Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both very and very, and now it is time for you to post until the very very cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUPPLICATE!
-
First post very very HUZZAH!
-
Pussy Foot.
This is my word of the day. I am going to use it in as many consultations as I can.....I have only seen it as a gerund or a verb, I am going to turn it into a noun.
-
Saturday. We have a dusting of snow.
You will be happy to learn that while DR JMK bought a house, I have purchased 33 feet of 7/8" Wrights black sequin trim to enhance my disco outfit. Pictures will be forthcoming at a future date.
-
Shoo show.....shoo show.
-
Soy sauce!!!!!!!!!!!
-
We have TWO episodes of COPS tonight....both repeats....but at least TWO episodes of COPS!
-
I will be spending Sunday afternoon watching Rhoda be drunk and spoil a looping session. I'm looking forward to it.
I will, therefore, miss Jose's trip to Chelsea.
-
Ah yes, DR BEN - we want a FULL report!
-
And now I am off to work.
Is tomorrow DR JOSE's bakery day?
-
Saturday morning greetings! We had more snow last night - enough!
-
And the word of the day is: SUPPLICATE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: MY PRAYER
-
Good morning!
A cold morning but not bitterly so, and so my walk felt good. Another beautiful day, and tomorrow and Monday it'sgoing to get to the 50s. Sadly, then rain and cold return for a bit. Bah! I'm ready for winter to leave us alone.
-
TOD:
I NEVER had pizza as a child or as a student through college. I think the first pizza I ever had was at a Pizza Hut which I went to on the way to someone's house for a weekend. I hadn't had anything to eat all day, and we (my partner and I) stopped there and split a large pepperoni pizza. We had it quite often after that. Steven was a wonderful cook, but he never once in our partnership made homemade pizza.
-
As for hamburgers, the first hamburger I can remember ever eating away from home was at McDonalds where they cost ten cents. It tasted like paper with ketchup on it to me. Really, I couldn't believe how beef could have no flavor at all without condiments.
-
I'm excited about finishing HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL today and having the evening free. Looking forward to watching one or two fun things. CUJO on Blu-ray is definitely on my list.
-
DR Jose,
Michelle and Yu-Na skated in different eras (Michelle skated in one world championship during the currently used points system and finished fourth), and the long programs of Michelle's era didn't require this strict standard of point-seeking jump combinations, lengthy footwork sequences, and transitions leading into and out of jumps. So it's almost apples and oranges in watching the content of their programs. As for skating ease and mastery, I don't know. For me Michelle is the gold standard, but I have seen so much more of her than Yu-Na, so my comparisons are probably not fair.
And I've only seen this Olympic gold performance once, so my judgment of her on a single look at her long program is DEFINITELY not fair. I've seen those medal-winning skates of Michelle's dozens of times.
-
Nothing on TV for me tonight, either with HBO-HD showing FAST AND FURIOUS, the fourth film of the series which I certainly have no interest in watching.
-
Last night, I watched a film I'd never seen before, MY WILD IRISH ROSE (1947) with Dennis Morgan.
It's the story of singer/songwriter Chauncey Olcott, who wrote the title song and also "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling".
If you're wondering why you can't find this title on DVD or it isn't broadcast very often, it's because the movie is "politically incorrect". About 25% of the film deals with minstrel shows.
But the songs are good, the story is okay and the color is gorgeous.
Now, if only Dennis Morgan could act....
Here's the trailer:

I'm heading down in a minute to get an early start on finishing HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL.
WBBL.
-
Good morning, all! I slept very late this morning and I feel fantastic. I'm taking another easy day today.
DR John G, 100 posts and posting photos! I knew you could do it.
DR Laura, you are such a heartbreaker! Poor Drunk Duane.
I think I'll make the bed and tidy up. I got into one of my paranoid bed bug states yesterday, and there's boric acid all over the floors to kill any suckers crawling around. I was sure I'd poisoned myself last night.
It's Saturday, so I doubt there can be much in the way of fresh hell arriving. I'm thinking I'll watch the 1970s version of EMMA from the BBC today. I've been playing the soundtrack from the latest 4-hour version by Stanley Sim, and the score, written for the most part as a theme and variations for a chamber orchestra, is a total delight.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And, apparently, the Earth is not happy this morning.

