Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very blonde, and now it is time for you to post until the legally blonde cows come home. They're udderly busy right now.
-
And the word of the day is: GUERDON!
-
I forgot to mention the best thing whilst having Ye Olde Haircut - a guy came in selling various chocolate things. I gather that he comes in every Saturday. So, Teddy got a little case of something and I asked him what it was. He opened the box and said, "Just take one and put it in your mouth whole and then eat it with eyes closed. I did so - and it was a gloriously glorious taste treat. What it was was a chocolate-covered grape with a raspberry on top, and a half a cashew nut stuck in some fantastic chocolate coating. The burst of flavors was like a beautiful sunrise, and I immediately bought a box. I may have to now go there every Saturday to get a little something from this guy.
-
I'm feeling a little GUERDON after that post.
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
Has anyone finished Murder At Hollywood High yet?
-
Thanks for the correction, DR MBarnum. I don't know from Bollywood, obviously. Or even Tollywood.
-
And the word of the day is: GUERDON!
And The Song Of The Day Is: GIFT OF LOVE

Good Morning To All
(Did you All remember to Fall Back?)
-
Funny, it's 7:45, but it feels like 8:45!
-
Good morning, Arnold
-
Sunday morning greetings! What I like about the time change is that it will now, for a while at least, be light when I go to the bottom of our driveway for the newspapers between 7 and 7:30am. What I don't like is that it'll be dark when I leave work, but DH Richard is always there at the other end of my cell phone to walk me to my car.
I'm up early, getting ready to accompany him to St. Paul's Anglican Church in Cincinnati, where he's officiating today. DS Rob and DG(irlfriend) Mary Linda are planning to attend also - hope they remembered the time change!
-
Good morning, all! The stress and tension continue, and I don't foresee any letup before Tuesday, perhaps. I can't even guarantee that Tuesday will be my good news day, but I'm hoping.
Today, I have some time to myself in Toyland, where the filing/search for lost materials continues along with the research, and then a trek to Brooklyn's Gallery Players to see YANK, which friends loved at NYMF three years ago. Our Private Partz Chad is in the production, as is my friend Chris Carfizzii, and I'm going with my friend Bob from the NYPL Music Division. Since it's a break from the Toyland frustrations and the family aggravation, I hope it will be a good afternoon.
-
DR Elmore - stress-relieving vibes for your afternoon!
{{{{{Hugs}}}}}
-
DR MattH, I was reading your description of TORCHWOOD. That's a few times that you've mentioned that John Barrowman was barely on.
That seems so weird to me (being a bunch of episodes behind). He is the star. and he's been on almost every minute of all the shows i've seen so far!
-
I guess some new electronics know to change the time today!
But i gotten woken up at the new 6:45am. Little megan called. She usually calls at 7:15am. But i guess she (or rather her mother) figured that since it would have been 7:45am that it was okay to call early (since they woke up at the new 5:45am). :)
-
Oops it looks like one of those Goths from THE AMAZING RACE is a man after all. :)
They really do look "interesting!". And their names also aren't as weird as i remembered. Just something like Kynt and Vyxin. But when it was printed on the tv screen quickly it just looked like a bunch of letters!
Btw, I guess this means no TAR in Feb-june 2008. I am excited it will be on now. But it's sort of sad that it means it won't be on when it was supposed to be on. I wish they had picked it up for 2 series this year.
-
DIRTY SEXY MONEY SPOILER FROM LAST WEEK.
*
*
*
I"m not sure if anyone here watches this but me and DR MattH. It's not really something i look forward to. But it's sort of entertaining when it's on. But there is one thing that sort of bugged me about this week. Was it not completely obvious that nick had told donald sutherland about what was going on (making him bet a special hotel in the poker game).
They really needed to make that so that we didn't know. That would have been a good reveal. I like shows that can give us surprises.
-
STRESS-FREE VIBES FOR DR ELMORE!
I fell back. Yes, indeed I did. I fell back onto my sofa and watched six episodes of season one's UGLY BETTY boxed set. Watching it this way, in one series of sittings, really makes it seem more novel-like, a real page-turner!
On the subject of "Meadowlark," and I know we've been down this road before, just HOW MANY RECORDINGS ARE THERE of this song? a
Are there more than the nineteen or twenty listed at allmusic dot com?
-
Thanks to DR DAKOTA CELT for the link to the Burbank article last night.
But where was the picture of MR BK?
-
Chocolate covered grape with a raspberry on top and an cashew.
-
OMG it's 10:45.....
No wait....it's only 9:45. Work today but only for SIX hours.
-
GIFT OF LOVE......I remember that movie with close personal friend of DR ELMORE, Lauren Bacall.
-
And the word of the day is: GUERDON!
Every night, Frannie the waitress would UNDERGO all sorts of trials and tribulations to please her customers, only to receive a GUERDON of two nickles per table, if that. Such was life at McDonalds.
-
Has anyone finished Murder At Hollywood High yet?
Our copy has yet to arrive. :'(
I hope it wasn't sent to the old Long Beach address. :o
-
...On the subject of "Meadowlark," and I know we've been down this road before, just HOW MANY RECORDINGS ARE THERE of this song?
Are there more than the nineteen or twenty listed at allmusic dot com?
Oh, just what the world needs, a marathon "Meadowlark" musicalle. :P
-
I got up at eight and yet it's seven. I guess I'll got back to bed and get up at eight again, or even nine again.
-
Good morning!
Cold morning, but promises to warm up this afternoon and we're supposedly back to 70 tomorrow for a high. Don't mind that at all. I'm still having to run my central heat, however. The mornings are just too chilly without it.
-
Books were all sent to correct addresses.
-
I for one am DELIGHTED to get out of daylight savings time. When I woke up at 7:15 this morning, the sun was actually UP! It has been very hard getting up the last few weeks and it's pitch black for seemingly HOURS in the morning.
And I don't think it's a coincidence that I slept almost 8 hours, the most I've slept during one night in months.
-
I did have time to watch episode 9 of BERLIN this morning. A very talky episode. We're in 1928 now, and the discontent of the German people with the depression there and feelings of unworthiness are allowing various political regimes to begin to gain a foothold. I hope episode 10 will get back to more story and less politicizing.
-
Hmmm....free for all day.....what is everyone's favorite Free For All in a movie?
Mine include:
The Challange Dance-Barn Raising from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
AND
The courtroom scene in What's Up Doc?
To begin with.
"You made me break my life savers!"
-
I am legally bald.

