Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a long night feel to them, and now it's time for you to post until the long cows come home.

Happy (one hopes!) Election Day, Everyone!!!!!!!

And I vote for - ME.
I'd vote for you...what're you running for? ;)

At work, we're going to have a potato potluck lunch. ;D We started having this because of Dan Quayle. As written in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Quayle):
His most famous blunder occurred when he corrected a student's correct spelling of "potato" to "potatoe" at an elementary school spelling bee in Trenton, New Jersey, on June 15, 1992. According to his memoirs, Quayle was uncomfortable with the version he gave, but did so because he decided to trust what he described as incorrect written materials provided by the school. He informed student William Figueroa that he had misspelled the word "potato", when in fact Figueroa had spelled it correctly. Quayle then had Figueroa add an "e", not only making it incorrect, but once again making himself a target with this misspelling. Quayle was widely lambasted for his apparent inability to spell the word "potato". Figueroa was a guest on Late Night with David Letterman and was asked to lead the pledge of allegiance at the 1992 Democratic National Convention.
Of course, Dan's been out of the picture for a long time, but we kept having the Election Day Potato Potluck.

Do science fiction intergalactic battle films counts as war films? (like Star Wars, Starship Troopers, Last Starfighter, etc.)

I voted. It took about 20 minutes once the polls opened. They open at 6am here in New York. There were people on the line at 5am. I arrived at 5:50am and the line was out the door and down the block. I vote at the YMCA next to Good Stuff Diner where I had a marvelous breakfast with Amy, Larry and Jose back in September.
The wait time can be unpredictable due to an irascible man in charge of the process. I realize he has to depend on some Poll Workers who are, shall we say, less than fully qualified, but his outbursts and recriminations to voters waiting to cast ballots only makes the waiting more unpleasant. But, it wasn't as bad as it had been in years past. They were more organized and less churlish so when the voting began at 6am it was only 20 minutes from then until I pulled my lever (no that's not a euphemism). We vote by machine in New York, no paper ballots here, unless you're using a provisional ballot or there is something odd about your registration. I've voted on the same type of machine since I began voting in New York 28 years ago. We are supposed to get new machines sometime in the near future. When that will happen is anyone's guess.
I then came home and said goodbye to Anthony who is going out to Long Island to vote. Even though he's lived in the city for 7 years he has not yet changed his voter registration so he's off to the Isle of Long to cast his vote. Since I'm seeing Dividing the Estate (a new Horton Foote play) tonight and Road Show (Bounce, Gold, Wise Guys) tomorrow he is staying out yonder until Thursday to take care of a few things.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
Later. The RH calls. Yes, RH is a euphemism or at least an abbreviation.

Yep, I also voted this morning. The polls opened in NJ at 6:00 am and I was there at about 6:30. There was a line out the door but it seemed that people were standing at the wrong places inside. Once I stepped up to the line, they started to reorganize and I was soon inside the building and did not wait long at all before I was in a booth. I quickly made my selections, took a few moments to review and make sure the appropriate "X"s were lit, hit the "Cast Ballot" button and was out of there. All told, it took less than ten minutes.
A guy who I was friends with in high school is running for Congress in my district. He's running as a Republican but against a rather unpopular opponent so it will be interesting to see how that race turns out.

Good morning, all! I was out of bed around 5:45 am and to the polls, which are a half blockaway. by 6:00. The lines were the longest I have ever seen in my 28 years pof voting here, but they moved very quickly, and I was home by 6:29. I then went back to bed for two hours.
Today, I've got MOST HAPPY FELLA work, my walk, a cable tv guy arriving around 2 pm with my new cable box and remote, and then around 5 pm, Jeffrey stock, who wrote the musical TRIUMPH OF LOVE, is coming by to pick up some music.

