Well, you've read the notes, you judged the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - their pondering their verdict right now.
-
And the word of the day is: DYSPHAGIA!
-
What a very busy posting day we had yesterday - close to six hundred postings.
-
Welcome KayeKid - are you Deena Kaye or someone associated with The Kid From Brooklyn?
-
This post is for Bruce, even though I don't know how to get a hold of him. I am responding to your post about The Kid from Brooklyn you saw in CA at the El Portal. I am the alleged unfunny stubby kaye. Would love to discuss with you the show and give some explanations to you and your posters about the show which is a work in progress. (Which did run in FL for 7 months to sold out houses of 450 seats by the way...we were only supposed to run 6 weeks). I agree with you that the show is a mess but that's what out of town means. Re-writes and more re-writes. As a matter of fact, the day that you saw the show we were implementing changes we received that day. I was wondering Bruce if you have anything Constructive to offer, besides my height which has not been an issue before. I so respected the work that you did with Fynsworth Alley...I guess I had hoped for the same in turn.
-
Well, that obviously answers your question BK
-
I'm easy to get hold of Brian. The button that says "Ask Bruce" at the bottom of every page will get you to me. And I'm happy to have any sort of conversation you'd like. I went out of my way to say that I think you're a very talented actor, and you obviously are. My deal is with the show itself, which I tried to be very clear about. I met Mr. Kaye several times in the 60s and I really liked him. And I wanted nothing more than to love the show, which is why I actually spent money to see it. Send me an e - we'll talk!

RE The Equity problem
A. The Equity 99 seat Waiver program is clearly restricted LA County.
B. The Chance theatre is in Orange County.
I suspect the EQUITY would be very loathe to allow an exception to a long standing, clearly defined rule (unless you can uncover some precedent setting exceptions for other theatres in OC (Like the Grove in Garden Grove). The argument probably goes like this: make an exception for Anaheim because it's close to LA. Then make an exception for Chino because it's close to Anaheim Hills; then, Riverside is close to that, and Barstow close to that and the next thing you know you have applications from Las Vegas. I believe the whole waiver concept was a sop to the Hollywood based Motion Picture/TV actors.
They do however break some of their primary rules. Our ICT in Long Beach had a 99 seat program waiver that allowed a 400 seat venue to be curtained off to 99, and then opened up in stages, over quite a few years, before going full Equity. I do know our waiver deal did require us to contract for a certain number of Equity members in each production.
der Brucer
And, yes, I agree the restriction is stupid, stupid, stupid!
-
I know the danger of my talking about what I see and being honest in my feelings, which is what people who frequent this site have come to expect from me. I'm not a critic and these aren't "reviews" just my thoughts - about theater, movies, concerts, whatever. Just one person's opinion. I've seen some of the reviews and they were great for you, and less great for the show. I wish you and the show well, and hope the problems get sorted out. Certainly they're fixable, I think.
-
Thanks Bruce, I will and I sincerely would love to hear your opinions... It's just the blog seemed a bit too harsh to the point of bitchy. You are entitled to your opinions be it positive or negative, and most of the things about the show I am in agreement about by the way. I just want to hear constructive things to make the show better. I thank you for your kind words about my abilities and talent.
-
Oh Dear - someone said the "F" word!
der Brucer
-
e me at bruce@haineshisway.com. And sorry if it came off harsh - I think even I said it sounded harsh right after I wrote it (in the next paragraph).
-
By the way, I truly loved the work you did with Fynsworth Alley. I own nearly every CD they put out. I was heartbroken when they stopped producing.
-
der Brucer, I know it's a long-standing rule. I'm just saying they need to change it. Why not have Waiver theater in Orange County or Chino? That way, if union actors find a theater that does great work that seats 99 or less, they can decide whether it's worth their time to go out there. Otherwise, it's community theater or guest artist contracts, and no forty-nine seat hours can afford to pay an actor on the guest artist contract (close to three hundred a week), when there's four weeks of rehearsal and seven weeks of shows.
-
Yes, for the record, you did say it sounded harsh.
-
By the way, I truly loved the work you did with Fynsworth Alley. I own nearly every CD they put out. I was heartbroken when they stopped producing.
Most of those CDs were produced for Varese Sarabande, and I was able to purchase those masters to bring over. I was heartbroken, too, but for a whole slew of other reasons :)
-
But we've got Kritzerland now - www.kritzerland.com - our new label, which has been going now for two and a half years.
-
Must hit Ye Olde Bed now - I'll look forward to hearing from you, Brian. And hope you come visit here occasionally - our group of regulars here are amazing.
-
Welcome eleven GUESTS. Who ARE you people?
-
Still raining after all these years - or at least drops are plopping on the ground and pretending their rain.
-
And in honor of KayeKid (remind me to tell you the story of trying to get the stage rights to The Court Jester), let us not forget that the chalice from the palace has the pellet with the poison but the flagon with the dragon has the brew that is true. Or does the vessle with the pestle have the pellet with the poison? Get it? Got it. Good.
-
I am my own frenzy.
-
Yay Kritzerland...I thought that leslie opened her own label. Just Kidding. I love the alice ripley and emily skinner cd. just great
-
I have nothing to say.
Just thought I'd say that.

DR JoseSPiano - ***PACKING & ERRAND VIBES*** to you today.
I got some great chuckles out of your audition stories last night! :)

DR Tomovoz - thanks for reporting on the Jackson/Hobbit situation. I had not seen that in the news.

What is this, a monologue?

As a kid, I remember seeing a "classical" concert with Danny Kaye leading the orchestra. I had never laughed so hard!
(http://www.thegoldenyears.org/danny_kaye.jpg)
-
der Brucer, I know it's a long-standing rule. I'm just saying they need to change it. Why not have Waiver theater in Orange County or Chino?
Hell, why not have Waiver theatre USA! Equity is still living in the Dark Ages - you can provide reasonable workers' protections and still allow the marketplace to work out the details. The Equity rules were established when Pasadena was a summer retreat from LA - Riverside was a major days trek; they need to be reenvisioned to support the multi-county megapolis which is the Twenty First Century Southern California, which should extend from Santa Barbara to San Diego and east to Riverside/Palm Springs.

Welcome, DR (Dear Reader) KayeKid.

