Thansk you dear! I am up but not yet about... hopefully that will come soon enough!
-
BTW, it's a beautiful mid-Winter day in New York. The temperature is supposed to be up in the high 40s!!!
-
Unlike some people I am REFOCILLATED by my birthday
-
Let us continue
-
I am sad to hear about the Kentucky Repertory Theatre in danger of closing.....but a couple of things in the article bothered me - in addition to the facts.....
They have a subscription base of 500 and a budget of $600,000 - and they attract 30,000 people...and yet nobody gets "paid much." And the artistic director says that a season of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "Hamlet" is unthinkable.
What the hell kind of plays do they do? Did they do "High School Musical" last year?
I was looking at their website - the productions they have photos for certainly don't look like they spend a lot of money on values....but it is a professional theatre, so they do have Equity salaries....not much money, but a BIG bite of the budget, I'm sure.
Sorry the core actors and administrators and staff of eleven will lose their jobs....but maybe they can do "Cindersmella", "Cash on Delivery", and "Christmas Belles" someplace else. Or maybe DR CP can go down there and straighten them out.
-
To Page 2
-
And now, at 7:55am I must go for a while.
Thanks again to all for the good wishes.

Maybe they should get Libby Appel in there to fix things up.....she and her relatives could use some of that $600,000!
-
Your day is just beginning, DR BEN!!
-
TOD:
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...........
John Gielgud
Albert Finney - is he English?
Dudley Sutton
Julie Andrews
Julie Christie
Dorothy Tutin
And I shall await other lists with anticipation.
-
Maybe I am just incredulous....and being unfair.....we have a subscription of over 800 people for 4 shows and a budget of about $58,000...and no one is paid anything.....
I just sent them $25 and I hope they survive!
-
Happy Happy Birthday, DR Ben!

And the word of the day is: REFOCILLATE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: WARM ALL OVER

Jrand,
Though I've yet to see any shows at Horse Cave/Kentucky Rep, I know several people who have worked there and vaguely know the Artistic Director as we both came up through the same theatre department...though at different times (I, much earlier). It has a good reputation...and it is never good news to hear that a theatre company is in financial straits (as so many of them are). But they do seem in better financial shape than the theatre I'm involved with in Lexington...and I fear their fundraising might impact our own feeble attempts. We certainly have not been able to summon the aid of Annie Potts or George Clooney or Ned Beatty. Of course, George with one stroke of his pen could help us both out and probably never miss it.
-
Monday morning greetings! The sun is out and it's a good thing, because I think I've just discovered that our furnace isn't running. Hmm, Richard will have to take a look when he gets home from his exercising.

I have jury duty this morning so I must shower and shave and be on my way to the Marion County Circuit Court.

Gosh--I'm reading everyone's lists of favorite British actors and I see how many that I didn't think of that I also love.
Though I'm also seeing a couple mistakes, if we are speaking strictly about the British (and how else can one speak about the British but strictly?)

That's what I was thinking so I checked out Miss Lansbury to make sure. I know that she spent time in Ireland in the 80s and I wanted to make sure she is not like Mr. Victor Herbert or Mr. George Bernard Shaw or Mr. Oscar Wilde of Irish desecent.

Thank you to Amy (loved the picture, I'll have to find the book), Dan-the-Man, Ginny, TD, Larry (again) and Michael Barnum

On the other hand, today is the 200th anniversary of the Walnut Street Theatre (http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/20090201_An_icon_unbowed.html) here in Philly, which has had an incredibly successful run since the 80s mostly by producing productions of classic plays and musicals.

No, Ms Lansbury is indeed British (though I had to check, too--I thought she had been born in Australia.)