I will be spending Sunday afternoon watching Rhoda be drunk and spoil a looping session. I'm looking forward to it.

Well...
Since Maury will be featuring a different Feature Flavor every three hours tomorrow, well...
He's going to repeat a couple of the Flavors from the past month - including one of the ones I missed while I was in Memphis, "Espresso" - but he'll also be premiering a new Flavor in the afternoon.
And as a "Thank You" for my patronage and "commitment" over the past month, Maury is treating me all day. So... Free Breakfast. Free Lunch. Free Afternoon Snack. Free Dinner. :)
*And a Free T-Shirt too!
**And, no, I will not be having Hot Chocolate all day. But one never knows... Do one? ::)
-
Is tomorrow DR JOSE's bakery day?
DR JRand - Yes. See above post.
Hope all is going well at work today.

WELCOME TO PAGE TWO!!
-
I'm up and she of the Evil Eye is here. I have just responded to about five panic e-mails from the long musical team. None of them really understand musical theater (although two of them should) and how this process works. There is now talk of postponing the staged reading and I'm walking away if that happens. The book writer blames the composer/lyricist, they blame him, it's just so typical. I've told them all, sorry, we are cast and going ahead and that this is our FIRST reading and no one is expecting a perfect show - it's in development and the sole purpose of the reading is to raise some seed money to continue working and to get us to a workshop, where we will really have the time to do work which needs to be done in that process. If there are two or three weak songs, tough. I saw Wicked's first staged reading - terrible, and half the songs got changed. That's the process - the process is not continual postponing. For me, the biggest problem has been the composer's slowness in delivering material. He has way too much on his plate and come and is now going to be gone for ten days starting Tuesday. We've constantly asked him to work on the many times he's away, as he always has his days free - but he doesn't do it. This time he will. Period. If he doesn't come back with the two songs I definitely want fixed he will not want to know me. :)

I'm so happy I'm in LA :)
-
The fallout continues: I've lost another friend at the Library of Congress this morning. I hope this friendship can be repaired and I'm doing my damnedest, but it was a very terse and unpleasant phone call. I sent a very sincere, apologetic email, but I have no idea what wll be the outcome at this point.

I'm so happy I'm in LA :)
Is LA under any sort of Tsunami Watch for later this afternoon? I know they've issued "High Wave" warnings for Santa Monica. -Thankfully, the warnings right now are just for 2-foot high waves. Well, 2-feet above normal.

DR Ben will be attending a performance of LOOPED (http://loopedonbroadway.com) starring Valerie Harper.
And I shall be "attending" the Grand Finale of the City Bakery Hot Chocolate Festival (http://hotchocolatefestival.com).

I never noticed that Dennis Morgan was not a good actor, I was always too focused on what a hottie he was! And that is good enough for me! ;D

TOD:
I really have not clue, but most likely my first pizza was at Abbey's Pizza Parlor in Medford which was my dad's favorite place to go on Friday nights, after his baseball games.
Hamburgers...hmmm...had them at home and at other peoples homes quite often, I would guess, but first one out would maybe be McDonald's when it first arrived in Medford circa 1975.

Oh gosh, that earthquake in Chile does look fearsome. The last episode of The Amazing Race took place in Chile, and it is such a beautfiul country. Very sad,
And I see that most of the coastal towns in Oregon are under a Tsunami watch, as well as some in Washington and Long Beach in California.