Yes indeed, I am! :)

My BK ?
At what point did the song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" become a Christmas song? The film it was in Neptune's Daughter I believe had nothing to do with Christmas. (Going by the plot synopsis)
-
Good morning, all! This morning I have a trip to City Center to see my friend Josh, who's the man behind the music at Encores! After that, Toyland for a spell, and after that, our DR Jose. I've been craving pasta in all forms and sauces, so I believe we shall partake of some cuisine Italian tonight.
Beyond that, I have little to report: several gifts to wrap and a conscientious effort to wrap up the holiday angst. I did have a wnderful discussion with my attorney yesterday about my new will so I have a few loose ends to take care of before signing off on the new one.
So, to work.
-
2nd BK ??
How did you come to write the notes for After the Fox and Irma la Douce?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I'm home again today, but hope to go back to work tomorrow.
Welcome new DR KayeKid!
-
DR Tomovoz - thanks for reporting on the Jackson/Hobbit situation. I had not seen that in the news.
I must have missed this - could someone repost it or tell me when it was posted? DH Richard and DS Rob are great LoTR fans and I'd like to share the news with them, whatever it is...

Welcome to DR KAYEKID.

At what point did the song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" become a Christmas song?
About the time "My Favorite Things" did.

My BK ?

DR MichaelShayne, at about the same time other winter songs became "seasonal," like "Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" "Winter Wonderland," "It's a Marshmallow World" and others. None of them have a thing to do with Christmas but a lot to do with Winter Weather. Did you not notice "Baby It's Cold Outside" was part of a recording industry marketing trend?

DR Ginny - lots of little bits on this all over the web. A representative item can be found here (http://people.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1382183.php/Peter_Jacksons_Hobbit_joy).

Thanks, DR Singdaw!

Good morning.
It is Wednesday, December 19, 2007.
All is well in Johnston SC.
-
I had dinner at my Aunt Doris' and Uncle Rock's house last night.
Rock grilled some steaks, baked some potatoes, tossed some salad and produced some bleu cheese dressing.
It was all very delish!
He then held court and regaled us with two hours of non-stop history on the misadventures of his children and how they did not listen to his warnings about their spouses (first spouses) and all the ensuing drama of their separations and divorces.
It was riveting....and the rivets left my brain riddled with holes and pain.
But I survived....
-
My mom and I returned to the homestead and watched the finale of "The Biggest Loser".
-
What shall I do with today?
-
What shall I do with today?
You could always "Live, live, live"!
-
Yesterday, my mom and I walked to the Post Office, and then onto the main street to look in some stores. We then walked the length of the street, crossed the railroad tracks and returned home via some streets I had never walked before.
It was a good walk.
Upon returning to her yard, we began picking up pine cones and stray limbs that had fallen upon the lawn after the rains on Saturday.
It's a hobbit-like life one could have here.
-
You could always "Live, live, live"!
Well, I do partake at the banquet table. Is that the same thing?
-
Welcome to DR KayeKid.
-
It's overcast today. We are expecting rains tomorrow and Friday.
-
I am enjoying my new "duds."
My shirts fit beautifully. The trousers are the best-fitting I've had in some time (for casual clothes, that is), but the problem is that I'm at an "odd" size, rather than the "even" sizes sold in stores. I don't want to get things tailored, so I have to go "up a size" since "down a size" won't fit. After about an hour, the "up a size" seems much larger than "down a size" might have been. But that's life.
I shall have to get to an exact "even" size and stay there, I reckon. Or get used to tightening my belts.
-
Do you know what else is "life"?
Bowel movements.
They are very, very important.
Never underestimate the importance of a good "BM" no matter when it may occur.
-
I went into a rather interesting store yesterday.
The owners sell antiques they've either found elsewhere or are selling "on consignment." Of course, "antiques' is not exactly the appellation for everything in the store.
That said, I found a rather interesting rocking chair -- oak -- that was a bit lower (to the floor) than most rockers and was also a bit wider. I sat in it and fell in love with it. It might have been designed for outside use, but it's quality wood through-and-through.
Originally priced at $350, it was marked down to "$250 or best offer." I considered offering $200 for it, but my mom urged me not to. I thought I might have UPS ship it to me in Oakland.
I'm still thinking about it.
-
Ok, so now I think we have discussed everything on this site.
-
Never underestimate the importance of a good "BM" no matter when it may occur.
I shall remember that and take it to heart, DR Ron Pulliam! :D
-
Is it the time of day, or am I just chatterboxing so much no one wants to interject anything?
-
I shall remember that and take it to heart, DR Ron Pulliam! :D
Heck! You can take THAT to the bank! :D
-
Ok, so now I think we have discussed everything on this site.
Everything? ;)
-
Glad to see DearReaderLaura and DR songflaw jumping right in.
DR DearReaderLaura: I think there may be several other topics we have not broached in this forum, as well. ;)
-
I don't recall discussions on the reproductive process.
-
Heck! You can take THAT to the bank!
CD = Certificate of Doody?
-
I can recall suggestions that folks perform actions that "might" lead to reproduction, but not on the process itself.
:D
-
CD = Certificate of Doody?
Certified by the ASA...American Scatological Associations.
-
We have also not discussed eating disorders.
However, given the food discussions here at HainesHisWay, it's not a subject that seems remotely connected to any of us.
But there may be someone out there needing to talk about it.

I have been trying to post some photos here in the past 24 hours. I took singdaw's "Photobucket" suggestion and opened an account and reduced some photos. But none of my attempts to post an actual image have yet worked.
But...here is my Aunt Doris (l) and my mom at the headstone of their parents in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Drayton SC (in Spartanburg SC area):

You can create your own trailer for Sweeney here (http://www.gorillaspot.com/).
Somehow, I don't think any of us will be putting DR Edisaurus out of a job anytime soon.
-
This shot is in Oakwood Cemetery (adjoins Converse College in Spartanburg). It's a beautiful old cemetery with glorious trees. The headstones are, left, of my maternal grandmother's 3-year-old sister, Annie Lee Brooks, who died in 1918 after a fall from their front porch. She had influenza and had gotten out of bid in the middle of the night, presumably going for water. She fell of the porch and hit her head. The stone on the right is my mother's infant brother's. He lived just under 24 hours back in the early 1920s.

Joan Rivers on the reproductive process:
"Don't tell your kids you had an easy birth or they won't respect you. For years I used to wake up my daughter and say, 'Melissa you ripped me to shreds. Now go back to sleep.'."