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I voted... A week or so... Via absentee ballot (since I was not sure what or where my schedule would take me today).
-
However, I've been reading some of my Twitter and Twinkle feeds, and it's been sort of cool reading "from the line" reports about the voting process so far this morning. Some of the "tweets" are kind of inspiring - people helping each other out, telling each other stories, etc. - while some are a little worrisome - "It's already 8:00, and I've been in since since 6:00", "I can't believe my district in the Bronx only has one voting machine", etc.
Again, as I sort of mentioned last night, regardless of who wins tonight and takes Office on January 20, 2009, we all have to remember that today is only the beginning of it all. Only the campaigning and commercials are coming to an end. (Thank God!)
-
And, yes, you get a free 12 oz. drip coffee from Starbucks for saying that you voted. -So, if you happen to have more than one Starbucks in your area... ;)
*And Ben & Jerry's is giving away free scoops/cones between 5:00-8:00 too.
**And, apparently, there's some taco chain in California that is giving away free food today too.
***Oh, and here in NYC and some other places, today you can "Vote & Vax". You can get a flu vaccination while you're waiting in line. How convenient! :)

DR MattH - I've said for a while now that I love my job, but loathe the environment in which I have to do it. That was one of my considerations for retiring, as was the desire NOT to become one of those people we whisper about - "Isn't she ever going to retire?"

I wrote a very difficult e-mail earlier, to my father.
He had written, in reply to an e-mail I sent him yesterday, and told me that he was thinking very seriously about voting for Proposition 8. I had to write back, and explain to him why voting against the proposition was better.
It's so easy to get in the mindset where these things are self-evident. They aren't. We tend to forget that fact. Sometimes they really do need to be explained.
We also tend to forget that we are a nation divided, often split down the middle. And we forget to show those we disagree with respect, instead falling into the pit of callous name-calling. And all sides are guilty of these things.
So I wrote him, very seriously, why I believe he should vote against Proposition 8. And I hope he will listen and take what I've told him with him to the poll, before he pulls that lever.
And I could kick myself in the pants for not having written what I wrote earlier.
-
I will allow those who need to get to work to vote before I head to my voting venue.
Ditto. I have all day to vote, so I will wait until the masses are working before I take Toby down to the polls. I will teach him about voting from a young age.

So, I wondered if there was period of time today the cable guy was going to show and I called Time Warner; I was told my appointment was tomorrow at noon, which is not what the young lady told me on Saturday: today at 2 pm.
The next time to deal with this? Saturday 12-4. Goddam it.
-
Just another reason I loathe and despise Time-Warner. They are a scum-sucking unregulated monoply that provides service at a level below the most muck-filled sewer and if they went out of business tomorrow I, for one, would stand on a rooftop and cheer to the skies.
Just my two cents ;)

How many times on AS THE WORLD TURNS in the past twelve months has some demented woman cried rape after being turned down in her attempts to seduce someone? Is this storyline overused? Ridiculous!

I just voted... for Robert Carlyle.
The vote is being taken at The Doctor Who Forum (http://www.doctorwhoforum.com/index.php), and the question is who should play the Doctor next, since current Doctor David Tennant will be stepping down from the role after the 2009 specials.
Hey, this stuff is serious! A lot hangs on the casting of the role!
Steven Moffat, who will be taking over as exec producer of the show, has stated previously that he'd like to see someone older in the role. Carlyle is 47, ten years older than Tennant.
He's goofy-looking, which works better in the role than suave and sharp. (Even Jon Pertwee was kinda goofy. Peter Davison was too clean in his lines, and never really worked for me.)
He's English. OK, Scottish, still counts, he's from Great Britain.
And (and this is a rule I don't think many people realize exists) his first name is different from that of any other actor who has played the Doctor. Last names can double (there have been two Bakers), but the first name is always different.
If I could have voted twice, I was thinking, maybe, Rhys Ifans, but he might be a little too strange.
;D

Good news.

I hope that they pay David Tennant big bucks to stay on. I think he is the best Doctor of all. The writing for his term season 2 & 3 have been top notch and he has been able to shine especially in the two part story from season 3 where he played the school teacher who didn't remember he was the doctor. Emmy level performance, but he would never have been nominated because of the type of show it is.

