Well, you've read the notes, the notes were early and had worms, and now it is time for you to post until the early cows come home late.

And did anyone else catch the dates on Jin's headstone?  I'm a bit confused.  Is it a family plot?  There seemed to be two sets of dates.. someone was born in 1974 and someone else was born in 1980.  How old are they on the show?

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Well, I knew beforehand that "Kevin" was going to show up this season, and I was already clued in that he was on the boat, so that wasn't much of a surprise. But the split flashback/forward was a real mindf$%k. I loved how it slowly dawned on you what was going on at the end, a la "The Sixth Sense." And I have to admit, I had a little tear in my eye for the dearly departed, in light of how his character behaved earlier in the episode (I never really cared about him one way or another until last night's show). The Sun eps are among my favorites, because I am totally smitten with Yunjin Kim. Well, last night's opening of Side Show went very, very well!  The only mistake I made was that I didn't switch shoes between two scenes, but since the shoes that I kept wearing were the original shoes for practically the whole show, it was not a problem at all.  Otherwise, we had a great audience, the band was good, the twins and the rest of the cast were all very good.  A great time was had by all. ;D

And Jane asked:

Nice story.  Is that how you also see them?

I'm pretty sure that they don't wear those dresses, unless they're used when I'm not on stage, but they don't look familiar at all.  Otherwise, the wigs are pretty close to how they're styled for the top of the show.  And they change wigs several times throughout the show.  I actually have two different wigs, one for Dolly Dimples and one for the New Year's Eve party scene and then for the top of the show, the ends of both acts, I use my own hair. :)

Laundry tonight after work, then dinner out, don't know where (and while that happens I run the virus scan since it takes about 90 minutes). Don't know what we will watch tonight when we return home. Tomorrow I will go uptown to Lincoln Center and try to get a ticket to South Pacific. I will then return to Midtown and get a ticket for A Catered Affair and then at 2pm I will see the lovely Brian D'Arcy James and Alice Ripley in Next to Normal. I will then have dinner with my friend with whom I saw the show. Anthony will be in dance class. That's the weekend so far.

Good morning, all! I'm off to Toyland, and then a luncheon date.  After that, I will drop off some work for Mr Ron Raines and come home to see what fresh hell awaits.

I watched the TOP CHEF rerun last night and the latest eisode of MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL, whose casting director lady judge reminds me of the unpleasant Fran Lebowitz; whenever I see Ms Lebowitz on LAW & ORDER, I remember what a completely hostile bitch she was as a Drama Book Shop customer.  As a result, the SUPERMODEL judge, whatever her name is, drives me a bit crazy.

I've been enjoying SUPERMODEL: the high-powered combination of vanity, ego, and shallowness is quite fun to watch.  As for TOP CHEF, the jury's still out.  I think they sent home the right person, although after the scene of her being antisocial while everyone's socializing, I suspect that the producers knew they had a dead fish on the line.

I also watched the second of the 3-part BBC adaptation of COLD COMFORT FARM from 1970 or so, with Alastair Sim and Sarah Badel.   I love the premise of the novel: putting a Jane Austen character into the violent and sexual farm country of Thomas Hardy and DH Lawrence to civilize them. The BBC version is much more faithful to Stella Gibbon's comic novel, but I still prefer John Schlesenger's version with Kate Beckinsale, partly because of its wonderful cast and their over-the-top performances and also because it avoids the attempt to transfer to the screen - with peculiar visuals - Miss Gibbon's literary flughts of fancy in which she caricatures bad novelists of the 1930's.

DR FJL, I believe Patrick can get us house seats.

TOD:
DVD:  some Netflix films I keep postponing
CD:  Guy Haines, The Brain From Planet X, The Chocolate Soldier, Bluebeard, Liz Callaway
    VCR:  thos porn is stale!

DVD=nada, work's been busy, so it's supper on the couch, news and L&O and snoozetime; music restricted to car CD,BEN FRANKLIN IN PARIS< PACIFIC 1880,mozart violin concertos, and with all the positive buzz on the Lincoln Center South Pacifi, I listened to Mary and Ezio en route to work this am; I might even use my tax rebate to hit NYC, IF I can get an SP seat and cheap airfare; Also footlights is having a sale, so it looks like I can get a replacement copy of BK's Burt Bacharach anthology, the cd of which somehow disapppeared from the jewel case: I prayed to St Anthony but even he couldnt help me find it, so I'll just be glad there's a chance to buy a new copy as I think it was one one BK'ws best.