Has anyone finished Murder At Hollywood High yet?
I got the book yesterday and I have started to read it/
-
Page Two Harry, Ron, and Semus Dance!!!

Favorite free-for-all?
Any Marx Brothers movie.
-
Thanks for the correction, DR MBarnum. I don't know from Bollywood, obviously. Or even Tollywood.
You are quite welcome, I am sure. I'm always happy to brainwash convert educate on the merits of Bollywood.
-
So let it be written.
-
I will be with BERLIN all day today in an effort to get closer to its conclusion. There's en entire disc of supplements once I've finished the 14 episodes.
But, of course, I will take time out for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, BROTHERS & SISTERS, and will record DEXTER. Looks like CBS' line-up will be pushed back due to NFL football, so I'll miss COLD CASE tonight. I'm not going to try to program the DVR to catch shows that get moved out of their time periods by football overruns this season. I'll just have to miss those episodes.
-
I've finally finished (for the moment) my Jessica's Biscuit wishlish.
It only runs something like two hundred seventy-eight items. A trifle, really, particularly since, in the latter stages of compiling the list, I automatically ruled out books that ran more than ten dollars or were less than a fifty percent discount. (Eliminating those volumes that are less than fifty percent off, plus the first delivery, which count as wishes already granted, there are only one hundred and eighty three books on the list, so I'm hardly being extravagant at all!)
Exactly when der Brucer will OK the next batch of books is another matter.
-
The only television I'm planning on watching tonight is Next Iron Chef.
For NIC contestant John Besh fans, the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/31/dining/31besh.html?_r=2&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&ref=dining&adxnnlx=1194186192-0pQ/KcruLaQz14qUqoBoOw) had a nice profile on him a few days ago, including the following comment:
“When he went through his foam phase it was a little nauseating,” said Poppy Tooker, a local cooking teacher. “It was like crawfish jelly with spit on top.”
-
Time to get ready for work!
-
I am leaving for work, too.....and tonight...THE AMAZING RACE - with its starting time probably delayed because of FootBall!
-

I think you can go to the bank on that prediction. What a shame that on its season premiere, the show doesn't actually get to start on time.
-
I guess I'll head back down and start back up with Mr. Fastbinder's epic. Then, I'll think about fixing some lunch.
WBBL.

Has anyone finished Murder At Hollywood High yet?
Some of us have not received our copies yet, Bruce.

Anti-stress vibes to Elmore...

I was also hoping to see bk's smiling face but alas Matt is just as nice

It starts on time on the West Coast.

from TCB
I haven't seen Pamela in years, but she was born here in Tacoma. She is a wonderful lady and a fine actress, who a lot of people don't even recognize by name.
i knew who she was, before K. COP & enjoy her as an actress. i like knowing she is the nice person she seems to be. Reed, great family name to give her son.
-
PAGE THREE

-
i looked up Pamela Reed to see what her son's last name is. i found her husband directed an episode of a series i should have mentioned yesterday, the wonderful BROOKLYN BRIDGE. Marion Ross won a well deserved emmy for her work on this show.
-
My Horoscope this morning says, "An investment might manifest the shades of the rainbow."
Now, what the Hell does that mean? Where's Jrand?

-
Jose, I should have known you could answer my wolferman’s question. ;D
Singdaw-funny pumpkin photo. :D

As long as she doesn't let him go by Reed Reed, I think that is an honor to her parents and her family name.
-
TCB- ;D
-
I think that Pamela thought her Braodway carreer was set when she got to star in a new Neil Simon comedy. Unfortunately, it was FOOLS.
-
I loved Pamela, Judd Hirsch, Martin Balsam and Gene Saks in the little seen film THE GOODBYE PEOPLE, based on the Herb Gardner play.
-

I never got to see BROOKLYN BRIDGE. I think it aired on Friday nights, and I was always on stage on Fridays.
-
i don't remember her from clan...vace bears, which must be a good thing. i loved the book but couldn't imagine how they could make a good movie of it. i never imagined it would be sooo bad.

Neither did she.

Just dropping in. Must do some tax research.
-
If I remember correctly, I think she played Daryl Hannah's adopted mother.

From Bruce:
George, most of those scribbles were done while I was in bed with the light off.
;D
nice little addition to the book & definitely unexpected. :)

Very cool, BK.

maybe that explains it's lack of viewers. air a show about a jewish family on friday night when all the "good" jews are in temple & not home to up the ratings.
-

Iza-yes.

Gee, I hadn't thought of it that way.

Where in the heck is everyone today?
-
i didn't think about it at the time. it truly was a wonderful, intelligent show.
seems i have been left alone, again. ;D
-
Back from an errand or three and will soon be on my way to the band rehearsal.
-
I had a couple of bite-size Almond Joys for energy.
-
Or, I had some energy for two bite-size Almond Joys.
-
I'm going to be a very good boy today, food-wise, and tomorrow as well.
-
Are we STILL on page three? Everyone must be off reading Murder At Hollywood High.
-
Will we never get to page four?
-
I will single-handedly take us to page four.
-
I remember a failed pilot called KEEP THE FAITH, which I thought was just terrific. It dealt with two rabbis, played by Howard Da silva and Bert Convy - and I have fond memories of the pilot show. There was some clever stuff about the meaning of the bar mitzvah, just around the time that my bar-mitzvah was a big part of my life.
-
Back to tax research
-
I think that Pamela thought her Braodway carreer was set when she got to star in a new Neil Simon comedy. Unfortunately, it was FOOLS.
Yes, she was very excited about finally appearing in a Broadway show and it was Simon's first real flop.
-
Today's MSN Headline:
Remants of Noel rake Northeast
Personally I think that's going above and beyond--Lord knows there are a *lot* of leaves to rake in the Northeast and what with an injured hand and all, it's really indicative of how helpful Noel is--EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO NAMING DECADES-OLD TV THEMES. ;D ;D ;D (He PM'd me about it--he doesn't know, either). ;)
-
I loved Pamela, Judd Hirsch, Martin Balsam and Gene Saks in the little seen film THE GOODBYE PEOPLE, based on the Herb Gardner play.
We were friendly with her when she was filming Goodbye People. She had done some film and television and lots of theatre in New York but I think this was one of her first big film roles and she was treated well, although she had a hectic schedule and would talk about having the car arrive to take her to the set at something like 4:00am.
We were also with her one night when she got the news that she had a role in one of her first big made-for-telvision movies. If I recall correctly, it was the one where she was a reporter who really needed a job and ended up working for an Enquirer-type rag. It was called Scandal Sheet. She was so excited that she wanted to celebrate so we all went to the Oak Room at the Algonquin. What a wonderful evening that was.
-
I've gotten most of my Sunday chores completed. I still have the guest bathroom to clean, but otherwise, I have been busy.
-
As far as viewing goes, I spent all afternoon watching the remaining episodes on BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ. Still, there is a two hour epilogue that I'll be watching when I go back down.
I also took at peak at the supplemental disc. It contains the 1931 movie version of the novel (I think it runs about 100 minutes) along with a bunch of documentaries on the miniseries and the remastering of it for this disc. I would say there looks to be at least two-three hours of supplements.
-
The story was very sad, of course, and quite depressing when one looks at the entire 13 episodes. The few momoents of peace and happiness that happen to Franz are always taken away by something horrendous almost before he can enjoy them. Allusions are often made to Job during the show, and they're apt references.
-
Guess I'll head down now and get the last of the Sunday chores done. Then, back to the TV for the epilogue of BA.
WBBL.
-
Where in the heck is everyone today?
Today, I went to my sister's house to put up some shelves for her new shed. It was pretty easy, but loud (I had to pound the metal support beams together). Now I'm at home and am watching last night's 13th season premiere of "Mad TV" in their new studio. I'm only about 20 minutes into the one hour show and they have yet to perform anything live for the audience. It's all been filmed clips...very funny stuff, but nothing (so far) has been performed in front of the audience. We'll see what the rest of it will be like. After that will be multiple episodes of shows that I haven't caught up on..."Las Vegas," "Dirty Sexy Money," "Samantha Who," and several others. I know I won't get to all of them, but I should get a good start. And at 6:00 pm will be rehearsal until 10:00 pm. It'll be a long night. :P
Until later!
-

