Well, you've read the notes, the notes let it all hang out, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently letting it all hang out after MOOdnight.

Boy, am I behind the times.

I just discovered that I can make a "movie" by just using my Mac.

We're not talking AVATAR here, or even 12 ANGRY MEN...but talking heads, absolutely.

I knew that the Mac had a camera and that I could take a snapshot (Photobooth) of myself with it.  I also knew that I could record my voice (Garageband) and that with iMovie I could edit a film.

However, what I didn't know is that, with iMovie, I could also make a talking heads sound movie of myself.

Am I going to have fun now!

The weather was so nice yesterday. I was able to go for a bike ride at 5:40pm and it was 65F!

There were a lot of people at the lake and at the park.

On Friday in the middle of my bike ride i noticed that i could not use my right brakes (back). This is not good. So i stopped and noticed that a little piece had come unhooked. It seemed simple enough to put it back. But i just couldn't get the piece to fit.

So i had to bike slowly and only around the lake (since i only had one set of brakes).

Thankfully when i got home i was able to see the front brakes. And there was a tiny piece that moves that made room for the little piece to hook back on.

I would not have been able to go biking again without both sets of brakes.

Last night i watched a really odd movie. It was called GIGANTIC with Zoey Deschanel and John Goodman. Has anybody here seen it?

It was a quirky romantic comedy sort of like 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. But there was one storyline (a stalker going after one of the characters) that was handled so oddly. I could not make sense of it at all.

I'm not sure if i liked the movie. I sort of did. But the ending was sort of abrupt and they left the audience hanging on a few things. Very odd!

Good morning!

No walk this morning. It was raining, and although I wasn't in pain, my back felt more tender this morning than it did yesterday, so I am not taking any chances. I won't be treadmilling or doing even a light workout today.

I did, however, sleep like the dead which I really needed. 8 hours of sleep is much more than I usually get so I was very pleased about that.

I am also pleased that I'll be having another day off today.

I'm eager to rewatch TOY STORY 2 on Blu-ray. I'm going to use a different player to see if the tiny bit of aliasing I saw when I watched it on the Panasonic is still there using a different machine.

I'll definitely be watching Joan Crawford's 1930 movie PAID today, probably this afternoon.

And tonight, I'll likely get to VAN HELSING. I'm not sure if I'll watch THE TUDORS live tonight or let the DVR pick it up and watch it tomorrow.

Goiod morning, all! I must say that the neighbor above me has turned down the volume on all late night activities, and the apartment is much quieter after 11 pm these days. I'm sure he wants me dead, and I hope that the next time we run into each other, it will be cordial. I haven't seen him since late February.

Today, the Act Two Finale of THE WIZARD and more checks and edits on Victor Herbert reports. I may take a break and get some exercise in late afternoon, depending on the weather.

I haven't seen any of this season's THE TUDORS so I mau catch up on that later in the afternoon, if I don't end up back in the BONES Season Four. I liked very much the episode about the transexual minister.

If last night's CASTLE didn't record, I may rejoin BONES' season four as well. I vaguely remember that episode you're talking about, DR Elmore, but I'd love to see it again.

It's a lovely day here, so far.   The temperature is already above 70 degrees and the sun is shining.  Clouds are moving in quickly and we should have severe thunderstorms by 4pm.  Dixie Bell and I had a long walk.  Should the thunderstorms come, we have a fresh supply of Rescue Remedy so that Miss Dixie doesn't stress out as much.

There's a fantastic version of J.J. Cale's AFTER MIDNIGHT by (yes, you guessed it) Sergio Mendes, on his first album with Brasil '77, Pais Tropical.  Sergio reinvented the song in 7/4 and it has a smokin' sax solo by Tom Scott.

Lord Stanley became Earl of Derby by order of Henry VII - Lord Stanley was married to his mother....so he was Henry VIII's step grandfather....all of kinds of court intrigue....but probably just a peripheral character by the time of the show.

