Welcome, everyone.

I was very slow in getting my Anniversary Edition of TFNM, and if you are hesitating....DON'T.

It is so funny - the documentary and the commentary (there is even a commentary on the documentary!) are as entertaining as the movie.

And when John Smithee sits in the big leather chair and starts to pull it over....well that's all, brother!

 ;D

I am thinking of adding "Audience Quotes" to the First Nudie Musical and Naked Space (aka Spaceship aka The Creature Wasn't Nice) web pages on www.brucekimmel.com. So if my fellow DR have any reviews or thoughts about these two movies and would like to for me to quote for them and put them on the website please post and share your thoughts

So since the DVD that we rented flaked out at the end, I need to know:  Does Cindy Williams somehow get roped into playing the starring role in the musical?  And do we ever see her naked?

Yes and no, respectively.

Mine didn't come with one. I'm rather jealous.

It's kind of a good thing. I love her & all but seeing her nekkid has to be some kind of visual no-no. :)

Oh, how amusing it was to discover that my friend Jeff was a dancing dildo.  I'd seen the movie several times, but finally got around to watching the interviews.

Hmm. So I'm the first person to post in this thread in 14 years. I wonder if anyone will see it! If so, here goes:

I'm trying to confirm the names of the M/F couple in the "Turn Gay" song/dance number in the auditions. Am I correct that she is Jane Ralston? And he is...?

Incidentally, a shot of their scene appears on the cover of the July 1976 issue of the (British) "Films and Filming" magazine.

Thanks!

I'm seeing it :)  Yes, Jane Ralston is the girl and Artie (Arthur Shafer) is the boy.  My jaw dropped when I saw the Films and Filming cover when it came out - had no idea and I was just at the Las Palmas newsstand in Hollywood picking up the trades and there it was :)  Come say hi and the regular Daily Discussions board.

Thank you all for being so welcoming!

I'm seeing it :)  Yes, Jane Ralston is the girl and Artie (Arthur Shafer) is the boy.  My jaw dropped when I saw the Films and Filming cover when it came out - had no idea and I was just at the Las Palmas newsstand in Hollywood picking up the trades and there it was :)

Aaaaand now I see that very anecdote on page 252 of My Life in the Slow Lane. Thank you, Mr. Kimmel! (May I call you Mr. Kimmel?) So here's my goal - call it a resolution because of the date - and y'all can roll your eyes at it and/or cheer me on: I collect autographs on magazines. I MUST get Jane Ralston and Artie Shafer to sign their Films and Filming cover. (If this helps prove the level of my sincerity, I was able to get both Brigitte Bardot and Jeanne Moreau to sign their March 1966 cover. Oui, vraiment.) So: I found Jane Ralston's website and her contact information. I see that she lives in Italy, but I won't let that deter me. As for Artie/Arthur Shafer: Does anyone have his email address or text # or mailing address? (I'm not on FB, btw.) I would greatly appreciate any help any of you can offer. In exchange, I promise to keep you posted on my quest!

I can Artie's information for you.  He's on Facebook so it's easy.

Yay! Thanks! Not to be difficult, but to be difficult: I'm not on Facebook. Got any other avenues?

Update for those of you watching this space with bated breath: On March 3rd, I emailed Arthur Shafer and Jane Ralston Pahr. I quickly heard back from Arthur saying he'd be happy to sign my magazine! Unfortunately I haven't heard back from Jane. I used the email address she has listed on janeralstonpahr.com. No idea if it still works. I fully understand if she's not interested, but I'd hate to think the problem is that my email didn't arrive. If anyone has any other ideas for reaching her, I'm all ears.  :)
