Well, you've read the notes, you know what a wise man once said, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - as a wise man once said - where in tarnation ARE those cows anyway?

Hi George.
I did not turn on the computer for 2 days. I just took time out from everything. And slept. Felt good.

I just watched the movie, "Milk." I bought the DVD shortly after it came out (no pun intended ;)) but I never watched it until now. And I don't know why.

With an hurricane headed to where I lived I decided to leave instead of staying and I flew to LA and ended up seeing BK's WHAT IF? I also went to Palm Springs. that was the most spontaneous thing

Happy birthday, Miss Karen.

When I've acted spontaneously, I usually regretted it afterward, so I always try to think things out first.
If a salesman says to me, "This offer is only good for today," I walk away.

Happy Birthday to DR MISS KAREN.

I am not a spontaneous type of person....but I shall try to think of something....hmmmmm

Thank you to DRs Laura, Jose, Vixmom, FJL, DAW, and Ben for the vibes I found for my BiL this morning.

I had never seen, only heard of, Lost Horizon (1973), so was very pleased when DR Michael S. mentioned yesterday that it can be viewed in its entirety on YouTube.
Here's the main page (http://www.youtube.com/user/LostHorizonMov) link.

Now, I have to get crackin'.
Much to do today.

Sad, but funny, but mostly sad:
A friend told me yesterday about something his teenage daughter said regarding Walter Cronkite:

Personally before the final fashion show i liked all 4 designers, although i liked anna
the least. I thought that daniella was obnoxious at times. But i liked many of her
designs. I thought reco was good and fast. And good at sewing. And while there
were a few of his designs i hated (red dress), i thought he was great. And i loved
loved james paul. To me he was the most talented, even though he did weird stuff
at times. Anna sort of grew on me. Did not care for her in the beginning. But she
did start doing some interesting stuff.
After watching the finale, my opinions sort of changed. I loved loved anna's collection.
My only complaint is that it was not cohesive. But there were so many of her pieces that
i would love to wear. I thought daniella's collection was just okay. I was sort of
disappointed. I would not want to wear many of her clothes. I was also a bit
disaapointed that reco spent so much time doing research. He could have done
better. As for James paul, i think he is brilliant. The most talented designer, with such
a vision. But i don't see women wearing most of those clothes.
So IMO anna had the best collection. And i see her winning, especially since it's
the public's vote. Unless the voters had pre-conceived favorites before the finale
and are voting for those (i have not seen who was most popular). But to me anna
is a people's designer. So i totally see the people loving her work. I am unclear
how people will see james paul. He's obviously talented and i could see the judges
giving him the $10K. But i don't really see the fans voting for him. He's great. But
his clothes are not accessible to regular people. I can see a lot of fans disliking
daniella. Will be interesting to see what happens.jkjl iuo oiu iuo oiu oiuoiuuoiiuoiuo u iooiu oiu oiu oiu oiu oiu oiu oiuoiuiuo one two oi oui oiu oiu oiu lkjlkjlkljlkjlkjl kjkljkj

Good morning!
Another cool morning that won't last long. Already feels a bit clammy outside.

Happy Birthday DR Miss Karen!!!

If a salesman says to me, "This offer is only good for today," I walk away.
Me, too! I always tell them that if the deal is only good for a day, then I can afford to live without it.

DR DtM - that cartoon was funny!

Vibes to Ginny's BiL, Woody, Vixmom, DerB, Larry, td, everybody!

THE FASHION SHOW:
James Paul's was by far my favorite collection. There were pieces that could be adapted to other wardrobe that a woman already has, and despite its lack of color, I just thought the designs and fabrics were stunning. Anna's all screamed retread to me; they were very attractive but were all modifications of things we had already seen. I wanted something new. Daniella's didn't fit well and just didn't appeal to me.
-
DR DtM - that cartoon was funny!
I thought so too!
-
Happy Birthday to DR Miss Karen!
-
No UPS delivery this morning, so I may be having another day off today. I have a couple of things I want to watch - some new, some revisits - but all can be put on hold if something to review comes.
-
Thank you, DR Kerry.
-
I'm up, and it looks like it's already a scorcher outside.
-
Right now it's not too bad here in NYC. Tomorrow we are supposed to have rain and sticky humid weather but for now we are spared. We have had a rather mild summer. I wonder what the fall will be like?
-
Happy Anniversary to the Moon!
-
I was in Chicago when they landed on the moon.....and it was very surreal watching it live on TV!
-
On TV TOnight!™
NBC - GREAT AMERICAN ROAD TRIP, THE WANTED (series premiere)
ABC - THE BACHELORETTE, DATING IN THE DARK (series premiere)
BBCA - TORCHWOOD recap, TORCHWOOD Series 3-Part 1
SHO - WEEDS, NURSE JACKIE
BRA - MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST
TNT - THE CLOSER, RAISING THE BAR
-
Thanks goodness foir DVRs. So much TV I want to see tonight and thankfully, many are repeated during the early morning hours.
I also have already watched this week's NURSE JACKIE, so that takes another possibly recprded show out of the mix.