This morning when the clock radio came on there was a song playing that I have heard a few times recently called NEED YOU NOW.  As I was listening to it, I decided that I really needed to find out who the song was by.  I know that this particular radio station has a website that can tell you every song they have played in the last twenty-four hours.  All the time I was taking my morning medicine, getting dressed, and making the coffee; I kept trying to remember what the web address was for that station.

I sat down at the computer, signed into AOL, and the story that greeted me was entitled "NEED YOU NOW is a Pop and Country Hit."

That was an eerie start to the day.

Good morning, DR TCB!

Go to Amazon.com and go to their Music section. They will allow you to look up a song title and tell you what recordings it is on. Then you can hopefully have a listen. I hope this helps.

Hello all!

I must say that I am in a very quiet house so far today.  I guess all the running/chasing/playing has caught up with my two dogs and they are taking the Day Of Rest serious.

Sheena is snoring on the couch and Toby is laying beside me.

I finely found Mr. T's lost tags in the yard.  Funny but they were in the section I thought they would be and I know I went over it over and over but couldn't find them.  Then yesterday, Poof!, there they were!  I guess they just got covered by the dirt/leaves and it took a day or two for them to churn back up to the top.

I'm glad to hear that DR Jane is back to walks with Sherlock.  :)

I can't say I'm really looking forward to this week.

Friday is my bosses last day and Tuesday is the 3rd anniversary of when I took Mom to the hospital.

On the plus side, I took some of my income tax money and bought myself a new blue ray player (never had one before) and it can connect to wireless internet (which I have) so now I can watch instant movies from Netflix on the TV.  I've done it on the computer before but it's cool to see them on a larger screen.

I love Netflix.  I've come to the point where I don't bother buying DVD's anymore (no disrespect to those of you who do).  To be honest, I haven't watched a movie in the past year that I enjoyed enough to want to own.   My house is to small to hold a very big collection anyway.

One viewing time is more then enough for most of them--Like "Full Moon".  I watched that last night and was so bored that I almost turned it off.

Did anyone else feel that Bella is a very, very self centered creature.  Lord help the vampires if she is turned.  I'm 18--I'm aging!  I'm soooo old! Turn me now!  Please.  Give me a break.   ::)

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We're back from Lima, after Fr. Richard did a solo act this morning.  Both his acolyte and lay reader called in sick, so he had to do the entire service by himself.  And he drove all the way home himself, too, rather that taking a nap while I drove.  That probably explains why Rob and I found him asleep in the car after we'd bought coffee at Kroger on the way home!

Memphis has an original score. ::)

I remember the year when they just gave the award to Sunset Boulevard...there were no other nominees.  And the only best lead actress nominees were Glenn Close and Rebecca Luker (for Show Boat).

Yes, both MEMPHIS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY were mentioned in the article, but the latter, they assumed, has no chance of a Tony nomination for Best Musical and the feeling is that for MEMPHIS, it's 50/50.

I WILDLY objected to awarding that Tony to the score for SUNSET BOULEVARD with no other nominees. In 1989, they threw out the category when they didn't feel there were enough worthy nominees. (That was the STARMITES/LEGS DIAMOND year when JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY won Best Musical and BLACK AND BLUE was its most viable contender.)

Giving Webber a Tony without competition was simply a way of placating him.

Then I watched the CASTLE rerun from last night. Very enjoyable episode about the murder of a star baseball player. I remember figuring out the identity of the Cuban woman he got out of Cuba long before it was revealed, and the murderer's identity was pretty obvious once one figured that out.

Then I decided I'd finish up the first disc on the BONES Blu-ray set for season 4. That involved four three more episodes on the disc. The first concerned the body found in the outhouse. A very good mystery even if that annoying Daisy Wick was the intern.

Next came the episode with Michael Badolucco as the intern, his only appearance since at the end of the episode, he goes off to become an archaeologist. This was the episode that dealt with the dog fighting.