ALSO TODAY IN THEATRE HISTORY:

This is amusing:
I'm the February "Artist of the Month" on The Digital Bits website.
http://www.thedigitalbits.com/artist/0209/aom0209.html
Why is that amusing?
Because I can't draw a straight line...sometimes not even with a ruler.
:)

My work project today is indeed the Blu-ray of PRETTY WOMAN. There are a few old bonus features (including a commentary) ported over from previous DVD releases, so since the movie is two hours (too long as I recall), I suspect I won't finish with those bonus features until this evening before prime time TV starts.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Ben -- and many more!!!

OH my Ginny! WARMEST WISHES THAT YOUR FURNANCE START WORKING IMMEDIATELY!!!

TOD: There have been so very many British actors and actresses I have loved seeing in movies I hardly know where to begin or how to be complete.
Deborah Kerr is an all-time favorite, of course, as is David Niven and Vanessa Redgrave and Peter O'Toole (can we call him British for now?).
But Cedric Hardwicke is a great favorite, as is Judith Anderson and Gladys Cooper. There is Ronald Colman, as well, and Charles Laughton and Elsa Lanchester....and Julie Andrews, of course...but also Julie Christie and Tom Courtenay and Terence Stamp and Peter Finch...and on and on....
Richard Burton, of course...Sir Alec Guinness...James Robertson Justice...Glynis Johns....Richard Todd...Joan Greenwood...Lynn Redgrave...Alan Bates...Oliver Reed...Glenda Jackson...Helen Mirren...Judi Dench...Daniel Day-Lewis...Denholm Elliott...Ian Holm...Ian McKellen...Brian Blessed...Sian Phillips...Simon Callow...Emma Thompson...Kenneth Branagh...Anthony Hopkins...John Mills...Hayley Mills...Wendy Hiller...Sean Connery (see O'Toole, above)...Laurence Olivier....Vivien Leigh...Greer Garson...Angela Lansbury...Annette Crosby...Gemma Craven...Margaret Lockwood...Christopher Gable...Twiggy...Antonia Ellis...Moira Shearer...Jean Simmons...
...and on and on...
-
I see from searching on the Internet that location shooting for Goodbye, Mr, Chips [1969] occurred at The Repton School, Derbyshire, England.
-
Congrats to Druxy!!!
-
More thanks to Druxy, Matt H., Miss Karen, Jose and Ron!
My day is full of good wishes from good people
-
My sister called earlier to wish me Bon Anniversaire and I will probably be the recipient of phone calls this evening from other siblings and a nephew and niece or two.
-
Well, I'll be heading out to lunch with best friend John in a bit, so I guess I'd better head downstairs and get ready. I must also make a trip to the post office this afternoon.
WBBL.

And how could I have forgotten Glenda Jackson?
Argh!
-
And now I'm REALLY going! ™
;D

And how could I have forgotten Glenda Jackson?

Leaving her out is where you lost the magic...and you've just GOT to get it back!

I was going to put my favs Richard Harris and Peter O'Toole, but I guess they don't count since they're Irish
(I've included some from Wales, so they may or may not count)
Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldham, Richard Burton, and Michael Caine
Julie Christie, Emma Thompson, Vivien Leigh, Helen Bonham Carter, Helen Mirren and Catherine Zeta Jones
-
Little by little, Facebook reveals itself to be an amazing thing. People from my past are finding me...and linking me to other people from my past...and so on and so forth...it's astonishing, really.

Oh, and I liked John McEnery (he played Mercutio in the 1969 Romeo and Juliet)
And of course, Haley Mills during my elementary and teen years

Happy Birthday, Ben.

I counted the Irish and a Scotsman anyway. They're all from the Isle of Angels...and BK probably won't have a "Who Are Your Favorite Scottish/Irish Actors" day.
-
Thanks Jeff (JMK)
-
Oh, and I liked John McEnery (he played Mercutio in the 1969 Romeo and Juliet)
And of course, Haley Mills during my elementary and teen years
His brother Peter co-starred with Hayley in "The MoonSpinners" and starred as "The Fighting Prince of Donegal", too. He also had a plum role in the British movie version of "Entertaining Mr. Sloane."

