Well, you've read the notes, the notes went ping and then pong, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently playing Moo Jong.

Speaking of dissolute:

You know for some folks, lossing 20 lbs is tough, quitting smoking is even tougher. and the most difficult of all is to remember to wear underpants!

OOPS! BRITNEY HITS HOLLYWOOD WITHOUT HER UNDERWEAR WHILE HER DOGS RUN AMOK IN HOTEL

LOS ANGELES —  Britney Spears is proving yet again that she can't help but show off her private parts to the public.

The songstress stepped out of her Cadillac Escalade en route to the B2V Borrelli-Vo Salon in West Hollywood on Tuesday evening, willfully displaying her uncovered crotch to the packs of paparazzi.

"She didn't care at all," a pap on the scene told Pop Tarts. "People were warning her to pull her dress down, but she just ignored them and made her way inside the salon."

Car Cd, some Naxos stuff-finished a Ned Rorem CD(Sympnony #2, cello concerto) and started a Miklos Rosza violin concerto, which the notes say was used in Billy Wilder's PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES.....Last nite, i watched LUST,CAUTION-very good, but in retrospect I'm glad I caught it at home; Some of those scenes, viewed in an actual theater, would seem to call out for a trenchcoat.Sun, I'll watch the Oscars and to cheer myself up, re-watch HOT FUZZ, which I'm the only group that chose it as best Pic.

Friday morning greetings!  My workplace is on a 2-hour delay again this morning, due to road conditions.  We had several inches of snow last night before the freezing rain began.  It's still raining, but the temps should get above freezing later in the morning.  This is no longer amusing.

TOD - CD(car) - continuing with Forbidden Broadway.  My obsession might be fizzling out, because it's all beginning to sound alike.

I'm listening to the end of Russel Davies on BBC 2.

I have some CDs for the work day.

We watched Private Lives last night with Penelope Keith and Alec McCowen, part of the Coward DVD set. We have Present Laughter left to watch. We're coming to the end of the programs!!! I'm going to have Coward withdrawal.

Good morning, all! I now have the funds to ship these 43 cartons! I will spend the weekend finishing up the taping and ship them out on Monday.  I am very excited about this.  I'll try to finish this madness up today so there's no delay calling Fed Ex early on Monday for the pickup.

DR Jose, a movie would be wonderful, but I've got dinner plans this evening with Bruce Pomahac, and I need to finish up these cartons today.  I would certainly be agreeable for a movie over the weekend.

My weekend plans include a first round of cleaning up the band parts and piano/vocal score to "The Brain From Planet X," which is going into the Rodgers & Hammerstein Theatre Library.  My task will be performed in several steps and will take several weeks:
  1.  Cleanup of all note errors in score and parts
  2.  Correction of all lyrics and notes in the piano/vocal score and addition of vocal part writing from the last production
  3.  Making a set of masters of everything for Rodgers & Hammerstein to use for printing
  4.  Return originals to BK

TOD:
DVD:  3 Netflix items sitting here; I've really forgotten what they are since they've been lost in the bedbug shuffle (another forbidden dance)
CD:  mostly live performance things on my iTunes:

MUSIC IN THE AIR, EILEEN, THE NEW MOON, SWEET ADELINE, JUBILEE (New Amsterdam Theare Company)

I mentioned a while back that they were starting to show DAMAGES (Glenn Close) and DEXTER here in Canada (the latter is also being shown on CBS).

I had asked for opinions. So i thought i'd share my feelings after a first viewing of each.

I really loved DAMAGES. I had not heard very much about this show.  But it was like nothing i have ever seen. It seemed more like a 1 hour movie, than a tv show.  Really liked the first show. Hopefully the rest of the shows will continue to impress me.

As for DEXTER, at first I was sort of grossed out by what i was seeing. And i don't think this will ever be my favorite show. But I found that they injected a lot of humour. And since he is only going after bad people, i think it could be quite interesting to see what happened.

Very different concept.  But i definitely think the Glenn Close show is more my taste.

DAMAGES will get more and more convoluted, DR Jennifer, but the payoff is definitely worth it. Glenn Close and Ted Danson do such superb work in the show! I expect them both to earn Emmy nominations.

I have not had a chance yet to read anybody else's thoughts.

But another great show.

I love how they give us clues (kate talking to claire about how she's not good with babies).  I mean we knew that kate was not in jail (since they showed the flashforward with her and jack last season. But how interesting to see her case. I really thought that considering all they'd been through that the charges had just been dropped.

So they are saying there were 8 people rescued. Does that include the oceanic 6 (kate, jack, sayid, hurley) and then ben and baby.

I thought they were gonna tell us who another of the oceanic 6 is (unless the baby is counted as one).

It was so interesting to me when kate and jack were talking about the baby. First i thought it was sawyers. Then i thought that maybe it was jacks but too painful. Then i remember kate saying she wasn't pregnant (with sawyer) and wondering if maybe she couldn't have kids.

As soon as i saw the blonde baby i knew. But i think they wanted us to see blonde and think sawyer. Very good reveal at the end. Enjoyed that very much!

