Broccoli? I don't remember broccoli.

My question for ASK BK day.....as a director of television or film - do you prefer shooting on location or in a studio?
I have been to a doctor's office and had a carbuncle removed. Unfortunately, that carbuncle was in a very sensitive area, and now that the local anesthetic has worn off, I know that I will not be wearing pants for a while. . .

Did you also dance the Lambada?
I also loved the original production of PIPPIN. I'm sure that between B'way and tours that I saw the show at least fifteen times (this is through only a few self-purchased tickets and mostly tagging along on school and church group trips.)
I predict that by the end of the year, a PIPPIN revival on B'way will be announced. I'ts just about the only major show from the 70's that has yet to be brought back.
Today is the day the "Act Out Loud" winner will be announced... whatever the outcome thank you to all of you that voted
Happy 2nd Day Anniversay since the finale of "Lost", everyone!

How, exciting, Elmore. About your friend conducting the Phoenix Symphony. I am not cultured enough to attend the symphony, however.
Thought this was quite moving.
We did another LONG scene in rehearsal last night....but now it is DONE! A shorter rehearsal tonight....just a few pages - so many people had conflicts - and then a longer rehearsal tomorrow night.....
We lost our Irene Malloy in HELLO, DOLLY! - she hurt her back....so the new Irene is in.....and all the of the press releases and the website have to be fixed to reflect the change.....and it wasn't even the director who told me....it was the sound man - otherwise everything that went out early this morning would have been INCORRECT.

You certainly didn't have to modify on my account. My own modesty would have prevented me from answering without my tongue firmly implanted in my cheek.

Hello everyone--I'm back from NYC. Thanks for the good wishes, DR Ginny, DR Jose and DR elmore ( I hope I haven't forgotten anyone!)
On Monday, my friends and I went to the Book Expo to wait in line for our tickets to the Barbra Streisand interview. We were there about 3 hours. As it turns out, there wasn't as long a line as they prepared for and we could have just shown up on Tuesday and picked up our tickets.
My friend has a "hobby" in which he takes pictures of scenes from Streisand movies and tries to take them from the same vantage point as in the movie. On Monday we went to the old train depot in Jersey City, NJ. He wanted to take photos of the "Don't Rain on My Parade" sequence from Funny Girl.
It wasn't easy getting there! We first took the subway to Chambers Street (I think), then the PATH to NJ, then the lightrail and then about a half hour walk! We found out about the ferry afterwards and took that back to Manhattan.
My friend was really thrilled--he managed to recreate several scenes (without actors!)

As Jane said - most likely Musso and Frank - if not, Genghis Cohen for sure.
I'm just more glad then words can say that no one got hurt. That's the main thing. I'm also very glad nothing happened to the house. I really couldn't take that right now.
At least that gets that tree out of the way before hurricane season starts. :)
if you scratch it, it bleeds a white kinda milk.

I am also glad that no one (human, dog, or cat) was injured. Although I can think of one contractor who I would like to be underneath that tree.

We have mulberry trees here, and they don't bleed like that, Danise. Maybe it's another variety.

I'm sure he will but I don't mind helping with the small branches. I think I'm walking away from the project. It's simply not worth my time anymore - the guy is such a psycho that it isn't even fun playing him. We certainly have succeeded in showing everyone exactly what he is. I'll probably tell the story completely in the notes in the next few days. I'm sure he'll threaten me for doing so, but since every word will be the truth, that's just tough beans - plus, at bottom he's a coward of the highest order. He threatens people all the time but NEVER follows through. There is still a chance it will come via someone else, someone this guy hates even more than me. I've convinced MGM to license it to him if I walk away and they'll be happy to - and this guy doesn't give a flying Wallenda what happens. Just depends on if he can afford it, as he's also offered to cover the expenses I've incurred.

I wonder if DR Jennifer has picked up a much awaited book at the library and is completely engrossed in it. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS' NEST was released yesterday.I'm still something like 89th on the reservation list at my library. Can't wait.

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!
John G, I still haven't removed my name from the library queue. I've been tracking how long it would take. I think tomorrow I may go from 34th in line to 1st in line. As long as I remove my name before it is held for me I'm ok. I'm tempted to re-read it. With so many people waiting to read it the first time I'll wait. One day I will read the trilogy again.I also placed a reservation on the large-print copy so that I would get the first book I could. I think I'm 35 for that, but there are far fewer copies ordered.

Nope. Just a lot of regrets for what the project should have been.
