Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a Bacharach vibe, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently waiting for trains and boats and planes to bring them home. See what I mean? I've got Bacharach on the brain.

Wednesday morning greetings! It's the first day of my 6-day Thanksgiving weekend and I woke up at exactly the time I usually get up to go to work. Wonder how long it will take me to get over that after I retire?
My agenda today includes baking pumpkin pies, cleaning up the house, and getting the tables ready for tomorrow.

Good Morning!
Greetings from the Acela's Quiet Car... Which is not so quiet this morning. :-\
-
In any case...
I ended up not sleeping. Nor did I get as much organizing and decluttering as I would have liked to get done. And, yes, no, I did not find my keys either. But that's OK. There's always next week. ;)
-
However... I did find my checkbook. I did complete and email my invoices for the past two weeks. And I also read today's NYTimes online during the overnight hours. :)
-
Greetings on my first full day of vacation.
I'm heading out to Long Island later this morning (around 11am) and we will be there until Sunday afternoon, eating, seeing friends and relaxing.
I just got up so that must mean I'm really on vacation because it's a Wednesday and I would usually be up by 5:30-5:45. Hooray, it works! Vacation, that is.
-
Hmm... There may be a revolt brewing in the Quiet Car... In Engish and Italiano!
-
Good Morning, Ben!
-
So... I just got out of my seat - I had to throw out some trash anyway - and on the way to the trash receptacles, I took down two of the overhead "Quiet Car" signs. I then placed one on the table between the two businessmen who have been talking non-stop since we left Penn Station, and I placed the other one on the table in front of the three Italian tourists who have also been talking non-stop too... And on their cellphones too.
And now... Quiet. :)
-
I've done that before, so... And I was starting to get amused at my fellow passengers who kept wanting to do something, to say something but weren't.
-
Hmm... There may be a revolt brewing in the Quiet Car...
That's a revolting development!
-
I hate it when that happens...
-
Now I'm just wondering if my actions were a result of the concern for the common good of my fellow passengers, or my lack of sleep. ;)
-
DR JoseSPiano, I tried that trick once with French tourists and a "No Smoking" sign on a train in Spain. [ the train in Spain stays mainly in the plain... ]
In any case, not only did the French tourists suddenly feign a lack of knowledge of English, they also suddenly did not recognize the universal symbol for "Do Not Smoke"... :-\
-
Well... I'm wondering if Amtrak has signage in Italian? Or if I should just yell out, "Basta!"
;)
-
Glad your efforts were more successful.
-
Aww... The woman across the aisle from me just thanked me. :)
-
Well... At least I'm awake...

I was pretty surprised when they announced brooke as the winner (very happy). Dialidol had warren clearly as #1 and i don't think they've ever been wrong when they clearly stated a person was #1 (sometimes they are not positive and they say so). I thought the show overall was pretty bad. So much filler. I wish they had shown the free style dances again. I wasn't thrilled with getting to see prior dances again. Luckily i just fast forwarded through much of it.

Come ye thankful people come,
Raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in,
Ere the winter storms begin;
God our Maker, doth provide
For our wants to be supplied:
Come to God's own temple, come,
Raise the song of harvest home.
All the world is God's own field
Fruit unto his praise to yield;
Wheat and tares together sown
Unto joy or sorrow grown;
First the blade, and then the ear,
Then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of the harvest! grant that we
Wholesome grain and pure may be.
For the Lord our God shall come,
And shall take his harvest home;
From his field shall in that day
All offenses purge away,
Give his angels charge at last
In the fire the tares to cast;
But the fruitful ears to store
In his garner evermore.
Even so, Lord, quickly come,
Bring thy final harvest home;
Gather thou thy people in,
Free from sorrow, free from sin,
There, forever purified,
in thy presence to abide;
Come, with all thine angels, come,
Raise the glorious harvest home

In other news...
After de-training from the Not-So-Quiet Car, I headed into Union Station in order to head to the Metro (subway). During my walk from the train gates to the entrance to the Metro, I managed to help a blind man find a phone booth and make a phone call, directed two tourists to the closest Metro stop to the Vietnam War Memorial, and advised a young woman to take a cab to the airport instead of the Metro since she needed to be there in 20 minutes. *AND she was flying Air Canada, and was told by Air Canada that she only needed to be at the airport an hour before her departure... Even though she still had to check luggage... And on one of the busiest travel days of the year. ?!?!?!? I hope she made it.