The snow in London is bad enough (6 inches so far with more predicted) that they have closed many West End Theatres for the evening performances.
Wow!

That reminds me that I also love the late great Beryl Reid, who is the definitive Kath in the film version of Mr Orton's comedy, and she's so wonderful as Mrs Slipslop in JOSEPH ANDREWS that I wish she'd done more Restoration and 18th Century English comedy roles like Mrs Hardcastle and Lady Wishfort.

Happy Birthday DR Ben. Hope you have a great day!

Oops, Happy Belated BD wishes to DR MichaelS
(that's what I get for being an E and T HHWayer -- outa the loop)

Yep what a crazy night on tv tonight. Especially with all the NBC shows!
I am most excited about MEDIUM. Yeah! I really hope all those Super Bowl ads might help the ratings (that and being after a new HEROES).
Also CHUCK in 3d (and i found a pair of 3D glasses -yeah!).
-
I did not get to watch anything this weekend that i'd recorded end of last week. So hopefully i can catch up on a few things tonight before CHUCK.

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO DR BEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
I'm wondering if DRs Kerry, Laura and Sandra were affected by this last night:
Comcast investigating Super Bowl Porn feed (http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/hourlyupdate/278448.php)
*And with all this talk about the upcoming switch to digital TV, well..
"The porn broke into the standard-definition feed reaching analog TV sets. Comcast’s high-definition feed was not affected."
-
Happy birthday to DR Iris
-
After my busy weekend I am very sleepy and not at all in the mood to work. Like the groundhog I saw my shadow this morning and would really like to go back to bed and take a nap.
-
I'm up, I'm up. The sky is bright blue and I am groggy as all get out and I think we all know how groggy all get out is.
-
OH my Ginny! WARMEST WISHES THAT YOUR FURNANCE START WORKING IMMEDIATELY!!!
Thanks, DR Vixmom! Scott (our nephew) and his brother Rob, our furnace guys, have been here and sort of fixed it. They need to get a part to fix it for good and will be back later this afternoon. At least, for now. we have heat.
-
Oh, when I got off the elevator by the parking ramp this morning there was blood on the floor. And I heard someone left a gun in the Fed Ex box on the skywalk. Makes me wonder if that girl was REALLY after revenge! Oh my! (I'm totally speculating, mind you, but it was the first thing that I thought).
-
Yeah for the return of heat~!
-
Groggy is a good word for how I feel today, too. Think I'll go home and make lunch.
-
DR Ben, HAVE A DAY AS WONDERFUL AS YOU ARE!

Wow, what a great cake DAW!!! Thanks for the wishes
Chocolate, my favorite.
P.S. The card will be opened this evening. I have received 6 birthday cards and will wait to open them all tonight at dinner.
I like when my cards arrive early & I leave leave them out to look at. To me cards are the best gift. I like them early because after my birthday Keith wants the mess gone. He can't complain until then. ;)

Thanks for not ripping me a new one for getting the Orton title wrong...of course, it's "Entertaining Mr. Sloane" and not "Taking Care of...". I corrected it in my original post.
-
Color me groggy too. However, after the Noon News, I'm gonna head out for some fresh air, and most likely some Art at MoMA. Hopefully, that will de-groggify me.
-
I'm curious if there were any commercials that people either loved or hated.
To me there were only a few really good ones. A lot of "what the hecks?". Although some the guys laughed at, and the girls thought "that was so not funny!".
Most people did not seem to care for all the bud horse ones.
-
No Comcast here, so no porn.
But the online newspaper says that Tucson was affected.
-
getting the Orton title wrong...
I just figured it was some nouveau indie with the original as a taking-off point. :)
-
I just received notice from Amazon.com that my order of the new recording of "Allegro" has shipped.
I'm really looking forward to listening to it.

With such a starry cast and intriguing material, it certainly has great potential!

Received the last piece of info for a very large multi-state, multi-country tax return. Or at least I think it's the last piece of info.
Tax season is pretty much underway at this point, for me anyway.