Does that mean we've now discussed everything here on HHW?
:)

I was Googling myself yesterday (OK, so I have a little free time on my hands, is that a crime?) when I came across this lovely site devoted to me. Thank you all for your continued support. To review my requirements for being my fan:
1. Unwavering fealty and recognition that I am the world's greatest actress.
2. Unwavering hatred of "Jimmy W." If you have any supporting documentation, you get bonus points, which can be redeemed at a later date for a prize of my choosing.
3. Daily emails/PMs regaling me with how my performances have changed your life for the better. Please include as much detail as possible.
BTW, there's a foolproof way to differentiate me from all those other Seans--I'm the world's greatest actress, the others are hacks.

Welcome to HHW, D[ear]R[eader] SY!!! :)
Hmm...
If the people we talk about here all start showing up as Dear Readers, we'll have a grand old party in no time!! First DR KayeKid, and now DR SY.
So...
How many times per day DO you get mistaken for Sean Bean? And do you consider it a compliment or an insult? ;)

Today is our festive department holiday "event." I shall not be participating in the White Elephant Exchange.
No, I won't. Don't ask me.

I am reticent.
Oh yes, I am reticent.

And since my system is frozen, I'm free - at least for a short time - to post like a bird.
Who's sorry now?

You can never have too many White Elephants.

You can never have too many White Elephants.
Isn't that the national slogan of the Republicans?
-
Lovely photos, DR RLP, and interesting stories. I lost an child uncle to the influenza epidemic of 1918 as well.
And, I say go for the chair. and if it says OBO....make an offer. It might end up costing $250 including the shipping.
-
Isn't that the national slogan of the Republicans?
Why are you asking me? ;)

Why are you asking me? ;)
I was actually asking SY, but she's disappeared. "Don't disappear"! (An obscure reference that probably only JR will get).

Cold and rainy when I got up this morning, but it's cleared away just fine now and is lovely outside. Should be a nice December day.

The World's Greatest Actress?
No further comment from me.
(well, except I disagree heartily).
:o
-
I have that dinner/gift exchange tonight, so the new episode of CSI: NY and the last episode (probably ever) of JOURNEYMAN that's on will have to be recorded.
I believe PROJECT RUNWAY is a rerun tonight.
-
This afternoon, I'll probably watch another HARRY POTTER; it will be THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS (since I've been watching them in reverse order).
If I have more time, I'll likely watch the cartoon version of THE GRINCH on DVD.
-
Looking at those cemetery photos reminds me of the cemetery where my parents are resting. Those old Southern cemeteries look very much alike.

SHIPOOPI!!![/size]
50 years ago today, The Music Man opened on Broadway.
-
Ask BK: well, it's more like "make a suggestion for BK," but now that you're getting into some of my other favorite Brasilian artists, I'll post (re-post in some instances) some others for you to check out:
Dori Caymmi
Ivan Lins
Milton Nascimento
Elis Regina (if you think all Brasilian female vocalists are langorous like Astrud, prepare yourself for Elis)
Joyce
There's a lovely CD out that I had forgotten about but which I put on this morning--"A Brasilian Christmas," which has some lovely Bossa Nova reworkings of Christmas standards.
-
SHIPOOPI, INDEED!!!!
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm currently washing my towels and bed sheets so that when I get back on January 1, 2008, I can come home to clean linens. Or something like that?!?!? -And why do I care?!?! And why do you care?!?!? Or do you?!?! Or don't you?!?!?
-
I'm crazy, you can't call me to testify.
-
It better not turn into one of those days.
-
I know this is a dumb question, but if a show is an acknowledged mess and still being worked on diligently.....why charge $50 a ticket and keep running?
Wouldn't it be more prudent to take the time to make it good...and THEN start selling tickets....and then MORE tickets because the show is GOOD?
-
In other news... Yes, I slept in, but I also realized that there's really only one errand I need to run today, and I can take care of that later this afternoon. In the meantime, I'm going to back my bag...
Remember Jojo: Just because you're going home for almost two weeks, does not mean you have to pack 14 different changes of clothing. You can do laundry down in Virginia.
Then take care of some additional cleaning and tidying up...
Throw out the junk mail. Throw out the junk mail!
Then it's off to meet DR elmore for dinner.
That all seems very doable.
*I'm just glad my mid-day(!) flight tomorrow is out of La Guardia (and not JFK). I won't have to leave here until around 9:00am. No boarding the A Train at 3:45am again for this trip home.
-

I guess they need to see how an audience reponds to the changes implemented. That used to be why previews had reduced priced tickets, but I think those days ar GWTW.
-
I guess I'll head down now, check mail, tidy up some things, and I'm preparing a very light lunch in preparation for a large meal tonight.

To paraphrase a famous quote..
Actors (and technicians and musicians and theatre owners, etc., etc., etc.,) must be paid.
;)

If DR KayeKid doesn't watch his back, Val Kilmer is going to start claiming he IS Danny Kaye.

This is true. And I know Equity (that again) has specific rules about rehearsals and changes once a show opens, so who knows. 8)

Question for Ask BK Day:
What is the status of the stage version of TFNM? Is it still a possibility for the future or has it been put on "hold" or abandoned? With most new musicals based on mediocre or bad movies, I would think that a stage version of the best musical film of the 70s would be a natural.
-
Hmm... It seems we had "Too Many Connection" for a couple of minutes.
What say you?
-
So, now that DR SY has signed on, could DR SK be far behind? ;)

How did you come to write the notes for After the Fox and Irma la Douce?
Lukas Kendall of Film Score Monthly was helping Ryko with the releases and asked me to do the notes for those two.

Question for KayeKid - Since you've been playing Danny Kaye in Kaye's life story, are you finding that when people do stage projects based on projects that Danny Kaye did in the past, they're thinking of you for those roles?
-
Sorry you're not feeling well today, DR Jeanne. Take it easy!
-
Question for KayeKid - Since you've been playing Danny Kaye in Kaye's life story, are you finding that when people do stage projects based on projects that Danny Kaye did in the past, they're thinking of you for those roles?
I think DR KAYEKID plays Stubby Kaye....

And regional revivals of Oh, Kay!

