Last year in March we broke every posting record we'd ever had and that total (over 15,000 posts that month) has never been bested. This month we've had our lowest posting month since last November - go know.
The Pam Anderson cookbook?
I would imagine each recipe starts with: "Stand way back from the stove."
how many of you have contacted people who were an influence and told them?
;D Different Pam Anderson.
I could get used to this staying home on Sunday morning thing! :)

When I was in college I wrote to Ned Rorem, Lukas Foss, and Stephen Sondheim. All three were gracious enough to send cordial replies.
And the word of the day is: OBSEQUIOUS!
Very excited to see milliner DR CILLA LIZ's photos of the sophisticated soiree last night.....I guess that would be milliner-photographer CILLA LIZ.
DR GEORGE I loved the photos from your show. Shore is plenty of wigs going on there....bout as many as in a sword and sandal movie....although those Eye-talian gals usually wear two or three at a time!

I can't get it to load on my PC, but apparently Craig Bierko has started a web Talk Show where he bathes celebrity interviewees in a bathtub. Sounds pretty far out!

I'm up, I'm up. Just before I went to bed last night I had an allergy attack. I took a pill, but it really kept me up for most of the evening. I hate when that happens and now I am very tired indeed.

:D
The narrative begins to lag in the latter portion of the second act, as does the career...

On tv for me tonight:
BIG BROTHER, THE BIG GIVE, DEXTER. And tomorrow's MEDIUM is on here today again. I am very anxious to see the end of the 2 parter.
Oh, I'll post some later today. Right now I'm in the process of copying them all to disc for Paul's out of town friends who came from Michigan, NYC, Washington DC, Denver and Kansas City. We're all having brunch at 11:00 AM and I decided to give them each a disc as a momento of the show
...
Welcome home DR Ginny.
...
Good morning!
It's a beautiful day in PA.
I've returned from church; now I'm about to go on a house-cleaning spree! Whee!
;)
*still not 100%, but getting closer every day, health-wise.
From JRand:
DR JANE - after I read a book, I put a pencil circle around Page Number 26, my birthday, that way I know I've read it.....even if it's years later when I pick it up again.

I am sitting here in front of the computer, but I am in horrible pain. I guess my rowing on the lake has finally caught up with my back. Wednesday I was a little sore, Thursday a little more, and by yesterday afternoon I was starting to eat the Vicodin like candy. (That is not really true, I only took two yesterday, but I wanted more.)
This morning I had to take one in order to sit at the computer, but so far, it is barely taking the edge off of the pain. I am supposed to be going to see my dear friend, Betzy, in her one woman show GERTRUDE STEIN X 3 this afternoon.
TCB, I'm sorry your back is so bad. Can you take a pillow with you, for extra support, if you go to the show?
You aren't complaining about your shoulder. Does this mean it isn't bad, or just not worse after rowing?
Oh the shoulder is very bad, too. I figured I would just complain about one thing at a time before people start skipping my posts out of boredom.
DR GEORGE I loved the photos from your show. Shore is plenty of wigs going on there....bout as many as in a sword and sandal movie....although those Eye-talian gals usually wear two or three at a time!
I don't think I could even get into the shower, let alone drive to the theater.
DR Jose, I have added the peanut butter cookie recipe to my on-line file & printed it out for easy reading. Now I need to have an excuse to bake them.
Oohh... Does someone need a sponge bath?

How fast can you get here? ;)

...and can you bring some cookies?

Well...
Once you measure out all the ingredients, the dough comes together in well under 10 minutes. Then since you have to freeze the balls of cookie dough, you can just choose to bake as little or as many as you choose at a time. When I was living in Richmond, there was a time when I would keep a batch or two in the freezer since my roomie was addicted to anything with peanut butter in it. Sometimes we'd bake just two or three of them.
That's my plan, I'm just afraid I will eat them all ;D
Gertrude Stein
Isn't she alive and well and living in Paris? ;)
................. and can you bring some coleslaw?

Have a good day, all!

