Well, you've read the notes, the notes knew who they were, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're still trying to figure out who they are.
-
And the word of the day is: PSEUDANDRY!
-
Wow, early/late notes.
-
We had a huge turnout for Daniel, despite the stupid friggin Oregonian.
-
About twenty minutes ago some noise started happening - like an air conditioner noise, only I don't have the heat or the air on. It's really loud. I called the desk guy and he came and heard it - he doesn't have a clew. He tried to tell me it was the fan noise from the building's air conditioner, which you can hear in the hallway. It's not that at all - I told him I've been here since Wednesday and this is the first time I've heard the noise. He offered to change my room but, you know, it's two in the bloody morning. However, if I can't sleep I will have to change because it's really annoying me.
-
When I was a child watching TV and listening to cast recordings, would I have imagined such an evening when i'd be supping with Bruce Kimmel and very casually toddling over and shaking hands with Pat Suzuki?
-
Good morning and Happy Mother's Day.
-
Not quite sure what a reading entails, but if its a choice of cancelling the theatre or using male actors, why not just use male actors in the female roles? If Hinge and Brackett can do it, so can Californian actors.
-
Really irritated right about now. As I mentioned, some loud noise happened in my room. I tried to deal with it, but after twenty minutes in bed and unable to stand it and knowing I would get no sleep, I had them move me to another room. That meant I had to pack up everything and what a pain in the ASS that was - I'm now on the seventh floor and am trying to heat up what was a freezing room. Once that happens I'll go to bed and I'll try to sleep as late as possible - plus I had an irritating phone call with someone in LA and I'm none too happy about that right now.

First of all, here are some left-overs from yesterday:
Congrats to DR Ginny's DH Richard!! ;D

Yesterday's Topic of the Day: I'm absolutely certain that I saw each one on TV at some point...or at least part of each, but on TV, not in a movie theater.
-
Well, yesterday I was out and about all day. I went to work for a few hours and then drove up to Seattle to visit my ex-boyfriend. I visited him at his new place (he moved into a larger condo in the same building that he was living at for the last several years) and we just sat and talked and reminisced. He's seeing someone...and has been for a few years. They just got back from vacation in San Francisco. And then I came home and have now been up for far too long. So...
Good night, all.
-
Good Evening! Good Morning!
And as I watch the sun finish setting through the hotel room windows... Wow!
-
bk - I keep missing Pat Suzuki each time Walter Willison sets up a meeting for us. I'm glad you got to meet her - and it's also good to know that Walter is alive and well and supping at Joe Allen.
-
Oh... My Mom just walked in... Apparently, we're heading over to someone's house for dinner...
Laters...
-
So... We drove to someone's house, sat down for a few minutes, and then got back in the cars and drove to where we're actually having dinner: The Desney Grill. "Desney"... Hmmm... *I just posted a pic on my Facebook page. ;)
-
-But at least they have WiFi here. Really slow WiFI. ;)

DR Elmore that is terrible about Charlotte's purse. I wouldn't leave my purse on the ground. But I could see leaving a bag under the chair. And that could easily have had those same items. Was no id taken? To me that is the worst part of it. So at least it sounds like that did not happen. It could have been worse. But luckily you are both okay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
BK, sorry about the show. That must have been so frustrating. Sorry about the room. :(

So...
There were 12 people in our party. They ordered enough food to feed 30, if not 40 people. There were even platters of food that were placed on a "waiting table" that never made it to the main table. I started laughing when the bags of leftover were placed on the counter - there was just soooooo much food. Alas, most of it was over-cooked, over-salted and/or just plain "over". Thankfully(?), I was still full from lunch, so, I didn't feel the need to eat that much. But...
The feast was planned by some friends of my father's family, and, all in all, it was a nice send-off for his last night in his hometown. -And some people did enjoy the food - including my father. :)
-
DR Michael S - Maybe it's my food coma and the late-feeling hour (I've been up for almost 18 hours today), but... What makes those movies, book and moment, the ones for "the day"?
-
And since we're flying back to Manila in the morning... And since it's about an hour's drive to the airport... And since I'm already sleepy...
Goodnight.
-
Good morning!
Finally some cooler temperatures. Looks like the next five days are going to be a lot moremoderate than this mini-heat wave we've had this weekend. Thank goodness!
-
And a Happy Mother's Day to all the moms at HHW!
-
Page Two Dance!!!
-
To take advantage of this cooler weather, I was up early this morning mowing a side strip of grass that seems to grow much faster than the rest of my yard. Glad to have that out of the way.

