I emailed Sony yesterday because my CD editing/burning software was not working....it was telling me to download the latest PS engine....which is from ROXIO....and I won't touch ROXIO again since it hijacks ALL of your movie/CD programs....and I had to take my computer in for a ReSTORE after I bought it and installed it a few months ago.

The Sony software.....SonicStage Mastering Studio is excellent.  Within one hour, I got an email back with links and instructions...and it worked....the software is now running fine and I burned a CD with it.....great!

Thanks, Sony.

Good morning, all! I went to bed around 9:30 pm feeling quite lousy and slept as long as I coud before the demands of the day may me rouse myself. The jerk above me around 1:10 or so mke quite a racket; it sounded like he dropped a huge bag of marbles: a nosy thud and the sound of many marbles rolling around his uncarpeted floor. I want the fool deported back to Canada. Now.

I'm still feeling poorly, and there's been no word from Randy or Jo to my last inquiry about the state of real estate which bums me out. Keep them vibes coming!

This morning, laundry and cleaning the apartment and mopping the bathroom. After that, I have Victor Herbert and Wizard of Oz work.

TOD: If money were no object, I'd send myself to a good clinic for the major repairs I cannot afford and then I'd spend my time working on recordngs of music and shows that need to be recorded.

DR Jane (or anybody else who watched) did you like the Betty White show HOT IN CLEVELAND?  Apparently the reviews were good, so it is going to start airing here on July 5th.

I agree with Vixmom on the maid idea. And I would help fund DR Elmore's project of getting some of these wonderful yet forgotten old scores recorded -- as they were meant to sound.

In a way, I'm getting one of the things I had wanted for a long time this weekend. I've long wanted a Vitamix. Really wanted one, ever since I saw what these machines can do in the kitchen. Low and behold, they were for sale on the nearby Air Force base, and a friend of mine works there, so he picked one up for me tax-free and a slightly reduced rate, which makes it about 15 percent off what I would have otherwise paid. I take possession tomorrow, and I can't wait to get started.  Smoothies, raw soups, cooked soups, frozen drinks ...

The laundry is finished and the kitchen and bathroom mopped, so I think, while my energy is up, I will run to the pharmacy near Lincoln Center and pick up my meds. If I feel lke it when I get back I will vacuum. I think the first thng I will do on returning is take a cool bath.

T.O.D.

If money was no object, i would produce a new Broadway production of SLEUTH starring myself as Andrew.  Then I would work out an arrangement with PBS to record the show for GREAT PERFORMANCES.

That way I would have something other than MTV's HIGH SCHOOL STORIES to prove that I was here.

Saturday morning greetings!  Richard and I are both suffering lower back pain - a combination of stress and not sleeping on our own TempurPedic mattress.  We all did sleep in today and we're about to go out for brunch and send DS Rob home in my car to help some friends of his move into a new apartment.  Richard and I will stay in Lima until after tomorrow's service.

Well, DR TCB, the sign in front of the church says:

The Rev'd Dr. Richard Palmer, Vicar

so you can call him Richard, Fr. Palmer, Fr. Richard, Vicar Richard, Vicar Palmer, or Dr. Palmer.  Just don't call him Dick.

And I see Facebook's very own Jose has been monkeying around - well, here's my guess - either I or someone else said something that he didn't care for (although I can't imagine what) and he has left - and my guess is that he has, in fact, answered people's queries and no one wants to tell me what the problem is/was.  Too bad.  You can always PM me the information.  I'm just baffled by it, frankly - well maybe he feels it's more about him on Facebook and less about the community of this jernt.  I honestly have no idea why he would do this - as I will always point out - the people on this site have been very friendly, positive, and supportive of him, always.

