand Forks and Fargo had far more interesting channels including the Canadian channels.

WE did not get USA until a bit later.

In the last few years Midcontinent has made either CBC or CTV  (CKY out of Winnipeg) available to all the cities they serve in North Dakota and northern Minnesota

The beauty of the canadian channels, we get Doctor Who before it broadcasts on Sci fi channel and of course, HOCKEY!

Ron, a few of those I have heard of when I looked at the North Dakota listings. However for the FArgo one, it should be Morrill hall not Minard.  There are ghosts in Ceres hall.

I have heard of the Fort Abercrombie one. I have also heard the one for the Cannonball river area also repeated up in the Belcourt area and that is linked to a Metis legend referring to Loupgaroux (I am not sure on the spelling).

TOD:

Our first cable company was called Garden State Cable, which didn't find its way to our particular neighborhood until 1978 or so.  Cable was cheap then, and my parents let themselves splurge on getting both HBO and Prism (a local premium service that showed Philadelphia sports teams as well as movies.)  When we first got cable, HBO ran only during the prime time hours.

Among my favorite channels:  there was some kind of arts channel (not ARTS) that showed odd productions of plays (I remember Donald Pleasance in UBU ROI.)  DR PennyO mentioned the early Comedy Channel, which I liked for its hodgepodge of BBC comedies and 50s sitcoms (it's where I first saw I MARRIED JOAN.)  I also enjoyed Arts and Entertainment--even though it was a premium channel, it still came through clear enough to watch its programming.  It later morphed into ARTS, which was still unique enough to enjoy.  And I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent a lot of time watching MTV.

Our first cable box (that we had for about ten years!) was a unit that had a console with thirteen buttons, a fine tuner and a switch to traverse the three tiers of channels, that ran from 02 to 36.  The console was connected to the box with a cord that everyone was always tripping over.

...And I talked to one or my roommates this morning... Apparently, "she" was angry this morning since it appeared that no one had cleaned the bathroom nor the floors.  Well.. If she looked close enough, should would have noticed that all the chrome and porcelain was sparkling, and our main floor is one of those tile floors that still looks like it's dirty even after you clean it.  *Apparently, her criteria for a clean bathroom is a cleaned carpet... But since she likes to wash the BIG carpet in our LITTLE washing machine... I guess she was expecting to see more shreds from the pile and fibers and more pieces of the rubber backing peeled away... -Whatever...

"How come no one cleans when I'm not here?!?!?"

Ummm...  -Besides, when are you here now anyway??!?!?

In any case, our new subletter got caught in the middle of her "cleaning rage" this morning.  So...

The head roomie is going to have a good talk with "her" tonight - and actually make her stay and listen and respond instead of retreating to her bedroom again like she's done the past few times we've tried to have a house meeting.  So...  Just in case...

How much longer would DR Cason like to stay in NYC?  ;)

DR Cillaliz re: your comments about last night's BIG BROTHER.

I am surprised that you don't like the Donatos anymore.  I guess their edit (especially daniele's) has been much more negative lately.  It's sort of odd because this is how daniele has always been. Well actually i've been told that she is much worse than how i think she is.

I just really disliked her on last night's show.  But that scene with her and zach had me thinking.  She left in a huff very upset (good).  But she had been telling him that nobody could beat her dad. I loved zach's comments (after she left), "but your dad is an idiot".

Does anyone think she meant what she said (it's hard to tell)?  I do not think that dick could beat anybody.

I think a zach/dani final would be quite interesting. I really have no idea how people like amber, dustin, and jess feel about things. Do they hate daniele? Do they like her competitiveness.  She said such sweet goodbyes. But they were so fake.

I really hate the kind of liar she is.  After she voted out jess she kept saying, "oh but it was last minute". Why not just admit to what you did!

AFter watching last night's show i am SO GLAD zach turned on them. I hated listening to them complain about it. If they had planned to keep their word. Fine. Then be mad. But they were planning on turning on him.

I think it's too little too late.

He should have done this when he held POV and Dick was HOH.  Eric and Jameka were on the block.  Only Daniele and Zach had a vote.  Zach chose not to use the POV.

He should have saved Eric.  Dick would have HAD to nominate Daniele.  And Zach and Eric could have voted out Daniele.  Then Zach, Eric, and Jameka would have been in the final four with Dick and the chances of Dick's leaving before the final 2 would have been much better.

In the FWIW Department:

One of my mom's friends in Johnston SC has two sons in the Marine Corps and both work in the Pentagon.

Recently, one of those sons got married to a lady who is an aide to Condaleeza Rice.