Hello, everyone.
I have been going non-stop since Saturday afternoon when I received a call from my real estate agent, saying that a couple drove by my house, saw the COMING SOON sign, and wanted to see the house. They saw it, they want it, and they made an offer. However, there are many details to be worked out. They appear to be first-time buyers and rather green about how things are conducted. They also want to take possession quickly--ugh! In any case, that is now my #1 priority.
I have not had time to read the posts, so I haven't a clue what's going on here at HHW. I will wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and a fine long weekend. I shall spend much of it organizing important papers, packing, tossing, and taking care of the many things that must be done before I can move.
I'll try to catch up on HHW when I can.
Toodles!

It's amazing how quickly a good day can turn to crap: the laundry's down the street and the damned elevator in my building is dead, which happened within the last 40 minutes. I got to the apartment and had to carry up my shopping and two large cartons the postal worker had dropped off, then I had to walk back up three flights for the hangers I forgot to tote down with me for the laundry. Then I get to the laundry and some rude ass half my age and twice my size figures if he reads a newspaper on an empty sorting table it's his while his clothng dries, so as I'm taking laundry out of the dryer next to him and putting it on hangers, he starts pulling clothes out of his dryer and laying them all over the table so I can't use any of it. Fuck him.
Now I have to walk back down, pick up the rest of the clothing, lug it back her, walk up three flights with it and wait for the UPS delivery and do the whole megillah again.

I've shaved, attended to a lot of e-mails, will shower in about fifteen minutes and then be on my way to a production meeting. After that, I'll come back here for a few minutes, then head over to Joe Allen to meet Jessica Rush. I will NOT be having a Caesar salad, and I doubt I'll have the shrimp cocktail. Hence, I have no clew what I'll have - maybe a burger with some slaw instead of fries. Or, maybe I'll just have a steak or meat loaf or grilled chicken.

I love the new Herrmann CHRISTMAS CAROL / CHILD IS BORN CD.
-
Elmore, you are getting a lot of exercise today.
Yes, indeedy! The thought of lugging 4-5 cartons weighing about 20-30 lbs up three flights has curtailed my trek to the storage space today, and that bums me out.
-
The pumpkin pies are bee-yoo-tee-ful - and they smell good, too!
Relatives are gathering - my cousin and his wife from Georgia are at my aunt's, my sister and her husband are on their way to my mom's from Michigan, my niece will soon be on her way from Illinois, and nephew from Michigan will arrive in time for dinner tomorrow.
Not only are we celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, but it's also my mother's 90th birthday.
Ginny, happy pre-Birthday greetings to your mother!
-
I am at home and not at work today. I called in to my boss with a severe case of Mental Meltdown.
-
DR Ginny - what a wonderful occasion. I'm sure it will be a memorable celebration. :)
Yes, DR Singdaw, we're all glad Mom's birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day this year. Otherwise, she wouldn't have let us have a big party just for her birthday.

Well, this time I can't blame it on the current administration's "war on terror" stirring things up to scare the populace. Or can I?
Probably not - there is nothing to be gained by scaring the folks at this point.
The people now most afraid are the radical-lefties who are in a state of shock by how far toward the center the President Elect has moved. Poor Sean Hannity is sputtering about how Obama has betrayed the voters by attempting to establish a pragmatic, centrist administation manned by experienced professionals.
der Brucer
And, yes, that is a compliment for the incoming administration.
-
We have early dismissal today. And since I did not take a lunch, my early dismissal begins NOW!
Catch y'all later!
-
I am at home and not at work today. I called in to my boss with a severe case of Mental Meltdown.
Considering the stress you've been under, you needed today - feel better!
-
I've shaved, attended to a lot of e-mails, will shower in about fifteen minutes and then be on my way to a production meeting. Or, maybe I'll just have a steak or meat loaf or grilled chicken.
bk - Just meet Jessica Rush as Joe Allen, and then head a few doors down to either Bourbon Street, Joshua Tree, Becco, House of Brews... Heck, you're right on Restaurant Row. Or even try The Ritz. ;)
-
TCB, how is Stan? Any news? I hope your mental health day helps. I know how much stress you've been under. Ginny is right, you deserve a day off.
-
I actually didn't go see Stan yesterday (and yes, I feel guilty). I had a meeting I had to go to, and then I went home. Tuesday was just a little too depressing. Apparently there is no improvement to report. The hospital called me today, because they had Mark's phone number wrong. I asked if there was anything wrong, but, of course, I am a total non-entity to the hospital. She did tell me that this was not an emergency, but rather a call because they want to set up a meeting with Mark as to where we go from here.
Won't they be surprised. I will be at their damn meeting, too.
-
Ann, I am sure that the getting up early issue, will probably be the least of your worries come Monday
-
I'm showered and coifed and ready for my meeting in thirty minutes. It's actually pretty close by to the hotel.
-
I shall now be on my way to a meeting, then to sup.