Then there was the episode where Zach solves the murder of an author with O.C.D. and escapes from the mental hpsital to report his findings. This also introduced the cute intern Wendell to the show. One of my favorite episodes of the season.

And then the last one on the disc involved the body found in an elevator shaft with the morose new intern who's always seeing the dark side of everything. Not the best mystery, and the intern isn't all that interesting to add to the mix.

It is a beautiful spring day.  I walked in the morning & then we took Sherlock into town for a pleasant walk.  There were lots of people out for the yearly Taste of Ashland event.  A good, good many of the people stopped to visit with Sherlock.

Before we walked in town I stopped and picked up The Girl With the Hornets' Nest from my friend.  The very large, heavy for me to hold, paper back is 600 pages long.  I will begin reading it today.

Ginny, that means I'm putting down A Mother & Two Daughter's until I've finished my borrowed book, also a heavy weight book.

The print on Hornets' Nest is on the small side.  My shoulder & eyes are going to struggle with this.  I'm sure it is worth it.

Well, Jane, librarian guru Nancy Pearl says you only have to give a book 50 pages before deciding to move on.  And, if you're over 50, subtract your age from 100 and that's the number of pages.  She says life's too short and there are too many good books for you to stick with one just for the sake of finishing it!

I have a question for folks who have been ushers or house managers:

Apparently four friends bought pairs of season tickets on either side of us. We've had our seats for several years. A very obnoxious woman always tries to make us change seats so they can all sit together. We do not wish to move. Could an usher make us move if the obnoxious woman asked the usher to do so? Would the house manager come and tell us we have to move?

;D  I like the book, it is the relationship I'm having trouble with-a little too close to home even if the sisters relationship is a piece of cake compared to mine with my sister.  Heck, elmore's Mr. Macbeth makes my sister look good.

In my experience as an experience usher (at least, here in Washington), NO...the ushers nor the house manager can make you move.  If anything Laura, the house manager would probably move the other people to a separate section (like the house seats) if he/she wants to placate them, but if you have your tickets and you're in the correct seats, you should get to stay...and tell 'em I said so! ;)

If that happens, you should ask the usher to get the house manager.  It's the house manager's job to get them to move or to get you (hopefully) better tickets.

The ushers can't ask you to move since those are your seats. But I would either a)move b)speak to the woman and just explaint hat you are sorry but you pay a lot for your seats and you really like them or c) tell the house manager that you do not wish to move yet this woman is talking on top of you.

I really liked NEW MOON. I wrote about it here about 2 weeks ago.

I probably have a different perspective since i read the book first.

I think bella is a lot of things, although i don't know if i'd say she was self-centered.

If you loved someone and knew they were gonna be 17 forever, you might get freaked out thinking of yourself being a lot older than them.

Aww, I'm sorry, Cillaliz. Please send my sympathies to DR Samantha.

I will.  If you're a friend on her facebook, I'm sure she'd appreciate a kind thought

DR Cillaliz - Samantha seems to have disappeared from my FB friends list.  Please tell her I'm thinking of her.

A couple of my FB friends have been losing friends & don't know why.  I went & made a list of all of mine in case it happens to me.

Thanks, everyone. I know I am being stubborn, but I like my seats. Although they are making it difficult to enjoy them. And they are doing it on purpose, so I'll move.

I SHAN'T LET THEM WIN!

They won't win if you get better seats.  I don't blame you for being stubborn about it when they have been so rude.  Have you told them why you won't move?

SO _ my work on the Church "Committee to Sell the Parsonage"  is off to a  good start -

We interviewed 3 real estate agents last Saturday - and I talked the others into choosing the RE Agent I felt best about - He was the only one of the three that  I felt was completely upfront and honest - and was also willing to half his commission if the Church found a buyer  - something the others were not willing to do

On Wednesday we signed the Listing Agreement and he agreed to all the changes I put  in

By the end of business, Thursday he had it on 2 web sites - by end of business Fridaty he had it on 20 websites and had conducted an open house for all the salespeople in his office

On Saturday the For Sale sign was on the front lawn and today and today he ran an open house.