I will say this. I did not find a "wow" with 10 minutes to go. They had been promoting that someone on the boat who we would not expect would shock us.  And frankly the person they showed was the most obvious choice. Besides being in the credits, and knowing he would eventually come back, i think many people had been speculating that it would be him.

I will say though that the end "wow" made me cry. They were clever to say that we would find out the "last of the oceanic 6". But they never said last one or last two. When it was revealed that jin's flashforward was really a flashback i cried. They really did some great editing to make it seem like it was the future. So sad. Hopefully he won't die for a while at least.

I am happy that the baby doesn't die. BUt now i think every moment with sun and jin will be emotional. I'm guessing that the preview for next week is not about him (that would be too obvious).

It's funny but i had been trying to figure out in my mind who the person on the boat would be that we would never expect to see again. i know how clever the writers are. So i thought it would be totally shocking. At least it will get more interesting for sayid in the coming weeks. If they can't interact with others on the island at least we might get some interesting story.

POSSIBLE "LOST" SPOILER

This it not part of the spoiler. This is just me babbling, babbling and babbling to disguise my possible spoiler.  My possible spoiler is in the next sentence or two. And, yes, during that last sequence of "Lost" last night, as soon as they started showing the trees, I did start to tear up.  Very emotional.  And thus ends my possible Lost spoiler.  You may now return to your regularly scheduled reading and posting.

okay here is something quite interesting i read this morning.
Did anybody else see the exact date on the tomb at the end? It was the date of the crash (sept 22, 2004). I did not know this. So to me it probably means that as part of the Oceanic 6 deal, (where they have to pretend everyone else is dead) they have to pretend jin is dead. And there is a good chance he is still on the island.

DR JMK - AGAIN POSSIBLE LOST SPOILAGE

First of all, again, this is just drivel that I'm typing to hide my possible spoiler.  I actually think Jin is dead.  However, I'm still wondering about the dates on the gravestone.  I'm tempted to read the other sites about everyone's theories and such, but I think I'll just let the drama and the twists play out in my own mind.  Yes, "Kevin Johnson" was not that much of a shock, but it was still a good twist.  -However, I guess if you've been reading all those other sites, the shock may not have been that shocking to you.  my roomie keeps talking about things he's read on the web, and he's actually wondering if there have been some outright leaks from the Lost production camp.  he's come across some tidbits here and there that have been true spoilers.  oh, and speaking of dead people, so who do you think is/was in the coffin of last season?  was that another one of the six, and maybe they died and/or got killed once they were back from the island a while.  I mean, we're still not really sure just how far forward that scene with jack and kate at the airport was, right?  in any case, i'm enjoying the roller-coaster ride so far this season, and I suspect we have a big drop coming up still. maybe one or two more.  And thus ends my possible spoilers and questions - which don't necessarily need to be answered.  however, dr jmk, i think it would also help to add a few spaces at the end of your spoiler posts so that it leaves some room before the next post.  Like thus:

okay here is something quite interesting i read this morning.

Again, more typing and typing just to hide the possible spoilers - and, frankly, I really do think this is getting out of hand.  in any case, I still think jin is really dead.  As for the date of the crash being on the grave, I bet that was part of whatever deal is in the works, however, I still think he's dead. but who knows, maybe he isn't. with the various twists and turns, it could turn out that everyone is still alive, and who knows, maybe some of the previous episodes had moments of flash forwards and backwards that were well hidden and that we don't know about yet. and since the factor of time travel or at least displacement has been introduced already, maybe people went back and saved themselves in a sense.  again, it's can just be too much to think about it, so I'm just going to let it happen. and that's the end of my possible spoiler hmm i wonder if we should all start posting like proust would wasnt it proust who originall published a remembrance of things past without any punctuation i could be wrong in any case i think thats enough padding for now

I, too, think Jin is dead. Why would Sun be so visibly upset if it was a fake marker and he was alive back on the island. I guess she could be weeping tears of longing instead of grief, but I don't think so, at least not yet.

As for the flashforwards, they are very deceiving. We cannot assume that every time we flash forward we're going to the same moment in the future. Jack at the end of last season was obviously farther into the future than the Jack we have seen in flash forwards this year. So, we don't know the time line for any of these future moments.

The coffin was small enough for me to think that it's Ben in the coffin (and the reason no one is there to mourn him). Again, we saw Ben in a flash forward with Said a few weeks ago, but as Jack's flashforward with the coffin last year was farther in the future, it could be that someone finally caught up to Ben and killed him.