As for the Topic of the Day....
Pizza - I'm guessing it was either Shakey's or Pizza Hut. Cheese and pepperoni. *And the Birthday Pizza at Shakey's - with the eyes and smile made out of Pepperoni slices.. and the nose made out of a marshmallow(?) since it held the candle.
Hamburgers - Most likely McDonald's. However, the ones I really remember from my childhood were the ones from Herfy's in Seattle in their Kid's Meal boxes. Good burgers, and they had a "coupon" on the box for a free soft-serve cone for dessert. :)
-
Jane, I am just catching up on yesterday's posts. Continued shoulder vibes to you!
-
DR Jane - Thank You. That is from my iPhone. I need to go through my "regular camera" photos and post some of those. I came across some really beautiful scenes yesterday.
-
DR TCB - Is Herfy's still in business?
-

The last time I paid attention, there were a couple of Herfy's still in business in the Seattle area.
Dick's Drive-In remains the definitive Seattle burger chain.

-
It is been eight years since I was there, but as I remember, Santiago is a very modern city. I remember people saying that the city was built to withstand some earthquakes.
The news analysis this morning has been saying the same thing. -Which is why the initial death toll is nowhere near what it was/is in Haiti. As one commentator "simply" put it: "Earthquakes don't kill people. Falling buildings kill people." Chile is used(?) to earthquake activity and their buildings and houses are built accordingly.
-
Thank you TCB.
This morning isn't going great either. I need to go to my exercises, a modified version at least & hope they make me feel better.
-
Jose, thanks for the explanation on the lack of news I'm seeing about Chili. Of course if the damage had been worse there would be plenty of news.
I'll have to check out the news for the coastal towns of Oregon. I didn't see that either. The town of Bandon has a warning sign on the pier that basically says if there is a tsunami, run fast.
-
The weather has been so Spring-like here in the Northwest; that not only are the daffodils and crocuses blooming, but practically overngiht all of the flowering cherry trees have bloomed.

DR Jane - Have a productive and encouraging exercise session this afternoon, OK? :)

And now...

bk, it astonishes me when you talk about your creative team and when I think of the composer in question. It seems the composer should know what it takes to get a show in shape as he has done one or two. Stick to your guns.
-
I have been out hiking this morning and am just now catching up on the news.
-
DR Jane - Have a productive and encouraging exercise session this afternoon, OK? :)
Thanks. I almost made it through my modified exercises before experiencing debilitating pain. I made it farther than Thursday night, though that round had not been modified.
-
And now...
Banana Peel Hot Chocolate!
Laters...
Yuck! ;D
-
Back from errands and whatnot - I decided no bacon and eggs and toast and instead had a bagel and fruit.
-
I've had a conversation with the co-author of the long musical and I'm going to finally get some things I've been asking for for six months - after last night, he saw that he needs to hear me loud and clear because everything that didn't land is stuff I've been asking to be changed. In fact, there will be some pretty radical things going on, including losing several characters from the show. Right now, the show tells two stories that are at cross purposes with each other. Those stories need to coalesce and feed off each other. Every time we go to the second story everyone goes to sleep and/or gets totally confused because - WE DON'T CARE about that story, at least in the way it's being told. This show is seen through the eyes of our young leading man - everything has to be filtered through him and it's not. I've been saying it for ages and while there have been major changes, that central issue has not been addressed. This time it will be and it will result in completely new scenes and sequences and some new songs.
-
Now Marie OSmond's 19 year old son has committed suicide. So very, very sad.
-
What is with this world? It's just unbelievable. What is with youngsters and depression? Where does this all come from? Yes, people have always had depression, but it's never been of such proportions before.
-
Jose, it's impossible to predict this weather here in LA - thus far today we have had a torrential downpour, we have had blue skies and heat, and now we have wind and rain, all within three hours.
-
I had the time to finish all five of the remaining episodes of HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL. There were no bonus features, so I am finished with the set. I will just have to put the finishing touches on the review and post it later.
-
The last group of episodes had only one real dog - Paladin is dispatched to find a runaway princess (yep, a storyline right out of ROMAN HOLIDAY). He finds her easily and they spend the half hour quoting Aristotle and Shakespeare to one another and falling in love. And, of course, she has to go back to her duties and he to his. Blah! Dull as dishwater.
-
Guest stars in this last batch include Denver Pyle (his second appearance in the show's 19 episodes of this season), Albert Salmi, James Best, Sydney Pollack (looking about 18 or 19 - wow!), and Kevin Hagen.
-
I watched BURN NOTICE while I ate lunch. This was the penultimate episode of the season, and one death was completely unexpected. Fiona's caper this week was entertaining.
-
We've had clouds all day, and the afternoon is supposed to bring very high winds and rain.
-
So I do have the entire evening free, so CUJO on Blu-ray will be part of the mix and, of course, I'm going to port those Olympic performances onto a DVD-R for the archives, too. If there is time left, I'll decide if I want to watch a film or pull out some episodes of a TV series to watch (maybe THE CLOSER or BURN NOTICE from last season).
-
Need to put the finishing touches on the review, and then I'll head down for a fun evening.
WBBL.
-
We're about to head out to a surprise birthday party.
See you later.
BTW, for those of you who listen, I'm on Showtime this week with a review of A Little Night Music. It's about 50 minutes into the show.
You should be getting your e-mail blast late tonight or sometime tomorrow before the 4pm (EST) broadcast.
-
It's been a very frustrating and unrewarding day. I apwnt a lot of it doing laundry, mopping the floors, and packing up more books for Miami University Library to keep myself busy and my mind off the blowup this morning. I have two more cartons I want to pack in this round of shipments.
So, I'm off to watch some DVDs.
-