Answering e-mails and whatnot. I had to send a slightly stern e-mail to the author of the long musical. He'd called the lyricist this morning asking her not to do something I'd already had her do. Since it was my idea, he should have called me, but I suspect he likes these games of going around people - he's called me about things concerning them, too. She sent him the revised lyric and the reasons we did it, and he called her to say he loved it. I wrote him asking him to keep me in the loop about anything concerning the songs - I'm putting in a lot of time working with the composer and lyricist and if we're a team we're a team. I knew he wouldn't surrender easily, but the reason all this good work is getting done on ALL fronts is because they finally have a team leader.

I just received notice from Amazon.com that my order of the new recording of "Allegro" has shipped.
I'm really looking forward to listening to it.
Me, too. But the Amazon notice just said "Rodgers and Hammerstein's ..."--it took me a minute to remember Rodgers and Hammerstein's what.

This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park across from the Church . Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.

Little by little, Facebook reveals itself to be an amazing thing. People from my past are finding me...and linking me to other people from my past...and so on and so forth...it's astonishing, really.
So far I've only had one, and my reaction was, who is this? I looked her up in my senior yearbook and I still don't know who she is!
I only recognized about a 10th of the FB classmates. I was very shy in H.S. and looking at my yearbook I realize how few people I actually knew.
The sad thing about getting the classmates together is that you then find out who passed on. The first friend I had in H.S. was also a pianist so we bonded immediately.
He was also gay, and kind of an outcast among the jocks and rednecks I went to school with. I learned that he was no longer among us, and it makes me sad that I don't know how to contact his parents and tell them how much his friendship meant to me. It really was the only thing that made moving here tolerable.
Another person on the deceased list I had known quite well. He was in a band with my HS/college boyfriend, and I fixed him up with my roommate. They dated for several years, broke up and married other people. I was sad that he was gone and thought that if my former roommate knew, she would also be very sad.
I also connected via FB with my very first boyfriend in HS and his wife. We'd dated for almost 2 years before I broke up with him to date the aforementioned musician, but I became friends with his future wife while we were in college and was glad that they are still together after 30 years!
His wife didn't think that our friend David had actually died, so she tracked him down. It turned out he was very much alive, and married my college roommate 5 years ago. (Her 4th husband!) The deceased was someone of the same name but 2 years younger than us. So over the weekend I had a 2 hour phone conversation catching up with my old roommate who I'd lost touch with after she married and left Atlanta.
And I was able to send them a link of "Not Yet Dead", which they enjoyed.
The wonders of Facebook!

Hey, Bruce, do you remember a CD called
The Music of Bruce Kimmel (http://www.castalbums.org/recordings/9818)
from about 1997? Anthony just found a copy of it at Academy. I don't know how much he paid for it but he got it for me for my birthday! What a coinicidence.

No, some other Franatic, evidently. :) I do have a call in to my vintage newspaper dealer to see if he has one lying around somewhere.

I wonder if there has ever been a gathering of frantic frenetic Franatics.

There have been small gatherings chez K. :)

Whew! Was that the last of the three parts - or the middle?
-
Ben, it's a very hard CD to find.
-
I ended up doing the long jog, just because I needed to think - I have a lot of stuff on my mind right now, including one particular thing that's a little irksome and that I'll have to deal with this week, but it also helps me think in terms of the writing, which I must now buckle down Winsocki and do.
-
JMK - I was working on a ditty starting with "There's a plaice for us," but gave it the hook because the only direction my mind kept going in was "Hold my rod and we're halfway there" and that seemed vaguely unseemply
-
Ben, it's a very hard CD to find.
Wow, that makes it even better!
-
Whew! Was that the last of the three parts - or the middle?
It was the middle one. I have the first and third, and I actually somewhere along the line acquired the first page only of the middle one (the one that just sold). A long time ago whoever that nice kid was who did the research on the A&E Bio mailed me a really bad Xerox of the third installment, so I have that lying around somewhere, too. When I die, the kids are going to have their hands full. :)