I set the DVR to record CSI: MIAMI last night. I don't know why actually since I haven't been watching the show all season, but maybe I just wanted to see if the regulars were the same or who had been added.
David Caruso is as ridiculous as ever with the sunglasses and terse patter. Thecase wasn't too bad actually, and I didn't guess the murderer's identity though I probably should have suspected this person.
-
Then I began watching SUPERNATURAL. I watched four episodes from season 3, all in HD on Blu-ray. They looked very sharp and quite wonderful. The sound is Dolby Digital 5.1, so it's good but not a revelation.
-
As for bonus features, the first three episodes had little behind-the-scenes comments from someone on the crew connected to the episode. They only lasted 2-3 minutes each, but they were a nice little peek behind the cameras.
-
In all my years of voting here in NYC I have never gotten a sticker saying "I Voted"

I should be able to get at least 6 episodes more watched tonight. There are 16 episodes for Season 3, so I should have no trouble finishing with them by tomorrow.

I just wrote a long paragraph about Facebook. When I read it it just seemed "rude" so it has been deleted.
I just can't be bothered with most of the links etc there. I have enough trouble keeping up with emails and HHW. I do check facebook from time to time but am more likely to respond by email.
That said, I have taken the advantage of "chatting" with some people I don't find here these days.
I do appreciate the contacts but I don't know how people find the time. I'm retired and I don't!

DR tomovoz - I just keep several tabs open, that way I'm on facebook while I'm on HHW while I'm at Scarlet Street while reading All That Chat. It's not really a matter of time - ah! a Vincente Minnelli reference! - it's a matter of multi-tasking. ;)
-
I guess fans of GREY'S ANATOMY have read that Brooke Smith who played Dr. Erica Hahn has been released from the show. This Thursday will be her final episode. Haven't read anything about this other than the writers didn't want to write for her character any more.
-
I'm hopping off-line now to write for a bit and then head back down to continue visting with the Winchester boys, Dead and Sam.
WBBL.
-
LOL DR td - it's not the contact or the sites that are the problem (I'm on a few "others") - it's just the add ons! I really can't be bothered even finding out what they mean - let alone how they work!
(Hey I can even chew gum and ride a bicycle at the same time - I'm not sure that Paris could)
-
If you enjoy good voices and pop music - David Hobson's "A Little Closer" is a gem as is Grace Knight's "Willow"

Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn!
So, I wondered if there was period of time today the cable guy was going to show and I called Time Warner; I was told my appointment was tomorrow at noon, which is not what the young lady told me on Saturday: today at 2 pm.
The next time to deal with this? Saturday 12-4. Goddam it.
Well, I guess you found your something new to rant about!

I voted and then enjoyed Starbuck's new Thanksgiving blend.

Caught up with Stephen Poliakoff's "Gideon's Daughter" last night. (It's taken so long to be shown on OZ TV). I doubt there is a better TV writer/director out there.

Just another reason I loathe and despise Time-Warner. They are a scum-sucking unregulated monoply that provides service at a level below the most muck-filled sewer and if they went out of business tomorrow I, for one, would stand on a rooftop and cheer to the skies.
Just my two cents ;)
Don't hold back, Ben...tell us how you really feel.
;D

I filled out my ballot last night and dropped it off this morning. I got an "I Voted" sticker! ;D
Yeah, we got stickers in the last general election but none today. When I asked about them, the poll worker looked at me as if I had just got off the ship from Mars.
I got a sticker on Sunday that says, "I Made a Difference - So Can You - VOTE," and have worn it both yesterday and today.
My sister's boyfriend saw one that said, "I Think I Voted."
-
And Happy Birthday to DR AJameson. :D
-
Good news.
I just got a brief e-mail from Dad. He said I got to him in time, and sent his thanks.
That is good news, Woody. :)

Does it have garlic butter in it?

Darn. My favorite sunglasses just broke.

Buttered coffee. Hmm.

I mailed my ballot in about three or four weeks ago. By then, I figured no one was going to do or say much of anything that would change my mind. Piss me off maybe-- but not change my mnd. :-\

The character's name is Dead?
-
Maybe the character is "Deaden Sam."
-
But that doesn't make sense, either.
-
When we first moved into this neighborhood, one of my neighbors asked if I had met "Bourbon Dick" yet. I wondered what we got into by moving here. I found out later that she said "Berb" (short for Bernice) and "Dick."
-
That was a rather pointless story.