I was at home (in reference to the Moon Landing) in Coon Rapids, MN, staying up late (although it was summer and I didn't have to go to school the next day) watching with rapt fascination. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions it is amazing the lengths to which people will go to deny that the Moon Landing really happened.

I'm heading down now to get cleaned up for lunch out with best friend John.

Richard was telling me this morning that he was in Germany in the Army and was the only one in his compound who got up in the middle of the night to watch the moon landing.

In other news...
I'm really not sure what to think about this:
Mo. Car Dealer Offers Free AK-47 With Truck (http://www.kmbc.com/news/20088205/detail.html)
And/or if you'd like to see the CNN interview with the car dealer: Click Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e60VhXBo1S8&feature=related).
In any case...
I was listening to BBC World Service this morning, and they interviewed the car dealer. At first I thought it was a joke, the car dealer just seemed a little too "on" to be real. However, throughout the course of the interview, I could tell that the car dealer was being very serious, and that the interviewer was caught off guard by his candor and fervor. -He seems a bit more subdued in the CNN video. Anyhoo... The final segment of today's program featured some of the listener responses to the story... It appeared that they had quite the response to the story.

So, what I'm getting is that most here have never done a spontaneous thing in their lives - have I got that right?
-
Back from the two-mile jog - it must be ninety-five degrees out there - one can only imagine where it will go from there, if it's that hot this early.
-
TOD - our recent trip to New York was pretty spontaneous, for us, anyway. We just got up one morning and decided to go 2 and a half weeks later. Usually, I'm planning trips at least 6 months in advance. We realized that, both being retired, there's no reason NOT to do that sort of thing more often. So, stay tuned, we may do something REALLY spontaneous one of these days!
-
Most of my stories involving spontaneity probably wouldn't be considered appropriate for a family site such as this one.
-
I watched the moon landing with my family including my grandparents. My grandfather was so proud and so astounded that the world should change so much in his lifetime. We went outside afterwards and looked up at the moon just to see.
-
Good morning, everyone.
Already HOT outside at 10 am--IN THE SHADE!
Yipes!

I remember watching the moon walk with my dad, mom, sister and a cousin who was staying over. We were eating ice cream after 10:00, which was unheard of in our household. I remember my dad saying something about the moon in our sky might not be visible depending on how much dust the astronauts kicked up while they walked around. My mom was worried that some kind of moon creature was going to attack the astronauts. My cousin fell asleep shortly after Armstrong set foot on the surface. And I was pouring over a schematic drawing of the LEM from the newspaper, trying to decipher what was going on from the fuzzy TV image. I don't think any of us actually heard Armstrong's historic words.
-
Good morning, everyone.
Already HOT outside at 10 am--IN THE SHADE!

Good one, Ben. No, not here, but maybe where BK is!