The Vixter and I went out yesterday and bough curtains for the living room and the kitchen and put them up so the house would look less stark when you first walked in , and we also found a nice little round table at a garage sale and we put that in the corner of the living room with a lamp on it -

Ken the Committee Chair mowed the lawns, front  & back so the place would look lovely today

and it was a grey rainy day - why not go house hunting?

I've had people sit in my seat and refuse to move before.

 :o

Ok. Not plural people in my seat at one time. One person in my seat on a couple of occasions.

lol-I got that. :)  It is still shocking.  If you are in the wrong seat you move, period!

I began my evening of viewing with Joan Crawford's 1930 drama PAID. I really enjoyed it. An entertaining thread of an idea: a woman framed for theft gets sent up for three years even though she begs her boss to intercede at her sentencing hearing since she was innocent. The boss refuses and she vows revenge. During her three years, she studies the law, not to become a lawyer but to be able to run scams that circumvent the law, and she's very successful. Her biggest scam, though, is getting the son of the store owner to fall in love with her, eloping with him, and then letting him introduce her to his father as his wife. There's a rather tiresome art theft plot after that which is pretty lame, but until then, it is one of the best early Crawford movies that I've seen.

Douglass Montgomery played the son (he used his earlier screen name Kent Douglass then), and Robert Armstrong is the head of the scam gang.

Then, I decided on an evening of BONES episodes. I began with the one DR Elmore was talking about earlier today, with the transexual preacher. Yep, it's a really good episode, and the one that introduced Mr. Nigel-Murray to the intern squad. Though he asked to be taken out of the rotation and not come back, he does appear in other episodes this season and in the current season.

We listed at 349,999 expecting an eventual  sale at 335,000

today we received an offer for 335,000 and the Realtor suggested we counter offer at 345,000
and they said YES!

Now my work is cut out for me to explain the transaction church council,  to the get the contract drafted and signed and get the State Attoreny General to approve the Sale - and then it's house hunting for a new parsonage!

And the third episode I watched had the first appearance of Seeley's hunky younger brother Jared (played by the equally hunky Brendan Fehr). Clark Edison was back as the intern (gag), but the case was still really good, a man blown up in a meth lab.

Wow, Vixmom! That was fast. I'm so glad the realtor you suggested worked out so well.

They NEVER listen to me - I am considered a naysayer and malcontent - I have been goingt o this church since 1966 and been teaching Sunday School since 1988, on the altar guild, the women's circle, I'ma  layreader and communian assistant and   have never been asked to be on the council;

I have been too vocal in my critcisms - I stood up and opened my BIG MOUTH at the congregational meeting  called about selling the parsonage when  the Person In Charge was blathering nonsense
I prefaced my remarks with the information that I was in the business on the legal side of things  for more than 18 years and had previous experience as as realtor  apaprentely that was enough to have numerous people approached our council president and requested that I be asked to be on the committee - I understand through the grapervine that he agreed  to ask me   to teach me a lesson about how it is easier to critcize than to do the job

Quite honestly I am shocked that it is going so smoothly so I should proabably shut up before I jinx it - I expected it to be months before we got an offer

I am two episodes ahead of you at the moment. I like all the interns. even Daisy who plays annoying really really well. So far my two faves are the transexual preacher and the flight to Shanghai with the body in the microwave, one for how much it moved me and the other for its humor and the plane passengers.

And so to bed. I have to be at the HMO for lab tests at 9:00 tomorrow morning.

"Let's go to that new restaurant, you'll hate it , it's really healthy for you" girl speaking to her date

"First of all I said, "I think", not "I know" and secondly  OW!"  guy talking to his buddy