We received a kind of upsetting letter from the Freddy's credit card people today saying that our account security had been breached by a "third party retailer," and that all of our credit information had been revealed, so we're getting a new card number and we also should start fraud investigations with all the credit bureaus. Oy. I went online and didn't see anything unseemly on our pending charges, thankfully.
-
I received a similar letter from my bank a few weeks ago which said that my account number falls within a range of numbers that had been breached. They said not every number had been tampered with but for safety sake they were re-issuing new cards with new numbers. They said I would be receiving a new ATM card in the very near future.
I check my accounts every day anyway (thanks to high speed) but now I'm particularly vigilant. Like JMK I haven't yet seen anything untoward (or unseemly).

I counted the Irish and a Scotsman anyway. They're all from the Isle of Angels...and BK probably won't have a "Who Are Your Favorite Scottish/Irish Actors" day.
Maybe bk ought to just go with a "Who Are Your Favorite Actors from Eastern Europe Day" to be inclusive ....
Scotland and Wales count as "British".

I didn't even know about the 3-D glasses (and 3-D episode of CHUCk) until yesterday's commercial that I just happened to see. :-\ I don't know if I can even get some glasses.
-
I spent most of the afternoon watching PRETTY WOMAN on the upcoming Blu-ray disc. The film is a Cinderella story pure and simple, and as such, is WAY too long for the familiar story it's telling. Easy to see why Julia Roberts charmed the world in it, though.
Transfer is pretty solid with varying light levels bringing out more or less grain in the image. Very good color reproduction. And it has an uncompressed 5.1 audio mix (24-bit!), not that it was needed with such simple sound design.
-
I've written a little over four pages - and now I must be on my way to the work session, after which, I'll return briefly and then be on my way to my working dinner with David Wechter.

Back from jury duty. I went through the whole choosing the jury process, but was not chosen to be one of the 12 angry men.
Is there any wonder????
It was a long and hellish bus ride: too many moronic high and junior high school kids cramming onto a bus eating MacDonalds fries and burgers, spilling drinks and personal property, and once again forcing the MTA to squeeze 30 lbs of idiocy inro a 20 lb bag.
-
I had time to watch two of the bonus features: the gag reel and a brief live video recording of Gere playing piano, Marshall playing drums, and Roberts singing at the wrap party.
-
I had skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Luke was there playing Cupid again, but it wasn't very interesting. Nothing in the previews, of course.

JRand58,
I like your theatre's website. A bit more colourful than ours and easier to navigate. I think we should make much more use of photos. We also have a blog site where, until my trip to London, I was putting up my daily words of theatrical wisdom. It will hopefully resume sometime this week, if I can get my act together.

They are actually our most frequent visitors; they like to hang with the Cardinals. They're harder to get good pictures of because they feed mainly on the ground and move pretty fast on and off the feeders - and they do make a racket in the morning! I think they nest on the scrub on the vacant lots next door.

I'm the February "Artist of the Month" on The Digital Bits website.
http://www.thedigitalbits.com/artist/0209/aom0209.html
Why is that amusing?
Because I can't draw a straight line...sometimes not even with a ruler.
:)
CONGRATULATIONS! :)

Little by little, Facebook reveals itself to be an amazing thing. People from my past are finding me...and linking me to other people from my past...and so on and so forth...it's astonishing, really.
While I haven't made many connections from my past I have been enjoying it. I've been tempted to add my maiden name.

I can imagine it was. :-\
-
DR elmore, sweet photos. I know what you mean about missing Jayden. I really miss my little grand-nephew who recently turned 1 and wish I could have gone to his birthday party.
-
DR Matt H, I surprised you even needed to lose 14 pounds. Congratulations!
-
DR Der Brucer, thank you for your travel comments, especially since you have been to all of the locations.
The birds in your yard are looking lovely today. We have a pair of mallards out back (too far to photograph). They have been their long enough now we are wondering if they are will be nesting there.