Again, all just speculation, and I should probably just stop guessing and just enjoy what they present each week without wondering how it's all going to fit together two years from now.

Now, if the creators of "Lost" end up ending the series just like "The Wire" just ended - lots of loose ends that were not tied up at all, lots of possibilities, good and bad, still in the air - well...  Can you imagine the outrage? ;)

This is the fascinating thing about us "Lost-ies"--see, I think that the first flash forward from the end of last season was actually BEFORE the others that we've seen.  In other words, Jack was a nut case but has gotten himself back together further down the road.  But of course I could be completely wrong.  :)

I loved the quote on the site Jennifer linked:  "I just want to sit on Juliet's chest and cram sand down her throat.  Is that wrong?"   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Interesting.  As to the contents of that coffin.  Since nobody was there, I'm thinking Michael.  But who knows.  It might even be Locke!

As for the Sun/Jin flash-forward/back.  The "back" was obviously intended to fool us.  No other way around it.  The "forward" does not indicate whether Jin was ever one of the Oceanic 6.  He may have died on the island and been returned to Korea for burial.  If that is the case, I'm thinking Aaron may still be among the Oceanic 6.  The producer has promised we'll know this season...so stay tuned.

That is all.

I have to say that first idea of yours above certainly entered my mind.  I cannot imagine why Jin would stay on the island, away from Sun and child, but there MAY be some compelling reasons the majority of them remain behind.

I was not as "blown away" about this episode as other seemed to be.  I liked it plenty, though.  It was well-paced, but I did get the sense I was being led toward something.

I howled at DR JoseSPiano's post about his roomie's revelations courtesy of some chat room.  What a HOOT.  Folks have vivid imaginations...especially the parallel universe scenario.

The captain of that boat looks interesting.  I've seen him somewhere but cannot place him.

JMK: Re: last season's flash forward when Jack met Kate at the airport.  She said she had to get back to him...do you/does everyone believe now she was referring to Aaron or some "other" him?  I got the sense she had to answer to someone else.

This is now the end of my comments upon the most recent episode of "Lost: Season 4".  Anyone not wishing to read spoilers who makes it this far and is angry I posted anything can go suck an egg because you were warned! Oh, but you WERE!

DS Betsy and I have gone back and forth on that one.  We initially thought (right after that episode aired) that maybe she was referring to Sawyer, but that was before this season and the whole O6 stuff.  After the Aaron episode we talked about it again and thought that perhaps it was a reference to Aaron.  In other words, I haven't a clew.   ;D

Thanks all for the suitcase vibes.  It arrived at 11:20pm last night. We were all sound asleep and the deliveryman hadn't spoken to me to tell me he was coming, so not only did the doorbell wake me out of a sound sleep, it scared the bejesus out of me. But all is well.

For some reason Bryan's luggage tends to be "delayed".  Either they arrive in the early morning with the luggage, or worst call and wake him up to tell him the luggage is on its way.  Then, of course, the luggage doesn't arrive until the afternoon.

Congratulations on a successful opening night!

I'm sure that they knew each other before they came out from New York, so yes, they do act like sisters. :)

And thanks!

Wouldn't it be great if they made an alarm clock where the alarm was Elaine Stritch's voice singing "RISE.....RISE.....RISE.....RISE"?   :)

I can create my own ringtones for my cell phone, which also has an alarm clock on it, for which I can choose which ringtone to use as the "alarm."  I could actually do that!! ;D

LOST SPOILERS

Again, more typing and typing just to hide the possible spoilers - and, frankly, I really do think this is getting out of hand.  in any case, I still think jin is really dead.  As for the date of the crash being on the grave, I bet that was part of whatever deal is in the works, however, I still think he's dead. but who knows, maybe he isn't. with the various twists and turns, it could turn out that everyone is still alive, and who knows, maybe some of the previous episodes had moments of flash forwards and backwards that were well hidden and that we don't know about yet. and since the factor of time travel or at least displacement has been introduced already, maybe people went back and saved themselves in a sense.  again, it's can just be too much to think about it, so I'm just going to let it happen. and that's the end of my possible spoiler hmm i wonder if we should all start posting like proust would wasnt it proust who originall published a remembrance of things past without any punctuation i could be wrong in any case i think thats enough padding for now

re: jin, i think we were supposed to think he was dead after realizing he was in a flashback and not with sun. I don't think most people would know the date of the actual oceanic crash. And i don't know that most people would read the date at the end. So to me we were supposed to be devastated (as i was).