i was mistaken, he was 18. I'm not sure if the proportions are greater, or simply the number of people committing suicide. It also used to be hushed up.
-
That is very sad about the earthquake, possible tsunamis, and marie osmond's son. :(

I finally got to watch some olympics with my niece. She gets so worked up. I loved it. Not sure if NBC has tape delayed this afternoon's sports. But there were some exciting moments for canada. And we both cheered and cheered.
And she really pays attention. Earlier today we were at a bookstore. And she was explaining last night's short track speedskating to me. I have no idea how she remembered everything so well. But she told me that "the canadian charles went spinning to the finish, the korean fell and went sliding, and apolo onho was there too). Very cute.
-
Although my niece was not too happy when we were making blueberry muffins and some clutz dropped a whole bag of sugar on her lap. It was actually pretty funny. But she started to cry when my sister almost started laughing. I wish i had a picture of it.
-
Tonight the figure skating exhibition is on at 7:30pm.
And right now canada is in the men's final for curling. And tomorrow should be very exciting. At 3:15pm (eastern) is the gold medal game for men's hockey: canada vs usa!
-
Let's see if i can move off down page 4 at least.
-
I am trying to find out who is going to be the flag bearer for canada for the Closing Ceremonies. Some want Joannie Rochette (figure skater whose mother died suddenly this week), some want alexandre bilodeau (who won the first gold). I personally would like charlies hamelin (who won 2 gold medals). Although i would also be very happy with joannie.
-
I can't open the only video's I have found of the women's free skate. I would like to watch some of what I missed. I read it would repeat on Friday night, after the fact, and checked to see what recorded. Once again it was the men's free skate. ???
-
Jennifer, you niece is really at the age when their absorption can be astonishing. :) I'm glad she didn't cry after the sugar spill-lol.
-

Good Evening!
Oh! I guess the Skating Exhibition is on tonight. Spoo! <RECORD>

i just did my evening exercises and did every single one :) i didn't work some of them as hard, rested longer in-between & rubbed my shoulder. i'm soooo relieved it worked.

Good, DR Jane.