It's on hold only because after the two terrible experiences I had being dicked around by producers who should know better, I got annoyed and just haven't done anything with it. I think 2008 will be a year in which I revisit it.
-
When I logged on this morning I got the too many connections thing, waited five minutes, still got it, and sent the host a note. Shortly thereafter all was well.
-
I always send the host a note - it increases the odds of a repeat invitation.
-
What I meant was, for example: When we did Last Starfighter at a presentation at the New Musicals Festival last summer in Seattle (technically, Issaquah), there was a fellow who'd received great acclaim in Seattle doing a show about the life of Robert Preston; and when it came time to cast locally for the musical for the "Robert Preston" part, we ended up using the very fellow who'd made a recent splash playing Robert Preston. So I'm wondering if KayeKid has had similar side results from being identified with Danny Kaye.
-
Good Afternoon!
Well.. I haven't started packing yet, but I have laid out some of my clothes to be packed, so that's a start.
And, thankfully, I received a reminder from Delta about my flight tomorrow... which leave at 8:55am. -I don't why I kept think I had a arranged for a mid-day departure... Oh, when I fly back to NYC on January I, it's a mid-day flight. I guess that explains that.
Also, when I went to the fridge to take out my cup of yogurt for my breakfast/brunch, I discovered I had none, so I headed up the street to the grocery store, and, now, I have yogurt.
Or something like that.

At least I'm not auditioning today for anything. ;)