So, what I'm getting is that most here have never done a spontaneous thing in their lives - have I got that right?
One of the biggest spontaneous things (for me) was when I decided to fly to New York on my own and see "Elaine Stritch: At Liberty" while it was still on Broadway. I didn't want to take the chance o f not seeing her while I had the chnce. It was one of the best times of my life.
-
Marvelous day for a page 3 moondance
Oooooh, a Van Morrison reference -- perfect for my BD!
-
TOD:
I can recall an incident from college where a guy I was dating wanted to fly to Palm Springs RIGHT NOW! (He had his own plane.) It was close to midnight and...well, fortunately no harm was done.
These really aren't the stories we're most proud of, are they?
-
Well, I am not happy right now. A neighbor from up the street just knocked on my door and told me someone broke into my car. Odd. My car is sitting in front of my house, as always. I went jogging. I didn't notice anything untoward when I looked at it. So, I went outside and sure enough some unmitigated ASSHOLE smashed the driver's side window - and what did they steal? The car? No. The new radio? No. The checks and checkbook that I'd left in the glove compartment? No. The iPod in the glove compartment? No. They stole the $150 GPS unit, that's what they stole. I can only wish the ASSHOLES the worst possible diseases and karma for the rest of their sorry lives. I mean, what are they going to make on a $150 GPS unit? I'm trying to file a police report on the phone, and that's taking a very long time. Meanwhile, I called my insurance company and they gave me the number of glass repair company, and they're coming out between eleven and one. So, depending on when they get here and how long it takes, I may only be at part of our rehearsal today. We shall see. I am REALLY annoyed and I want the ASSHOLES who did this to suffer greatly, as they so deserve to do.
-
Most of my stories involving spontaneity probably wouldn't be considered appropriate for a family site such as this one.

So very sorry about your situation, bk. That really stinks. :(

Thanks for baking me that lovely cake, DR Naomi ... wonder if it tastes as good as it looks ... *sigh*

Gotta scoot!
Vibes that BK's day gets better PRONTO! And a nice day all around for DRs.

Bruce, I'm told that GPS units are very hot, very popular with thieves.
Yep, I know of two people who had the same exact kind of theft during the past six months.
Sorry to hear about that, BK. But from now on, keep everything out of site in your car. I try to hid everything--even the cassette adapter that I use to plug my iPod into.
-
Happy Day to Miss Karen.
Thank you, sweet Ben!

She knew it was safe to go with me; my leg was in a cast, and she had to push mein a wheelchair through the cobbled sidewalks of Las Vegas.
-
Happy birthday, Miss Karen.
Merci, DR Druxy!
-
I would never have imagined that a $150 item would be hot with thieves - especially to take the chance that a car alarm will go off (mine apparently didn't - why, I'll have to find out) - how can it be worth it? And they could have gotten an iPod, a radio, checks - the police think it was kids - big influx of this stuff in NoHo and here, apparently, so maybe they'll start patrolling.
-
TOD - either getting married to someone I only knew for 4 days or going for an oil change and buying a car or.... well I do lots of "big" spontaneous things and only regret a few of them
-
The only amusing thing is that none of the construction crews vehicles are parked anywhere near my house - first time for that. Usually they take every parking space. I little broken window and glass everywhere changes that, I guess.
-
Boy, that took twenty seconds to post - weird.
-
Bruce-- tell us about the spontaneous things you've done.

Happy Birthday to DR MISS KAREN.
Thanks, and what is Uranus up to this July 20, 2009?
Any interesting planetary influences for my BD?

And I could not forget to thank our Grand Pooh-Pah for his festive BD wishes -- I thank you!

Sorry about the car break-in, BK. We had the same thing happen on Good Friday. They got our GPS, a flight radio, and my DH's flight log.

Pain Free Vibes for Dear Lar!
-
I don't know whether I'll replace the GPS or not - it was quite handy and I quite liked it, but I don't know if I'm up for disconnecting it every time I leave the car, and I certainly don't need any more smashed windows. Window is fixed and looking good, so I'll go do some errands and then be on time for work session.
-
I would never have imagined that a $150 item would be hot with thieves - especially to take the chance that a car alarm will go off (mine apparently didn't - why, I'll have to find out) - how can it be worth it? And they could have gotten an iPod, a radio, checks - the police think it was kids - big influx of this stuff in NoHo and here, apparently, so maybe they'll start patrolling.
That's terrible about your car, BK. I'd heard that it's not that GPS devices are worth so much that they're stolen so often, but that they can be sold quickly without much asking of questions. :-\

Most of my stories involving spontaneity probably wouldn't be considered appropriate for a family site such as this one.

TOD:
Much of my shopping is very spontaneous. I see, I like, I buy.
My garage is full of spontaneous purchases.
-
Back around 1991 I took a very spontaneous trip to Canada with my buddies Ron and Pat. The called to tell me they were going and would I like to go. I said yes, and off we went (I was already on vacation).
-
BK - sorry about today's misfortune. Glad the broken window has been fixed so quickly.
-
Happy Birthday to you, Missy K! I'm glad I'm here to observe your special day. Have fun!
-
TOD - either getting married to someone I only knew for 4 days ...
Cillaliz wins!!!!!!
Yes, so far this gets the prize!
-
Sorry to hear about your car, bk. That sucks. I wonder if the creeps who stole your GPS are thinking "This is the most spontaneous thing I've ever done!"
I've only had 2 car break-ins, but both were in LA while I was working on films, and both on Melrose. The first time all they got was an overcoat. The second time, tapes and EDLs, my briefcase with camera and plane ticket, etc. Since the tapes contained (tasteful) nudity, the producers were quite concerned that they might end up someplace weird and were worried about getting sued. Not a fun day. Argh...