Speaking of my sister...she just called and she, her daughter and our mom are at my parents' rental house getting it ready for new renters.  They need a roll of paper towels and since I live so close (and I have a lot of rolls of paper towels...Costco, you know), I'm going to bring them some.  After that, I'm going to work for a couple of hours, then tonight it's Saul Tannenbaum's SPRINGTIME IN PARIS featuring the Gay Parisiennes! (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=115315121843813&index=1) (The link is to a Facebook event.)  It should be a fantastic evening!

I spent the afternoon watching SHADOWBOXER with the very brave Helen Mirren. I enjoyed it, although the violence kept sending me to the pause button so I could distance myself from it whenever possible. I got a bit tired of the director's pretensions and wished at times the narrative had been more direct.

I've given up trying to get Richard to take today OFF - he's working on synod stuff on his computer and we've decided to postpose seeing TOY STORY 3 until we're back in Middletown.  We went over to the church for him to print tomorrow's sermon and I gathered up all my food prep items except the perishables.  We'll get those tomorrow and put them in the mini-cooler that was returned to us yesterday by the Vicar from our former church in Cincinnati.  I'd left it there almost 3 years ago!

I have neither heard from him nor contacted him.  I assume he has new friends and new goals to pursue.

Well, good.

TOD - a really BIIIIIG house on lots of land - so I could entertain and have people stay and visit for asslong as they liked - and of course maid to help keep it all tidy and clean

I've always thought that if I won the lottery, I would buy a big estate (probably something like Michael Burn's place that's for sale!) and turn it into a non-profit retreat for documentary filmmakers to work on their projects. Then I would have a big place to live with lots of land, surrounded by interesting people with interesting projects, and of course, a maid and a gardener to keep the place up. Win-win!

I will tell my cousin Loree. Vitamix has been one of the businesses my family has been in for many years and she's the CFO of Vitamix.

Ginny what is the proper way to address Richard in his position (besides Richard)?

HahahahahaRichard!

DR Jane (or anybody else who watched) did you like the Betty White show HOT IN CLEVELAND?  Apparently the reviews were good, so it is going to start airing here on July 5th.

We enjoyed the second episode.  We both agree, while very cute, the week link in the suburb cast is Valerie Bertinelli.  You need to pay attention to catch Betty White's wonderful expressions.  Jane Leeves & Wendy Malick are terrific.

Nor have I attempted to contact him.  He may be on FB but it is very low keyed without much emotional investment.  As I previously mentioned he has taken breaks before.  Bruce while you figure it is personal I figure Jose is simple going through "stuff" and/or focusing on other things at the moment.  Until someone tells you otherwise I suggest  sending him vibes that all is well. :)  Remember Jose has  been very friendly, positive, and supportive of us and if he needs a break we should support that.

My parents are fine. They said it stormed and the wind blew. My mother was up, she never sleeps through a storm.  But they didn't lose their power although others in the area did. No real damage there.  There were several farms and hog confinements hit by tornados in NW Iowa.  I know some cattle were killed and property damage, but I don't think anyone was injured

I'm curious in the US if there are a lot of people with flags on their cars for soccer (World Cup).  Maybe it's a bit different because the US is/was in it and Canada isn't. But here everywhere you look there are cars with all different countries flags on them.

The most prevalent was Italy. Although i haven't seen any of theirs in the last few days. I wonder if there is some unwritten rule that when your team is out you take the flags down.  I still did see flags today. Some Germany and a few others.

Don't know if this is the case with Jose, but I've had to abandon HHW when my work load gets overwhelming. I do still check in with Facebook but that's because my co-workers are on it and a lot of people send me messages through FB and KI can hit and run during a render.

I don't know what Jose is up to lately; I invited him to breakfast with us and Elmore when we were in NY but he was already in VA. He helped me out tracking down a costume supply place in NY but that's the last I've heard from him. I hope he's doing well and comes back soon!

Watching movie number two - not for enjoyment, although it's a great movie, but to try and name the cues and identify them - the problem with this movie is that it's almost two hours long with about eighteen minutes of music - so one has to sit for great long stretches waiting for the next cue.  The first cue doesn't occur until almost thirty two minutes in.