I'm eating delicious leftovers from dinner last night. For the 1st time since October we went out to dinner and met a friend who is in town visiting her sister. She had her 10 month old baby girl with her. Keith & I took turns holding the baby, who didn't want to sit in the high chair after waking up from a nap, so her mother could eat. Lucky us.:)
-
DR Jennifer - Does your niece have a favorite sport? athlete?

Thanks Jose.

Good news, Jane.

DR Jennifer - Does your niece have a favorite sport? athlete?
Does Jose have a favorite sport? athlete?

Congratulations, Jane.

I watched the Lost episode from last Tuesday. Of all this season, I sort of liked it best, but I still find it irritating that they want me to care about a character that's never been in the show before and that character's relationship to the regular cast member. But I'm assured by the obnoxious voice-over at the end of the show that answers will be forthcoming next week. :)
-
Thank you Laura. The sun was shinning & I got to hike today too so I'm feeling much happier.
-
Congratulations, Jane.
Thanks :) How are you doing?
-
What was DR JOSE doing down on 21st St?
I took that pic while I was walking around Chelsea yesterday. After my Hot Chocolate Constitutional at City Bakery, I walked over to Chelsea Market for some shopping and take a little break in their new arcade area - they have tables, free WiFi and electrical outlets. As I was sitting there, I just kept watching the snow stop and start, stop and start. Then I walked down to the Apple Store on 14th. Stop and start, stop and start - and I happened to run into a friend of mine I hadn't seen in a couple of months. Then I tried to get on The Highline, but it was closed off. So I walked up 10th Avenue to 23rd - with a stop at 21st Street to take a picture or two.
Does that answer your question? ;)
-
For now. But don't leave town.
-
Saturday night is QUIET in these here parts.
-
DR Jennifer - Does your niece have a favorite sport? athlete?
Does Jose have a favorite sport? athlete?
Baseball - Since I was born in Boston, I'm a Red Sox fan - but, mainly a fairweather one at that. Otherwise, the one sport I loved playing while I was growing up was soccer.
As for favorite athlete... Hmmmm... There are too many "options" for "Favorite". ;)
-
Saturday night is QUIET in these here parts.
-Even I decided to stay in tonight. However, I did have quite a nice afternoon.
-
Very nice DR JOSE.
We had lots of customers between 5:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. I was just ready to leave early when the deluge broke.
-
I am sort of watching TOM JONES on TCM.......and will probably do a DVD or two directly.
-
Our afternoon storms didn't come, so now they are predicted for the middle of the night. So I guess I'll miss the excitement.
-
And now...
Banana Peel Hot Chocolate!
Laters...
Yuck! ;D
But it was soooo good. He - Maury Rubin - steeps banana peels in his milk and cream base. The "peel" actually adds a nice "bitter sharp" finish to the hot chocolate, it makes it seem not so sweet. I'd have to say it was my second favorite flavor of the Festival so far. -Especially when I used the Banana Peel Hot Chocolate as a "fondue" for my Bourbon-Soaked (Brioche) French Toast. YUM!
-And, yes, I know, DR Jane - Yuck! ;)
-
DR LAURA stay up and wait for the storms.

I suppose if I had to drink the hot chocolate in order to get some bourbon french toast I would ;)

i just did my evening exercises and did every single one :) i didn't work some of them as hard, rested longer in-between & rubbed my shoulder. i'm soooo relieved it worked.

:D Cilla
Now for an encore I will do the dishes.
-
jose, how old were you when you left boston?
Somewhere between 6-8 weeks(!) old. ;)
My godparents are still in Brookline. -And I'm hoping to visit them soon since I haven't seen them in almost 20 years! :-\
-
LOL, It isn't the thought of peel I reacted to, it is the banana flavoring with chocolate.
I suppose if I had to drink the hot chocolate in order to get some bourbon french toast I would ;)
You can just order the Bourbon French Toast with Coffee if you like. ;)

TOD: The first pizza place in my home town opened the same year I was born and my parents both liked it so I'm sure Woody's Pizza is the first pizza I had. Pizza was and still is very big in my home town. At one time we had either 4 or 5 pizza places for a town of about 9,000 people ....and they were all busy!
-
My first hamburger away from home was probably one of the diners that were around when I was growing up. I have no memory of it. I always remember hamburgers. I remember going to McDonalds when it first opened in Des Moines. We were there visiting relatives and it was a huge deal. I don't remember the hamburger just the excitement in the car as we drove there.