Happy Birthday, Miss Karen!
-
Very sorry to read about the theft, bk. I despise thieves.
-
Having only done one spontaneous thing that I could think of (that had to do with a gay bar), I thought better about posting it.
-
I finally have some review items which will allow me to resume a work schedule. Of course, the UPS delivery didn't arrive until near 3 p.m. so it was too late to do anything about it this afternoon. I'll review one of the three items tonight.
They were THE WATERBOY (which I'll do tonight), the WITCH MOUNTAIN movie with Dwayne Johnson, and SLING BLADE.
Yep, these were all Disney items. Still no TOWERING INFERNO.
-
I began my afternoon viewing with last night's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. I enjoyed the "trap a poker player with his own tells" storyline. Great fun.
-
Then I watched the Phillip scenes in today's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Not much advance on the plot, but I understand Y&R does not fly through storylines like AS THE WORLD TURNS does.
-
I skimmed through today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Nothing of interest.
-
Page Six Dance!!!
-
Then I watched that TCM documentary on the films of 1939. Quite good but there were so many great films that the two Fox/Sherlock Holmes movies (HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES/ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES) weren't even mentioned (among many others not touched on).
-
And I ended my afternoon viewing speeding through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing in it today for me though tomorrow appears to be more interesting.
-
Not much happening on the internet this afternoon, so let me tidy up a few things here, and then I'll head down to start on tonight's work project THE WATERBOY.
There don't appear to be any bonus features, and the movie is less than 90 minutes, so it should be a pretty easy job tonight.
-
Spoo!
WBBL.
-
Good Afternoon!
Well, it seems that my Lazy Sunday has led to a Lazy Monday. -No spontaneity goin' on here right now.
-
bk - Sorry to read about your car GPS woes. But I also have to ask: Why do you keep your checkbook in your car? And most GPS units have a "click-mount" - it should only a second or two to your car-entering and exiting routine. That extra second is worth any future hassle. In any case...
It's good to see that you're OK, that you were not a "part" of the robbery. That's what really counts.
-
I would never have imagined that a $150 item would be hot with thieves - especially to take the chance that a car alarm will go off (mine apparently didn't - why, I'll have to find out) - how can it be worth it? And they could have gotten an iPod, a radio, checks - the police think it was kids - big influx of this stuff in NoHo and here, apparently, so maybe they'll start patrolling.
It sounds like a classic "smash and grab". They were probably walking by the car, saw the GPS mount, and did their thing. If they had dug around for your iPod and checks, that would have taken more time - which would have provided more time for them to get caught.
-
Happy Birthday to Miss Karen.
Thanks, DR Jennifer. Are you still watching SYTYCD? My favs are still in the running!
Yes i am. Who are your favorites?
Mine are melissa and ade. I also like kayla. Jason sometimes. The ones i liked least went home this past week.I find brandon is getting on my nerves. Jeanine is growing on me. I think evan is the worst and don't understand why he is never in the bottom. Janette is okay.
-
Sorry to hear about the theft BK. Crazy that they would do it during the day when you are often home (and others are home). And with the construction workers right next door. Glad you got the window replaced so fast.
-
As for the Topic of the Day...
Well, my trip to Chicago a couple of weeks ago was more or less spontaneous. And since I had made no advance plans for that visit...
When I was in college, I do remember just deciding to head up to DC or NYC for the weekend just because I could. And I did.
Otherwise, whenever I do my "wander, wander, wander" thing, it's more or less a series of small spontaneous things one after the other.
-
TOD: Probably when I left for Maine with two days' notice last November and was gone for three weeks.
-
I'm with Minerva.
-
JRand and BK,
Especially for you two, a trailer from a 1967 Bollywood flying saucer movie....it is awesome!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY --- HAPPY BIRTHDAY --- HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DR MISS KAREN!
-
No, the smash and grab happened before daylight. Also, I don't usually keep checks in the car, I'd just forgotten they were there. And yes, if I should get another GPS, in and out of the car it will go. I hate that people can just mess with people's lives like this and I've been bummed about it for hours, simply because they will never get caught - they will, however, despite what they may think now, have karma pay them a visit, and if I can add my endless bad wishes for them to suffer from bad things, then I shall. It made today's work session very iffy for me, I just wasn't with it or in the mood. Still, listening to Miss Purl and Mr. Spirtas sing was lovely and made me feel better. And remember the other day when we were talking about friends who come by and take care of you in one way or another - I could have used such a friend tonight, but there are none to be found. I have wonderful friends, and I cherish them, but I've never known them to just pick up and come over if needed - just not an LA thing, I guess. I do it, if I'm summoned or needed, but that's just me. Kevin might come over after they finish (I left early) and have some dinner so we can hash through the show, because it isn't feeling like much of anything to me right now and I need to hear my notes from our first work sessions - and he's got all those.
-
I was supposed to go to the police station to sign my report but forgot, so I'll do it tomorrow morning.
-
And that's my news.
-
And now I shall eat two cupcakes and hopefully that will cheer me up.
-
My boss is out (she's been out since last week) but that doesn't mean the work stops. I still have a full plate.
Well, you are out, too, so what difference does it make?
-
Happy Birthday, Karen.
-
Aww, BK, I'd come over if I lived in LA. We could go get some pancakes.
-
I was at home (in reference to the Moon Landing) in Coon Rapids, MN, staying up late (although it was summer and I didn't have to go to school the next day) watching with rapt fascination. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions it is amazing the lengths to which people will go to deny that the Moon Landing really happened.
I believe I was in the hospital waiting room with my father waiting for my brother, Don, to be born. He was a preemie. So, starting tomorrow, July 21, Don and I will both be "40" for about a month.
And what do you remember most about the day, Jose?
-
BK, I've been with my DH for 30 years. The day his car was broken into was the only time I have EVER heard him say a bad word. It's very very upsetting to have your space invaded like that.