But as for whether he is on the island or whether he died. To me it seems clean that there are still people on the island (who island have to or want to stay there). And that kate/jack et al made up a story that they are all dead. To me this fits with jin. Yes it's possible he died at some point on the island. But to me the fact that they said he died on the date the plane crashed really implies that he is still out there.

And as for DR JMK's comment that he thought that jack and kate (where jack was in trouble at the airport) being before he got himself together. I assumed that scene was after the court stuff. I thought he was together in the beginning and then lost it (hence the court came before the airport).

But it was not possible for jin to go too. I think that we were supposed to think sun was crying for her dead husband. BUt i do think that if she knew she had the baby and that she would never see him again, that she would bawl like that too. I don't know if anyone likes general tso's chicken. Or has tried to make it themselves. But i found a very interesting recipe and tried it last night. and it was very good.

I actually had to change it a tiny bit. I did not have fresh ginger. So i used ground ginger. I also don't really like shallots in my general tso's. So i didn't use that. Plus i did not have the peppers. I think that would help give it flavor (but i wouldn't eat them).

And i didn't deep fry it per se. I just put a bunch of oil in a wok and let each piece get crispy.

I'll post the recipe in a minute i'm just finding it.

Chinese Imperial Palace General Tso's Chicken

Description This tops most Chinese restaurants. I actually refuse to order this anymore, this is highly superior.
Ingredients
At a glance
Course
Poultry
Difficulty
Advanced Cooking
Source
Copykat RecipeMake sauce and refrigerate until needed:
1/2 C. Cornstarch
1/4 C. Water
1 1/2 tsp. minced fresh Garlic
1 1/2 tsp. minced fresh Ginger
3/4 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Soy Sauce
1/4 C. White Vinegar
1/4 C. Sherry (I have used a white wine before as well)
1 can condensed Chicken Broth
Methods/steps
Put everything into a quart jar with a lid and shake it up, then put in the fridge. Just shake it up again when you are ready to use it.

Meat
3 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken, cut into chunks
1/4 C. Soy Sauce
1 egg, beaten
1 C. Cornstarch
2 C. sliced Green Onions
8 small dried Hot Peppers, seeds removed (Get these the produce section in a grocery store)

Mix chicken, soy sauce, and hot peppers. Stir in egg. Add cornstarch, and mix until chicken pieces are coated. (It will look awful at this point.) Deep fry 7 or 8 chicken pieces at a time in a 350 degree oil until chicken pieces are crispy. Drain on paper towels. Repeat until all chicken chunks are fried.

Place a small amount of oil (1 Tbsp.) in wok, and heat to 400 degrees. Add onions, peppers (reusing them at this point..), and stir fry about 30 seconds. Stir sauce mixture, and then add to wok. Cook until thick. If it gets too thick, add water to right consistency. Add chicken to sauce in wok, and cook until all is hot and bubbly.
Serve with fried or steamed rice.

This does not reheat well, so eat in one sitting

I watched SMALLVILLE while I cooked and ate lunch. It featured the return of one of my least favorite characters from the early years of the show's run - Clark's friend Pete. And my estimation of him did not improve with this episode. Thankfully, it was a one-shot deal, and he won't return as a regular character. At least not this season. With the show potentially losing a couple of regulars when it returns next year, who knows who might return in next year's version.

For the remainder of the afternoon, I've been watching all of the supplements on the second disc of the SWEENEY TODD 2-disc set. Very complete set of features with every aspect (except the CGI London) covered. Even a pretty lengthy featurette on how they worked the razor/slashing effects.
Title: Re:THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM
Post by: Matt H. on March 14, 2008, 01:26:24 PM
The most disappointing of the features was the one called "Sondheim's SWEENEY TODD." I was hoping we might get some film clips from the original Broadway production, but there were only a few stills. It's actually one of the shortest of the featurettes on the second disc.

Tonight I'll watch the feature itself. Since the HD-DVD release was canceled, this will be the only DVD version of SWEENEY in release for the foreseeable future. Once Paramount/Dreamworks begins releasing on Blu-ray again, I'm not sure SWEENEY TODD will be among the films first in line for a Blu-ray release.

I'm eager to see how the film translates to standard definition DVD.

This isn't really a LOST spoiler, but just to be on the safe side, don't read it under any circumstances anyway.