He called his mom this past Friday and said, "Mom, there's a hurricane coming.  You need to buy four or five days worth of canned goods that you don't have to cook.  And stock enough water to last that long, too."

My mom's friend was a bit puzzled, since she knew he knows she's well inland from actual exposure to hurricane-force conditions.  But she told him, "I know all about the hurricane, but we're not in its path.  We'll be lucky to get any rain from it."

My mom's friend said her son replied: "No, mom.  Listen to what I'm telling you.  'There's a HURRICANE coming!'  Please be prepared.  That's all I can say about it."

I know what his mom took from it, and I've been passing this message along.  It may not result in anything, but folks, there is "possibly" a hurricane coming, and it's best to be prepared.

I went to Nisqually Middle School in Lacey!! :o But I went from 1978-1980, so this person died after I left.  But still...spooky!

Monday afternoon greetings.  We had a call from my mother-in-law's nurse at 7:30am, informing us that she had a racing (but regular) heartbeat and would be having a procedure as soon as her cardiologist arrived.  I was ready for work, so Richard and I went over to the hospital and were there in plenty of time.  Harriet was pretty scared, but glad to see us.  That procedure went fine and achieved its mission, but the decision on the abdominal surgery has now been delayed, pending an x-ray she was to have this afternoon.  We're at home now, waiting to hear further.

Couple Wed in Savannah Ceremony

Nashville, TN September 10, 2007 -- In a candlelight ceremony attended by family and close friends, country music artist Joe Nichols married sweetheart Heather Singleton last night (September 9th) at the historic Whitfield Chapel in Savannah, GA. The couple opted for a traditional wedding in a city they agree is one of the most romantic in the world.

"Heather and I have known each other since we were 18 years old, and I can honestly say I fell in love with her the first day I saw her," Nichols said. "The saying 'timing is everything' is so true with us. I have never been happier."

The couple will reside in Nashville, TN.

Well, congrats are in order. . .and so are my tears.   :'(

Something else scary:

Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house.
Everyone should be aware of this! It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming.

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions straight to our house. I did fill out the removal form for myself, and encourage all of you to do the same. Quite scary.

Please look up your own number.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: www.google.com/
Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e.
555-555-1212) and hit enter. If yo u want to B L O C K Google from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours.

Next, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yep, the gay storyline was in evidence today, and Madie has finally been alerted to the possibility that something might have gone on between Luke and Noah. Will be interesting to see Noah's reaction to her confrontation. Again, I LOATHE the character of Noah's father.

From the previews, it doesn't look like the storyline wil be on tomorrow's show at all.

For all you DRs interested in MONKEY BREAD:

Williams-Sonoma now carries a "classic monkey bread mix" and a monkey bread baking mold. They describe monkey bread as a pull-apart yeast bread. You roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter), then dip each one in melted butter and cinnamon-sugar, before stacking the balls in the mold. You let the dough rise, then bake. Same animal, JOSE?

I'd missed the part of Friday's rehearsal when Liz Larsen's keys were set.  So, I'd no idea whether the songs might sound screechy or shrill.  Sure enough, when we got to her first big number, we heard an unbelievably loud and assertive, piercing sound.  This turned out to be the fire alarm.  So, we all had to leave the building and wait as two hook-and-ladders pulled up.  Within a half hour, an alarm malfunction had been declared and we resumed our run-through.  It still lasted less than two hours - with the time lost for the false alarm.

Turned out the keys were great for Liz, who sings with such warmth, the sound of her vocals ensures her character has the requisite "lovability" I'd been concerned about during casting.  And, speaking of lovable - Shannon O'Bryan.  In the cartoon version of today, there'd be all these hearts flying in her direction.

There's plenty of room to fly here: 25-foot ceilings, windows on two sides - sound and west to the river.  But no one's distracted by the view - or the alarm bells: These are experienced professionals knocking heads together to make sure every beat's as funny as funny can be.  A great day.

Back from an interesting run-through and then some detailed work in scenes and numbers.  We're at that point now where nothing seems that funny to me (I go through this all the time on every show), where the actors are trying to remember lines and blocking and still shape their performances, etc.  I will say again the cast is terrific, and I'm sure we'll find our rhythm once we settle in.  However, the fact that we pretty much got through it without stopping and that the show ran exactly what it always runs was a good sign.

It's all refining now, and getting each moment to work as well as it can.  And then we open.  No real tech - just a cue to cue and getting the sound as good as we can.