And it appears that The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/content/index) has been sold to the Chinese.

I have never heard of The Onion.

The Dramatists Guild of America announced Tom Kitt as the recipient of this year’s Frederick Loewe Award for Dramatic Composition for his score for Next to Normal.
-
Thanx one and all for the get-well wishes for Woody; he seems to be on the mend - his fever is bouncing between 99.8 and 100.6 which is about normal for a 72 hour flu and he has a little appetite.

Note to Jose - I did do him some scrambled eggs and toast and brought home a large container of Giant's fresh made Tomato Bisque which sat well.
-
A happy day to the ever-aging (albeit nicely) Karen.

And, yes, BK, I have a spontaneous moment story:
TOD
While I was attending Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. my MIL was visiting to help my wife with our brand new son. I decided we should take a short Friday afternoon trip to show MIL the Pinnacles National Monument. En route I noticed a sign mentioning Yosemite and I asked my MIL if she liked Yosemite. She replied that she’d never been there. Well, that would never do! “Shall we go for the weekend?”, I asked my wife. “Sure”, she replied. So at the next intersection we turned right and headed east toward Sierra Nevada Mountains. My MIL was aghast – “What are you doing? Nobody’s packed and we have three children in the car, one of which is only 10 days old. Well, we always traveled with complete changes of clothes for all of us (in case we came upon an irresistible beach or lake to explore). If you’ve packed for an afternoon for a nursing infant, you’ve packed for a week. ”But I don’t have my toothbrush!”, moaned MIL. “We’ll buy you one.” I replied. So off we went for a most thrilling weekend. And the Baby slept in a dresser drawer just like Moon Mullins in the comics.
After that, MIL never entered my car without a packed overnight bag.

I have never heard of The Onion.
DS Betsy graduated from UW Madison, where The Onion began, and she knows a lot of its founders/writers. Most consistently hilarious parodies out there. One of my favorite Onion headlines:
Tipper Gore Twitches Arythmically at Inaugual Ball

Much of my shopping is very spontaneous. I see, I like, I buy.
My garage is full of spontaneous purchases.
Give me two hours locked in a hotel room with Mikey, and I will think of something spontaneous to do!

Nothing like a carefree romp in the sand! :)

You could very easily photoshop them holding hands. Or maybe they photoshoped them to look like they were not holding hands!