Don't worry; he's used to it. 8)
...And as little Mikey sat there in front of the fireplace curled up in a ball, his head between his knees, his tears now co-mingling with the grass stains on his dungarees, he looked up for a last second, and through tear-strewn eyes he watched those last remnants, those last embers of Raggedy Ann and Andy flicker and glow in the fireplace. All the while, that gray, mysterious and magical smoke filled the air, and eventually filtered into his lungs with each sobbing breath he took.

~~~~~FEELING "OVER" THE WEATHER VIBES FOR DR JEANNE~~~~~
Feel better soon, Jeanne.
It "movie rained" here in Manhattan Beach.
-
Question for KayeKid - Since you've been playing Danny Kaye in Kaye's life story, are you finding that when people do stage projects based on projects that Danny Kaye did in the past, they're thinking of you for those roles?
Don't I wish!!! I have never been approached to play any other Danny Kaye Role. I do know that they are supposedly developing a stage version of Hans Christian Andersen. We couldn't get any of the songs because the Loesser estate sold the Grand Rights. They gave us permission to use a snippet of Inchworm. We are very grateful.
-
So sorry to hear that, DR Jeanne.
Thanks, Fred.
I didn't know that there was any other Danny Kaye movie that he did being developed into a stage show. I know people have tried to obtain rights (Bruce apparently) but it's very difficult i have heard
-
Sorry you're not feeling well today, DR Jeanne. Take it easy!
thanks, Ginny, I will! Hope you're on the mend.
I shall shortly be on my way to be Judge BK for some Hollywood High kids, which I'm very much looking forward to. After that, I shall return. Keep the home fries burning until my returning for which I know you'll be yearning.
Hey Ron,
you are in Johnston SC? I am from Columbia SC. Are you from Johnston or just visiting? I am new so you will have to forgive if this is common knowledge.
-
I think we are going to drive over to Aiken SC this afternoon to do a little shopping. I want to go to a Cingular store and have some adjustments made to my cell phone.
I'd love to find a shop that could replace my iPod Shuffle battery, but I doubt such a shop exists in these here parts.
Hey Ron,
you are in Johnston SC? I am from Columbia SC. Are you from Johnston or just visiting? I am new so you will have to forgive if this is common knowledge.
I was born in Rock Hill SC; moved to Johnston SC at age 1; moved to Greenville SC at age 8; and considered Greenville my Home (of record) all through my Navy career (until I retired in 1993. My mom and dad moved back to Johnston in 1992.
So...it's home "away from" home as I live in Oakland CA. I will retire (one again) to here when the time comes.
I have a cousin in Lexington (he's a doctor); a cousin in Whitmire (he's a dentist), and a cousin in Edgefield (she's an RN and manages an HMO). Their mom, my Aunt Doris, lives across the street from my mom, her sister.
:)
I'd planned to deliver some presents today and some other stuff, but it can easily wait. It's amazing how good it feels just to say, "the hell with it" and curl up under my duvet with a book. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I do appreciate them.
After spending many hours last night searching for just the right motel for my first half of the LA vacation I chose....The Burbank Travelodge! LOL! I will be spending those first few days running all over tarnation and back that that it really doesn't matter much where I stay...and it has wireless internet...and I will be in the lap of luxury for when I switch over to the Burbank Marriott, anyhow...so might as well save some money for more important things.
However, I have not ruled out staying someplace in Glendale as it seems to be such an easy drive from there to both Hollywood and the rest of the valley...am I right about that?
As for the Sportsmen's Lodge...maybe I will just take Laurie Mitchell for dinner there while I am in town.
We didn't get home until nearly ten at night, and I didn't get dinner on the table until close to eleven.
Today, I have mailed most of my holiday/season cards...I don't have any actual "Christmas" cards. I sent them to everyone whose addresses I have. I hope they get there in time, but since they're not specifically "Christmas" cards, I think that it's okay if they arrive at their destinations after Christmas...don't you think?
Very nice pictures, Ron!
Customers can purchase postage stamps at the registers at the store.
We've been selling a lot of stamps over the last couple of days.
Some of the customers are very disappointed that we ran out of Christmas-themed stamps.
I'm sure DR Laura will drag her kodak out for that image!
For a couple of years now, I've wondered WEHT Marcus Lovett, an actor friend of mine from the past who was the original understudy to Marius in LES MIZ. I asked Bob Billig who conducted the show on Monday night if he had any idea. Well, today as I walked out of the Chase Bank on 52nd & Seventh Avenue, I ran smack into Marcus! I haven't seen him in at least 10 years, and I'm so happy to know he's okay. We're all caught up and now we're on email. Yay!
I just stopped in to say hello & share some news...
Bryan was offered is first interview with a medical school. Finally!!
Off to do errands before we get snow.
-
Congrats to Bryan!
-
Ron,
I went to Irmo High School and did Community Theater shows in Lexington growing up.
I was born and raised in Lancaster, SC.
-
Yay and hooray for Bryan!!!
What a fun day I've had in the home theater.
I began by rewatching the deleted scenes from UNDERDOG. A reader asked me to give him some specific information about the deleted scenes on the Blu-ray (the DVD only has 3; the Blu-ray has 6) since he has a friend who was in the movie. So, I had to rewatch them to put them back in my memory so I could answer questions.
-
Next, I decided I wanted to rewatch SLEEPING BEAUTY.
It is going to be Disney's first animated classic in HD (coming out in the fall of 2008). There is a full 1080p preview for it on the UNDERDOG Blu-ray.
Honestly, putting in the sDVD of it into the PS3 and having it upconvert the image to 1080p, I could tell little to no difference between the 1080p previews and the upconverted DVD on my set.
As always, I enjoyed the movie enormously.
-
I concluded my afternoon with HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS. Well, I got to within the last 35 minutes of the end. Harry and company have just entered the chamber of secrets when I turned everything off. I'll finish it up later today before I head out tonight for the dinner.
-
Of course, I was watching CHAMBER OF SECRETS in Blu-ray. Looked superb in HD.
-
I stayed home again today. I felt worse, rather than better. I ended up going back to bed and sleeping until 11:30, which I haven't done for years.
Thank you Matt H. for the get well wishes.
In other doctor news, I had stopped taking the anti-inflammatory pills about two or three weeks ago, because I was suffering severe abdominal pain becuase of them. I thought it would get better on it's own, but I was still hurting when I saw the doctor yesterday. He gaave me a new medication (new to me) which he said was an improvement on even Prilosdec or Nexium. It is called Protonix, and I take one a day, one half hour before my first meal of the day. He said that coffee doesn't count as a meal, and in order to make this stuff work requires actual food in your stomach.
I took my first one of these pills yesterday, and I can already feel a big improvement. After several days of healing the doctor said I shlould be able to start taking the aniti-inflammatory along with this medication
Also, I am losing all my range of motion in my left shoulder, so it is back to Dr. Hunk after tbe first of the year.
See how I posted all this info without getting to 10,000 posts. Maybe I should hold off until Christmas Day to hit that mark?
Welcome DR KayeKid!
OK, who'll be the first person to write a lyric about being a Photobucketeer?
Sandy Wilson wrote a musical about it (1953)
It is possible I have the name wrong.
There is I believe a CONTRACT for two movies based on The Hobbit. Peter Jackson is indeed the man. So the "tone" should be Ok. Maybe we had the news here earlier because we are closer to Hobbitland. 2010 and 2011 will be the release dates. The movies will be made simultaneously.
I know have everything in my music collection NOT.
I am need of "Yes Virgina there is a Santa Clause" I have no idea how such things are sent by email, downloaded etc. It's the Jose Ferrer version I am after. (I realise many of you will have the Little Jimmy Osmond one).