I can't say that i am surprised. the kiss of death on idol at this stage is 1)simon saying you suck and 2) not having been seen before.

If you have both of these then you are usually done.

Interestingly enough if you have #2 but simon praises you a lot (that guy with the long hair that went near the end) then you do stand a chance.

But really you can do badly and yet if you had a lot of promotion you will do okay.

I knew when that rocker chick was up there that she would not go. They showed her a lot!

RE: last night's LOST

SPOILERS

I love how they give us clues (kate talking to claire about how she's not good with babies).  I mean we knew that kate was not in jail (since they showed the flashforward with her and jack last season. But how interesting to see her case. I really thought that considering all they'd been through that the charges had just been dropped.

So they are saying there were 8 people rescued. Does that include the oceanic 6 (kate, jack, sayid, hurley) and then ben and baby.

As soon as i saw the blonde baby i knew. But i think they wanted us to see blonde and think sawyer. Very good reveal at the end. Enjoyed that very much!

On the witness stand, Jack said that 8 people "survived" the crash and that Kate helped them get to the island and took care of them.

The "Oceanic 6" are the survivors who were "rescued."  Right now, we know five of them -- Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Aaron (Claire's child).  When Kate addressed the child as Aaron, the show delivered on the "promised reveal" of the 5th survivor.  As Claire had been pregnant while on the flight, Aaron qualifies as an "Oceanic survivor", IMO.   Ben was not an Oceanic passenger, we saw him in last week's episode, and the promo for this week promised they'd reveal the 5th of the "Oceanic 6" in this week's episode.  As we already knew four of them, it seemed clear to me that Ben wasn't being counted.

What is not known is whether Claire remains on the island with other survivors -- strongly hinted at in several flash-forward  sequences, including last week's comments by Ben to Sayid when he reminded Sayid that he was working for Ben in order "to keep them safe."

That's not a play; just a random Google search.  It think it's an honest to goodness physical therapist!

Oy--I had the day from computer hell yesterday.  My work computer would not allow me to sign on to MSN, which is where I keep all my bookmarks and work-related internet stuff.  We had just installed Norton, so I thought that was the culprit and I uninstalled it.  No effect.  So I gave up and went home and called the Qwest/MSN tech line, where of course I got the ESL tekkie from far off Namibia or something, who told me the problem (which had an error code) was due to my work computer's date being incorrect.  I found that hard to believe, but decided not to argue.  Well I get to work today and lo and behold (and also behold and lo), my date had indeed been changed to sometime in May, 2008.  I have absolutely no clue (or clew) how that happened.  But I changed it back to today and all is well with my internetdom.

So, Happy Birthday, Anniversary, new job, new pet, new spouse to anyone I missed yesterday.  :)

Oh, yeah, "2-hour delay."

The thing that's really irritating about today is that what I'm doing here could just as easily be done at home.  We have no telecommuting option, largely because I think the powers that be think we need constant supervision.  So, how do they justify the fact that there is NO MANAGER in our department today?

I

As for DEXTER, at first I was sort of grossed out by what i was seeing. And i don't think this will ever be my favorite show. But I found that they injected a lot of humour. And since he is only going after bad people, i think it could be quite interesting to see what happened.

Very different concept.

We watched DEXTER on CBS & I'm guessing missed most of what you found gross.  We didn't notice any unevenness in the story line.  We are giving the show one more try even though we weren't overly involved.

DR Edisaurus, is OICEE the Love Kitty?

No, Bailey, the big black and white tux cat is the love cat. He sleeps between us under the covers at night. (He snores, too!)

Ociee is the last stray kitty, and we took her in and had her fixed, thinking we would find a nice home for her once she recovered.

Long story short---she DID find a nice home...with us!

She's named after a children's movie I edited: THE ADVENTURES OF OCIEE NASH.   www. ociee.com  She is very similar to the title character, a real tomboy--just loves to play and copies Bailey. She has become the alpha female even though she is the youngest and smallest.

Aside from what DR Laura wrote, cats can get the loose collar caught in their jaw-not a pleasant thing to do.

Cats have a rather high threshold for pain, or are likely to show it even less than a dog will.  I suggest doing another paw search & look carefully at the pads-pretty much like you do with the dogs.

Is that a nice M on JJ’s forehead I see?  A very classic tabby marking.

A bona fide photo credit?

I am in Fed Ex hell today.  Learning to deal with Ground Shipping, learning to print labels, and still puzzling over it all.  I can ship 43 cartons on Monday, but I can only have a maximum of 25 labels on one ticket. I also have to print all labels on my home printer. So, I printed 25 all the same carton, 17 all the same carton (same as the 25) and 1 for a different carton.  I'm sure it's all screwed up and I'll hear about it later.  The 25 printed fine, the 17 only prnted8 or 9 of it so I had to reado the whole megillah from scratch.  I'm sure the electronic/internet folk at Fed Ex want me dead.  I've also placed 5 or 6 calls to customer service with questions.  Oy!

This will ranks as one of the most miserable weather days this entire winter here. It's still just as gray and cold as it was this morning. The rain has stopped for the last few hours, but it's still very unpleasant to walk around outside. I was SO glad to get my errands done and my lunch out over with. Just walking back and forth to the car in this horrible weather was enough to really depress me.