Why would I get a phone call from Limoges, France?

It cracks me up. I think I met Bourbon Dick in high school.

The character's name is Dead?
Yes, TCB....as in "Dead Eye Dick!" They just call him "Dead" for practical reasons.
No, the character's name is "Dean", but he has been dead...and dead he will again be one day.

I see Dead Sam!

I voted by mail last week. I should have stopped at Starbucks.
You still can!
*And if you happen to get one of the new Starbucks Gold cards, you can actually get a free drink of your choice too - and 10% off any other purchase - including merchandise.

I got neither a free sticker nor a free coffee.
Well... How about a free Krispy Kreme donut? Or a free scoop of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream? Or a Chik-fil-A sandwich?.... ;)

DR Tomovoz - I know what you're talking about. Thankfully, Facebook has "Ignore" and "Block Application" buttons which make things a bit easier to deal with.
*And, again, be careful of the Apps you add. You never really know just how much information those Apps pull from your profile - and from your friends' profiles.
*And it also helps to change your E-mail notifications too if you haven't done so already.

Good Evening!
Well, I'm back home, and I'm purposely not watching the news until sometime around 9:00 or 10:00. However...
-
It is a lot nicer today in Montreal.
:D

the poll worker looked at me as if I had just got off the ship from Mars.
Maybe you should re-consider wearing those blue headphones out in public.
;D ;D

After I was done playing auditions today, I decided to walk up to Times Square.... WOW!
ABC was setting up their whole shebang for tonight's "Election Central", and CNN had taken over Father Duffy Square - home of TKTS - for their day-night-long political coverage. CNN was even giving away/providing coffee, hot chocolate, pretzels, popcorn, etc.
I just hung out and walked around for an hour taking it all in. It was a bit overwhelming at times - but in a good way. Regardless of who voted for whom, the sense of Purpose and Democracy was palpable in the midtown air. -Along with the usual smells from the hot dog and "Hot Nuts" carts. ;)
*I think my favorite scene from this afternoon was watching the Naked Cowboy doing his thing on the plaza south of where CNN was set up... And while he was posing with some onlookers/fan, an Elvis impersonator was taking their pictures... While a "Statue of Liberty" was standing next to them. Now, THAT'S AMERICA!

I've been concerned lately about the requests to "donate your status" and get out the vote. Several "friends" have done this. I wondered, "What is this 'donate your status' concept?" I clicked on it to learn more and discovered that when you donate your status, you are opening up your entire Facebook account, including your list of friends, to whoever/whatever/whichever organization is using the information to "get out the vote."
I decided I'd best not make that sort of donation on behalf of the folks I've classified as friends.

On my behalf, I post what I post to be different from the dozens of posts inquiring about health, passing along medical advice, discussing foodstuffs, advising everyone of the movements of my person through the day, etc., etc., etc.
I expect my retirement will be full of that as I drive seniors around Johnston SC to their medical appointments, the pharmacy and the grocery stores.
Sometimes, it feels like I was dropped into a hen house here...and that's before the ladies start posting.

What a day. I gave into my craving and ended up at Langer's for an early lunch. I had their amazing pastrami, cole slaw, and Russian dressing sandwich, and one and a half lattkes, which are the best anywhere. It was faboo. I then went to the mail place and picked up two of the three packages that were supposed to be there. The third, wasn't there - according to UPS it's on a truck for delivery, but since it came from the same place as the package that WAS delivered from Van Nuys, I think we know that's a load of hooey - they'll deliver it tomorrow and won't give a crap. I've talked to UPS twice, and they just promised to have someone call me back with some real info. They have till five to deliver it, but the UPS guy has already been there, and since the second package, which is the one I received, actually arrived after the first, I think we all know it's sitting in Van Nuys and not on a truck. The incompetence of these people never ceases to amaze. Last time they pulled this crap I made them deliver to my house - they got there at nine at night. It was the same exact thing - they said it was on the truck, but then found it sitting on a shelf in Van Nuys.
-
My helper and I got all the packages (and there were a LOT) addressed, and tomorrow we'll do the postage - from there it's all quite simple when the CDs arrive.