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm currently washing my towels and bed sheets so that when I get back on January 1, 2008, I can come home to clean linens. Or something like that?!?!? -And why do I care?!?! And why do you care?!?!? Or do you?!?! Or don't you?!?!?
Jose, I was fascinated to learn from your post last evening that you washed all of your clothes in your hamper. I tried that once, but the water kept leaking out the sides. Besides, I couldn't figure out how to dry the damn stuff after I had washed it.
What exciting news, that we can post comments about celebrities, and they will magically join our merry band. In short order, I expect to see new member status for Barbra Streisand, Susan Surandon, Bernadette Peters, and my own personal favorite - Miss Patti LuPone!!! And isn't there some conductor with his head up his rear, that DR elmore has discussed on occasion? But Mr. Barnum please consider the story of THE MONKEY'S PAW before adding any of your heroes. I just hope it works!
Yes, but he used iTunes to download them to his iPod.
Is there something you want to tell us, Jose department?:
-
OK - I'm off to meet DR elmore for some Eye-talian grub.
Laters...
-
As if I don't mention Frances Farmer enough department: I was stunned, to say the least, to see in the first broadcast episode of Man from U.N.C.L.E. (the second one on this set after what I guess was the pilot) the farmhouse set for Frances' 1958 Studio One appearance "Tongues of Angels." Was Studio One an MGM production?
-
Jose, I was fascinated to learn from your post last evening that you washed all of your clothes in your hamper. I tried that once, but the water kept leaking out the sides. Besides, I couldn't figure out how to dry the damn stuff after I had washed it.
Tom: The difference here, I think, is that DR Jose wasn't "wearing" his hamper when he washed all the clothes he had inside it.
I can just see you sloshing around inside your hamper, trying to agitate some suds...of course it leaked.
You would use the same process to dry your clothes as you would have done had you washed them using some other means.
What has Dr. Hunk prescribed in that medication anyway???
;D
-
Yes, but he used iTunes to download them to his iPod.
??????? Please elaborate. I thought iTunes was a "pay" feature where you could "buy" stuff to download.
I already own the stuff I want to download.
I was very pleased with the finale of "The Biggest Loser" last night. It was gratifying to see the twin men win both big prizes.
I am looking forward to "The Biggest Loser: Couples" which starts January 1.
And I'm also looking forward to "Big Brother" which, I think, also starts in January.
More reality shows will pop up soon because of the strike.
And leave us not forget American Idol will be starting up soon.
And....sometime early next year (February? March?) the next edition of "Survivor" will begin.
This time, only six new players will be introduced. The other six will be from previous shows, including one from the just-completed "Survivor:China". I'm hoping it will be Aaron, but it might also be James.
My mom and I drove over to Aiken SC this afternoon. The traffic was abominable.
We got to the Aiken Mall...and the place seemed deserted. Lots of stores with lots of sales...and lots of cars in the parking lot. But...where were the people?
We hit a few stores, but left after having been there about 40 minutes.
Then we hit Wal-Mart....BIG, BIG store...TONS of people. I found many things I've been wanting/needing to get.
Wal-Mart has ruined the mall industry, it seems. Of course, what goes around MAY come around, eventually.
DR TCB - so sorry to hear about your medical situation
.
Hoping that they - or at least some of the symptoms - are resolved quickly.
And CONGRATULATIONS to DR Jane's DS Bryan!! :D
I have been listening to the new Sweeney soundtrack. [And yes, in this case, is IS a soundtrack! ;) ]. I am undecided. I guess I need more information - I'll need the visuals to go with the vocals to see how I feel about them.
Doesn't staying someplace so atmospheric and having--ahem!--a bit of free time on your hands make you feel like writing a mystery??
Your friend Minette Walters would have a rotting corpse floating on the pond.
Raining here, and a bit warmer. Perhaps some of the solid ice ruts all around will start to dissipate.
DR ronP, I think maybe it is james (that will be on the next survivor). There are spoiler lists with many names. I'll try to post them when i know for sure.
For supper, we're gonna have ham sammiches and tater salad.
And for dee-sert, we're having "chocolate dee-light".
We southerners have simple tastes, at times.
Well, it depends:
Is the ham sliced from a roast at home - + 10 points.
Is the ham fresh sliced from a deli = +5 points
Is the ham a "sliced ham" package from a supermarket = +2 points
Was the ham canned - try peanut butter!
der Brucer
Note: a proper ham sandwich needs both mustard and mayo!
DR TCB....thinking of you and your health concerns!
A question for ASK BK day:
When you are looking at a DVD to rent or buy, or a movie to watch....what is the ONE actor/actress' name that makes you reject even the idea of seeing said DVD?
-
I thought they already made a Hobbit movie.
-
??????? Please elaborate. I thought iTunes was a "pay" feature where you could "buy" stuff to download.
I already own the stuff I want to download.
Ron, you don't need to buy anything from iTunes, but you can, if you want. You can use it just to import your own CDs into/onto your iPod. If you use it only for that, it's totally free.
-
A question for ASK BK day:
Ray Walston...it is the one thing that has kept me from even opening my DVD of SOUTH PACIFIC...even though I know Ken Clark has some scenes sans shirt.
-
I thought they already made a Hobbit movie.
I think that's the Hindu musical "Habib" that you are remembering.
-
I got a very nice e-mail from someone who saw my letter to the editor of FILMFARE magazine (Sort of like India's People magazine). He is evidently the other American reader of the magazine. LOL!
All of Ken Clark's scenes in SOUTH PACIFIC include Mr Walston.
I am watching MR BROOKS with Mr Kevin Costner. It is okay. It is set in Portland Oregon, but was filmed in Louisiana.....so I guess the beautiful home exterior/interiors were NOT filmed in Portland.
And both come off beautifully in the "roadshow version" on DVD #2. It's the first time I ever saw the film in which Walston didn't suck as Billis.
I want "Our Miss Brooks" with Eve Arden on DVD.
During our visit to Greenville SC, we visited several addresses where we lived.
In 1957, we moved from Johnston to Greenville. This house was the one we moved into. My mom says the rent was $60/month. It looks exactly as it did then (save for the enclosed side porch...right side of house). This neighborhood has been declared an historic district (sure...NOW it's historic). Amazingly, it looks virtually the way I remember it from when I was 9 and 10 years old.
I'm finding it quite dark, foreboding and, above all: melancholic.
I, too, want the visuals very much, but there are some truly brilliant moments from the waifish-voiced Helena Bonham-Carter, which thrill me to no end.
Depp is what I expected him to be.
"Not While I'm Around" is tear-inducing, it's so o o o o beautiful.
The orchestra is astounding! Those PSYCHO violins on the Opening Title!
The only trained vocalist is the Beggar Woman, to my surprise.
Oh, DR Ron - I'm listening to my SWEENEY TODD soundtrack on my ITunes; I don't own an IPod, but I love using ITunes for catalogueing my music, and for computer listening.
No...no big tree in front yard. It had a couple of really nice plum trees in back, though!
I hope DR Ron has checked on the Hobbit news.
Oh, yes. I've been reading up on all I could find. I just wish I knew who will be directing it.
I guess Jackson has not ruled himself out of the job.
-
I guess Jackson has not ruled himself out of the job.
Yes, but all I've seen mention that is guaranteed is that he will produce it (them). That's nothing to sneeze at, of course. But he demonstrated such a facility for Tolkien that I don't think picking another director is the best thing for "us".
-
DR JMK - Studio One was a CBS Television Production....as was the later Twilight Zone, and I know TZ was produced on the MGM lot. There don't seem to be any overlapping Art Director credits for Studio/UNCLE - but maybe it was a stock set that they brought out for various television episodes.
UNCLE was an NBC show, but an MGM production.
-
Well, I've transferred all the music from my Shuffle to my traveldrive. But now I see that I must download iTunes (free) in order to use the service.