Vibes to all who need them. Congrats on the lack of bandages TCB

I've been busy today. It started when I decided I would use my stereo more if it was upstairs in my home office/den instead of the inconvenient place where I had it. So, that led to moving a book shelf from the den to the living room, then moving another book shelf to the spare bedroom, but it didn't look right, so I rearranged all the furniture in the spare bedroom, then I had to move all the books to the book shelves and set up the stereo. Whew! Then I did the laundry and cleaned the kitchen.

That is very young to be a fan ;)
I don't like coffee either ;) I'll take the regular style hot chocolate.

OUCH!!! I'm glad there were only a few dishes to wash.

Oh...
So...
When I got in line at City Bakery, I decided to just some "real food" first for lunch, and then get my Banana Peel Hot Chocolate later so that it would stay warm. So, I picked up a Grilled Ham & Cheese with Apricot Jam, and some stuff from their salad bar - Roasted Cauliflower, Cucumber-Celery Salad & Spinach-Pesto Pasta Salad. As I was nearing the register, Annie, the assistant manger, came up to me, "I've been told that anything that you would like today is on the house." What? Wow! :) So...
-
...After finishing my lunch, I went back down to get my Hot Chocolate and some dessert. By the way, Brendan joined me again on this trip to City Bakery, so I wasn't eating everything by myself. I ordered my Banana Peel Hot Chocolate with the Marshmallow on the side, a slice of the Bourbon French Toast and the Chocolate-Hazelnut Mini-Cake. Annie placed all the baked goods on the plate, then commented, "Look at all this empty room on here! Are you sure there isn't anything else you would like?" Well... I told her that I might get some cookies on the way out. So...
-
And now I am reading.
-
Thanks, Cilla!
G'night!

As we were leaving, I made sure to check in with Maury one last time to not only Thank him again for treating me to lunch today, but also to Thank him in advance for treating me to lunch (and breakfast and dinner) tomorrow. ;) He had mentioned that he was going to feature a new flavor tomorrow, and wanted to give a us a preview of it. So, while he was mixing up the magic in the back, Brendan and I waited by the registers.
Annie asked us, "Is there anything else you would like?" Well... We thought it would be nice to bring back a cookie for Brendan's roommates, so we asked for a cookie. "Just one? or two? How many roommates do you have?" Well... How about six? "That's fine." So... On the way back uptown, I dropped a cookie off for my friend, Jennifer, who's been locked in her office all weekend working on a project. Then Brendan and I dropped of two cookies to his two new downstairs neighbors, and then dropped of some cookies for Brendan's roommates. :)
*And the new flavor tasted quite nice.

I got the figure skating transferred over to DVD-R for the archives. It was nice to see the programs again. Still mystified with the markdowns for Rachael and the overscoring for Miki Ando (though I was very happy Marai overtook her in the final standings.)
If Marai can beef up the content of her programs to include one or two triple-triple jumps, she will be formidable. Her personality simply sparkles on the ice when she turns it on.
-
Before I headed down, I was reminded that I hadn't seen 2007 world champion Brian Joubert's long program. This was one NBC didn't broadcast for us. Anyway, I found it on-line and watched it. Poor Brian. It was a disastrous program for him; in fact, his entire second Olympics was just a mistep from beginning to end. He'll have to content himself with the bronze he won four years ago.
-
After finishing with the skating port overs, I put in CUJO on Blu-ray. Some nail-biting tension crowns this movie. The transfer was really seesaw in quality. SOme of it looked really nice; much of it looked dated.
-
YEAH!!!!!!! PAGE SIX!!!!!!
-
Then I put in THE NEGOTIATOR. I don't have it on Blu-ray yet, but rewatching it pretty much convinced me I needed to upgrade. The DVD looks OK and the Dolby Digital sound is good, but I'm sure Blu-ray will do good things to this movie.
I didn't have time to finish it, so I may watch the rest tomorrow morning before I begin preparing lunch.