Back from a longish work session. Lots of packages arrived today. And now, I must try to write another three pages or so.

Kerry and I went to the garden to see the art. There were many arts.

After walking through the southern end of Central Park - and after stopping into Henri Bendel for the free (1/2) brownie from Chocolate Bar - I headed back to MoMA.
I checked out the new Jasper Johns (http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/2008/jasperjohns/) exhibit, and made another pass through REBUS (http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/exhibitions.php?id=9695&ref=calendar). However, I found myself quite unexpectedly fascinated by Performance 1: Tehching Hsieh (http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/exhibitions.php?id=11546).
When I first read the description of the exhibit, I did not find the prospect of viewing the documentation about a performance art piece all the interesting. Boy, was I wrong! In essence...
"This exhibition focuses on the artist's earliest performance, commonly called his Cage Piece (1978–79), with 365 photographs meticulously documenting the daily passing of time."
Basically, the artist locked himself in a cage for a year. He had an assistant take a picture of him everyday - and those pics line the walls of the gallery. Additionally, MoMA has recreated the cage, as well as displayed some of the posters for the artist's various "pieces". It's not a "pretty" exhibit, nor is it "ugly". It's just one of those things that gets one to thinking: How could someone choose to live in a cage for a year? How could someone even think up such a thing? Could I possibly ever do that?... And thinking...
*Since the artist shaves his head at the start of each year-long "performance", you can track his progress according the length of his hair - even though he mostly maintains the same neutral expression from day to day, picture to picture.

It didn't work for Jerome Kern as ZIP GOES A MILLION either!
I love THE CLOSER! This episode just reinforces my impression of Brenda Lee as the den mother of a bunch of rascally boy scouts. It's very funny.

Maybe you already have a pair, DR George--do you have a DVD that's in 3-D? It looked to me like it requires the red/blue type of glasses.
I looked around the grocery store for glasses but never saw any display for them. I have red-blue; red-green; and amber 3-D glasses here. One of them should work. If not, I'll have to do without, I guess.
The ones we got at the supermarket were issued so folks culd watch the 3D ad segment during the Superbowl - they are amber/blue.

I've never heard of amber/blue glasses for 3-D. :-\

And, yes, Monkey (http://tinyurl.com/dzsxds) also paid a visit to MoMA earlier today. ;)

I've written a little over seven pages, so I'm fine with that or I'll finish the eighth page when I get home. I got the Natalie Wood box set today, so I may watch Sex And The Single Girl later. I checked the transfers of Gypsy and Daisy Clover. Daisy's color seems fine but the transfer certainly could be a little better. Gypsy's color is the same as the previous DVD, but this new transfer is even sharper and better-looking. Sex and the Single Girl's color is fine but the transfer is a little dark. I think maybe all my bellyaching about Warners' color maybe paid off, because these are certainly better than the crap they've been doing, and Madding Crowd and Chips both looked fine.

I shall now be on my way to have dinner and a work session with David Wechter.

Wechter is late and here I sit. I've ordered some wings

re: chuck (no spoilers).
They wouldn't be handing out the glasses here. So i just used a pair i already had (the red/blue ones).
I don't think you need the glasses to watch the show. And unlike other 3D tv shows i didn't see them mentioning when to put them on and take them off (only at the beginning they said to put them on now).
But it was uncomfortable to watch with them on. It seemed like some things glowed in yellow (without the glasses). And that when chuck had his "visions" 0 that was in 3D. I'm only 1/2 way thru the episode. But so far nothing too interesting (for me) that was in 3D.

Sounds like Christian Bale (http://www.tmz.com/2009/02/02/bale-went-ballistic) has been taking Patti LuPone lessons.
-
What a great week: MEDIUM is back, THE CLOSER seems to be keeping its standard quality, LIFE ON MARS is back, and LIFE returnson Wednesday. I couldn't be happier. Well, selling the property in Ohio would be too much to ask for. Or learning that a house fell on Lady M!