Hmmm, I have SHREK tix for Dec. 3.

For the Dec. 2 HHW mini-get-together, how would people ffel about going to John's Pizzeria on 44th between 7th and 8th? It's very reasonable cost-wise for anyone on a budget.

How is the pizza? Silly question in NY.

Or should we meet somewhere outside of the theater district where it would be less crowded?
Any thoughts?

Let's all meet....oh, wait. :-\

I was thinking of you actually, George. But I couldn't think how to get ahold of you quickly enough, and honestly we were both so punch-drunk with the new baby in the NICU thing that it just flew by us before we realized.
We also had Manhattan Transfer/Al Jarreau tickets for that next Thursday at the Puyallup Fair that went unused. We actually managed to contact a few people for those, but no one had that evening free.
It was sad, I hate wasting good tickets.

I'm just back from my meeting, and the guy who's going to be our SM just saw Shrek and said it was truly terrible - in other words, Shrek is dreck. Why didn't they fix this show after Seattle? And one day of rehearsals is going to fix it?
-
John's Pizza is great by me - convenient and good food and inexpensive. Let's DO it.
-
Should I see Shrek this evening? Billy Elliot? In The Heights? Gypsy?
-
Or should I just come home and relax. If I see a show I won't get back here until eleven.
-
I am horrified at today's attacks in Mumbai. Both of those hotels (the Taj Mahal and the Oberei) were ones I was just checking out the websites of yesterday for my future trip there. :'(
-
Did I ever tell you people that I saw Bernadette Peters when Jed and I were in New York this summer? We were walking back to the hotel after seeing A Catered Affair and she was coming towards us on the sidewalk with a handsome man on her arm. It took me until they were almost past us before it sunk in who I was staring at. I wasn't able to alert Jed until she had passed, but he did glimpse the unmistakable hair as she walked away.
I hadn't realized how short she really is :)

An early Christmas present for MattH:
TVGUIDE (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Mega-Whisperer-Battlestar-1000230.aspx)
Is it true that Moonlight is going to run on the Sci Fi Channel? OMG, that would be wonderful! Tawny
MICKEY: Yes! We finally have some Alex O'Loughlin-related news for you, Tawny! Starting Jan. 23, Sci Fi will rerun the cancelled vampire drama on Fridays at 9 pm/ET (following repeats of ABC's similarly underappreciated Invasion).
I do appreciate the heads up even though the DVDs come out in January, and I'll be springing for those so I can watch it uninterrupted by commercials. Can't wait!
-
Had a nice leisurely lunch with lots of laughs and fun. And becasue it was an early lunch, I got home by a little after 1.
-
Today's mail brought the rest of Criterion's December wave of Blu-rays: THE THIRD MAN, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, and BOTTLE ROCKET. CHUNGKING EXPRESS on Blu-ray came on Saturday. They all come out on the 16th of December, so they'll wait until I've finished with the Blu-ray set of LOST.
-
I got 3 1/2 episodes of LOST watched. I could have finished the fourth one if I hadn't had to go back to listen to the audio commentary on episode 1.
It's marvelous reliving all of the twists and surprises of Season 4, in my opinion the best season since the first season. And even though I know the twists and turns, the episodes are still loads of fun to see again, and many more things register the second time around, of course, since the shows are so densely packed with information.
-
Just like Season 3 on Blu-ray, the episodes in 1080p are much sharper and more detailed looking than the network (720p) broadcasts. You can count every pore on every face in close-up, and everything is so much more dimensional on these discs.
The sound is definitely more expansive, too. It's uncomrpessed 5.1 sound (16 bit) which really kicks in during storms, explosions, and the like.
Such a great way to prepare for Season 5.
-
Should I see Shrek this evening? Billy Elliot? In The Heights? Gypsy?
Are their decent seats available for In The Heights? If so... I'd say, see that show. -Although, if you could score a ticket to South Pacific, I think you'd enjoy that show more. -I have a sneaking suspicion you'll think In the Heights is too loud and too "pop".