I'm sure Sherlock would help.
der Brucer
DR Jane - I'll bet your book group would like peanut butter cookies ;)
Thanks Jose, I know exactly what you mean about the green. The funny thing is you actually get used to it
I need to feed Callie and Boo and get back to cleaning. I hate bagless vacuum cleaners. How on earth do you empty it without getting dust and dirt all over the place. Maybe it's just me...
BTW, our dishwasher's broken. ;D : ;)
Is that Betsey or one of the boys? ;D

DR Jose, I've been meaning to ask you if you know who the people are in this new Mohegan Sun commercial they're running with the sort of greaser singer "it's a ery special place" Is that Ms Chenoweth? I don't think so, but . . .
I don't know who those people are in that commercial. However, one of my friends in Richmond actually did one of their earlier ones, and he was cast of out a commercial agency in North Carolina. ???

Wow, that's a great word of the day - Obsequious! Never in the history of words of the day has there been such a perfect choice of word, and I'm amazed by the grace and sophistication with which it was handled.
BK's posting last night about the letter from the Nudie Musical fan makes me wonder how many of you ihave contacted people who were an influence and told them?
-I know, I know... "Pot... This is Kettle."
I don't think I could even get into the shower, let alone drive to the theater.
Uh-Oh! It's Classical Department Sale time again at J&R Music World (http://www.jr.com/JRSectionView.process?Section_Path=/Classical/) - at least in-store it is. Time to stock up on the imports. ;)
Back from Toyland, and a very good trek it was. Now I need to rearrange some furniture for the workmen tomorrow morning.
Thanks TPunk. Did you survive the zombies?

The restaurant, which is basically a hole in the wall, is moving in a week about a mile away in a better location.
Elmore is getting plastered tomorrow morning!
And just how is that different from any other morning?
;D
TCB, I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain.
Maybe Mr. Bierko could at least help if you don't mind baths instead of a shower.
Elmore is getting plastered tomorrow morning!
I have a Dyson...my splurge for surviving the move. I empty it outside, putting it in a bag and closing it up before dumping it into the bag.
....I bet even DR MBARNUM didn't re-arrange his furniture for the Maytag Washer Repair Man.
No, just the bed!
DR TCB and DR td - continued feel better vibes....
I have a question. I'm going to have some time while I'm in NYC to see a couple shows. I am thinking about going to see CURTAINS one more time, just because I really want to. But I'm not sure what else to go to. I'm thinking maybe 2 shows, but it may be more. The first two nights I'll be at the Marriott Downtown, and will probably be doing the NACDL stuff there is a possibility I may be availble to do something Friday night, but that's up in the air. So I'm thinking Sat and Sun which means 2 or three shows max.
So, I'm looking for suggestions.. I'll put it this way. If there was only one show you could see between May 1-5 what would it be?
Hmm... Well, the four I'd pick from would be:
In the Heights
Gypsy
Passing Strange
Sunday in the Park with George
Although, if you can snag a ticket to the Patrick Stewart Macbeth....
Cilla - If you're thinking musicals, I'd suggest IN THE HEIGHTS, among the new musicals. The story is a little preposterous at (rare) times, but what an exciting show.
If you want something Greenwich Villagey and funky, and if you don't mind a show being a real downer as long as it's brilliant, I'd suggest off-Broadway's ADDING MACHINE. Discounts are sure to be had, but I thought it was a slit-your-wrists dramatic musical gem. And it features the excellent Joe Farrell, whom some may remember from TRADING SPACES FAMILY.
Well, RENT is still playing, isn't it?
Paul's green hair, lol. He says it's much better than gray. It's permanent dye.

The field trip to Zombie Prom was a success. For the most part the kids enjoyed the show and the experience- there was some disappointment that I would not buy them unlimited snacks at intermission. A few were very into the show and later said that they had never been to a live show before, so I'm glad I went to the trouble of organizing.
Good for you! I have the cast recording and I really like it. I'd love to see the show, someday. :)
Next, I put in THE LAST STARFIGHTER on HD-DVD. I haven't seen this film since I reviewed it way back in 1984 for the newspaper syndicate that employed me. It was nice revisiting it, and I didn't remember a whole lot about it. Yes, the special effects are cartoonish in the extreme (one of the earliest examples of computer graphics), but it's still a lot of fun.
I had decided to watch COLD CASE "live" and record JOHN ADAMS and THE TUDORS. Of course, no sooner do I get to CBS than I see BIG BROTHER is still on, so obviously a basketball game must have run late. Rats!I hope you still recorded it - one of their better episodes.