I was disappointed that Brooklyn Bridge did not do better in the ratings. I rather enjoyed it.

On my screen just popped up the most heinous ad at teh top of the screen...
Sign up for Anne Coulter news letter...... I think not!

Back from a lovely day in Cincinnati. DH Richard conducted a flawless morning prayer service and then we went out to lunch with DS Rob and DG Mary Linda. Richard and I stopped at Kenwood Towne Center, where I bought 3 shirts and 3 pairs of shoes for myself and 5 of those peanut butter and jelly spreaders for Christmas stockings (Richard, Rob, ML, my mother, my aunt).
The latter I found at Williams-Sonoma, where I commended the staff on all the Thanksgiving displays they had - most other stores have gone from Halloween right on to Christmas. I love the Thanksgiving accoutrements and am about to bring ours up from the basement and deck the halls with turkeys and pilgrims and such.
-
WS knows how to decorate their stores. i believe portland is our closet store, too far for a day trip.
-
Just now, I walked back over to the church to feed the fish in the fountain, whom I had forgotten in the hectic morning. I decided to do a walk-around and check all the doors, since I had not been the one to lock up this morning.
When I went around the back side, which faces the street, there in a crevice I found a trembling dog. Luckily he had tags and I had a cell phone. He was worn out enough that he let me read the tag and call the number on the tag.
The person was stunned. He correctly described the dog and said he was making a U-turn that instant. I directed him to the church and brought him around to where the dog was. The dog wearily stood up when he saw the man, and we could see he had an injured leg. The dog had been out on the street for several days.
So a lost dog has been returned home to a grateful family.
I invited the owner to come visit us sometime and told him that he was the recipient of an answered prayer today.
:)
-
DR Laura you must be feeling much better than yesterday. such a touching story, brought tears to my eyes.
-
I just found him on a lost pet website. There was a $200 reward for him.
-
it is beautiful here today so we took Sherlock for a, far too short for me, hike and then went into town for lunch.
the only restaurants with outdoor seating, away from the sidewalks, were the ones that don't allow dogs. i went to the the restaurant we wanted to dine at and the waitress was kind enough to set us us up outside.
-
Yesterday was a frustrating day.
Today was too.
So I'm glad to have a happy story.
-
lol-were u offered a reward?

No. It is on the lost dog website.

DR Laura - very sweet, and I think you deserve the reward!
Speaking of dogs, DR Jane, before church I met Rob and Mary Linda at Starbucks and as we were leaving ML pointed out a Bernese whose people were having coffee outside. That dog was beautiful and HUGE!

Sounds like they'll need the $$ for vet care
-
DR Laura, maybe they'll still give you a reward. I'm sure the shock and joy of knowing their dog was found and the concern over his condition may have put the reward right out of their minds.....well, one can hope
-
DD Dixie Bell (and I) think that DR DearReaderLaura should be made a saint.
-
Do you have a Priscilla and John?
Well, I do have a set of pilgrim salt & pepper shakers - I guess they're now named :D They're standing in the shadow box above the piano, along with some turkey figures, etc.
-
i doubt dr laura would have accepted the reward, i was just curious. i hope they let you know how he is doing.
ginny, how big? did u ask his weight?
-
...
ginny, how big? did u ask his weight?
We were running a little late to get back to church, so didn't stop to talk. I'm listening to the last of the Mitford books by Jan Karon, in which Father Tim acquires a dog that he describes as being "the size of a Buick." This one appeared to be in that category.
-
It is what any person would do. Luckily I had a cell phone and the owner had his phone with him. He said he was headed out to hike and would have left his phone in his car.
I wouldn't take a reward, but if he wanted, he could give it to the church.
I usually check that door from the inside. I'm glad I walked around outside.
-
DR Laura, if i'm mistaken i've just put my foot in my mouth, something i'm an expert at ;D
-
i was too late posting that-lol
-
yesterday there was a flyer on our mailbox for a lost dog. i'm keeping the flyer in my car, just in case. unfortunately found notices never get sent out.
-
Well, I do have a set of pilgrim salt & pepper shakers - I guess they're now named :D They're standing in the shadow box above the piano, along with some turkey figures, etc.
That would be Priscilla and John Alden. You must know the story. When Miles Standish wanted to marry Priscilla Mullins, he sent John Alden to do it for him. When he asked she said "Speak for yourself, John" and she and John got married. I've always loved that story. It's originally from Longfellow's The Courtship of Miles Standish. Anyway, all the little pilgram couples you find are generally accepted to be Priscilla and John.
Of course that has always made Thanksgiving my holiday.
-
Yes, DR Cillaliz, I do know the story, just hadn't ever thought of this particular couple in that way. I can see why it has special meaning for you - sort of like I always think, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" is being spoken directly to me!