Look out DR JMK - Frances in all its inaccurate glory is playing on TCM early Sunday morning.

I love the driveway photos DR Jane.  What a beautiful setting to spread asphalt!

Thanks.  It was fun watching them.  I'm sorry I didn't get pics of the old driveway getting scooped out.

THE LAST STATION and everybody in it is brilliant, particularly Mr. Plummer and Helen Mirren.

We have had the DVD sitting here from NetFlix.  I'm going to push Keith for us to watch it tonight.  He doesn't seem very interested.

My wife and I watched it last night.

We thought that the performances were superb, but we found the script lacking.  Neither of us got that emotionally involved.

On the other hand, we also watched GREEN ZONE, which is a terrific political action-thriller.

Thanks.  We also have HOBSON'S CHOICE to watch & I suspect Keith will want to watch it first.

Give him a break--he does have a driveway to repave, you know.  ;)

The fact that he works so hard everyday is why I usually let him choose what we watch.  That is why I often say I'm off to watch something.  I rarely know what it will be we are to watch. :)

Dog Bosco and I are babysitting little 2 year old Cole while his parents (my niece and her hubby) are at a wedding.

As I check out HHW, Cole is upstairs playing with every toy in the playroom.

It was sad seeing Bosco unable to jump into the car today. I had to pick him up and put him in.  He has been going downhill the last few weeks, losing weight and becoming very lethargic.  I suspect that the time is soon coming when he will be no more with me, and I am not quite ready to face that day.

Finally I could do it.  Even after I felt better it hurt my shoulder too much to do it.  I'm not sure how I managed to post at all-just for you Bruce. :)

MBarnum have you called the vet?  Sometimes cortisone helps with pain and increases appetite.  Side effects include drinking tons of water resulting in accidents in the house.

DR Cillaliz, I hope you DO have to water your flowers!

I watered my flowers...I should have done it last night, I thought we woudl get rain.  My parents are getting the storms again. I just called and they are in the basement with the sirens going off.  I don't think they are going to have a tornado, the one that touched ground was south west of them and moving south east so they should be ok.   It still looks like they are getting heavy storms.  She'll call when it's over.

We could actually use some rain.  We just don't need the storms

Oh, that's so sad.  Jane is right, maybe the vet can give him cortisone or something to ease his pain

I will.  The weather men have interrupted programming to show the track of the storms.  I can tell the worst of it is south of them, so I'm not too worries.

Ginny what is the proper way to address Richard in his position (besides Richard)?

Gee, I don't even know the proper way to phrase the question.

How about Vic Dick?

If I had unlimited funds I'd buy really cool old endangered buildings and restore them.

Yep, that's part of our agenda, too. I'd love to restore a place like Michael Burns and his wife did.

Anyone got a spare 6 million?

I would never buy that place.  By the end of the first week, I would have fallen down that main staircase.

They would scare me too-lol.  They are very beautiful stairs.  I wouldn't mind looking at them or the rest of the house and grounds.

My dog, Missy, who is about 14, has arthritis.  We give her a 1/4 pill for it every morning and it seems to help with both pain and her appetite.  Not sure what the medication is called, but your vet should.

I'm back from seeing the final performance of "Saul Tannenbaum's SPRINGTIME IN PARIS featuring the Gay Parisiennes!"  It was a great evening (although they didn't have enough light on the performers, at all).  The singers were great, the show was fun and a good time was had by all!

Even though no one was actually smoking at the club during the show, you could tell that people had been smoking there for years.

I smell like cigarette smoke and have a headache now. :P

TOD - in the short term, I'd buy or rent us a "second home" here in Lima, because I'm getting a little tired of the Fairfield Inn.  In the longer term, I'd buy a small apartment in NYC, because that's where I'd really like to be spending more time.

Great idea!  I'd love to have my own place in NYC...and London.