DR Michael S - Maybe it's my food coma and the late-feeling hour (I've been up for almost 18 hours today), but... What makes those movies, book and moment, the ones for "the day"?
As in DR Arnold Brockman's wonderful song of the day
It is related to the word of the day.
This one was a little harder than most.
I like to do this on Sundays since it is a free for all.
-
After having the day off yesterday, I'll be in the thick of work all day today.
I'll be watching THE INSECT WOMAN this afternoon. It's two hours long.
Tonight I'll get to INTIMATIONS OF MURDER which is 2 1/2 hours long.
A lot of serious movie watching with these two Japanese films today.
-
Been trying to catch up in the notes, and Saturday's notes seem to have been deleted or are missing from the archives!!!!

Good morning, all! I have three loads of laundry in the dryers down the street and I will soon vacuum the floors and run back down to the laundromat.
My goal today and tomorrow is to finish, hopefully, the last of the BABES rewrites, do my invocie for the past two weeks, and get back to Mr Loesser. I have a few emails to send today as well.
BK, it would be lovely to see you but your dance card's been filled out rather heavily. Friday was out, you seemed to be occupied quite well yesterday, and my day is quite hopping today.
I want to know why it's so cool and beautiful outside and too damned warm inside the apartment.
Back to the laundromat.
-
Happy Mother's Day - to those to whom it applies!
-
Well, I'll be at John's Pizza at five so if you're around stop by.
-
Once I fell asleep I slept pretty well save for some weird dreams.
-
Oh, and I'm up.
-
Today - for the first time since April 13 - I do not HAVE to do anything! And I am happy about it.
So sad to read the notes about BOTH shows MR BK saw yesterday. NO show is director proof - or should I say misguided and/or idiot director proof (speaking here about WSS of course) :P
-
Re the show - I'm sure the audience had a fine time and I'm equally sure the singer is blissfully unaware there were any problems - so, it was really only frustrating for me, and that's fine.
-
I mentioned to my friend Keith Dunn about John's Pizza at 5 pm. - but have not seen a response on his Facebook, MR BK.
-
I think I shan't do the treadmill today, but I've said that before.
-
Enjoyed seeing the picture of Ms Pat Suzuki and her friends. YEARS AND YEARS ago we had an LP of Ms Pat Suzuki.....I think it was RCA Victor....anyway....she sang some lovely songs, and of course wore her famous ponytail in the cover photo. It was a nice STEREO album, that I played many times.
-
Here it is.....I just bid on it, even though I think this one is MONO.

-
It's weird to have nothing to do until five.
-
Well, I'll be at John's Pizza at five so if you're around stop by.
I think I will indeed try to do that!
-
Maybe I'll walk down to the Strand and look at books. I'm presuming the Strand is still there.
-
bk - Forget the part of my email about the time for dinner. Five o'clock is fine.
-
Happy mother's day to all HHW mothers, and mothers of HHWers!

FJL, then ignore my response :)
-
What response?
-
I am now going to continue doing nothing.
-
I'm going to head downstairs to get my laundry ready for washing this afternoon and then start thinking about what's for lunch.
WBBL.
-
Happy Mommy Day to all who celebrate!
-
Yes, the Strand is still here on 12th Street.
BK may be there as I type since it's now 11:30 and he mentioned the Strand at 10:46.
-
We have a broken cabinet drawer to fix (Home Depot) and we need to get some new dishwashing sponges (since we don't have a dishwasher in the house).
We shall have pork chops for dinner.
-
I know who I am
-
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
-
And on that note I will go to the shower and partake of my morning ablutions.
-
Good morning! I, too, am up, but very tired. Today is matinee day.