I wacthed some things on the DVR this afternoon. I began with last night's SUPERNATURAL. It was a very tense NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD kind of story. Enjoyed it, but glad we'll see more of the boys in a few months.

Next, I skimmed through AS THE WORLD TURNS. The identity of the mystery woman in Noah's life was revealed. Oh, lord, I hope they're not going where it looks like they're going.

Luke and Noah were also featured in the (very disturbing) previews for next week.

I finished the afternoon watching COMPANY. It's SO different from the version I did, but I can't say I didn't find it entertaining. The musical material is too strong not to score if you have decent voices, and these singers are more than decent. (Joanne had some definite pitch problems getting into "It's the Little Things You Do Together.") Yes, I'd love a fuller sound, and I missed the karate throws I endured when I played Harry. This actor had it VERY easy. (Of course, I didn't have to play the trumpet. I'd have to be on the clarinet or piano if I were in this production.)

I only got through Marta's first verse of "Another Hundred People," and I probably won't get back to it until tomorrow.

Interesting, DR MattH.  I played Sarah and missed the more realistic staging of that scene, too.

I've done a bit of that this afternoon and suspected as much.  Might look at something earlier in May or even in April.

Any chance that Sunday in the Park with George might be extended past June 1?

From what I've heard, and from what I understand... There is a slim chance it could extend past June 1.  However, it would most likely extend without David Evans and Jenna Russell in the lead roles.

Went shopping today.  We found a toy for JJ, some Chinese soup spoons, and much needed pants for me.  It would be a shame to go to work without those much needed pants.

I formed my opinion because of last week's promise to reveal a 5th member.    Claire was VERY pregnant when that plane crashed, and to my mind, Aaron was most definitely one of the passengers.  But I could be wrong, as well.  I "think" they promised last week to reveal the 5th member...but no one was actually revealed in the episode AS a member of the Oceanic 6.

I've Googled the subject and seen someone's list.  Two people on that list were on last night's show, but only on the island.  I'm content to wait to see for sure.  Ben and Aaron may be, in the writers' minds, survivors NOT reported on, since Aaron wasn't on the manifest of passengers.  It makes me wonder who else left the island but wasn't on the manifest...like Juliet, for instance.  Or Gaby, the French woman and her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend.

JJ is looking fit and happy with his new collar.  I'm pleased you remembered the travel box since I didn't.  More cats are lost while be carried between the car and wherever they are going.  They can be rather wiggly & jump out of arms easily.

Hello friends.

I have not dropped off the face of the earth.. I have manged to drop flat on my face in the car park behind my office.

I look rather as if I was the loser in a bar fight and my right arm and shoulder is quite painful... Sitting at the computer has become agony.

So love and hugs and vibes to you all

Healing vibes to vixmom.  Now you have an excuse for lousy spelling.

From everything I've read today, baby Aaron is considered by those in the know (show insiders) as the fifth member of the Oceanic 6. Now, these folks may just be selling us a bill of goods to keep us guessing or in the dark or misled or whatever, but that's what I've read today.

I began my evening of viewing with Sean Penn's INTO THE WILD. Based on a true, heart-rending story, I really enjoyed it. Sad and at the same time kind of joyful, too. Highly recommended.

And LOST fans will fell right at home with the flashback flashforward techniques used in the screenplay to tell the story.

There was a second disc of special features in the set, but I was surprised that there was so little on there. Two featurettes amounting to about 40 minutes of material combined plus a theatrical trailer. That's it! An entire second disc just for three items.

I found the direction of the film a little too busy. Penn seemed too interested in stuffing the film with all kinds of techniques (split screen, wipes, slow-mo, speed-ups, zooms) that drew attention to themselves. And at one point he lets the leading actor (who gives an outstanding and charismatic performance) jam his face right into the camera grinning which took me right out of the movie. Why on earth would he have kept in that shot?

Next, I finished COMPANY. Yes, I did find "Being Alive" exciting and emotionally involving. I didn't realize that they had added "Marry Me a Little" back into the show.

I ended my evening with the second half of the MONK season finale. As DR Elmore mentioned, it was a good mystery and a nice wrap-up to the season.

And Randy Disher's tribute song had me howling with laughter. He is so clueless!

How about Barbara Beaird?  She co-starred with Kevin Corcoran in "Toby Tyler"...I just won an insert for "Toby Tyler" in an auction.  It was one of my favorite movies as a child.

I have been trying to locate Barbara Beaird for an interview, but no luck...you know she worked in a film with a former HHWer many moons ago.

The next cat, I’m not going to have.

My mom had a silver tabby. It was the sweetest, smartest cat---Pyewacket.

The next cat, I’m not going to have.

And I made the mistake of discovering the Ocicat. Strong, big, confident, friendly to strangers, walks on a leash. If I didn't already have four cats...

I just watched the unreleased Harry Nilsson documentary. I am now deeply sad (he was like the Beatles to me) and am going to bed.

We will have a little extra snuggling with the love cat.