Do you have plans for tomorrow morning? Are you planning on heading over to Broadway to watch the Macy's Parade?
See a show tonight! Support the economy! ;)

...I'm just wondering just how much extra rehearsal time the cancellation will provide the production and creative teams? I'm guessing this would prevent them from going into (possibly more) overtime, since they'll probably just trade out the three-hour performance slot for another three or four hour rehearsal call. -Which would include the crew and orchestra.

Oh...

I had a nice nap. :)

Hmmm, I have SHREK tix for Dec. 3.
...It's also interesting that they're canceling the Tuesday show - which is actually their second show of the week (they're currently running Monday-Saturday during previews). I guess they want to put the changes in before their double on Wednesday.
*And I do hope that the show does do well, and gets "fixed" - if it really needs fixing. I have a couple of good friends in the cast, crew and orchestra, and I really do wish them a long run.

Yes... we had kind of disappeared from the site for awhile and we weren't sure anyone would remember/want to see us.

LOL! Actually I was pleasantly surprised by him. Of course, I had pretty low expectations. But he still isn't bad to look at on stage ;)

Going to write for a bit and then head back down to continue visiting with Jack, Kate, Sawyer/James, and Ben.
WBBL.

Sitting here at Joe Allen waiting for Jessica. Seeing White Xmas tonight - walked right up and got fifth row center.
-
I am truly sorry if we inadvertently insulted any of Manhattan's lovely HHW folks. It was mostly shyness on our part, really.
-
So enough about Bernadette Peters [ ;) ]
How did you both like A Catered Affair??
-
For ask bk day:
How come when you post from your iPhone, the post header doesn't show a little cell phone icon, like when DR DtM posted earlier from his?
-
So enough about Bernadette Peters [ ;) ]

We liked it, actually. It was definitely more of a straight-play with songs rather than a traditional musical. "Subdued" was the word that Jed used. But Harvey was wonderful and the performance given by Faith Prince was excellent. The songs were, I'm afraid, rather forgettable. I can't remember a single melody now. But enjoyable overall.
We also got a great kick out of Brad Whitford in Boeing Boeing, but sadly Christine Baranksi was off that night, so we saw her understudy. The only real casting disappointment of the trip, I think.
-
We had a bit of a scare before ACA, actually. Some man we now refer to as "Purple Shirt Guy" outside the theater started a rumor that Harvey was not going on that night, since it was the 4th of July. We were rather nervously awaiting an official announcement to that effect, and were relieved when it never came.
-

If you post via your iPhone - or other PDA - via a WiFi connection instead of a 3G or other cellular network connection, any posting is considered "local", and not via a cell phone.
I think.
-
Testing, testing via iPhone 3G.
-
...Or not. ??? ???

I actually got to meet her and get her autograph! She performed here in Olympia in 1996 and she was incredible! She puts on a great show...in my humble opinion (IMHO in Internet lingo ;)).

Sitting here at Joe Allen waiting for Jessica. Seeing White Xmas tonight - walked right up and got fifth row center.
Sounds good, BK! If we were in NYC this weekend, White Christmas would be at the top of my list.
-
DR Jose, when you post via your iPhone, do you see HHW as it actually looks? On the browser on my Incite phone, I get a skinnied-down version--I guess it's the mobile version--of HHW. No avatars, only about five posts on a page, no qoute or reply buttons.
If I can figure out how, I will follow a co-worker's recommedation and install the Opera Mobile browser--that should let me see the normal version of HHW.
-
WHITE CHRISTMAS looks like a wonderful show. That would have been my choice, too.
Will there be another cast recording, ya think?

The iPhone uses Safari, so it appears "normal". -And I'm guessing that is what is causing the "mobile" icon on your posts - or rather, not causing them on mine.
*Btw, I had two friends who had an Incite... And they both returned them two days later... -Just sayin'....

Nope, since it's basically the original cast. Sort of. Almost. ;)
-Well, at least Jeffrey Denman and Meredith Patterson. -I'm very happy that Brian D'Arcy James appears on the OCR, and he would have been in the current Broadway production had he not been cast in/as Shrek.