Hello, everyone.
Thanks to everyone for those vibes. I do appreciate them.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOM'S OUT THERE
-
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED that POX ON JEANNE'S ILLNESS that DAW posted last night. That's me, all right.
Thank you, David.
-
So sorry about Charlotte's purse. What an awful experience!
-
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to those who celebrate it--and also to those who do not.
-
Has anyone else heard Stephanie J. Block's new cd?
-
I went and did the treadmill. It was actually easier today than it's been, so that was nice. I guess I'll shave and shower and see how I feel after that.
-
DR Jeanne I hope you are feeling better & not going batty with the itching.
-
I just received very happy news. Our friend will have her new born baby (who had a temporary stay in ICU) home with her today. It is sad enough to go home & leave the baby behind, worse on her first Mother's Day. Happily this will now be the extra special Mother's Day it should be.
-
I had the chicken pox when I was thirty - no fun at all.
-
Leave The Baby Behind is the title of my new musical.
-
DR MATTH - thanks for the MONTY report.
-
Tonight IS the season finale of THE AMAZING RACE.
-
We are also enjoying beautiful weather.

Why don't we all post a picture of our mother?
I.E.
My MOM and DAD on their wedding day - September 25, 1948

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR SAMANTHA!!!!
-
She's 21 today!
-
Yes, a real haineshisway.com birthday cheer to Samantha!
-
Why don't we all post a picture of our mother?
It helps if one has a picture of one's mother that is postable.
I, alas and alack, do not.
-
A Very Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers (and Mothers-by-Proxy)!!!
;D
-
And a Very Happy 21st Birthday to DR Samantha!! :D
-
My mother was of the pre-digital era. She would probably think that being digitized was a reference to something rude. ::)
-
I guess I'll mosey up towards Times Square - I'll stop in shops and take the day, but I'm bored of sitting in the hotel room.
-
Happy Birthday, Samantha.
-
Workies. Calloo, callay.

Very good news, Jane!!
-
Time for me to head out. I have to take a shower, go to my sister's to help her with something, then we'll go to our parents' house to celebrate Mother's Day. After that, I need to be at rehearsal by 4:00 pm. Then the rest of my evening is mine. :)
-
Happy birthday, Samantha
-
Lovely news, jane
-
Great news, Jane
-
Happy Birthday DR SAMANTHA.
-
DR JMK - my guess is that many people in the audience were there to see the novelty of a performer with NEA Grants out the ying yang.
-
this was pre-race. She sang the national anthem. Let's just say that she got most of the intervals right within each phrase, but each phrase was in a different key from the one before and after it. It was interesting
-
HAPPY NATAL DAY DR SAMANTHA!
-
Post race....still smiling. At the start I realized I was with the runners and not the walkers, so I ran until we were past the TV cameras and then walked most of the rest of the way. It took me about 45 minutes to do the 3.1 miles. I was happy with that.
-
I think that's a good idea about scanning pictures of our mothers. I'll root around here in a bit to find one to scan and put up.
-
It has a beautiful day today, and the cool weather took its toll on me. I ended up having a nap in the middle of the afternoon. I don't like to interrupt films once I've started them, but I couldn't keep my eyes open.
-
I began my afternoon watching Friday night's FLASHPOINT. The show always gets to me. This one featured a couple I took an instant dislike to, and by the end, I was sobbing and completely in sync with them and their problems.
-
I also watched this week's episode of THE OFFICE. Some good laughs in the "disco coffee house" episode.
-
Then I watched my work disc for the day - Imamura's THE INSECT WOMAN. Tracing the life of a Japanese woman from her birth in 1918 in the various ups and downs of her life through 1959, it had its interesting moments, but I found it hard to get immersed in this woman's life, quite frankly. From siring a daughter with her father through stints as a maid (whereby her carelessness causing the death of the family's child by being scaulded to death), a prostitute, a powerful madam and finally to prison and once out seeing the cycle repeat through that illegitimate daughter of hers, I was not a feel good movie, and it was much too long for the story it was telling.
Overall, a disappointment.
-
Next, I watched Tony Rayns' critique of the film (about 13 minutes) which was a lot more positive than I was about the movie.
-
There is a twenty minute interview with the director on the disc, but my nap kept me from having time to get that watched today. I'll watch it when I go back down.
Then I'll decide if I have time to watch INTENTIONS OF MURDER tonight or save it for tomorrow.
-
Mother's Day greetings! Richard and I are home from our whirlwind 48 hours of festivities in greater Cincinnati. We bid farewell to our friends at St. Paul's and next week will be at Church of the Holy Nativity in Lima.
Richard is napping until it's time to go out to my mom's for steak dinner with her and my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. Sure glad they're cooking tonight!