...As well as David Mamet.

Well... I believe I'm going to head to the "Land Where the Wussburgers Go" a little earlier than usual tonight. I think I may be coming down with a cold. It feels like my allergies are acting up, but I'm pretty sure I'm not dealing with my allergies right now. And since I'll be heading to Memphis on Thursday for another long weekend of UPTAs (http://upta.org), well... I haz to stay healthy. So...
Goodnight.

Where's that little boy from Empire of the Sun now?

Feel better, Jose.

It happened to be one of the combinations of lenses I didn't have. I got something of the effect with the green-red glasses I had but not really the real thing. Disappointing. I think NBC dropped the ball with this. When MEDIUM did its 3-D episode, glasses were bound in TV GUIDE a week or two before the episode aired. I also saw them at the local convenience store. I saw NO displays for CHUCK glasses anywhere I shop.
-
ANyway, I had a full night of TV. I began by finishing the bonus features on the PRETTY WOMAN Blu-ray. I thought about bk when Garry Marshall was giving a tour around LA to see where some of the exteriors were shot. The tour was filmed in 2005 and there had been some changes since the movie was made in 1990, all of which he mentioned.
But that was the longest bonus feature at 9 minutes. It didn't take long at all for me to be finished with the disc.
-
Next, I watched last night's special edition of THE OFFICE. Some hysterical moments that had me howling. A beautiful Jim-Pam scene near the end. What a wonderful episode!
-
Next, I watched MEET THE SPARTANS which I had recorded off HBO-HD on Saturday night. Lousy movie parody of '300,' of course, but I will say it did have some gorgeous scantily clad men in it so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
-
The CHUCK episode was pretty fun as long as the story focused on Chuck and his adventures. The Buy More B-story was much less interesting.
-
With three shows I watch all coming on at 9, I didn't know which to watch and which to record. I drew cards from a deck and assigned one to each show. '24' won so that's what I watched. Riveting from beginning to end.
I recorded THE CLOSER and HEROES. I'll watch THE CLOSER tomorrow as I eat lunch.
-
I ended my evening with MEDIUM. I didn't find it one of the more compelling cases. The Bridgette story was certainly attention-getting. Overall, only a "medium" season premiere for MEDIUM.
-
And I took the shrink wrap off my work project for tomorrow: the next Criterion disc, another Buńuel film: SIMON OF THE DESERT.
-
Back from a very fun working dinner. I had wings, and a barbecue chicken sandwich. And now I think I deserve to sit on the couch like so much fish to watch a motion picture on DVD.
-
Guess I'm going to head downstairs now and go to bed.
Good night!
-
Still?? If I can't find any local, could you send me a pair? I'm recording the episode and can save it for a while. :D
Of course - and I know they are the correct ones because they showed a picture of them (with the Intel logo) on the show .

I saw NO displays for CHUCK glasses anywhere I shop.
The free glasses were hyped as "A MONSTROUS 3D EVENT" - the ad for Dreamworks Monster vs Aliens movie shown at the end of the first half of the Superbowl - there were four pair to a card with a large Intel logo. The left eye is a light Amber (or really faded red) and the right is a bright royal blue.

We had some of those yesterday for the game. I didn't see much that was interesting -- except everyone else looked really funny wearing them.
-
Finished with my viewing and am now listening to the new FSM release of Rozsa's Time After Time - a wonderful score.
-
Tonight I watched "Chuck" (without the glasses...and it wasn't too distracting) and "Heroes." "Medium" is just about over. I recorded "Kyle XY," which I'll watch later.

I gotta tell you.

Listening to a Freddy Hubbard CD import from Japan - one of his Columbia albums with orchestrations by Claus Ogerman.

I recorded "Kyle XY," which I'll watch later.
Enjoy it while you can:

On the downside: 'Kyle XY' has been cancelled after three seasons, meaning we'll probably never get to see him grow a belly button.