It is sort of sad to think a great romance has been immortalized on salt and pepper shakers that people get out for a month or so every year.
-
You will be happy to know my mother is getting out her Thanksgiving decorations today.
-
I worked in the yard with my leaf vacuum/mulcher for a couple hours today. I have SOOO many leaves, you can't tell I cut down 8 trees
-
;D
:D
-
Actually, I've always wanted to say "Speak for yourself, John". I've done it a couple times out of context to men named John. I don't think they had the slightest idea what I was talking about
-
60 minutes is just starting, football ran late, so TAR fans, it will be on in 1 hour
-
I'm off the anti-inflammatory meds. I was able to prevent a stomach pains. I reduced the increased GERD pain. There is nothing I can do to stop the heart palpitations but stop taking the pills. It’s a shame cuz I think it was making a difference.

I survived the jaunt to Brooklyn even with the F train screwing up the trip by not stopping where we needed to be. We got to the Gallery Players in plenty of time, and sat with the subscribers, the Polydent Crowd consisting of too many alta kakas talking loudly and rustling their cellophane throughout the performance. I enjoyed YANK! but not as much as I wanted. Surprisingly, I thought Act One was fascinating and that Act Two was a bit of a let-down. Good cast, and god musical direction by my friend Dan Feyer who was MD for the San Francisco production of NIGHT OF THE HUNTER in 2004. It was great to see three friends in the cast as well.
And now I'm back and chilling out.
-
I was always on stage on Fridays.
On stage?
On deck?
On call?
On tour?
-
Whew! A long day...left the house at 7:00 AM and just got home. For some reason, churches think that they need to observe All Soul's on the closest Sunday!
Laura, that is a great story...such a wonderful happy ending.
***CONTINUED VIBES*** to DR Jane.
I am about 20 pages from finishing bk's new book. Am going to try to do that now.
-
elmore, i enjoyed the description of your day & the alta kakas. makes me think of my father. as he approached his nineties he would ask how old he was, having forgotten. when i would tell him he always laghed & exclaimed "i'm an old alta kaka!"

thank u singdaw

But DR CILLA LIZ - think of all the great romances from the past that are un-remembered AT ALL!!! ;D
-
Well Pamela Reed may be a fine person and all, but she has been on my Black List since she whacked Carroll Baker out of her cha cha heels in KINDERGARTEN COP....
"You're not so stuff without your car, are ya?!"

Guess it does sort of say "spicy" doesn't it

Waiting for TAR to start.....waiting....waiting....watching BRIDEZILLA instead of 60 MINUTES which really has overstayed its welcome with me.
DR GEORGE - I thought the MAD Tv premiere was a bit flat, and they certainly are light on the GUY side - sorry that Ike Barenholtz is gone.
They now tape at the Music Box Theatre in LA, wherever that may be.
-

Shake that thang! ;D

jrand-lol

We had a 1956 Alta Kaka convertible....it would never start in damp weather.
-
I guess DR KERRY and I are the only bald HHW'ers to have a favorite movie free for all.
-
Laura, glad you were able ot reunite the dog with his owner. You are a truly a gentle and kindly soul.
-
My Horoscope this morning says, "An investment might manifest the shades of the rainbow."
Now, what the Hell does that mean? Where's Jrand?

Have you taken a gander at our varicolored paper money lately?

I brought my volunteer tomato plant into the foyer before it froze. I left it in there a week or so and today, after not seeing any bugs or other creatures around it, I brought it into the dining room where it will get a lot of south sun. I don't know if I'll get tomatoes, but it does have blossoms already. What the heck, it's kind of fun to have it inside.
-
Continued vibes to DR Jane!
-
Somewhat quiet at work tonight...

I had to turn the channel when they got to the story about poachers killing elephants. I just can't watch that sort of thing...so what am I watching? A show about a double homicide. LOL, for some reason that doesn't bother me.

We had a 1956 Alta Kaka convertible....it would never start in damp weather.

I finished Murder at Hollywood High last night before I went to sleep. I enjoyed it very much
-
does that make u the 1st person to finish it?
-
You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd, but that fact was NOT reported on 60 MINUTES.
DR LAURA, thanks for sharing the story about the found canine. Perhaps your business card should read Laura of Assissi.
-
does that make u the 1st person to finish it?
I have read the blurbs!! ::)
-
I am hoping to get some LEAF pics tomorrow. If they haven't all turned brown and fallen off....I want some RED and YELLOW.....
-
I have been watching BRIDEZILLA - and appreciating my sisters and nieces even more than I ever did...and that's a lot.
How many brothers and sisters does everyone have?
I have four brothers and three sisters!
Michael, [Jack], Paula, Myrna, Dane, Kent, David, and Molly
-
And now I have finished the book, too. Really enjoyed it...great fun.
And I didn't see the outcome until it was revealed! :D
bk, doesn't it drive you crazy to work on a book for the better part of a year and to then see it devoured in a few hours? Sort of like Thanksgiving dinner, but on a grander scale...
-
One younger sister.
And no favorite free-for-alls.
-
It is sort of sad to think a great romance has been immortalized on salt and pepper shakers that people get out for a month or so every year.
That's because the Pilgrims had that great romance, and the Shakers didn't.
(The Shakers believed in celibacy, of course.)

One older sister, and we get along well. We don't see each other often, so maybe that's part of it.

I see that DR SWW thought there was no "I" in that word. 8)

There was always someone to do things with when I was growing up, and we put on some good plays and musicals in the neighborhood, too, as you may imagine. :D
-
My brother is 6 years older than I am and my sister was 4 ½ years older. After my sister was born my mother was told not to have more children. Without informing my father she decided to have me. :)
-
...How many brothers and sisters does everyone have?
...
I have just one sister. She's a nasty, conniving bitch. We don't get along.

Way to go, Mom!

Herb Gardner was in my Freshman Class at Carnegie(Tech) Mellon in the Drama Department. He dropped out of College after that year.
He was a very talented man. He created The Nebbishes and wrote many wonderful plays including THIEVES and I'M NOT RAPPAPORT and CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER and A THOUSAND CLOWNS
-
Lesley Stahl is FRIGHTENING in HD.....I mean scary.....