Here's one of my favorite pictures - Richard and me with both mothers and all our siblings, Thanksgiving 2005 (or '06?):

Off to meet BK!

I couldn't find right offhand the picture I wanted to share of my mother, but I dug this one out of old birthday photographs. It's my first birthday with my brother and my mother alongside.
Naturally, I have no memory of this at all.
-
Now I must hop off-line and do a little writing.
WBBL.

Happy Birthday to Samantha!

Today there is a lot on tv for me.
Finales of TAR, CELEB APPRENTICE, BROTHERS& SISTERS. Plus DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES!
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And about to head to the Legazpi Airport to fly back to Manila. I've had an amazing time in Bicol with the family and friends of my Father, and now it's back to Manila to spend time with my Mother's family.
-
Hmmm... John's Pizza on a Sunday afternoon after tv matinees... Hmmm... Hope everyone is on time. ;)
-
Lovely photos from DR GINNY and DR MATTH - thanks for sharing.
-
Yes right now John's Pizza in NYC is the place to be....the rest of us are not where it's at....not even the Blast Off girls.

Happy Day to Mothers and Others! Healthy vibes and good thoughts to all!
I had a flat tire on the way to church; so since I was missing church, I said a prayer in the parking lot of the bank while waiting for the Triple A guy.

Happy birthday to Samantha
-
Love all the mom pics. It's a really nice thing to do today.
-
See ya tomarrow. Happy Monday.
-
Well aside from the public at large, a whole coterie of Daniel's students came in from up and down the west coast to see their mentor, and that was very nice. And there was another whole coterie of Dell'Arte people who had never been able to see Daniel live, and they also came in from up and down the west coast. So NEA ying-yangage had relatively little to do with it.
I did fume publically about the Oregonian and a theater director came up to me afterward and tell me she didn't even get a calendar listing (which is all Daniel got) when she had John Guare come to town for a reading and seminar. That's Portland, folks.
-
Why don't we all post a picture of our mother?

I had the chicken pox when I was thirty - no fun at all.
And because of this you had to step down from a tele film with your pal Michael Burns. Name escapes me at the moment
-
DR JMK I'm glad the event went well in spite of the Oregonian.
-
I'm back from John's Pizzeria; DR FJL and BK are off to NEXT TO NORMAL and Walter Willison is off to wherever he's heading. Our BK looked sleek and chic and I was feeling puny. Still am, but the pizza was really good.

Today is our first Mother's Day without Keith's mother so I will begin with her photo. I must say, she never looked this glamorous in person, just an old fashioned mother :)
-
When I was young I adored my mother & thought she was the most beautiful woman. I can't find a photo that captures my memory. There were a few, including the best one ever of my father, from their wedding. My sister lost the photos. :(
My mother holding my older brother.