That will have to wait until I get back to Oakland as I won't download it on my mom's computer.
Oh, well. I can listen to the music (via computer) from my travel drive if I want.
I guess it's time to call it a night, computer-wise. I haven't a clue what's on prime-time, but will soon find out!
G'night.
I share that with DR Vixmom/Vixmum.
It's back to Middle Earth for Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and the boys from New Line. Finally, the years of disputes have ended, and the partners (including co-producer and co-distributor MGM) are gearing up for two new Hobbit movies. EW investigated, talking to the parties behind the negotiations to uncover how everything got resolved, and to get an idea of what viewers can expect of these adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien's original literary masterpiece. Here's the lowdown:
Jackson and his life/creative partner Walsh have always envisioned the big-screen adaptation of The Hobbit as two movies. The first would deal with the 80-year old novel. The second, imagined entirely by Jackson and Walsh, would link the conclusion of The Hobbit to the start of the first Lord of the Rings book, The Fellowship of the Ring. New Line and Jackson will develop the properties over the next year with hopes of entering into pre-production by 2009 for a 2010 and 2011 release. No writers, including Jackson, Walsh, and their longtime partner Philippa Boyens, have been commissioned. (None can be, because of the strike.)
New Line has already decided that both films will be produced at the same time, in similar fashion to how the LOTR trilogy was put together, and no budgets have been assigned the films yet. According to New Line's co-chair Robert Shaye, "You can't budget an idea."
While MGM and New Line want to keep Jackson's involvement in the film as broad as possible, hinting that he may take up both writing and directing responsibilities, Jackson's manager Ken Kamins told Hollywood Insider that Jackson won't be directing the films. "Peter won't be directing because he felt the fans have waited long enough for The Hobbit. It will take the better part of every day of the next four years to write, direct and produce two Hobbit films. Given his current obligations to both The Lovely Bones and Tintin, waiting for Peter, Fran, and Phillippa to write, direct and produce The Hobbit would require the fans wait even longer."
Directors Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth), and Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men) are still the names that come up as alternate possiblities, but no official creative decision has been made.
"There is obviously a small but significant number of directors who could handle two films of this magnitude, but we have no commitment to anybody," Shaye said. "Now that Peter is an integral part of the decision-making process, we all have to see eye-to-eye on any candidate we try to enlist."
Those creative pow-wows are set to begin in early 2008 when New Line plans to sit down with Jackson to hash out critical details. (Jackson will be filming The Lovely Bones through February.)
Neither Jackson’s rep nor New Line will explain how the nasty battle between the two parties got resolved. The fight hit a low point in November 2006 when New Line actually "fired" Jackson from The Hobbit and Jackson took the battle to the LOTR fansite TheOneRing.net, where he posted, “New Line would no longer be requiring our services on The Hobbit.” New Line’s Shaye now calls it, “a misunderstanding that wound up becoming a mini-war.” The two parties began negotiating this June, but it seems MGM’s Harry Sloan served a significant role as a mediator between the two sides.
According to New Line's co-chair Michael Lynne, "Harry served in a mediating function and at a certain sensitive moment he was very helpful." The New Line co-chairs do attest that once Sloan got involved, the studio was already well down the path of negotiating with Jackson. But Jackson's rep Kamins adds, "Harry, acting in the appropriate self-interest for MGM, used the fact that he owned a piece of the rights to be helpful to both sides in this conversation. I really credit Harry greatly."
Shaye and company regret how acrimonious things became with Jackson. (In January, Shaye told Sci-Fi Wire website, "I don't care about Peter Jackson anymore. He thinks we owe him something after we've paid him over a quarter of a billion dollars!";)
"From my side, I just regret that it happened," said Shaye. "It was a total misunderstanding about what anybody had to gain or lose. I'm extremely glad that the bad blood was just a little infection and not
really a disabling malady."
New Line is quick to point out that The Hobbit resolution is in no way a reaction to disappointing domestic box office numbers for their most recent release, The Golden Compass, which they had hoped would launch a new franchise. "Absolutely not," said Lynne. "This has been in the works for a while now. Golden Compass, by the way, overseas, is performing spectacularly. Obviously, we have been disappointed with its performance here, but I think overall it will do quite well."
Regardless of Compass' performance, the studio now has a new, sure-fire hit to get underway. And even though the lawsuits are settled and the fences are mended, there are still numerous hurdles between this announcement and fans sitting in the theater watching Bilbo Baggins help 13 dwarves reclaim their treasure. First, there is the nasty writer's strike that trudges on; and second, the project's visionary writer/director/producer has a lot of other projects on his plate. Surely, though, this triumph deserves a little celebration. Will Jackson be planning a bender back in New Zealand?
According to Kamins, not even close. "I haven't even talked to Peter," he said, laughing. "He just got home from Pennsylvania, (where Lovely Bones is filming) last night."
-
I thought they already made a Hobbit movie.
Oy! They did. It was animated.
I like Ray Walston in both SOUTH PACIFIC and DAMN YANKEES.
I'm not listening to the SWEENEY TODD soundtrack, which arrived today, until after I see the film.
I'm back from a wonderful Italian meal with DR Jose: we shared some wonderful appetizer with Italian sausage and beans, I had lasagna and DR Jose had gnocchi. For dessert we both had a spectacular combo of pear marinated in red wine with a gorgonzola(?) mousse. I am now the happy owner of the Letters of Noel Coward. Thank you, DR Jose!
In other doctor news, He gave me a new medication (new to me) which he said was an improvement on even Prilosdec or Nexium. It is called Protonix, and I take one a day, one half hour before my first meal of the day. He said that coffee doesn't count as a meal, and in order to make this stuff work requires actual food in your stomach.
I took my first one of these pills yesterday, and I can already feel a big improvement. After several days of healing the doctor said I shlould be able to start taking the aniti-inflammatory along with this medication
I could not tolerate Prilosec. I have been taking Protonix several years now. Remember I could not tolerate the anti-inflammatory meds? Be careful. I was never given such detailed directions on the Protonix, interesting.
Jeanne is an expert on enzymes, I take one (an expensive prescription) whenever I eat. It really helps.
I hope Cindy has a fun two weeks.
I finally finished reworking the song that's been driving me crazy for five days. It at least has a shape now, has a couple of funny lines and makes sense for the character singing it. Now I'm listening to a wonderful singer named Pat Thomas, a CD called Moody's Mood, an import from Japan, with charts by Claus Ogerman and Lalo Schifrin. Prior to that, I listened to Claus Ogerman's very short but potent 60s album entitled Latin Rock.
At least her Broadway debut wasn't in a show that opened and closed in two weeks. :)
Der Brucer and I had dinner tonight at a new Chinese restaurant named the Shanghai Buffet and Grill. The food was generally good, some dishes better than others (as can be expected at a buffet), with a wide variety to be sampled. The seating area was spacious and pleasantly relaxing, and the service friendly and efficient.
And all for $9.99 each. (Tell the truth, der B got a discount for being a senior citizen.)
We both feel stuffed now. :D
I don't have a clew as to what to watch this evening.
I got discs 4, 5, & 6 of BROTHERS & SISTERS Season 1 so I'm having a good time tonight! I wish the gay brother would stop whining over the closeted actor's behavior, that's all he does in the birthday episode.
Der Brucer's daughter has requested that we bring the egg nog for Christmas dinner. She even had a specific recipe she wants us to use, such as it is.