Well, if anyone would like to take their son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandson, granddaughter, "Little sister", "Little brother", etc., etc., etc...
Disney has announced a limited-time offer of free children’s tickets to its Broadway productions of “The Lion King,” “Mary Poppins” and “The Little Mermaid.” From Monday through Dec. 12, ticket buyers can receive one free child’s admission (18 and under) with each purchase of a full-priced ticket for shows between Jan. 6 and March 13.

Dinner was fab. Great seeing Jess again. I had rigatoni and sausage in a light tomato sauce - ready yummilicious. I'm in the Marriot keeping warm. More later.

I talked to Mark this afternoon, and we will be meeting with a team from the hospital sometime on Friday. They are suggesting that Stan be moved to a hospice center. I spent quite a little while with Stan this afternoon crying and praying.
-
DR Jose, did your friends say why they returned their Incites? I'm still not sure about it myself. I'm glad I have 30 days to decide.

They just didn't like the feel of it. They both could tell - independently of each other - that the Incite was trying to be an iPhone/Blackberry Curve without being an exact copycat of either product. They both wanted something a bit more ergonomic and intuitive.
-
DR TCB, hugs and prayers for you and Stan.

I am waiting in perpetual anticipation for my Sparkling Prize.
-
Time for rehearsal! Tonight, we won't have our director/music director, so we're just going to have a speed-through and skip all the songs. It'll make for a very short rehearsal! Then, none tomorrow! ;D
Have a good rest of the evening, all!
-
Hmm... Currently watching "Rosie... Live".... At least it was nice see some friends dancing with her and Liza in the opening number... And Kevin Stites in the pit... Hmm..
-
And the word of the day is: DANDLE!
DANDLE, DANDLE, DANDLE,
The baby loves to sway.
If he'll stay dry and ready,
We'll DANDLE all the day!

Just wait until you find yourself keeping vampire hours, up all night and sleeping during the day. I went through that for a while, and der B has had at least two phases of it.

Hmm... I'm trying to decide which program I want to watch live during the 10:00pm hour: The Obamas and Barbara Walters, or "Top Chef"?
*Andrew from "TC4" will be "tweeting" tonight live on Twitter, so... Hmm...
-
Hi all and a very Happy Pre Stuffed Thanksgiving to one and all!
I also want to send out vibes to DR VixMom and DR TCB's Dear Friend Stan.
-
Hello DR DANISE!
-
He had a chest the size of a South American country.
DR SINGDAW....that was one great link!
-
Intermission. I'll have much to say in the notes. Needless to say, the songs are fab.
-
And here are excerpts from this year's crop of nominees (http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2008/nov/25/bad-sex-award-shortlist) for bad sex writing.
Strange, that not one of the books was titled Things That Go Bump In the Night.
-
Getting ready to watch TOP CHEF.
I am watching a collection of Alain Delon films....well....movies. PURPLE NOON is a version of THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY and has some beautiful colour photography in Rome, Paris, and points West.
-
I also got WALL-E which I will watch sooner or later.
-
I'm torn about what to do tomorrow. Thelma has invited me to come and spend the day with her but I already have my turkey in the sink to defrost.
-
I can hardly wait for the MR BK WHITE CHRISTMAS report......are there any other SEE-celebriteez in the audience?
-
Hello DR DANISE!
Hello right back at ya, Dr JRand!
-
I'm torn about what to do tomorrow. Thelma has invited me to come and spend the day with her but I already have my turkey in the sink to defrost.
Sounds like home is the place to be, DR DANISE.
And, no, DR JMK - I did not win the PowerBall....although I have a ticket for the drawing tonight.
-
One nice thing: mostly adults in the audience, so not much whooping and hollering, although there's a bit of it.
-
I just filled my gas tank for less than $20.00! ! !

We're down to $1.77/gal. Can you BELIEVE it? I never thought I see gas under two dollars a gallon again in my lifetime.
Scary, because I worry about when it goes back up.

Whooping and hollering at WHITE CHRISTMAS on Broadway would be most unseemly.
Better they do that at SHREK....

I just filled my gas tank for less than $20.00! ! !

Hi all and a very Happy Pre Stuffed Thanksgiving to one and all!
I also want to send out vibes to DR VixMom and DR TCB's Dear Friend Stan.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays, Danise.

Suddenly I am hungry.
I now realize that I have always confused the two television shows KLONDIKE and THE ALASKANS.....