Celibacy?
I see that DR SWW thought there was no "I" in that word. 8)
"I have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about," he said in his very best BK impersonation.
;D

Last night, at the par-tay that der Brucer and I attended, a number of the guests kept looking at me and asking "Where do I know you from?" I told them that I work at the supermarket, same as Joe (one of the hosts), at which they would say "Oh, YES!" and then would tell der B about how nice I am. Der B just rolled his eyes and nodded politely.
-
DR ARNOLD BROCKMAN - nearly a decade ago, we I was in a production of CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER (I played the old drunk, of course), I wrote Mr. Gardner a note and he sent a nice autograph and asked for some photos of our show, which we sent.
And he wrote one of the funniest lines I ever heard onstage in THIEVES... (I think) -
"Come on over and have a drink. I'm up to my ass in French Provincial."
-
DD Dixie Bell (and I) think that DR DearReaderLaura should be made a saint.
I think she is already a saint.
-
Der B just rolled his eyes and nodded politely.
What, he didn't believe them? ;)

Sneaky snake. ;)

I have one brother and one sister. My sister and I don't get along and haven't spoken since last March. She's jhvw's mom. My brother is Samantha's dad. I get a long with him
-
Well, I do have a set of pilgrim salt & pepper shakers - I guess they're now named :D They're standing in the shadow box above the piano, along with some turkey figures, etc.
I am glad you didn't say Tom turkey figures!

I agree!

"Tis The Gift to be Simple-Tis the Gift to be Free" A wonderful Shaker song called SIMPLE GIFTS that AARON COPLAND adopted in his wonderful APPALACHIAN SPRING.
I was fortunate in my younger years to attend for three years SHAKER VILLAGE WORK CAMP in The Berkshires. It was a dream of Jerome and Sybil Count to have Teenagers perserve a Shaker

Oh, you should have been a fly on the wall at the meeting yesterday. I have never seen people turn on me like that.

i was easy like my brother.
DR Jane -

You shouldn't really say such things on HHW, since you know some DR might easily take that out of context.
:P

Just set us all on them!

"My father is almost 60 years old, I want to treasure every minute we have together" One of the intro quotes on TAR, lol

No, I believe that BK was the first one to finish the book.

i get along well with my brother :)

No. It is on the lost dog website.
Here is the skinny dog. The photo is from the lost dog website.

Thank God I have friend like you! I can be a lost dog myself sometimes, and no reward i ever offered. Thanks for letting me know something good.

If Richard Hatch had appeared on The Amazing Race instead of Survivor, would that have made him a TARheel?
-
It takes you a year to cook Thanksgiving dinner?

Step One: Take the turkey out of the freezer.
-
Oh, you should have been a fly on the wall at the meeting yesterday. I have never seen people turn on me like that.
Well, you did imply the F word yesterday.
-
Oh-oh, don't tell DS Betsy department: My lovely wife left for a business trip to Bend for a few days. I took the kids to Freddy's to buy some extremely nutritious fare like Kid's Cuisine, and happened to check in to Home Electronics, where they've had some Samsung HDTV's on clearance (reduced price, plus 20% off). I had said I'd get one if the % off increased, and lo and behold, it was up to 30% today. So I got a nice 32 inch Samsung (with fantastic reviews--I've done a bit of internet poking around, LOL, before thinking of the purchase) with built in tuner, two HDMI inputs (which means a hi-def DVD player is no doubt in my future) for around $600. I'm really happy.
Had a momentary worry when I wasn't receiving the 480i & p definitions (don't you hate it when that happens), but it turns out this tv requires my DirectTV "native" setting to be off for it to get those resolutions (I'm sure you knew that--well at least MattH did ;) ).
-
It takes you a year to cook Thanksgiving dinner?

No, that is why I said "sort of...on a grander scale." :)
Although I probably would fret and worry about it for a year, if I ever had to do such a thing!
-
I have one sister. My three younger brothers each died mysteriously on their first birthday. ;)
But seriously, I have only the one sister, who is three years older than I am. We survived my Mom's death, the trials, the lawsuits, the settling of the estate, and we still sit right next to each other at work every day. I guess you would say we get along.
-
I don't think I will ever buy an HDTV unless I can afford someone to install and calibrate it for me.
-
So, dog owners, be sure your dog has a tag with a current cell phone number on it. And keep your phone on if you lose your dog! Someone might call.
-
Well, you did imply the F word yesterday.
It was very ugly.
-
I just don't go when she's there
I couldn't do that & could only hope she wouldn't show. As my father got older family gatherings were often at her house, once she kicked me out near the end of the evening after I had said something nice to her. Most often at the gatherings the time would come when she would yell at me.
Now when I go to see my family I don't leave with a stomach ache.
-
TCB-That is great. do you also celebrate holidays with your sister?
-
Good Morning! Good Afternoon! Good Evening!
I'm up, I'm up... yadda-yadda-yadda...

Christmas. She doesn't do Thanksgiving.

MY SISTER'S AN ONLY CHILD.
We are sad to say(she is six years older than I) estranged.
-
As for siblings... I have three younger brothers: Don, Michael and Jay. We basically came one right after the other. In fact, my brother, Don, was a month premature, so for one month each year, we are the same age - otherwise, we could have had the same birthday. Additionally, each of us were born on a holiday. Jay was born on New Year's. Michael was born on Halloween. Don was born when the first man landed on the moon. And I was born on Women's Liberation Day. ;)
-
I still have to go to rehearsal tonight. This is for the second (and last) Musical Murder Mystery Dinner of the fall season. The performance is next Saturday. I wouldn't say I have a lot of lines in this one, but I went through two highlighters and the script is only 25 pages long.
-
I have one sister, Nancy, almost 10 years older. Our mother says she had 2 only children. My sister married and had her children very young, while I was a 30-year-old bride and had Rob when I was almost 35. My mother's grandchildren are 44, 41, and 22. Given those differences, plus some cultural and geographic distances, my sister and I get along surprisingly well.
-
Hmmm, the Federal Bank of Nigeria is having problems issuing me my money.
-
I don't think I will ever buy an HDTV unless I can afford someone to install and calibrate it for me.
I had this baby up and running in about 10 minutes, tops. They're actually incredibly easy.
-
I was waiting up for marathon news about DR JoseSPiano's brother, but I guess I'll have to get it tomorrow morning. G'night, folks!
-
Speaking of rehearsals, I just got hired (yet again) after some Musical Director flaked and left a troupe in turmoil. This time, it's R&H's Cinderella, and I actually have a little time to prepare (unlike Carousel, where I got the call at 4 for a 7 o'clock curtain--oy). The director has set it in the 50s and wants a jazz trio sound, but he is offering woefully little money for a band (what else is new?). So I'm trying to talk him into letting me do multitrack recordings, with which I'll play live. He's also interpolating the non-Cinderella tunes that were used in the Brandy version. Good thing I like "Sweetest Sounds." ;)
-
It is very unusual for Jrand not to be the first to finish. I'm thrilled two people finished it so fast and seemed to like it.
Singdaw and Cilla, please be the first to write amazon reviews - it's very important.
-
And now I am getting offered a good deal on land in Costa Rica
-
We had a fun rehearsal with no real meltdowns, and we had the full band and they sound great. We were also able to run almost everything from the other day so the people who weren't there, band-wise, had a chance to play through. As always, West End Avenue continues to defy musicians. I've recorded it twice and it's never easy and today was no different, but by the end of it they had it down.
-
And now I relax - all the work I can do is done and I want to be in fresh, energetic shape for tomorrow's crazy day.