Scotch Mary's Egg Nog
1 dozen large fresh eggs
2 cups sugar
1 quart whipping cream
1 quart French brandy
1/2 pint rum
Beat sugar into beaten eggs.
Add brandy and rum a little at a time while beating eggs.
Beat whipping cream but not too much.
Watch out, this is potent.
According to der B, this is a family recipe, from his late wife's side of the clan. And there are omissions.
First, the idea is to blend the sugar and eggs, and then add the liquor. Then, it is supposed to be set aside for a few days (at least) so that it can all "mellow".
Second, the whipping cream is supposed to be added to the mix just prior to serving.
Please note: this is using raw eggs - those with compromised immune systems should be cautious.
Still, it's nice for Magic Mommy to ask us to bring something different to the dinner. It was also nice for her to ask me to come to my face. Previously, she's always shied away from talking to me directly.
Good Evening!
I, too, am back from a wonderful Italian dinner with DR elmore. And, yes, that pear poached in red wine came with a gorgonzola and honey "mousse" - although, I think it was just gorgonzola and honey whipped together, rather than a proper mousse. In any case, the pears, the mousse and the hazelnuts complemented each other perfectly.
And I also received a few Christmas goodies tonight too, as well as a "special DVD". Thank you, DR elmore. -And DR edisaurus! :)
DR Ron Pulliam - Back on December 13, I posted:
DR Ron Pulliam - I'm sorry my timing is off with this post, but better late than never..
As for your iPod - The initial charging of your iPod shuffle does take a bit longer than one would think. If you are charging via your computer's USB slot, it can take a bit longer at times due to the way your computer's power resources are set up. However, just a few hours of charging should be enough to get an initial listen. *I bought an A/C adapter charger in order to get it charged up faster - as well as to free up a USB slot on my laptop.
As for not hearing anything, well.. The Set Up Assistant will pop up if you have iTunes installed on your computer. iPods only work with iTunes. So, if you don't have iTunes set up on your computer, then go to apple.com and download it. Once you have iTunes set up, everything else will fall into place. Right now, any files you may dragged and dropped to your iPod are probably just stored as data files, not music files. You need iTunes to make the music work.
And as for the battery... For shuffles, it just easier to buy a new one. However, I've had an iPod shuffle since the first year they came out - three years already?? - and the battery is still nice and strong.
And back on December 16, I posted:
Ah, then since you don't have iTunes, you can not use you iPod Shuffle then. The iPod/iTunes/Mac/Apple format is proprietary.
I guess I should point out that iTunes can be used solely as a "Music Library". You do not have to take advantage of the online buying features. So, if that is your reason for not using iTunes...
;)
Had a perfectly marvelous (a CABARET reference) dinner and gift exchange tonight. We had organic apples and pears and almonds along with a delicious Vermont cheese for appetizers (along with some vodka/tonics). I was full before we even sat down to eat.
Jrand, I actually can't think of an actress that would keep me from watching a film that I was interested in. Well, other than most of the actresses working today, like the Angelina Jolie types and all those whispering actors.
The dinner was a chicken casserole with assorted side dishes. Ate WAY WAY WAY (which makes me WEIGH more) too much!
I'm not motivated to watch a motion picture this evening, so I'm listening to CDs.
That's a very "classic" recipe. The alcohol helps prohibit the development of "bad stuff" while the eggs. If you want to be really safe, then just "invest" in a carton of pasteurized eggs - and at around $4.00 for a carton, that's an investment. You can use the "sniff test" to see if the mixture has gone bad.
Kanpai!
And got marvelous DVDs and Blu-rays from friends: CHILDREN OF MEN, SHREK THE THIRD, PILLOW TALK (anamorphic), and Blu-rays of 2001, ROOM WITH A VIEW, and TROY-The Director's Cut to name the ones I remember off the top of my head.
-
And I got something you might already have, DR MBarnum, or if not, would surely be interested in seeing. It's a MUSCLE & FITNESS Magazine from around 1983 with about a 10-page spread on the life and career of Steve Reeves. Crammed with pictures, I can't wait to find some time next week and really delve into the article. But I thought about you immediately when my friend Jeff gave it to me, and I even mentioned you by name!
-
I still have nothing to say, but I don't want to leave without posting.
-
And now I just need to decide how much cleaning and organizing I want to do in my room before I leave. I was "hoping" that I would be able to get everything in order, but, after taking a few deep breaths, I also realized that there's really no reason to do all that work. No reason to fret about all that work. So, my compromise as it were, it to do an hour of cleaning and organizing... and then go to bed. :)
-
Yes, but all I've seen mention that is guaranteed is that he will produce it (them). That's nothing to sneeze at, of course. But he demonstrated such a facility for Tolkien that I don't think picking another director is the best thing for "us".
As long as he doesn't decide to change the ending by taking Smaug out of the mix. Or maybe he'll get rid of Bard?..... What would be equivalent to ruining ending The Return of the King without Saruman????
-
And we had cheesecake with hot fudge sauce poured over it for dessert.
I may explode any second from happiness and contentment.
...After dinner, I headed over to Broadway to catch the 1 Train at 79th Street. However, since it was/is my last night in NYC for 2007, I decided to walk down Broadway to Columbus Circle to catch the train from there. Well, once I got down to Columbus Circle, I decided to walk down to Times Square... Then I took the train back from Port Authority. :)
OK... Time for my hour of cleaning...
Laters...
-
And time for my "beauty" rest.
I think that SWEENEY TODD will be the movie for me...on the other hand I am now transferring the film CHICAGO SYNDICATE (1958) from my DVR to DVDr.
My friend Jeff and I are going to the first showing on Christmas day. What a grand holiday movie! ::)
Of course, ALL THAT JAZZ was also released during December, and it did all right.
-
I'm heading downstairs to bed now.
Good night!
-
I also have nothing to say.
-
me either
-
I'll be the Judge of who has nothing to say. I have nothing to say but since when has THAT ever stopped me?
-
I was playing on youtube.com. Too much stuff.
-
I'm listening to the Voice Of The 60s - who is it?
-
No guesses and no posts since ten o'clock. It's the RETURN OF THE WUSSBURGERS!
-
We have GUESTS here with nothing to read.
-
Will we never get to page sixteen?
My friend Margo and I are planning on going to the 11:59 PM showing tomorrow night! :D
I went to Borders today with my 40% off coupon for any one DVD box set and I got "Pee-Wee's Playhouse #1" for my sister (she loves this show ;))! I have to ask my niece if she doesn't already have it, though. :-\ I don't think she does, but you never know.
-
So...I also bought the deluxe longer soundtrack recording to "Sweeney Todd" and the Futurama DVD "Bender's Big Score," which was also on sale. I could've gotten them all for a little less on amazon.com, but I was in a "spend money now" mood. :)
-
Right now, I'm watching tonight's episode of "Journeyman."
-
So... I guess I cleaned for a bit more than an hour. -But at least all my vocal scores and vocal selections are back in alphabetical order. -Although, I'm wondering how I ended up with three copies of the p/v for A Chorus Line (well, I know why I have two, but not three), and I also have two copies each of the vocal selections for Andrew Lippa's Wild Party and Working. Guess I really should look into this e-Bay thing. ;)
-
Now, I think I'm just gonna take a nice nap. A two hour nap. There are a few things I still need to pack, and something is also telling me that I really should get to the airport two hours before my flight leaves this time. I usually prefer getting there and hour before departure, but since it is the holiday travel season, well...
So, until "tomorrow"...
Goodnight.
A question for ASK BK day:
When you are looking at a DVD to rent or buy, or a movie to watch....what is the ONE actor/actress' name that makes you reject even the idea of seeing said DVD?
My answer would be easy - "Hanoi" Jane Fonda!