Hi DR Ginny,
I bet your getting really excited (and a bit scared) to be so close to retirement. :)
-
Thinking of you, DR TCB.....
DR GINNY....what do you get for a 90 year old on her birthday?
-
{{{{{DR TCB}}}}}
Thank you, Ginny. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and concern. I am trying not to get weepy. :(
-
Who will ride the bus with me if I ever am able to get wireless internet again?

Thank you, Ginny. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and concern. I am trying not to get weepy. :(
Sometimes it's best to let it out, DR TCB.
I know I'm feeling so much better after this last trip. I know it sounds ungrateful but in some ways it was the best thing that I was there by myself. I had time to do my grieving in my own way for as long as I needed to. I'm not saying I'm 100%--I don't honestly know if I ever will be but I do feel more at peace then I have for what seems like a very long time.

Because my computer is acting very sluggish and because I have celery to chop and because we have a very early "turkey call" in the morning:
'night!

I have just realized that PURPLE NOON has no scenes in Paris.....I also watched THE CONFORMIST yesterday.....set in Paris......
But PURPLE NOON has a sublime score by Nino Rota.

He had a chest the size of a South American country.

I am going to the "Lights of Love" on December 4th at the local Hospice. I bought two lights--one for Mom and one for Dad in their memory. I think they would like that and it's better then sending flowers that I don't know will be delivered or not.
I am missing Bear and still look for him when I forget he's gone.
-
Hi DR Ginny,
I bet your getting really excited (and a bit scared) to be so close to retirement. :)
Yes, DR Danise, very excited. Not really scared, though. It all seems a little unreal and probably won't hit me until after the New Year.
-

'night!
'night, DR Ginny!

Strange, that not one of the books was titled Things That Go Bump In the Night.
Strange, but I was once in a show by Terrance McNally titled . . .AND THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT.
-
Thinking of you, DR TCB.....
DR GINNY....what do you get for a 90 year old on her birthday?
3 Vera Bradley scarves and a box of Fannie May candy. Actually, just having all 3 of her grandchildren here together will please her most of all.
-
Well, there's not much else going on with me. I went and had my new filling put in. I almost had a heart attack when I was told it would be $157.00! For one tooth! And he said I need 3 (!) crowns because my teeth are getting brittle in my old age. Yikes!
-
Well, since I'm up and can sleep in a bit tomorrow, I think I'm going to watch Top Chief--live! The DVR is great but sometimes it gets tiring seeing everything the day after.
-
...Or I could just end up falling asleep on the couch for a bit...

That is what I just did....and now, two hours later...

Hmmm, I have SHREK tix for Dec. 3.
...*And I do hope that the show does do well, and gets "fixed" - if it really needs fixing. I have a couple of good friends in the cast, crew and orchestra, and I really do wish them a long run.
A couple (meaning two) friends in the cast, the crew, and the orchestra. I'm amazed that the unions allow this kind of doubling!

It has been a long day. About 8 hours of driving with mom and dad and then a really enjoyable night with DR jhvw and his parents. My parents and I checked into the hotel about 8:30 PM or so and I was able to use the treadmill for about 30 minutes before a quick shower and relaxing.

I have to apologize for not being caught up on the posts. Last night my mother said she couldn't sleep with the lights from the desktop computer and wireless router in the room she was sleeping in, so I unplugged and haven't really had access to the internet until tonight.

(((((Elmore))))
I hope your night was better than your day

jhvw and I had a good time reminiscing about out NYC trip together and all the fun we had with the HHW gang.
He has been very sick over the past few weeks and is finally feeling better. It's great to see him in such good spirits. :)

Back from White Christmas, about which more later. I'm going to eat some chocolate licorice now.
-
Because of the stupid Al Queida threat, the streets around Grand Central station were horrible today - many cops with machine guns, endless cop cars. The terrorists do this to ruin holidays, these threats. So here is my holiday wish for these mofo's: May a nice big bomb find you and blow you into a million little disgusting pieces. Amen.
-
tonight my angel dentist had me in and fitted me for flouride trays - She says they will be ready on Monday. Apparently I will be sleeping with these for the next several weeks

I have decided that I shall pay attention during this course of treatment learn all kinds of medical stuff and becoming fabulously wealthy from the new hit medical TV drama I shall be writing

I hope your night was better than your day
Thank you, DR vixmom! I send my holiday wishes to you and your family. I got home and found a phone call from a turkey! Thank you, DR MBarnum.
This footage on CNN of the attacks in Mumbai is horrifying. Those poor people.