My newest Facebook friend cooked us a yummy dinner of roast chicken, stuffing, and chunky applesauce. Now, I'm watching some CNN election coverage, icing my foot, and posting on our laptop.

I got a call today from my 3 year old niece that made me laugh so hard she was asking me why i was laughing.
She called to say, "i think my lola (grandma) went out for halloween." Since she brought her a bag of treats she had gotten.
My sister said that lola had gone to a halloween party and had won the treats.
Now here comes the funny part. Lola won the prize by playing musical chairs.
The reason it is funny is because my niece loves playing musical chairs. And one time lola and her friend came over and they played with us. And they were both hustling to beat the 3 year old. I have never seen anything like it. They were so competitive they both kept taking the chairs and making my niece lose.
So i can imagine lola was just as competitive trying to beat out her friends for the prize! :)
-
Is any other DR experiencing "hiccups" on the board over the past hour or so?

I need to know right now if anyone has had a similar problem with a similar error message that Jose had. Can someone try preview?

VIBES FOR DR JHVW! Chrons is not fun. I hope he gets this under control!!!
-
Those lying sacks of merde at the UPS are beyond belief. This package isn't getting here today - it was never on the truck and I finally got a supervisor on the phone who basically said whoever has been dealing with this out of Van Nuys doesn't know what they're doing or is lying or incompetent. She's on it now and will be calling me back in a few minutes. I'm going to make them drive the package here because I don't trust that they'll be any more competent tomorrow. Then I'll call amazon and get my overnight shipping 3.99 credited back to me - and if the package DOESN'T get to me tonight, they can simply refund the entire cost.

The supervisor called me back as she promised she would - she talked to someone at the Van Nuys office. They're STILL saying the package is out for delivery and they sent a message to the driver to respond - I'm supposed to hear back directly from the woman in Van Nuys but I'm thinking that won't happen. Unfortunately, the nice supervisor had to leave, so I'll be talking to another supervisor if this Van Nuys person doesn't call me back.

Is there some "epidemic" of Crohn's Disease going on right now? I've had four friends affected by it either directly or indirectly over the past few months. The 14-year old nephew of my friend, Andy, was diagnosed with it - and hospitalized for two weeks - right at the beginning of the school year. :-\

Hi guys and thanks for the vibes :) My body doesn't really like me right now I guess. Luckily my hospital trip wasn't for nothing and I see the specialist next week. So I'm biding time. I can't want to get things under control and get back to life. Be able to travel again, etc.

DR Jennifer, we used to play musical chairs at dog training class. I too was on the competitive side. ;D
to my great shame and to the great delight of my family and friends a good friend of mine - for the past 30 + years likes to tell the tale of how when he and I were the last 2 people left in musical chairs and teh music stopped and I was on the wrong side of the chair, I was so competitive that I flipped the chair around so I could sit on it, and he fell on the floor
what is worse is that were were playing for the same team
and we were co-captains
-
;D
-
It was about 32 years ago when it happened
-
This Van Nuys station is beyond repair - they just lie - that's it. First they said their plan was to have the driver on whose truck the package was mistakenly put deliver it by six-thirty to the UPS store. This they were saying at six-ten. I told the supervisor it was a load of hooey, and she put me on hold, talked to Van Nuys some more, and Van Nuys admitted that it was a load of hooey. This supervisor said she wasn't going to let Van Nuys off the phone until they made arrangements to deliver to my house. So, supposedly the driver will be here no later than seven-thirty. If he's not here, then I'm to call back and they will ream the Van Nuys people several new rectal cavities. It's now six-thirty, so I get to play the waiting game for an hour. O joy. Somehow I have the feeling I'll be calling back at seven-thirty, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if I don't have to.
-
So... And I know I've always questioned this during previous elections...
Can a State split its Electoral Votes between the two parties/candidates? Or is it Majority takes all?
-
I'm feeling alot better today, especially with the painkillers they gave me. Now I got my computer back up I'm going to make better use of it and this site. Plus you people are really great :) Now I'm going to go soak myself and get all this sticky stuff off me. Thanks again for all the good vibes :)
-
DR jhvw, may you feel even better tomorrow.