Good Evening!
Tonight's DR elmore report: Still dealing with quite a bit of discomfort. Still waiting for a call from his doctor and the results of his x-rays. Still... Well, you get the picture. The same ole, same ole for better or worse.
He sends his best and VIBES to everyone.

-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS KAREN!!!! Thought I already said that, but just in case I didn't...

DR DerBrucer - Now that was spontaneous! And quite wonderful.

Actually, I kind of bought my little bungalow spontaneously. I found it on the internet, went tot he open house, called my realtor on the phone and said get over here I'm making an offer right now. By the end of the day I bought the house. I was looking for a condo at the time. It was the only house I looked at. I loved that place.
-
BK, Sorry about your car. I had my window broken out when I was doing genealogy research at the Mormon library in Mesa. I was parked right next to the Mormon temple at the time. Nothing was stolen (I didn't have anything to steal back then) But it scared me and was a real pain in the butt
-
I used to do a lot of spontaneious things, usually while I was drinking.
Funny thing, when I stopped drinking, my spontaneity stopped.
-
Back from a sandwich at Jerry's with Kevin. I told him I was not happy with the direction the show was going in, and he completely agreed with me. I then talked through the initial set up of the theme of the show - and it will work really well from there and everything sort of fell into place as I talked it out. It will now be much easier from here. It's funny - it's so easy to tell when I'm not thrilled with something - I just sit quietly and can't make decisions or give ideas - not until it feels right and I know we're on the right path. So, that's what I did today - nothing about what we were doing felt good, and that's why I left early - to figure it out, which I did whilst driving home in the car with the new window.
-
Laura, you're the kind of friend everyone needs. In LA, no matter how close my friends are in terms of being friends, no one will actually get in their car and come and take care of you - at least that's been my experience. They either don't want to drive or they're busy or something is always up. If someone needs me, I cancel what I'm doing (unless that's impossible) and I'm there. But that's me.
-
I just started plans for a fall trip this year. I'm going to drive my parents to Viroqua, WI to visit my Adam, Sundee and Gabe in their new town. I also want to go see Taliesin. It's less than an hour from there. I just got the idea to go today . Adam helped pick the weekend and mom and dad said yes immediately. It's a long drive, but I'm really looking forward to it.
-
Thanks, BK. I know that if I ever need anything, DR Kerry will come through for me. He'd better!

It's been raining here all day

We are back from visiting John. He's slightly more responsive today and his color is better. Still not conscious, though. His cardiac surgeon announced to the family, "Well, I fixed MY part."
-
Ginny, sounds like the cardiac surgeon is a bit rude. Glad to here there may be a little progress. Vibes that it continues
-
I had to go directly to DR Ginny's posts. It was nice to read there is a wee bit of improvement, may there be much more soon.
MEGA HEALING VIBES FOR JOHN!!!

DR DtM - that cartoon was funny!

Thank you, DRs Jane and Cillaliz.

Ginny, prayers are still with the family. I hope he takes GIANT steps toward recovery tonight.

There is a storm in central Arizona tonight. I hope it makes it here.

Thank you, DR Laura.

40 years ago today we were in our apartment on Canfield Drive, behind Hamilton High. I remember watching the landing & that Keith was more excited & in awe than I was. Neither of us remember having friends over so I think it was just the two of us.
-
Why are church pews so hard on the back? I was at the funeral of the gentleman who began my hiking group, just a small dent in all the good he did for this world.
-
G'night!
-
There is much controversy in my family about where each of us was when the moon landing happened. I was 8 years old but distinctly remember being at my Aunt and Uncle's lake home with my Aunt and Uncle, cousins and my Uncle's sister and brother-in-law. For some reason I don't remember the rest of my family being there. That wouldn't have been out of the question, there were times I stayed there without my immediate family.
On the other hand my parents insist we were at home. I'm not sure they both remember the same thing either.
So...who knows.
-
DR Jane - condolences on the loss of your friend.
-
I wish I had kept a diary when I was young it would be so much easier to remember today. ;)
'night
-
Thank you DR Ginny. It was a beautiful service which truly honored the man.
CONTINUED PRAYERS & VIBES FOR YOUR DBIL!