I love the show, including all of the twists and turns, but I do find it extremely difficult to believe that the writers will be able to explain everything they've concocted by the end of the series to everybody's satisfaction. Smoke monsters, Hugo's magical lottery numbers (why were they written on the hatch?), Walt's / Hugo's supernatural powers, polar bears, people coming back from the dead, pregnant moms mysteriously dying, Desmond time traveling, people faking the plane's discovery...there's simply wayyyy too much stuff to explain away. I strongly suspect they've written themselves into a corner. What do you think?

And thanks for reminding me about Buzz, TCB's step-son.  I talked to Jeff last night and he said that the last time that he'd heard from Buzz was maybe 3, 4 or 5 years ago (he can't exactly remember how long ago), but he'd gotten an e-mail from Buzz saying that Buzz was either Texas or New Mexico (Jeff couldn't remember exactly, but more than likely Texas...and probably a big city).  Buzz had written a book and asked if Jeff could tell people about it.  Buzz said that he'd written a...and I'm quoting Jeff who was specifically quoting Buzz...a "porn novel."  Not "erotica," not a short story, but a "porn novel."  Jeff said that he would NOT tell people about it and that was the last that he'd heard from Buzz. :-\

TOD's Media Check:

ITunes:
Liza Minnelli in VICTOR/VICTORIA
Judy Kaye in ON THE 20TH CENTURY

CD Players:
HEIRONYMUS MERKIN/MERCY HUMPPE original soundtrack
IL ETAIT UNE FOIS - French soundtrack to - -
ENCHANTED  (the former is every bit as good as the latter, and the song sung at the ball is done by a more polished singer)

DVD PLAYER(s):
ENCHANTED - Promotional disc, which Mum has now watched thrice; myself, twice.
DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL - Indian/British film about football, race relations and southern London.  Quite a good film, with maybe only three songs. . .
CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE - finally watched this Val Lewton production, after reading the current issue of VIDEO WATCHDOG
SOUTH PACIFIC - The Roadshow Version with Richard Barrios' commentary track.
SOUTH PACIFIC - at Carnegie Hall with Reba McIntyre
VIVA LAS VEGAS, while listening to Steve Pond's commentary track.
Both of the commentary tracks I listened to this week were very fulfilling, I really enjoyed Mr. Pond's look at VIVA LAS VEGAS, and all the times he pointed out Teri Garr.

BOOKS:
Finishing Graham Greene's THE COMEDIANS, which the film, surprisingly, adheres to.
Robert Goddard's PLAY TO THE END - a mystery set in the theater world of Joe Orton and Brighton.

I have to share this perfectly wonderful review (http://www.mountainx.com/movies/review/10000_bc) of the movie "10,000 BC" with y'all.  The reviewer's name is Ken Hanke and he was a wonderful wit and appreciation for what he has seen on the screen.

Check it out!

Ken, since he is a friend I don't have to be formal, is one of the greats!  He's been associated with Scarlet Street magazine for a while, too.
If you like what you're reading there, check out his weekly blog as well:

George, with so many people on the wait list for the same book did the library order extras?  How many copies are there?

For that particular title, there are 34 copies and 111 holds (as of right now).  They buy more copies at a ratio of 10 holds per copy, so they're not getting any more copies any time soon.  It used to be 6-1 ratio, but it's costing so much for such a small number of titles (the "Harry Potter"s and things like that), that they upped the ratio to save money.

I'm running my last two loads now, Sherlock's car blanket (an old king size flannel duvet cover) and a load of towels.  These need washing as Sherlock got something disgusting on him during our hike.

Now I know why he ran up the embankment that was too steep for his front joints, something disgusting was waiting for him.;D  I had to climb/crawl up after him, lift up the barbed wire fence for us both to go under, and connect to a different trail for us to walk on.  All this in the rain.

Dogs often like to roll in disgusting stuff, a favorite is raccoon shit.::) :P  He only got it on his chest and neck so I'm not sure it wasn't an accident.

I have this great stuff called Odormute.  It is a powder you mix with warm water.  It cleaned him up nicely and got rid of the stinky
odor.:)

This was the first time I've used it on Sherlock, not bad since I purchased it before we got him.  That reminds me, I need to get Skunk Out, or something like that, before it is skunk season.  I can use the Odormute but I think the stuff just for skunks works better.

Toby and Dylan just came back from shooting a cameo appearance in an independent film.

Coincidentally, the film is directed by a fellow named Paul Haber, of BK's WHAT IF? fame.

Also in the film is Michael Thomas Holmes, whom I believe I may have met very very briefly when Jose took us backstage at ALL ABOUT US in Westport.

How fun!  What did they do, following people around and beg for food, all the while looking sweet and irresistible?