I believe the entire electoral votes go with the majority of each state.

That always seems wrong to me even though I understand the reasoning.
-
That always seems wrong to me even though I understand the reasoning.
If you won electoral votes based on the percentage of votes you received, we might as well dump the electoral college (ahem! And why DON'Twe?) and go with majority.
-
And the still the returns come in.
BUT I have not been watching them. No, I have been watching a Bollywood extravaganza entitled DISCO DANCER.
You might think it is about a disco dancer.....but it is mostly about a young man whose mother is accused of stealing a guitar - she goes to prison....the town treats them as pariahs. The man who made the false accusation has a son and a daughter. His son Sam is the premiere Disco Dancer of India.
Well when the young man grows up to become the famous Jimmy - his disco dancing steals Sammy's thunder. Jimmy also falls in love with Sammy's sister.
Jimmy is also a master of the martial arts. The villain tries to kill Jimmy first by having him beaten up....then by putting 5000 volts of electricity through his guitar (Jimmy's mother discovers the plot and grabs the guitar in time....and dies). Jimmy gets guitar-phobia. He is beaten again and his legs broken on the eve of the International Disco Contest....
His girlfriend and his uncle help him overcome his guitar phobia and broken legs....and even with stiff competition from the Disco King and Queen of Africa and the Disco King and Queen of Paris, Jimmy prevails.....but then his uncle takes a bullet for him....and Jimmy goes off the deep end.
The villain is killed after Jimmy drives his BIG American station wagon into the lobby of the hotel where a celebration is going on.....the villain is carrying a welding torch and it gets stuck in an electrical box, and so he is electrocuted....just like Jimmy's mother was....
Anyway....then Jimmy sings the title song....for the third time....and the movie ends.
I highly recommend this movie. ****!

I believe the entire electoral votes go with the majority of each state.
This is correct, the candidates each have representatives totaling the number of electoral votes - whichever candidate wins - it is THOSE candidates that are sent to the college.
-
Vibes for DR JHVW.
DR JOSE - I vote for the glass of wine picture becoming your new avatar.
OK - That's One (1) vote for the Wine Avatar.
I guess we'll have to wait until the polls close for the final results.
;)
It should be called on CNN any minute.

I guess I was making an attempt to apologise for the "ignore" buttons I've used so often. I don't add anything else!
Thanks DR/DF Jose. I'd vote for the Freddo Frogs!

OOOHH!!!!!!!!! I get it now!
Thank You, DR JRand!
*And I even took AP(!) Government and Social Studies in high school!

That always seems wrong to me even though I understand the reasoning.
If you won electoral votes based on the percentage of votes you received, we might as well dump the electoral college (ahem! And why DON'Twe?) and go with majority.
Exactly! :D

It's a must DR JOSE.....and if you learn those steps....there are only four of them....you will be a star at SPLASH......
-
This is my favorite song from the movie....if you have patience.....Jimmy won't dance at the International Competition, so his girlfriend Geata tries to encourage him....

Prayers and vibes for DR jhvw.

Against all reason, I will now choose another Bollywood movie to enjoy.

I like the ice cream photo, DR Jose.
-
DR FJL - Instead of Ice Cream, how about:
Or a gluten-free breadstick?
:o This is practically obscene!
It get my vote. ;)

Eight minutes left to seven-thirty. Gee, think UPS will be here by then?
-
It's time for me to leave work and go to my sister's for the election night coverage.
Until later!
-
Five minutes.
-
Hand is poised to call UPS.
-
And I now have the local number, too.
-
I had problems a couple of times with FedEx and was very vocal about it with them. They cared not one whit. Not one.
-
So... And I know I've always questioned this during previous elections...
Can a State split its Electoral Votes between the two parties/candidates? Or is it Majority takes all?
Most it's winner take all. I know Nebraska is one of the few that splits. Not sure if there are others

Their split is by congressional district not any percentage of the popular vote.