The network today announced the green-light of Legally Blonde: The Musical, a special that will culminate in a televised airing of the entire Broadway smash show based on MGM's ever-popular film Legally Blonde, and offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Broadway hit musical.

"Complete with a Pink Carpet extravaganza from the musical's venue, New York's Palace Theatre, the special will feature backstage access to the cast before their televised performance.  Legally Blonde: The Musical premieres Saturday, September 29 at 1PM (Eastern) and will subsequently air several times. Premiere dates subject to change.

That's most definitely Monkey Bread, not the Amy's Bread Monkey Cake which is most definitely a cake.  In any case...

I remember making Monkey Bread with my brothers when we were younger.  We'd just buy that frozen white bread dough at the store, defrost it, melt a few sticks of butter, pour some cinnamon and sugar in a dish, and start rolling and coating.  And for that extra special touch, we would make a batch of Confectioner's Sugar Icing to dip the balls of Monkey Bread into.

I think we even made it in 4-H, but they called it Cinnamon-Sugar Pull-Apart - or something like that.

MTV TO AIR LEGALLY BLONDE SAT 9/29 [taped 9/18]

MTV: Music Television has plans to go Blonde!

Oy! It's an awful version: humongous rewrite, very cutsie-poo, lots of plot changes, and it's the first broadcast with Jo Sullivan, not the second with Barbara Cook.  I have a DVD of the kinescope from several years ago.

Back from a little supper with Mr. Kevin Spirtas - we had some fun and I had some chicken soup and a ham sandwich at the Edison Cafe - the soup was very good and made me feel a bit better.  I got a couple of packets of EmergenC on the way home.  It's still most humid out.

I'm not returning to the Delta Grill for the reasons Jose states - acute nausea and now throat problems.  Not going to take a chance.

A Huntsman spider. They move very quickly!  They will often come into the house when rain is threatening. They usually live under the bark of trees.  They are not dangerous (though can bite) but are nevertheless creatures with which  do not like sharing space.

It is more frightening when you see one climbing up the windshield of the car - on the inside - when you are driving. They will often be in care inside cars for the warmth of the care engine - and them move into the car itself when the car is started.

I have been busy the last two days baking almond macaroons.  The first batch came out ok, so I tweaked the recipe a bit & made another batch.  I made the first batch in my mini food processor & baked all of 4 small cookies.  These were used as a taste recipe & I only have half a cookie left.

This morning I made a second, larger batch.  Since there wasn’t room in the mini food processor to add the egg whites into the ground almond & sugar mixture, I beat the egg whites first and then added them.  While the second batch was tastier the consistency wasn’t very good & the cookies just melted down when I baked them.  To add insult to injury they stuck to the parchment paper.

I made a third batch, with the tweaked recipe, in the mini food processor & baked all of three cookies with it.  They look lovely, however, I have no idea how they taste.  I’m saving the three lovely cookies to sit on top of the pathetic looking, in multiple pieces, 2nd batch I’m taking to my book group discussion tomorrow.  It seems silly to keep baking 3 cookies at a time just to get an entire batch of pretty cookies, nor can I bear to eat another almond macaroon right now.  There will also be brownies & pumpkins bars if no one wants to eat my almond macaroons. ;D  They are truly pathetic looking & I'm not so sure how good they taste.

BK - As far as Delta Grill... Frankly, I think it was just indulgence on top of indulgence...  The corn bread with butter... The fried okra (for me)... The fried oysters (for me)... The fried catfish (for you)... And the mac'n'cheese... -Oh, and the Levain cookies earlier in the day.

-Was Alet feeling OK?

You forgot the almond extract (thought some recipes called for vanilla).

Topping for ice cream sounds yummy.  I'll have to go get more.  I found using Baking sugar (Castor sugar) worked better than regular sugar.

DP Colin's Sister-in-lay just picks up the spiders in her hand. No way can I do it. These spiders are often called Tarantulas but are of course not.

My nephew is working with vegetation regeneration programmes in Northern NSW. Every day he is in contact with spiders (of the funnel web very nasty kind) and snakes.  He also has to deal with leeches and ticks every day!  He loves his work!

Back in my college days... I was home alone and talking to my boyfriend, who lived about 25 miles away,  on the telephone.

I flopped down on my bed and suddenly inches from my face was a giant....

daddy long legs

I screamed.  I threw the phone on the floor.  I ran outside and sat on the front step

My boyfriend (who knew I was home alone)  leaped in his car and must have broken several speed limits and other traffic laws because he was at my house within 20 minutes.

He of course had visions of me being murdered, he was most displeased to ;learn he had risked life and limb to save me froma daddy longlegs...