Happy to see that Bruno had one of the biggest and sharpest box-office drops in the history of movies - 73% - it's done. Maybe someone will learn how to make a real comedy again rather than having one disgusting joke and image after another. Enough is, apparently, enough.
-
I was at home (in reference to the Moon Landing) in Coon Rapids, MN, staying up late (although it was summer and I didn't have to go to school the next day) watching with rapt fascination. And what do you remember most about the day, Jose?
I guess not much. However, I still have a very distinct memory - well, more like an image - of waiting in a hospital lobby with my father a few years later when my youngest brother, Jay, was born.
-
Lots of wind, no rain yet. Just in case you are interested.
-
I have no memory of the moon landing 40 years ago. I was only three and I know we lived in Texas (where my dad was stationed in the army), but I don't really have any strong memories until we moved to Germany, about a year later.
-
And now, I'm going home to watch TORCHWOOD: CHIDLREN OF EARTH!! I set both my DVRs to record it, just in case one craps out on me.
Until later!
-
Happy Birthday to you, Missy K! I'm glad I'm here to observe your special day. Have fun!
It was a special day -- and I got the fun vibes, so thanks for sending 'em DR Edi!
-
Happy Birthday to Miss Karen.
All of the girls are soooo good this year -- and I agree that the right two left last week -- although I thought Evan was in possible trouble. Melissa and Janette, but Jeanine is growing on me, too, and Kayla is good, too -- tough decision with the girls .... now the guys, Ade and Bandon (there is something cocky about him, but I'm trying to go by JUST their dancing) are neck and neck, then Jason and then Evan ...
...but I'm open to seeing how they all do this week and willing to change my voting order if someone should happen to bring it on!
-
Thank you DR Ronnie P for my BD wishes!
-
Thanks, TCB, it was (still is -- a few hours still to go) happy, thanks!
-
Happy Birthday, Karen.
I appreciate the greetings, JMK!

....oh, yes! now i remember -- thanks!

Did you get any Birthday Rain, DR Miss Karen?
-
Well I just did something spontaneous...I had some frequent flyer miles that were expiring on United....so I cashed them in on a Kitchenaid Food processor! I can't wait to get it! It's the fancy 12 cup version. I've had the same number of miles for years and United just isn't convenient from here so I never seem to use them. What a deal
-
Thanks, Cilla!
-
You are most welcome Miss Karen
-
Did you get any Birthday Rain, DR Miss Karen?
A real light shower for a little while -- needed more, but as you know, here in AZ we'll take any rain that we can get. How about you? Looks like some storm clouds are headed your way...

DR Jane ~ Love it! How did you know what Deuce looks like?! Very, very close -- only thing are the ears, Deuce's are much smaller. But the face -- I've seen that look before -- especially the eyes. Perfect cake picture for my BD. Thanks!
-
Really, I do thank all of you here at HHW for all the great BD greetings -- I felt the vibes all day!
-
What a busy evening I've had. But I've been wanting some work projects, and now I have two more days' worth (not coutning today), and I am expecting some other things this week.
-
I began my evening watching THE WATERBOY on Blu-ray. It's a very limp comedy (though it was very popular in its day), and I was very disappointed in Kathy Bates' performance as the Cajun mother of Adam Sandler. She certainly just did it for the money; she barely seemed to be trying.
On the other hand, Henry Winkler was about the best I've ever seen him in the movies, and I liked Faruza Balk as the bad girl love interest, too.
-
Next I watched the penultimate episode of VERONICA MARS from the season one box set. Veronica was trying to find out all about the night she got drugged and raped and keeps getting conflicting stories from various people who saw her staggering around the party.
-
Then I watched TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF THE EARTH - Part 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of nice moments and some good surprises.
-
Hello all - after a mere 15 1/2 hour work day I thought I would wander inhere and say howdty before I go to bed
-
I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Jane.
-
MEGA HEALTH VIBES TO Ginny's BIL, John, to dear Elmore and for poor SWW

Jim: So, Minerva, are you coming to Crawdad Camp again this summer?
89-year-old Minerva: No, I have a family reunion that week.
Jim: I haven't even set a date for camp yet
89-year-old Minerva: I'm sure I'll have a family reunion whenever it is.
I knew I liked Minerva for some reason, Laura!!! :D
-
I am very sorry to hear about your breakin BK -
-
Well i have to be up in 6 hours so ...kisses!
-
We had enough rain to wet the sidewalk. It's already dry.
How about you, DR Kerry?
-
TOD: Probably when I left for Maine with two days' notice last November and was gone for three weeks.
Yeah, Laura, but there was a REALLY good reason for that. It was not just a whim. Besides, you're pretty spontaneous about things usually anyway (much more than I)-- as long as they're your idea!! ;D
-
Kerry, Minerva and my MIL were roommates for a time before they married their husbands.