MY SISTER'S AN ONLY CHILD.
We are sad to say(she is six years older than I) estranged.
that is sad. i tried extremely hard not to let that happen. after my father passed away i'm not sure it wouldn't have finally come to that, if my sister hadn't passed away 3 months later.

Bruce, HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW!

'night

Got back a little while ago from a fabulously entertaining concert of Jeff Blumenkrantz's songs at Birdland. Adinah Alexander (one of the stars of Last Starfighter at NYMF) was glorious, as were Donna Lynne Champlin, Laura Patinkin and Alysha Umphress. Also a cameo by a fine performer named David Perlman. A lovely evening, my first evening out since my horrible gout bout.
-
You were out with your gout? What's that about?
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I'm watching a motion picture on DVD.
-
A SHORT STORY -A Gout bout. . Don't flout it .Forget about it(if you can)Don't shout about it. Be stout about it.There's no doubt about it.Don't Pout about it, Feel Better about it
THE END
-
After that, I may watch another motion picture on DVD.
-
Are we STILL on page eight?
-
Will we never get to page nine?
-
I will single-handedly take us to page nine.

And speaking of my youngest brother, Jay...
He finished the ING New York City Marathon in about 4 hours and 20 minutes!
Needless to say, I am very proud of him. And of all the runners who completed the race today.
I left my meeting around 2:00 and started walking up Central Park West to 86th street which is where my brother's finishing area was. I was literally walking among thousands of runners - there were almost 40,000(!) runners this year - as well as throngs of family, friends and onlookers. Just observing the various looks on people's faces was quite an emotional roadtrip... -People were crying tears of joy... Others because they didn't finish in the time they had wanted... Others from pain... A satisfied smile, a very satisfied smile... The look of joy on their faces when they spotted a family member in the crowd... Watching four boys run up to their mother with bouquets of roses... Seeing a runner holding up a picture of a loved one who had died...
I had been receiving texts each time my brother finished 5 kilometers, and eventually when he had finished the race. When I got his "Finish" text, I texted his phone, and told him where I was waiting. He texted me back, "It's really slow here at the finish area. I'm really hurting. Call Maria." So, I called Maria, and started "actively" waiting for my brother at the finish area - it would take him about 15-20 minutes to get the Park exit.
I saw Maria run out of the crowd and run up to him. I followed right behind her. And it turned out that another friend of his from California had come out this weekend to cheer him on. Jay looked fine...

So it is written, so it shall be done - page nine.
-
As if by Wizardry-Page 9
-
Thankfully, by the time Jay had exited Central Park, he was feeling better. He explained that all he wanted to do after he crossed the finish line was to lie down and stretch for a bit, but since there were so many people at the finish line there was just no room to do that. -And he still had that 14-block walk through the Park to get to his exit area. So, he took advantage of the 14-block walk to step to the side of walking path to stretch for a bit - he said some medical personnel came toward him because they thought he was going to get sick and/or collaspe. But, again he was fine. Although...

I am starting to read RIGHT NOW!!!
-
Congratulations to JAY brother of DR JOSE.
I enjoyed TAR tonight - but I refuse to say anything else, even if I don't mention a name, a team, a destination, OR a commercial break - I am ALWAYS accused of being a spoiler.
So....enjoy, fans.
-
There's the bell....I am off to Hollywood High.
-
After trying to take a train back down to Chelsea - the trains really were messed up today - we headed back out of the station and hailed a cab back down to Chelsea. Jay stretched some more, got cleaned up, and then we headed out to dinner. Since we were in Chelsea, we went to one of my favorite Chinese places, Grand Sichuan.
We ordered lots of food, lots of good. And I believe I had one of the spiciest dishes I've had in a long time: Housemade Tofu in Spicy Sauce with Pork. Well, it sure was Spicy! My eyes practically started watering when the dish was placed on the table. And once I took my first bite... HOT!!!!! Good, but HOT!!!!! Thankfully, after a few more bites, I started to get acclimated to all the hot chile sauce - and sweating too. :)
Then on the way back from restaurant, we stopped into Choux Factory to pick up some Cream Puffs for dessert. YUM!
All in all, a wonderful day, and it really was great getting to spend some time with my brothers.
-
And, yes, I just watched the season premiere of "The Amazing Race"....
:-X
-
Maybe DotM (Dance of the - what?) will come post again - perhaps I should post something fun for DotM to respond to.
-
Jrand could still be the first to review. Yes, it's The Amazing Race.

Is that where the expression Jack the Spoiler comes from?

Valarie Pettiford and Raymond Del Barrio are going to blow the roof off the theater if today is anything to go by.

And, as promised, here are some pics from our outing on Friday night...

BK - Tonight is the night of the NYMF Awards Gala. Maybe you could riff on that.
-
And the opening number sounded really good, and they were all kind of marking the choreography and it seemed like they had it down. The young boy, Zane, is great.

Here are my brothers, Mike, Jay, myself, and my brother's friend, Steve.

It actually made perfect sense to me, which is probably frightening.