Good news in Oregon for dogs:

We have a new bill which outlaws attending a dogfight, advertising one, possessing dogfighting paraphernalia or offering to sell dogfighting equipment.

The crimes are defined as felonies with penalties of up to five years of in prison, or a fine of $125,000, or both.

I'll have to get the details.  Not sure if it's a short movie, or a feature-length, but it's definitely independent and low-budget.

I'm off to watch something.  I don't know what.  Last night we watched THE JANE AUSTIN BOOK CLUB.  I read the book awhile back and didn't expect Keith to like the movie, or that I would care if he turned it off.  We were both pleasantly surprised to find the movie delightful.  I'm sure much of our pleasure was due to the wonderful cast.

Drink lots of water, everyone! And please send vibes to my DH. He's much better today but the stone is still there, according to the xrays. I think it just left the kidneys and is on its way somewhere else.

At least he has some ogod pain pills!

We were just out looking for a lost dog that our neighborhood association sent a shout out about. It got very stormy so we were trying to find him, since he's an old dog and might be scared of thunder. The president of the neighborhood group saw us and told us to get indoors...there was a tornado warning!

All is calm now.

Apparently, it's a short film, less than 30 minutes.

The scene that was shot with Toby and Dylan is the very end of the film, ostensibly outside a Manhattan theater, with the actors walking and the dogs sashaying away from the camera.

After I got the kitchen floor mopped, I settled in for some good evening entertainment.

I began by watching a favorite episode of THE CLOSER's second season, the one that had Ray Wise coming in to help Brenda through her deposition in Pope's child custody hearing leading to his divorce. The murder plot was good, too, but the Ray Wise scenes (only two of them, sad to say) were just superb.

Next, I put in another favorite gay-themed movie - A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM which I hadn't watched in some time and enjoyed it all over again. The last scene with Chad Allen and Sebastian Spence is so sweet and real. The two actors have a genuine camaraderie and affection with one another that's a real pleasure to see.

And then, SWEENEY TODD. The DVD is very sharp and looks just as it did in the theater, but, of course, because it's just standard definition, tight line structures just don't resolve well, and we get aliasing in wrought iron and the parallel lines on Sweeney's leather coat. Also on the pier in "By the Sea" and Johanna's birdcage. Small but distracting when it pops up. Most of it looks just fine, however.

BUT, if you have a surround sound system in your home, you're going to be THRILLED with the Dolby Digital 5.1 encoding. The orchestrations have been beautifully realized in the available channels, the subwoofer is used as much as it would be in a big action blockbuster, and yet all this sound never overpowers the singing. A truly remarkable soundtrack.

I am thinking that Mimi is the Hot Box Girl who walks in Adelaide's dressing room while Nathan is there and asks about a lost earring. But I could be wrong.

You are most likely right. I spoke to another cast member today who said that the director felt I was too young to play opposite any of the men who auditioned. (I was a good 10-15 years younger than most of the folks at callbacks). She was concerned that I wouldn't accept a dancer role, but I'm just happy to be back in a theater production of any kind. But I have to admit that it was nice to hear that feedback.

There is one bonus featurette on disc 1 of SWEENEY TODD. It's a real making-of documentary (the one on the second disc was fluffy electronic press kit kind of stuff) that runs almost 30 minutes. We see them recording the score, we see them rehearsing on the set, and then filming in small bits.

During this feature, it came out that Helena Bonham-Carter wanted to play it bigger, and Burton wouldn't allow it. He wanted her performance internalized and quiet so she'd be inhibited in the same way Sweeney was. At least now I know who to blame for the only performnace in the film I didn't care for.

Mexico was a lot of fun. Details and photos will follow when I get home. My mom did step in a hole and took a nasty fall. She is a little banged up but nothing sprained or broken that we can tell.  So Vibes would be appreciated.

I will say when she fell there were people coming from every direction to help her. A nice man pulled a stool out of his store and let her sit and get herself together while we cleaned up her scraped hand.  Her knee is sore tonight but I think she's ok

-A table of eight - six men (all gay), and two women (a mother and her daughter, but very 'with it').
-A very cool waitress who managed to come by the table just as one of said something a little "too personal".
-Cocktails beforehand.
-Two bottles of a scrumptious Barbera D'Asti.
-A complimentary bottle of Brachetto.
-And a Tanqueray & Tonic at Vlada (one of NYC's "special interest" establishments)...

Needless to say, it was quite a fun evening... And I wouldn't be surprised if all of us were banned from Becco after tonight.  ;)