DR CILLA LIZ congrats on the running/walking!
And thanks so much to everyone who is posting MOM pics! I love them!
-
Good TAR finale tonight, with a well deserved win.
-
Thanks JRand. Don't tell me about the winner of TAR...I'm watching Celebrity Apprentice and will watch TAR when it's over.
-
Don't worry - I don't post winners names.
-
And thanks so much to everyone who is posting MOM pics! I love them!
I do too. Maybe those who didn't post one today will do so tomorrow.
-
I missed the cast list at the beginning of the episode but I do believe Leo Norbert Butz is playing one of the key players on tonight's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.
-
Back from dinner at my Mom's, cooked by my sister and niece.

I miss having family close by.

I miss having family close by.
Well, right now I have LOTS. My sister and her husband are visiting from Michigan and staying with my Mom. My cousin and his wife are visiting from Georgia and staying with my aunt. My niece is visiting from Illinois and staying with us. Tomorrow we're all going to dinner at the Golden Lamb in Lebanon to celebrate my aunt's 80th birthday and Mother's Day.
-
Thanks for your post earlier, Jane.
-
Nice to see the photos. MattH, your mother was certainly an attractive woman. And doesn't your brother have a bit of a Mike Barnum look? Does anyone else see it or is it just me?
-
Cillaliz, I'm quite impressed with your weight loss. How nice for you!
-
Jane, is your poison ivy rash completely gone now?
-
The guest of honor arrives at the University Club:
Ginny, if I haven't said it before, please tell Richard how thrilled I am that he made this decision to serve God. I applaud him.

How was your closing show, DR TCB? Or is there another week?

Nice Sunday evening......

Hmm, seems to me that earlier this week you were somewhere in Italy, and tomorrow you are going to be in Lebanon. What a week!
-
How was your closing show, DR TCB? Or is there another week?
We have another two weeks. Thanks for asking, Jack, we had a very nice matinee today. A very responsive audience.

I was just reading the news story about finding the body of the professor who supposedly shot and killed his wife and two other people outside a community theater dinner two weeks ago. The article said that the professor was fired by the university immediately after the shooting. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

I am not trying to be a smart ass. I was serious about the question. It seems like people these days are fired immediately when they are accused of a crime. Didn't we used to wait until someone was actually convicted of the crime before destroying their professional life?

I miss having family close by.
Well, right now I have LOTS. My sister and her husband are visiting from Michigan and staying with my Mom. My cousin and his wife are visiting from Georgia and staying with my aunt. My niece is visiting from Illinois and staying with us. Tomorrow we're all going to dinner at the Golden Lamb in Lebanon to celebrate my aunt's 80th birthday and Mother's Day.
It sounds like loads of fun.

Back from a lovelier than lovely dinner with FJL and elmore (and Walter - great to see elmore) and Next To Normal. Must now do a lot of stuff in a short amount of time.

Jane, is your poison ivy rash completely gone now?
I think so. My right arm & a couple of other patches still feel raw & itchy, no where near as bad as before. I really feel for you.

I was kind of bummed this weekend. Not one single friend called me either Saturday or Sunday to ask how the opening went. Thank goodness I have my HHW family.

My brother Allen with his son Jeffrey and Jeffrey's wife.
Is Allen the UPS driver?

Wonderful photos DR MBarnum.

DR Laura, lovely photo of your mother.

G'night!

DR Laura, lovely photo of your mother.
Thanks. Yours, too.

I missed the cast list at the beginning of the episode but I do believe Leo Norbert Butz is playing one of the key players on tonight's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.
No, it was actually Norbert Leo Butz. ;)
Possible. I hate these three name performers. I preferred Robert Russell Bennett when he was Russell Bennett, and now Bill has become William David Brohn. Oy!

My nephew Brian (Allen's other son) and his wife Meridith.

She has your shiney face, Mikey!

Cillaliz, I'm quite impressed with your weight loss. How nice for you!
Thanks Jeanne. I'm not done yet, but it sure feels good to have energy again
-
Larry, I actually like the geshtalt behind that photo Walter took of you and me, and can't figure out how to post it, though. Are you able to do it?
-
Cillaliz, you are getting downright thin!
:D