Health vibes for jhvw.

I have it on very good authority that the next DDD sale will start Saturday and will be 25% off for the first time ever!
-
No package will be coming tonight. The lies continued - they are now saying they didn't promise the earlier supervisor. The package will be delivered tomorrow to the mail place. The supervisor I just spoke to said she'd call me at eight to let me know it was on the proper truck and an ETA for delivery. She's also going to have the head of the Van Nuys office call me so that I can issue a proper complaint against the two people who repeatedly lied to the supervisors (and to me) today. I shall now call amazon, who should have been dealing with this, and get my money back for the whole deal.

And in other news:
The Revolution Is Silenced: Tale of Two Cities Will Close Nov. 16 (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/123033.html)
Wow! That was fast! My poor friend Rob Richardson. He's been involved with this project FOR YEARS, and now it's ending so quickly.
-
Congrats to Barak Obama and Joe Biden.
-
I have very little to report about my evening viewing. Why? Because I spent the entire evening watching SUPERNATURAL episodes. Season 3 was a sensational season, and it's very addictive watching these shows. Really loved "Dream a Little Dream" which is a kind of DREAMSCAPE story. There was very creative use of color for the various dreams in the show, and in HD, it's just eye-popping.

Wow! I guess I'll be broker than usual for the rest of the month.
-
I also liked the episode "Mystery Spot" even more. A kind of riff on GROUNDHOG DAY but with a real pertinance to what's going on in the series between the two brothers.
-
I got about halfway through episode 12 before turning everything off and coming upstairs. That will leave me with the rest of that episode and then four more for tomorrow. Should be able to handle that easily since I have no plans at all for tomorrow.

Have the polls closed in Hawaii yet? It is 6:24 p.m. there.
-
They haven't closed in Alaska either
-
Apparently, Mr. Obama is our new President. Mr. McCain has conceded. I have also conceded and shall only be President of haineshisway.com.
-
In local news, although not all precincts are reporting yet, it looks like Sheriff Joe wins again, and Arizona passes an amendment to ban gay marriage.

Wow, what a night...a new to-be president....a new fan of the classic film DISCO DANCER....and DR Jose puts a lot into his mouth!

So far with ten percent reporting, it looks like Proposition 8 is getting way too many "yea" votes. I hope it turns around, but it's not looking good, and I hope the people who were behind the deceitful and disgusting campaign get the karma they're so going to deserve.
-
From a primer at CNN.com about the Electoral College
Generally speaking, a candidate who has the most popular votes in a state also receives all of its electoral votes. Two states, however, can split their electoral college. Maine and Nebraska apportion their votes between congressional district and two at-large votes. Yet neither state has ever split its electoral vote.

I'm wondering if this is similar to the letter that DR SWW wrote to his father...
The America we should be: vote no on Proposition 8 (http://themolly.com/blog/?p=91)

What do you mean by, "ONLY" HHW? Why, that is everything.

For some reason, my computer just turned itself off! Three times! The first time it happened, I had just logged into HHW, using the Flock browser and the power just turned off...no warning, no nothing. I couldn't turn my computer back on with the power button. I had to turn off the power strip, wait a few seconds, then turn on the power strip before the computer would turn back on. Anyway, I used Internet Explorer the second and third times and it seems to be running now. Hopefully my computer will not just shut down again without me specifically shutting it off ...hopefully.
-
So far, so good.
-
Well... I'm soooo glad I don't have to work in the morning... ;)
Goodnight.
-
Finished watching two count them two motion pictures on DVD. All that palaver with UPS has left me very tired.
-
Well, it's after midnight and I need to sleep. I didn't sleep well the last two nights (time change, and all) so I should get to sleep earlier than normal, which is really normal in the old time. ;)
-
Well...maybe we can get to Page 12.
-
It's only another three, count 'em, THREE posts (after this one). :)
-
Gratuitous Post #298. ::)
-
And since we're (finally) so close...
-
PAGE 12 DANCE!!
-
Well...BK has started the new day without locking today. :)
-
I still need to go to bed, though.