And changing gears for a bit, here are the two new "Jane Banks", Alexandra Berro and Lila Coogan:

And as of last week, they have both made their Broadway debuts! :)

There was a touring company of WSS here a few years ago. At the climax, the gun didn't fire. He tried again--nothing. So he threw the gun at Tony (no joke). Tony fell down. Punchline: sound effect of gun firing about 2 seconds later.

of their outings on a business trip. My mother died when I was 5 years old

father on match 19th 2006, in a private hospital in Freetown, he secretly
called me by his bed side and told me of a deposit of 26 million united state
dollars (Twenty Six MILLION DOLLARS) he concealed in a SECURITY
COMPANY in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire on the 2nd of JANUARY 2005 that he
used my name been the only son as the next of kin when he deposited the
money. the FUND WAS concealed IN TRUNK box as "family valuables and
precious items".My father used this method to deposit the boxes safely
through a diplomatic channel. They security company has no knowladge
about the content of the Box.
He warned me that because of enemy that he was poisoned by his close
associates. He also advised me to seek for an honest foreigner in a
country of my choice those associates will not hurt me as they have
succeeded in poisoning him and as at that time he don't know the faith of
his sickness but he has been very weak and was considering if he will
survive or not.
For your information, it has been difficult to know who is an honest
person to assist me in this transaction, and for me to continue silent over
looking for assistance while my money is in the in Security Company, i
decided to make a try from you,
I arrived here (ABIDJAN) in a nearby country not quite long ago, since my
uncle wants to kill me because of this certificate of deposit as he have
succeeded in collecting all my father's property left with this one only.
They continuously mal-treated me, and have made life very unbearable for
me. Only to get the deposit certificate from me, because he found the
deposit from the WILL my father made when the illness was too much and
he included the deposit in the Abidjan. He has succeeded in getting every
other property in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The wife have serve me a delicious poisoned rice meal last time, but for
the Divine mercy the daughter secretly whispered to me not to eat the
meal, I wasted the meal to the bin only to find two dead rat on the bin the
following morning and that made me to run away immediately.
And I don't want to stay long here since I know nobody or much money to
pay for hotel bill.I honourably seek your assistance in the following ways:
1.To stand as my late father's foreign partner since my late father
deposited it to be claim by his foreign partner and no name was mentioned,

...And I could not believe how crowded the gym was this morning! -Yes, I finally made it back to the gym - although, I really only was "away" for two days. In any case...
There were lots of people at the gym this morning, and a lot of them thought it was social hour. I was trying to go through my resistance circuit, but each time I got to a machine, someone was just lazing away... Talking with their personal trainer... From the gym! One woman just kept sitting on one machine - I think she was there for at least 20 minutes - so I just went ahead and skipped that machine for the moment. Of course, when I came back, she was still "working out"... while she was talking with her trainer. Grrrrr... She was asking him just how much weight she should be using and how many reps... "Oh.. OK... Well, let me adjust the pin, and I'll start again." -Of course, after sitting on that machine for more than 20 minutes, well... -Excuse me, are you done yet? If you're resting between sets, could we just switch off?. -Oh... Well, you want to use this machine? You know that that one does the same thing... No it doesn't... (And if her trainer was really paying attention to her, well...)... But I did eventually get my workout finished, and then it was back home for quick breakfast and shower before heading to my meeting...

Well, it looks like things are falling into place for Thommie Walsh's memorial. There are still a bunch of details to be finalized, but the lists have been made... And now I have some practicing to do. :)
-
All I will say about Next Iron Chef (for now) is that there are now just two chefs left in the competition.
And I'm about ready to sack out.
-
One thing that was shared at today's meeting were a set of Commandments that Thommie Walsh had delivered to the graduating class of Auburn (NY) High School, his hometown alma mater. And now I share them with you:
1. People are unreasonable, illogical and self centered.
LOVE THEM ANYWAY!
2. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
DO GOOD ANYWAY!
3. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
SUCCEED ANYWAY!
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
DO GOOD ANYWAY!
5. Honesty and frankness makes you vulnerable.
BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY!
6. The biggest men with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men with the smallest minds.
THINK BIG ANYWAY!
7. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
FIGHT FOR SOME UNDERDOGS ANYWAY!
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
BUILD ANYWAY!
9. People really need help but may attack you if you help them.
HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY!
10. Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU'VE GOT ANYWAY!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES!
ALWAYS.

Hmmm... BK - That chocolate goodie sounds really good! Can you find out if he does mail order? ;D
*Of course, now I'm craving the Chocolate-Covered Grapes from Dinstuhl's in Memphis, TN.

On the subject of "Meadowlark," and I know we've been down this road before, just HOW MANY RECORDINGS ARE THERE of this song? a
Are there more than the nineteen or twenty listed at allmusic dot com?
I believe DR George may have the answer to that question. Or maybe even DR Matthew. I forget. ;)
-
As for favorite cinematic Free-For-Alls...
That big pie fight in that movie who's title I can't remember right now. ;)
-
I had a couple of bite-size Almond Joys for energy.
And then just a few posts later...
I'm going to be a very good boy today, food-wise, and tomorrow as well.
Hmmm.... ;D

Laters is actually Tomorrow-The Day before the Night of The Big Event.

DR DearReaderLaura - I'm sure you're the answer to a lot of prayers every day. :)
-
BLAZING SADDLES?
I'm not sure I'd qualify that scene as a pie fight. A free-for-all, yes,but not a pie fight. ;D
-
I don't think I will ever buy an HDTV unless I can afford someone to install and calibrate it for me.
I would charge you the same fee that I have charged everyone else I've helped with this: zip!
-
DR elmore - Good to hear that you sort of enjoyed Yank!. And I really do hope your stress level subsides soon. ~~~~~
-
THE AMAZING RACE also started on time here. I guess it wouldn't have been a big deal. But I like watching it at 8pm (especially with the time change).
I can't wait to discuss it tomorrow!
-

IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD?

Last night, at the par-tay that der Brucer and I attended, a number of the guests kept looking at me and asking "Where do I know you from?" I told them that I work at the supermarket, same as Joe (one of the hosts), at which they would say "Oh, YES!" and then would tell der B about how nice I am. Der B just rolled his eyes and nodded politely.
Well... I wonder what the other party guests are now saying about DR DerBrucer. ;)

Steve seems to be a very tall man (and very sexy, too).
-
I will also watch the NEXT IRON CHEF (although probably tomorrow).
Although i think you said we are a few episodes behind you. I"m really enjoying this. Hopefully i won't find out who gets eliminated and who wins before it airs (here)!
-
Oh-oh, don't tell DS Betsy department: My lovely wife left for a business trip to Bend for a few days.
Sooo... Are you just going to wait and see how long it takes her to notice the new TV when she gets back?
-
Steve seems to be a very tall man (and very sexy, too).
<nod>
...And very silly too, and a good sport. Although, I think he needs some time away from me right now. Especially after this pic was taken...