"It's not even a real spider" he complained

He did go and get it  and remove it from the premises though

DR TOMOVOZ,
Have you ever seen WIND AT MY BACK, a Canadian mini-series which takes place in the 1930's?

;D ;D ;D You are lucky he didn't call 911! ;D ;D ;D

And he was right, it wasn't even a real spider! ;D ;D ;D

I know!! His first instinct was to get to me and then once he was in the car he didn't want to stop to try to find a payphone

(back in those ancient pre-cell phone days!!!)

No DR Jeanne. I shall investigate.

I have just read "Open Secrets" by Canadian Alice Monro.

We don't get much TV from Canada.  (I did enjoy "Corner Gas").

BLAME JOSE!  BLAME JOSE!

ps - the last times that I had nightmares - literally - were when I was reading THE RUINS; but I loved the book anyway!

Mixing soda and ice cream here is referred to as a "Spider". Think of that instead.

Why blame Jose?

Finished with my telephonic meeting, which was indeed long.

Alet was queasy, too.  There was something rotten in the state of the Delta Grill, and yes, way too many fried and creamy things.

This might be a stupid question. But DR Jane, don't you have a bigger food processor?  I can't even picture how small yours must be to only make 3 cookies. What about using egg beaters?

My new favorite kitchen utensil is my little hand held mixer. I"m not sure what you call them. But they just have one blade. And you pulse to get things blended. It's awesome.

No stupid at all.  When you say egg beaters, you mean something to beat an egg, not the Egg Beaters that we can purchase in frozen cartons that are egg whites with additives to keep it fresh?  ;D

I hated my old food processor, it was very difficult to get the top on and off. Since I don't cook or bake like I used to, with just the two of us, so I replaced it with a small, lightweight food processor.

My sample recipe was 1/2 cup almonds ground with 1/2 cup superfine sugar.  That takes up more than half the space  in the container.  Once I add the egg whites & almond extract it beats it into a thick gooey mixture, which takes up 1/4 of the space.  I'm just not sure I can fit a double batch in at once.

If I don't use the food processor the consistency is just wrong for what I'm trying to do.  The food processor does a lot more than your hand held beater does, & more than you want for most baking recipes.  I might be able to manage the same results with my heavy duty bread mixer.

On the plus side, this is great if I'm in the mood for a few cookies.  I should try reducing a few other recipes & see what happens.

I just saw it in the Acorn catalog (British video) and it looks like just my thing. I put it in my Netflix queue.

I haven't read any Alice Monro, but have been generally impressed with all things Canadian. The US media rather ignores Canada, as if it's just a big frozen wasteland. There's lots going on culturally that we just don't hear about.

Never heard of CORNER GAS. Will look into it.

Coughing hard is not good.  Are you better now?  Stay away from your performers, you don't want them getting what you have.

"Corner Gas" is laconic "outback" humour with which Australians identify.

It's all taste!  I find very little  funny in My Name is Earl, Ugly Betty etc.

Yesterday we saw “3:10 to Yuma”.  We had the advantage of not having seen the original in a very long time.  If you are a big fan of the original I have no idea if you will like this film or not.  We however were pleasantly surprised.  There were a few scenes which were played for the visual effect more than anything else, yet we still enjoyed them.  The cast was excellent.  I was very partial to Christian Bale in this role.

Yes, I think humor is a rather individual thing.

I'm enjoying UGLY BETTY, though. I like Vanessa Williams' character.

Yeah. They packaged both season 1 and season 2 together. Afraid season 2 wouldn't sell?? I put the first disc at the top of my queue and should have it this week. I'll let you know how I like it, for whatever that's worth. Maybe there'll be a used copy available in a couple months. Is Netflix in Oz?

Becuase DR derBrucer was asking me about THE PHILADELPHIA STORY's two disc set this morning, I took mine out and put in the second disc. I had forgotten that THE MAN THAT MADE THE MOVIES: GEORGE CUKOR was one of the special features on the disc, so I watched that tonight. Grand seeing scenes from some of his films, but Richard Shieckel BARELY scratched the surface of his terrific filmography.

I had this program on an old videotape (taped off TV) when Cliff Robertson was the narrator. All the narration has been redone with Sydney Pollack (and in the case of the Cukor show, updated to include information about his later career and death). So, I'm glad to have this version which admittedly looks far better than the old videotape copy.

Tonight's season finale for THE CLOSER had a surprise murderer (for me, at least. I didn't see that coming) and some great drama between Brenda and Fritz. I'm glad the cliffhanger they had was not overtly dramatic.