My work project tomorrow is one of the fall's notable flop comedies: OLD DOGS on Blu-ray with Travolta and Robin WIlliams. After the huge success of WILD HOGS, lightning didn't strike twice for Travolta with this Disney outing. Of course, I didn't think WILD HOGS was very good.

Ok, now how does someone step on another person's thigh wearing ice skates without causing pain or damage?
-
Yay for Jane!
-
Ok, now how does someone step on another person's thigh wearing ice skates without causing pain or damage?
Very carefully. ;)
As long as the step is "direct" and not a "slice", it should not cut, hurt. It's does cause some "pain" for the "steppee", but as long as they keep their thigh flexed and "solid" - and a good costume fabric - everything should be OK.
-
Heading downstairs now to go to bed.
Good night!

And since I've mentioned him a few times, here's Brendan and I at City Bakery earlier today "behind the Marshmallow Curtain":

Brendan is the "kid" I met at the opening day of the New York Philharmonic season. It turned out that while he was at Holy Cross, he studied under my friend, Eric, whom I had worked with while I was at Catholic University. Small world.

The US guy who got silver - ok, I'm bad at names - said he used to wear pads, but they were too cumbersome so he just dealt with the bruises. My guess is you aren't always flexed and solid so you sometimes get bruised.

Love the photo DR Jose. I think it's very exciting that you have become a City Bakery VIP. I'd love to see a list of all the flavors of Hot Chocolate you've had. Is it on their website?
-
I'm really tired. I think part of it is all the projects I did today, but I think I'm finally relaxing after a very stressful month. I'm looking forward to a really good sleep tonight

DR Cillaliz - If you go to www.HotChocolateFestival.com you can click through all the flavors. When I was in Memphis, I did miss a few flavors, but some of them repeated (Ginger and Banana Peel). I can have the Espresso tomorrow, so, overall, I've only missed Caramel and Vanilla. However, Maury said he would mix me up a cup of any flavor I missed or really liked "on demand".

DR Cillaliz - As for being a City Bakery VIP - I finally picked up today that Maury had been tracking my Tweets on Twitter about their Hot Chocolate Festival. :) -He also likes my pictures (http://www.flickr.com/photos/josespiano/sets/72157623290580693/).

First burger I had outside of a home environment was at a place in Florida called the Painted Horse. It was an all-you-can-eat place, the first I'd ever been to, and i remember the joy I felt that i could have seconds and thirds, which did not disappoint.

Back to the Topic of the Day for a post...
As for hamburgers...
Now that I think of it, I think my favorite ones growing up were the ones my Dad would cook for us in the backyard on his Weber Grill. -Or whenever we would go to the beach or go camping. Love that char!

Thanks for the City Bakery link, Jose. I think Vanilla Bean Hot chocolate sounds really yummy

Time for me to get some sleep. I think I did enough physical labor today to actually wear my body out. I am looking forward to sleep.
-
Pish-tosh - six pages.
-
Today, I got up early (earlier than weekdays) and went to work to make up some time. Then, I went downtown to work concessions for a local musical revue benefit. Then, I went to my sister's to get some shelves (I already have the brackets to put on my wall, I just needed the actual shelves). I've been home for a couple of hours and have watched a bit of TV.

While concessioning tonight, some other concessionaires were talking and they said that Chile had a big earthquake in the 1960s and because of that, they started building all their buildings to withstand earthquakes. and that's why they've had so much less casualties.

What a cutie! And Brendan's not so bad, either.