-Yes, that's my left hand. ;D

I finally got to the end of BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ. An absorbing miniseries to be sure. That two hour epilogue was one of the most unusual things I've ever seen, and no wonder it scandalized Germans when it was broadcast on TV 27 years ago. Most of the epilogue is a surreal tour of the main character's mind as he has a breakdown after the murder of his girl friend. Fassbinder pulled no punches in putting on film the orgies, S&M rituals, all manner of bizarre imagery featuring all of the characters which had taken part in the previous 13 episodes - several of whom were dead at that point.
As I said, unusual.
-
Well... I have a full day of auditions ahead of me tomorrow and Tuesday for Hong Kong Disney. And since I do want to get to the gym tomorrow morning before heading into midtown...
Goodnight.
-
Great story DR Laura.
-
Next, I watched the 65 minute "making of" documentary made by the film editor of movie who is not the director of the Fassbinder Estate. Some very fascinating footage filmed during the making of the series showing Fassbinder directing, planning shots, etc. Lots of more recent comments from the main actors in the series, all four of them still living and with vivid memories of the pleasures of the shoot.
-
Almost through with movie number one, but am so tired, I may write notes early and just get to bed.
-
Good DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES episode tonight. Some good plot advancing moments setting up more intrigue to come.
-
And then BROTHERS & SISTERS also had some show altering developments happen. Next week promises to be even more explosive.
-
Oh...
Thanks for all the Vibes for my brother, Mike, and his family. I got a brief update today from him, and they're all doing fine, doing better. However, the coming week could be a bit "interesting" for lack of a better word - and also to be purposely ambiguous. Let's just hope that Time does indeed heal all wounds.
-
Greetings DR's
-
I should be able to finish with the ALEXANDERPLATZ set tomorrow. There are two more featurettes and then that original movie version of the novel. That should make an interesting contrast to the miniseries I've been watching for the last four days.
-
I've been in hibernation mode doing laundry and watching old episodes of Beauty and the Beast with Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman.
-
Actually Jose-I just remembered. The Biggest Pie Fight in the movies was in Blake Edwards THE GREAT RACE !
-
Actually Jose-I just remembered. The Biggest Pie Fight in the movies was in Blake Edwards THE GREAT RACE !
BINGO!
-
...And I just double-checked the info for my audition session tomorrow, and I actually don't start until 1:00! HOO and RAY! It will be nice to get a full eight hours of sleep tonight.
-
I am very sleepy and have a headache that I've had all day...I think it's time for sleep.
Sounds like you and your family had a great time together, DR Jose. Vibes for your brother Mike's family
-
Although, since I'm already sleepy, I believe I shall head to bed now anyway... Once again...
Goodnight.
-
I'm heading downstairs to bed as well.
Good night!

I don't think I will ever buy an HDTV unless I can afford someone to install and calibrate it for me.
Call me. Call Matt H. I know that I would be happy to make a house call.
-
I just got in from a mandatory staff meeting at Borders, which was quite well organized, informative, entertaining and surprising.
In the manager's employee recommendation portion, my name was called with nine others: we had the top percentage of Borders Rewards "sales" for the month of October! 65% of my sales included the "sale" of a Borders Rewards Card. . .and I've only been on the register TWO AND A HALF DAYS! Needless to say I'm happy to have been "honored" already - and to get a free cafe beverage for my efforts. (Coffee is already free, but we do have to pay for espresso-based beverages). 8)
-
I can't believe I really just posted that pic. ::)
I CAN!

Has any DR reader seen the Piaf bio-film, LA VIE EN ROSE? I'm listening to the fabulous soundtrack right now.
-
I would like to be Steve's boyfriend, please DR Jose.
-
I would like to be Steve's boyfriend, please DR Jose.
I think that we should start up a Haines His Way Dating service.
-
Went to my friend Jim's house tonight and he made T-Bone steaks which were very yummilicious. The we watched a $1 dvd that I picked up at Target today which contained an episode each of the old game shows QUEEN FOR A DAY, TO TELL THE TRUTH, WHAT'S MY LINE, I'VE GOT A SECRET, and a few others.
-
I must now watch TAR and Desp. Housewives so that I will be up to contributing in tomorrow's likely discussions of them! :D

Yes. It is wonderful.
I have found a bootl copy of the film online, but, it's in French with SWEDISH subtitles. . . . ???
-
Notes are written, and I'm going to try and post them at eleven and go to bed. We'll see how successful I am.
-
I got back from rehearsal about a half hour ago and my DVR DID NOT RECORD "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" OR "BROTHERS & SISTERS"!! :o It was as if it wasn't set at all, but it's supposed to record the whole season. I came home just in time to watch "B&S," so that's okay, but I'll have to wait until it's available on-line. :-\
-
DR GEORGE - I thought the MAD Tv premiere was a bit flat, and they certainly are light on the GUY side - sorry that Ike Barenholtz is gone.
I agree. He was very funny.
-
And now I have finished the book, too. Really enjoyed it...great fun.
And I didn't see the outcome until it was revealed! :D
bk, doesn't it drive you crazy to work on a book for the better part of a year and to then see it devoured in a few hours? Sort of like Thanksgiving dinner, but on a grander scale...
This sort of reminds me of a commercial for 7-11 movie rentals from several years ago. A guy walks up to the check-out counter with his movie choice and the guy behind the counter say, "This movie costs $44 million to make...and you get it for 99¢."
-
I have been watching BRIDEZILLA - and appreciating my sisters and nieces even more than I ever did...and that's a lot.
How many brothers and sisters does everyone have?
I have four brothers and three sisters!
Michael, [Jack], Paula, Myrna, Dane, Kent, David, and Molly
I have one older sister...and she's been married, but hasn't been since 1988. I don't think that she'll get married again. ::)
-
And speaking of my youngest brother, Jay...
He finished the ING New York City Marathon in about 4 hours and 20 minutes!
Needless to say, I am very proud of him. And of all the runners who completed the race today....
Congratulations to Jose's Marathoning Brother, Jay! :D

Greetings George!

So, you have an older sister -- I've got an older brother, who is a pain in the assets.

I've been finding lots of old tv shows online -- mostly from the 80's. However, I did find a couple of episodes of the Lone Gunmen -- which I thoroughly enjoyed the second time around.

My sister loved this show. I bought her the complete series on DVD for Christmas one year. I didn't get to watch enough episodes to develop an affection for it, but I loved them on The X-Files. :D

oops, had to fix that.