Yes, a nice rain here, and it even rained again just a bit ago while I was taking Sugar out to experience all the new smells of the rainy night! HUZZAH!!!

I am frequently spontaneous, even when it isn't my idea. I couldn't tell you the number of times I have had to drop everything to come let the women in the church for Women's Fellowship or some other thing.

Kerry, Minerva and my MIL were roommates for a time before they married their husbands.
In this sentence, I was addressing Kerry, telling him about Minerva and my MIL being roommates. Not that Kerry was also a roommate with them.

I am frequently spontaneous, even when it isn't my idea. I couldn't tell you the number of times I have had to drop everything to come let the women in the church for Women's Fellowship or some other thing.
There's a difference between being responsible and being spontaneous. LOL!
-
So, I think I'll head downstairs and get some sleep.
Good night!
-
Thanks, BK. I know that if I ever need anything, DR Kerry will come through for me. He'd better!
You know it, Toots!
-
Well, BK, I tried to do something nice for you today by posting the LESLIE PARRISH photo.
Evidently it did not do the trick, as not a mention was made. Maybe she just doesn't do it for BK anymore.
-
Thanks, BK. I know that if I ever need anything, DR Kerry will come through for me. He'd better!
And I know you'd be there for me-- as time has proven again and again and again....

Goodnight.

Good night, Kerry. Don't trip.
-
I missed a Leslie Parrish photo? What page? I must be senile, but my mind was not functioning properly today.
-
And yes, I knew I would get comfort here, which is why I love this jernt so much.
-
Anybody watch the Alet video?
-
I'm starting disc four of Lost, which means I'm on to episode thirteen.
-
It's really funny, but the episodes I like least are all directed by Jack Bender. I hope that changes, but every episode directed by someone else I find much better, and a couple of the recent episodes have been crackerjack.
-
I've been watching the storm tonight. But I have watched Pink Fish a couple of times. It's great.
-
Hi everyone.
Sorry to turn on the internet so late tonight. I guess I missed a lot of drama.
I would have loved to stop over unannounced and bother bk, it would have annoyed him so much that he would have forgotten all about what was bothering him.
-
Lots and lots of healthy and happy vibes for everyone.
-
I tried to go back and read the last 3 days of posts.
I guess I missed everything.
-
Which is why one should never stay away.
-
It's been a weird night. I could have used a friendly shoulder, but sadly no one even called.
-
The topic of the day is spontaneity, is that right.
Last Friday night I threw a hissy fit about the smell of pot in my building, and now no one is talking to me.
You see I'm almost 60, most everyone else here is 20 or 30 something, but there are 5 children under 15 in the building, so I spoke up, loudly.
Maybe I should not have been so spontaneous. But I just thought what was happening was rude.
-
Tomorrow after work I have to go to the Auto Club and transfer the car to my name, and then go to the bank and transfer his account to my name. Hopefully both of those tasks will be done and over with.
I found a few old movies from the 1970's in my dad's stuff. I have to rent a movie projector to watch them.
Wonder if I'll remember how to thread the film.
-
I think one of them involves a naked lady on a swing.
-
Well I better get some sleep.
Happy, Happy, vibes for Tuesday for everyone.
Night.
-
Road runner was getting wonky for a while.
-
Goodnight, Sam

I'll be doing our advance announcement of the new Kritzerland CD right after the notes are posted.
-
I just tried to sleep, but, why is it still so hot at 11:30. I'm up again to open the front door and windows.
-
Maybe I stay up for the new release.
Maybe I'll annoy bk after my errands are done tomorrow. If I had time I would drive to Glendale and pick up a 6 pack of Ginger Beer and U-No bars.
-
Maybe I'll make nice and be friends with my neighbors in the building again.
-
Maybe I'll take off 50 lbs. Maybe I'll buy my kid a car. Maybe I'll wash the car by hand. Maybe I'll actually do all the things I say. Maybe I'll save money. Maybe I'll stop posting before I say something really stupid.
Forget it, I won't change.
Time to shut the door and windows and try to sleep in this heat.

Night bk.
Night George.