MattH I shall expect GLOWING reviews from you!!!

FJL - you must come up with a snappy title
Skip of course will write the theme music for which Elmore will do the orchestrations

Jose can cast the show since he already knows all the actors worth knowing
I think he should also be in charge of the catering

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes of good health and comfort to each and every DR this holiday weekend!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good night, all!
I was sort of surprised this morning that when the dogs and officers walked through the train car before we departed, that a team of them ended up staying on the train for the trip down to DC. -And then being "greeted" at Union Station with an Army officer holding a machine gun... :-\
-
I watched the rest of the LOST episode I had started and three more. Included in those were two of the season's strongest and most moving episodes: "The Constant" (probably my favorite of the season) and "Ji Yeon" that concerned the birth of Sun's baby.
I have six more episodes to go which I should have no trouble finishing tomorrow. Then, I'll start on the bonus features.
-
Of course we will need a wise, compassionate father/doctor figure... Dr TCB?
-
Well, I can at least recommend a good caterer for the opening night reception.
My brother, Mike, and is kids actually headed on down to Richmond tonight. I would have driven down with them, but to get from my brother Don's place to Mike's would have required dealing with a ton(!) of traffic. -The traffic cameras were basically either solid red or solid white. So, instead, I will be driving down with my brother, Don, in the morning - which was my original plan anyway.
-And I didn't have to miss any TV either. ;)
-
With Vixdad riding the LIRR and the subways everyday I can't even listen to the news warnings...
-
I then began my evening of prime time entertainment with BONES. A delightful episode. Brennan's father (Ryan O'Neal) always makes for an entertaining presence on the show (sorry he can't get his personal life straightened out).
The new lab guy looks like a keeper, too. He didn't get fired or quit at the end of the episode so maybe he WILL stay around.
-
DR Singdaw, my condolences to you and DH Jayson on your loss
Next, I watched last night's THE MENTALIST. Very entertaining even if I did figure out the murderer easily.
-
And I concluded my evening of viewing with tonight's LAW & ORDER. As usual, an interesting case and an interesting conclusion to it. I enjoyed it.
-
Let's see; we need parts for Anthony and TD...
-
So tomorrow, I will have ROSIE LIVE, THE SHIELD, and CSI: NY to choose from as I cook and eat lunch.
-
Matt - just curious ... do you keep all the DVD's you review?
I have a mental image of you sitting in leather recliner (like the ones the boys had in Friends) watching a HUGE HDTV (more like a small movie screen in my imaginings)
and all four walls fitted floor to ceiling with shelves fullof DVDs
The cheapest we saw on the way here today was $1.54 in Sioux City. It was $1.59 in a couple other places
-
WOW I was excited to pay only $1.99 on Monday night - definitely the lowest it has been in at least 3 years
I am very glad I have my own hotel room here. It's great to be with my family, but nice to have a breather.
Well I am getting sleepy....Have a beautiful day tomorrow everyone
I shall definitely be counting you all amongst my many blessings!!!
I was very happy with the results of Dancing with the Stars last night. I would have been happy with either of the final two, but the winner definitely deserved it
Today, I went to Costco and topped off my tank (I added 4.455 gallons) for only $1.899 per gallon! That's the lowest that I've seen in a very long time!!
I'm watching "Rosie Live," right now. I love Rosie. So far I'm enjoying it.
All friends are kept abreast of what I'm reviewing and I'm happy to give away any discs I don't want (which is about 80% of them). I keep about 20% for myself.
Those that aren't claimed are donated to the library at regular intervals.
Your vision of me is not far wrong! Even before I began reviewing, my walls were covered with DVDs, laserdiscs, etc. And I do have a leather recliner, but it stays mostly upright when I'm watching stuff for work.
-
Now, I think I'll head down to get some sleep.
Good night!
Here's my theory on the gas prices - now that Obama is going to be President, the oil companies are scared shitless about what he'll do. They do this ALL the time, then when they think it's safe they do what they did earlier this year and jack up the prices outrageously, until they are, once again, threatened. So, my feeling is until THEY get a feeling as to what Obama will do, prices will stay where they are or go lower.
-
...And to all a Goodnight.
Speaking of ONE LIFE TO LIVE, as BK did in the notes, somtimes DR EvilTwin appeared on yesterday's show in another non-speaking role as a nun, in January, she will have lines on the show.
